The New Deal

Lorilei calmly walks into the Pack Den Alphas' office with Klaus behind her; the Alphas are already there to discuss the problem with the Save Elena Gang. "I am going to kill THEM!" Lorilei rages, making the men cringe due to their sensitive hearing.

"We agreed not to kill them," Klaus replies, wrapping his arm around her waist and stopping her from going on a rampage.

"What did they do, Lorilei?" David asks her, growing worried.

"They took Klaus' family," Lorilei seethes, opening her hand to show a ball of flame.

"What do we need to do?" Brandon asks, looking at them as they plan to find the Original Family the day after the Homecoming dance.

A week after Homecoming, Bonnie finds herself in the woods outside the Abandoned Witch's House and walks inside, hearing the whispers of the dead Witches. She keeps going through the house and goes downstairs to find four coffins. There is one in particular she's drawn to that's higher than the others, and she moves towards it and finally opens it to find Klaus in there, asleep. He seems peaceful with his Mother's necklace in his hands, and Bonnie goes to touch it. However, she hears a noise and turns around, but she doesn't see anything as she startles away suddenly in her bedroom to find it was a dream.

Meanwhile, Elena jogs down the street when she stops to catch her breath and see what time it is. She turns around and sees a strange man in a hoodie running toward her, and she grows scared and starts running again. Elena looks behind her quickly and sees the man is still there, so she runs faster and finally arrives out front of her house. She stops when she sees the strange man isn't behind her anymore and turns around to head inside when she comes face-to-face with him. "Excuse me," The man says, bumping into her. "I should have been watching where I was going."

"Don't worry about it," Elena assures him, smiling stiffly.

"You have a nice day," he replies before running off. She watches him, her heartbeat settling down after her shock.

After Elena's morning jog, she heads to the Mystic Grill to meet with Bonnie. She finds her best friend at a table and sits down with a sigh. "I think I'm going crazy. I'm totally paranoid all the time," Elena grumbles, looking at her.

"You have a right to be. Klaus and Lorilei are still out there, and they know you tried to kill him," Bonnie replies, feeling tired from her strange dreams from the last week.

"Why haven't they made a move? There's been no sign of them, nothing. Just my slow spiral into insanity," She argues, deflating in her seat.

"Join the club. Every time I close my eyes, I have that nightmare on repeat," The Bennett Witch retorts.

"The same dream?" The Doppelganger questions, growing concerned for her friend.

"Yeah. 4 coffins. Klaus is in one of them. It's weird," Bonnie says, frowning as she wonders what the dream could mean.

"What if it's not just... Some dream? What if it's, like, you know, a Witch dream?" Elena suggests, as if she has any clue about being a Witch.

"It's just stress. I'll figure it out. What about Stefan?" She asks, changing the subject.

"He betrayed us, Bonnie. The Stefan that we know is gone," the human argues, shrugging, though she feels betrayed by her ex-boyfriend, who sided with Klaus after everything.

"How is Damon handling that?" The inexperienced Witch asks, looking at her best friend.

"Damon is... Damon," Elena answers curtly. She looks behind her to see Alaric at the bar grading papers with a few bottles around him and on the phone with Damon.

"Uh, you have your choice... Bloody Mary, screwdriver. Brunch in a bottle," Damon jokes through the phone, and Alaric takes a sip of his scotch. "Come on, Ric. I can't talk the whole time. I mean, I can, but then somebody's getting annoyed." Alaric looks at the bartender, signalling another drink. "Oh, man. I can't believe you answered me, what's the point if you're not going to talk?"

"I'm busy," Alaric replies.

"It's the eve of Klausageddon. You're doing homework?" He asks, guessing correctly.

"This may come as a shock, but I am not here to hang out with you. I'm here to see Jeremy, who is an hour late for his shift," The History Teacher says, looking up to see if Jeremy has arrived yet.

"Kids today. Where are their values?" The older Salvatore Brother teases him.

"His midterm paper looks like it was copied straight off the internet. If he did, he hid it well," Alaric comments, putting a C at the top of the paper.

"Ooh. Somebody's getting grounded," Damon jokes, and the bartender stops by Alaric, hearing them talking.

"Did you say you were waiting for Jeremy... As in Jeremy Gilbert?" The bartender asks, looking at them.

"Yeah," Alaric answers.

"Yeah. He asked for the day off," He informs him before walking off.

"Oops," Damon mutters, and Alaric turns around, looking at Elena.

Jeremy is in the woods with Tyler, the young Gilbert boy holding a crossbow and shooting at a can. "Nice shot," Tyler smiles, looking at the arrow in the can.

"So what's the point of this, again?" Jeremy asks, wondering why he's talking to him.

"The point is I'm pissed at Caroline, and Bonnie dumped your ass. The point... Is to get drunk and shoot stuff," He replies, holding up another can of beer.

"Profound. If Jenna finds out I took this, she's going to use it on me," The young Gilbert boy jokes, holding up the crossbow.

"So, what's the deal with that? She back from campus?" the young Hybrid wonders, not having seen Jeremy's Aunt in a while.

"Sort of, yeah. She stays off and on as Lorilei is back in town, keeping an eye on the twins." Jeremy explains, glad to have his Aunt back home for even a little while before she goes back.

"Glad to hear it. What's it like living on your own?" Tyler asks, making Jeremy laugh. "Any cool parties?"

"No. Alexis is more adult than me or Eddie. She keeps it pretty mellow," He replies, raising the crossbow and shooting at another empty beer bar, but Tyler gets in the middle. "Hey, you want to move out of the way?"

"I'm a Hybrid, Gilbert," The cocky Hybrid retorts. "You can't kill me unless you cut off my head or rip out my heart. And you're not going to do it with that lame-ass crossbow. Go ahead. Take a shot. Unless you don't think you can hit me." Jeremy aims for his head and shoots, but Tyler catches the arrow with his hand and smirks at the young Gilbert boy. "How's it going with Alexis?" Jeremy shoots another arrow.

Alexis enters work to find Elena on the phone, pacing erratically as Alaric sits at the bar grading papers. "Great," Alexis sighs, walking past.

"Jeremy, the minute that you get this, call me," Elena demands before hanging up and moving to sit with Alaric at the bar.

"You're feisty when you're mad," Damon jokes through the phone, Alaric still not hanging up.

"It's not that I'm mad. I'm just... I'm worried," She argues, slouching in her seat.

"Why? I think he'll survive, Elena," Alaric assures her.

"He's spiralling. Ever since Bonnie broke up with him, he's moody. He's not really talking to anyone," The Doppelganger replies, growing worried for her Brother. She still cares about him even if he doesn't live at home anymore.

"Just a typical teenager," Damon argues.

"Who's seeing ghosts, and who's lost almost everyone that he cares about," Elena retorts, annoyed at the sarcastic Vampire.

"Not everyone. He still has you and Jenna," He reminds her.

"Are you okay?" She asks him, taking the phone off the bar as she spots Alexis and takes him off speakerphone.

"What makes you think I'm not okay?" The older Salvatore Brother questions.

"Well, you sound day drunk. It's not exactly your most attractive look," The Doppelganger remarks, and Damon grins enough that she can hear it over the phone.

"Oh. What is my most attractive look?" Damon asks her, smirking.

"Uh-uh. I'm not saying you have any attractive look. I'm just... Saying this is my least favourite one," Elena stutters, blushing. Alaric looks at her, growing slightly concerned about the two of them getting closer.

"Noted. See if I can make any improvements," He jokes.

"Don't mind me," Klaus says, interrupting them. Elena swirls around in shock to see him with the man from her morning jog and Lorilei.

"Klaus. Lorilei," Elena mutters, hanging up the phone.

"You going to do this in the Grill, in front of everyone? It's a little beneath you, don't you think?" Alaric asks, bravely stepping up to the couple.

"I don't know what you're talking about. We just came down to our local pub to grab a drink with a mate. Get a round, then, would you, Tony?" Lorilei replies, looking at the Hybrid. Elena instantly recognises Tony as the man who ran behind her this morning. Tony steps away to grab them some drinks. Klaus looks at the Doppelganger and smiles stiffly.

"I'm surprised you stuck around town. Long enough for happy hour," The History Teacher remarks, looking at the power couple.

"My family seems to be missing. Need to sort that out," Klaus answers, glaring at them.

"Four caskets. Shouldn't be too hard to find," Alaric messes up, saying something he shouldn't know, and the Siphon picks up on it.

"Truth is, I've grown to rather like my old home town. Thinking we might fancy a home here. I imagine you're wondering how does this affect you. And the answer is not in the slightest. As long as we get what we want, and everyone behaves themselves, you can go on living your little lives however you choose. You have our word," Lorilei promises, looking at the Doppelganger warningly.

"What more could you possibly want?" Elena asks, gritting her teeth in anger.

"Well, for starters, you can tell me where we might find Damon," Klaus requests, trying to act friendly.

"Damon skipped town the second Stefan saved your ass," Alaric answers, moving Elena behind him as if he can stop the Original Hybrid and Siphon.

"Well, you see, that is a shame. Your friend stole from me. I need him found so I can take back what's mine," He retorts, turning his head to the History Teacher.

"That sounds like a Klaus and Damon problem," Elena says, gaining some confidence. Lorilei steps forward, but Alaric puts himself between them. Lorilei looks at him with a grin.

"Well, this is us broadening the scope, sweetheart," Lorilei replies. "So be a good little girl and help out your neighbours."

Bonnie tries recreating her dream from the past week. She stands in front of the old Witches' house and steps inside, heading downstairs into the basement. But unlike her dream, the coffins are nowhere to be seen. "Hello, Bonnie," Damon greets her, spooking her. Bonnie turns around and sees him leaning against the door.

"Damon. You followed me here?" Bonnie asks him, looking at the older Salvatore Brother.

"Yeah. It wasn't too hard. You should probably be more careful," He retorts, looking at the old house.

"What do you want with me?" She asks him, not trusting him.

"Relax. I just need your help," The sarcastic Vampire argues.

"Why would I help you?" The Bennett Witch snaps. "I don't trust you, Damon."

"Let me fill you in on a little secret about Klaus," Damon replies. "He kept his family with him at all times, Daggered, stored in coffins. And now, I have them. And I need you to help keep them hidden," he explains, looking around carefully.

"You're out of your mind. You're just going to make him angrier," Bonnie warns him, not wanting to get into the middle of this mess.

"His family is his one weakness. As long as I have that, I can ruin him," He tells her, not seeing reason.

"I don't have enough power to hide 4 Originals," She argues.

"You're a Witch. You hate Klaus. I know you can figure something out," The older Salvatore Brother retorts, shrugging.

Meanwhile, Elena and Alaric are in the kitchen at the Gilbert House. The history teacher is cooking as the Doppelganger sets the table, needing to make it look perfect for when Jeremy and Jenna come over to talk about everything and possibly move back in. "You ready?" Alaric asks her, seeing how nervous she is.

"Vampires, Hybrids, and Originals. No problem. My rebellious Brother and my cautious Aunt... I'm worried," Elena replies, looking at him.

"Proof you're still human," He tells her, and there's a knock at the front door. Elena rushes to the door to see Jeremy and Jenna waiting.

"Just in time. We're cooking," She tells them, letting them inside.

"Sorry, not hungry," Jeremy replies, looking at his Aunt, who looks just as uncomfortable.

"Aww. Well, I thought we'd all stay in. Have a meal together like a typical atypical family. And talk," Alaric suggests, looking at his ex-girlfriend and her nephew.

"Why?" Jenna asks, looking around the house, feeling like a stranger.

"Maybe because you go off without warning. And you didn't tell anyone. And I want you to come home so you're not so out of control anymore," Elena argues, earning a small scoff from Jenna.

"Elena, leave it alone. He's not going out of control, and you need to understand that you are not the parent here," Jenna snaps at her. Jeremy places a hand on Jenna's shoulder, trying to calm her down.

"Look, can we do this later? I made plans with Tyler. He's right outside," Jeremy asks, not wanting to be here.

"Yeah, I have work to do," She adds.

"Wait. When did you start hanging out with Tyler Lockwood?" Alaric asks, frowning as he looks at the young teen.

"A while. Does it matter?" Jeremy questions, not seeing the problem.

"Yeah, Jeremy, it matters. He was Sired by Klaus. He's dangerous," Elena snaps at her little Brother.

"He can still hear you," He reminds her. "He's right outside. Besides, you, of all people, are going to lecture me on who I can and can't hang out with."

"What is with the attitude?" She asks him in shock.

"Whatever. This is lame. Tyler's waiting," The Little Gilbert groans and turns to Jenna. "Can I leave?"

"Yeah, I am, too. This is a waste of time," Jenna agrees, both going to leave.

"No. Oh, no, no. You're not going anywhere, especially not with Tyler," Elena argues, getting in their way. They both look to Alaric for help.

"I'm with her on this, Jer, Jenna. Sorry," Alaric says, shrugging.

"All right. Fine. You want us to stay in? Let's all stay in, then," Jeremy retorts. "Yo, Tyler, come on in." He shouts.

"Jeremy…" Elena mutters, and they watch Tyler walk into the house, coming into the kitchen with them. Jeremy looks at Elena, smiling.

Elsewhere, Stefan sits at the Salvatore Boarding House, looking around for his older Brother, but Damon is no one around. He pours himself a glass of scotch and senses someone behind him. He turns around to see Klaus and Lorilei there, but neither looks impressed. "I think it's about time we had a drink, don't you?" Klaus suggests, looking at his old friend.

"I'd say we're overdue," Stefan agrees.

"Well, we've been so busy, what with all your brother's plotting and scheming," Lorilei retorts, annoyed.

"You know Damon... Never miss a chance to plan an epic failure," He replies, sitting down after handing them both a drink.

"Don't be so hard on yourself. Who could have guessed your own Brother would betray you?" Klaus argues, and Stefan looks at them, trying to figure out what's going on.

"What's going on, guys?" The former Ripper asks them.

"It seems your brother has stolen the Original Family caskets," Lorelei informs him as he's been spending most of his time with Blake.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Stefan asks them.

"We didn't want you to get involved, mate. But it seems your Brother wants to play hide and seek," Klaus explains. "We need to find those coffins."

"What do you need?"

Back at the Gilbert House, Jeremy gives a glass to Tyler, sitting at the table with Jenna while Alaric and Elena watch them. "Thanks," Tyler says awkwardly.

"This is weird," Elena comments, looking at her friend. "Klaus has Hybrids stalking me, and now, you're just sitting in our kitchen."

"Look, maybe I should go," Tyler suggests, not wanting to make her uncomfortable.

"No, stay. You're not doing anything," Jeremy assures him.

"Unless you have to, you know, check in with your Hybrid master," Elena snaps offensively.

"Elena!" Jenna snaps back at her.

"It's not like that, Elena," Tyler argues, and Alaric sits at the table beside Tyler.

"Tell me, Tyler... What is the difference?" Alaric asks him. "Between being Sired and being compelled?"

"Compulsion... That's just mind control, like hypnosis," He explains. "And being Sired is... It's like faith. You do something because you believe it's the right thing."

"So, you believe that serving Klaus is the right thing?" Elena questions.

"I don't serve him. Klaus released me from a curse that was ruining my life. I owe him for that," The young Hybrid argues.

"What if he asked you to... Jump off a bridge?" Alaric asks him.

"He wouldn't. And even if he did, I'd be fine. I'm a Hybrid," Tyler retorts.

"Okay. So what if he asked you to rip your own heart out?" Elena suggests.

"Again, he wouldn't," He argues.

"What if he did?" She asks again.

"I don't know. Then I'd rip out my heart," Lockwood snaps, and Jeremy looks at his new friend in surprise. "You guys sound like Caroline, getting all freaked out over something you don't understand."

"You're right, Tyler. I don't understand. Klaus has terrorised every single one of us, and you're just blindly loyal to him," The Doppelganger argues.

"You're overthinking it. I can still make my own decisions," Tyler retorts, getting annoyed at them, and Alaric looks at Elena.

While at the Salvatore House, Stefan and Klaus share a glass as Lorilei leans over a map of Mystic Falls as she tries to find Damon with Stefan's blood. "Cheers, mate," Klaus says, clinking glasses with Stefan.

"Down the hatch," Stefan replies, watching Lorilei as she mutters under her breath and moves her hands across the map. "Didn't you put a locator on Elijah?"

"She did," He replies, not stopping Lorilei from her search. "It seems whatever is stopping her from finding my family is powerful."

"I see," The younger Salvatore Brother muses, looking at the McKnight Witch, who groans, swiping the map away. "No luck?"

"No. It's useless. Whatever is stopping me from finding your Brother and Klaus' family is powerful enough to stop anything I try." Lorilei groans, getting up and sitting next to Klaus, who wraps an arm around her shoulder, kissing her forehead.

"We'll find them, Love," Klaus promises her. "I know we will."

"I just don't understand. Most of my spells have worked fine. The locator spell I used for Elijah's coffin should be unbreakable," She explains frustratedly. "Whatever is stopping me is powerful. I just don't understand it. The only thing powerful enough to stop me would be…" She stops, making Stefan and Klaus look at her. "That little bitch…" She jumps, rushing out of the house.

"Think she figured it out?" Stefan asks, looking at Klaus, who shrugs.

"Haven't got a club, mate," Klaus replies, taking a drink.

At the Gilbert House, Jeremy hangs up the phone, getting an urgent call from Alexis, warning him about Lorilei being on the warpath with Bonnie. "What was that about?" Elena asks him, growing nervous.

"It was nothing," Jeremy lies, looking at Tyler.

"I got to go. Um, thanks for the food offer, but…" Tyler says, getting up from the table.

"Next time," Alaric agrees, and Tyler leaves. Jenna grabs her bag.

"And we're going too," Jenna announces, going to leave.

"Please, don't go," Elena pleads with her Aunt.

"We have things to do. I need to check on Edward," She argues, moving through the house. "Jeremy come on, you need to get home too. I know you haven't started on your homework."

"Coming!" Jeremy exclaims, jumping and running out of the house, making Jenna laugh as she closes the door on Alaric and Elena without a word. Alaric and Elena look at each other.

"Well, that was illuminating," Alaric mutters, looking defeated.

"So, Tyler Lockwood is a lunatic who has access to our house. And Jenna and Jeremy don't even want to spend a minute with either of us," Elena huffs, folding her arms and standing up at the counter.

"I mean, this whole Sire Bond thing is wild. I don't even think Tyler's fully aware of what little reason lies behind what he's saying," he muses. "It's... It's his weird cult logic."

"Well, great," She groans. "What are we going to do?" She turns to look at him.

"I don't know," The History Teacher replies, feeling defeated. "But I need some air." Alaric gets up, heads out, and needs another drink at the Grill. Elena watches him and takes the plates of food, growing annoyed at the situation, but she isn't blaming herself or Alaric, but everyone else. Suddenly, there's a screeching of tyres coming from outside, and Elena races to the front door to see a car driving away and Alaric lying on the pavement.

"Oh my God!" The Doppelganger gasps, running towards him. "Alaric!" She kneels beside him, checking on him all alone. Elena looks around for help, but no one can help her with Alaric. She grabs her phone, calling her friends for help, but no one answers.

"There I go again, bumping into people," Tony laughs, stepping towards her, making Elena look at him in fear as she's alone. Elena spots Alaric's Gilbert ring, and Tony leaves. "This is a warning from Lorilei. Klaus and Lorilei want those coffins back." He gets into his car, and Elena tries pulling the dead weight of Alaric's dead back into the Gilbert House.

At the Mikaelson property, Klaus stands inside with Mindy, one of his Hybrids, as builders and Pack members are renovating the old house. "Have the men open up this wall," Klaus tells her, gesturing to the wall he wants to be taken down. "We need sun. I want a fortress, not a dungeon." Tyler enters, not looking too happy after leaving the Gilbert House. "There he is. How was today?"

"Good, I suppose," Tyler replies, and Lorilei walks into the room on her phone.

"Well, Jeremy enjoyed his time with you," Lorelei comments, making the young Hybrid look at her. "Just got off the phone with Edward, who has a cold and apparently acts like a whiny five-year-old in Jeremy's opinion." She moves towards the boy, who looks like he could do it with a hug, wrapping an arm around him. Tyler, at first, grows stiff but melts into her hold. "Tony ran down Alaric as instructed. Hopefully, the message is clear."

"You said you were sending them a warning," Tyler questions, looking at them. Knowing he has his favourites, he doesn't care much about the teacher.

"And we did... an effective one," Klaus argues. "Elena's loved ones suffer, she's motivated to get us what we want."

"I didn't think that we'd actually have to kill anyone," He snaps, looking at Lorilei for help.

"Tyler, we're not the bad guys in this," Lorilei tells him. "Damon took Klaus' family from him because he wanted to kill him and failed. You need to think about this carefully, Tyler. Are you a part of the Pack or not? We defend each other against everyone else. That's how it works." She moves away from him.

"I know. I just need some time," Tyler replies, walking away.

"He'll figure it out," Klaus assures Lorilei, who watches Tyler walk away.

At the Gilbert House, Alaric lies on the couch, still dead with Elena. She tries calling Damon again, and he finally picks up. "What is it?" Damon asks, answering, and Elena explains what's happened. How is he?"

"He's dead, but he had his ring. Klaus' Hybrid hit him. Now we just wait," Elena replies, looking warily at Alaric.

"How'd it go with Jenna and Jeremy?" He asks, filling the quiet.

"I don't know, it was going well and then somehow Tyler got dragged into it," She explains, huffing to herself.

"Klaus is trying to send us a message," The older Salvatore Brother tells her. "He wants you to find me after stealing his coffins of all his dead family members."

"Coffins?" The Doppelganger questions.

"Yep. So all you have to do is find 4 coffins, and voila, no one else on your family's Christmas list has to die," Damon teases her. "And I can't tell you."

"Damon, please, he could hurt Jeremy next," Elena argues, pleading with him.

"I can't Elena, he needs to go," He retorts.

"I understand that, I do, but this is my Brother and family we're talking about," She reminds him, pleading with him. "All Klaus and Lorelei want is his family back."

"No. No, I know what you're thinking. The answer's no," The sarcastic Vampire argues, shaking his head over the phone.

"If we give him Elijah, maybe…" The dark-haired woman suggests.

"Yeah, then Klaus un-daggers him. First thing he does is get you killed. Frying pan, fire. Not an option. We're lucky that Rebekah hasn't gone after you for Homecoming," Damon reminds her.

"Klaus's coffins. How many did you say there were?" Elena asks, frowning and coming up with an idea.

At Bonnie's house, she sits on her bed in her room when her phone rings. She answers it, seeing it's Elena. "Elena? Hey."

"Klaus is looking for 4 coffins, just like in your dream," Elena tells her immediately. "I think it's not just stress."

"Elena, don't get involved," She warns her, already knowing what's happening. "Whatever Klaus wants, stay as far away from it as you can."

"Klaus won't let me. Bonnie... He tried to kill Alaric," The Doppelganger explains urgently.

"What do you want me to do?" The Witch asks her best friend.

"We need to find Damon," Elena tells her. "Look, I know that you don't think that your locater spell still works, but we have to at least try."

"We don't need a locator spell," Bonnie replies.

Elena and Alaric arrive at the abandoned Witches House after the Doppelganger talks with her friend, who immediately tells her where Damon is hiding the Original family. "Bonnie said this place lost all its mojo," Alaric remarks, looking at the place.

"The dead Witches were angry at her for bringing Jeremy back to life," Elena explains. "I guess now they have something they want her to know."

"I don't get Witches at all," He mutters, and they walk into the house.

"Damon?" She calls, looking around.

"Damon! Get out here!" The History Teacher snaps, growing annoyed at his friend for hiding. Alaric tries moving forward, but he can't seem to move. "What? What's going on?"

"What?" The Doppelganger asks, looking at them.

"I don't think the Witches are a big fan of me for some reason," Alaric replies, trying to move.

"Then wait outside," Elena suggests.

"Elena…" He argues, wanting to help her.

"I'm not leaving until I know if he's here," she argues and goes further into the house. Alaric tries going after her but still can't move, so he tries moving backwards. It seems the Witches allow it as he goes outside while Elena goes downstairs. "Damon?" The older Salvatore appears from the shadows.

"Go away. You shouldn't be here, Elena," Damon warns her.

"Damon, I need your help. Bonnie said that you would be here," The human tells him.

"Well, Bonnie sucks at keeping secrets," He grumbles, knowing he shouldn't have told her anything.

"Listen, you need to give Klaus his family back," Elena snaps, growing worried for the people she cares about.

"Oh really? Is that what I need to do?" The sassy Vampire questions, not wanting to do anything to help Klaus.

"Klaus had Alaric get hit by a car by one of his Hybrids. Don't you get it? Damon, he's not going to stop until he gets what he wants…" She argues.

"Elena, stop talking. I'm not giving Klaus anything," Damon snaps angrily.

"Are you listening to me? He's going to kill someone," The Doppelganger retorts, wanting to protect her friends and family.

"Not really my problem," He replies, and Elena angrily slaps him across the face.

"Then you can go to hell," Elena spits and leaves, going out of the Witches' house with Alaric still waiting for her.

"That didn't go over well did it?" Alaric questions, looking at her.

"Don't even start, Alaric," She snaps.

"Let me talk to him," he suggests, looking at the Witches House.

"You can't get in. The Witches won't let you," The Doppelganger argues, looking at him, and he gives her the keys to his car.

"Here. Take my car keys," The Vampire Slayer tells her. "You go deal with your Brother. I'll deal with Damon." He enters the house but stops as if unable to move again and pushes through, making his way through the house downstairs.

"Wow. That was impressive. But the coffins aren't here, so you can go away now," Damon retorts sarcastically.

"I don't care about the coffins. We need to talk," Alaric snaps, not wanting to talk about the Original Hybrid right now.

"Okay. Let's talk," He replies, huffing.

"Nothing's ever easy with you, is it?" The History Teacher questions, looking at his friend, and takes out a stake, hitting Damon in the stomach. Damon shouts in pain, looking down, and Alaric pushes him to the floor, punching the Vampire before dragging the Vampire outside and kicking him.

"That's for getting me killed. Your plans always end up with me getting killed. After failing to kill Klaus, you decide to steal his family. Why? It doesn't make sense. Answer me!" The Vampire Slayer snaps, getting angry at his friend.

"Piece by piece, Klaus took everything from us. I'm doing the same to him," Damon argues, looking at him.

"I know we had him and Stefan ruined it. I get that, but going this far to wind up Klaus isn't the best idea!" Alaric retorts.

"Stefan did it to save me!" He snaps, unleashing on his friend and thinking about how Katherine loved to rub it in his face before she pushed him to the curb.

"What? No. No way. He didn't do this for you," The Vampire Slayer argues, shaking his head.

"Apparently, Klaus was one step ahead of us. If Klaus died, his Hybrids would have killed me," The older Salvatore Brother tells him.

"When are you going to get it through your head?" Alaric asks him and gets another stake out, stabbing Damon in the stomach again, adding to the other. "Stop trying to handle this your way. We need to think about others."

In the woods, Tyler drinks some alcohol as he thinks about what he's doing with his life and what his friends will think about everything. Jeremy spots him, arrives in the woods and joins him. "Don't do it, Jeremy," Tyler warns him, not in the mood for any problems with everything.

"I wanted to see if you were okay," Jeremy argues. "And I wanted to get away from Ed, who is ill in bed."

"Fair enough," He mutters, sharing his drink. "How is Edward?"

"He's doing better," The younger Gilbert replies, taking a gulp. "I'm sorry about Alaric and Elena."

"It's okay. I know everyone hates Klaus, so with him turning me, I apparently am automatically a bad guy." The young Hybrid groans, finding the situation horrible.

"I'm sorry. I know how everyone can be," Jeremy says, returning the drink to him. "They don't understand."

"And you do?" Tyler questions, looking at him. "Because I don't think you realise what I'm going through."

"I'm still stuck in between everything. I may live with Alexis and Edward, but I still feel like I'm involved with everything. I don't like it. But I've accepted that I'm team Klaus," He confesses, looking at Tyler, who looks back at them.

"I can't believe you've said that," Lockwood laughs.

Alaric and Elena arrive home, both unsure of what to do next. "What did you and Damon talk about?" Elena asks him.

"Don't worry about it, Elena, we'll sort everything out. I promise," Alaric assures her, walking into the living room and sitting on the sofa.

"I need to know, Alaric. I have to protect my family. Jenna and Jeremy are falling for Klaus and Lorilei's lies," She argues, and he suddenly starts coughing with a little bit of blood. "Oh my god."

"Something's wrong. The ring," He guesses, looking at the ring, and suddenly falls to the floor. Elena quickly grabs her phone and calls for an ambulance, which quickly arrives, and Elena opens the door to the paramedics.

"What happened?" The Paramedic asks, looking at the Doppelganger.

"He got hit by a car, and he's coughing up blood," Elena tells him, looking at her friend and guardian in a panic as they enter the room and check on their patient, lying on the floor.

"Get his vitals. Pulse thready and weak," He says to his partner. "Looks like internal bleeding. We got to get him out of here. Let's move." Rebekah and Tony arrive after venting the Original's anger and stop at the door, unable to come inside without an invitation.

"Let's not and say we did. Why don't you two meet us at the hospital?" Tony compels the Paramedics to get up and leave the house without treating Alaric, heading to the ambulance.

"What? No. No, no, no. Wait. No, wait. You have to help him," Elena shouts after them, looking at Tony and Rebekah. "What are you doing?"

"You can still save his life, Elena," Rebekah teases her, biting into her wrist. "Here. Take my blood. But... I can't get in. You're going to have to invite me."

"No. Why are you doing this?" She snaps, glaring at Rebekah.

"I asked for our family. You didn't deliver," The Original Vampire spits at her angrily. Alaric coughs more, and Elena rushes over to him.

"Ric! Oh, my god, Ric. I'm right here. Hey. Hey, look," The Doppelganger gasps, looking at him helplessly.

"I would invite one of us in, Elena," Tony tells her. Alaric musters up as much energy as he can and grabs his crossbow, shooting at Tony, who falls onto the porch.

"Alaric…" Elena mutters, looking at him.

"You've been warned, Elena," Rebekah snaps and runs away.

"He's not dead yet," Alaric warns her. "You need to cut off his head."

"What? You're insane!" Elena exclaims.

"You need to do this!" He pleads with her, and she goes into the kitchen, returning with a large knife.

"I can't do this!" She argues, holding onto the knife.

"You have to do this, Elena," The Vampire Slayer tells her, and she goes over to Tony, closing her eyes as she cuts off his head. Blood splatters on her face as Alaric watches. "Now he's dead. We've got to get to the hospital now." He coughs, and Elena drops the knife on the porch, rushing to Alaric's side, still in shock and looking close to crying.

Rebekah urgently rushes into the Pack Den, looking for her Brother, who needs to talk to him about what happened at the Gilbert House. "Nik! Niklaus!" Rebekah shouts for him, rushing through the house. "Nik! We need to talk! Now!"

"What is it, Rebekah?" She hears her Brother's voice behind her and turns around to see him.

"What's going on, Bekah?" Lorilei asks, coming up next to him.

"I tried talking to Elena about returning our family," Rebekah answers, and Klaus groans as he doesn't want her involved. "And Alaric was seemingly dying, but instead of accepting our help, she killed Tony."

"Rebekah, we agreed you'd stay out of this," Klaus retorts, looking at his Sister, angry about Tony dying.

"I know, but I wanted to help," She sulks, and Lorilei sighs.

"We know, Rebekah, but now we've got to think of another way of finding them," Lorelei tells her.

"I'm sorry," The blond Original mutters, hanging her head.

"It's okay, Sister," Klaus assures her, though he doesn't like that it's made it harder to find their siblings. He was giving her a little free range after she accepted that he killed their Mother in a fit of rage after she cursed him. "We need to think of another way like Lorilei said to find them."

"We could follow them for a while," Martin suggests, stepping up. "Sorry to interrupt. But David and I were talking. Some of the others don't mind helping."

"Thank you, Martin. I think that's a great idea," He agrees, looking at Rebekah and Lorilei, who also agree.

"Thank you, Martin. We'll start tomorrow," Lorilei tells him. "We can follow everyone the Doppelganger knows, including herself till we find where Damon is hiding."

"Yes, and when we do, we can have my family back," Klaus agrees. "Thank you, Martin."

"Of course. We don't mind helping. You've both done so much for us," Martin smiles.

"He only turned some of you into Hybrids," Rebekah frowns, still not getting why the Werewolves and Hybrids feel so indebted to her Brother.

"He may have only turned some of us, but you must understand that we don't all enjoy turning. It's painful," he replies. "And he asked us if we wanted to turn. He gave us a choice and a home for all of us. Though that was mainly Lorilei."

"Yes, getting this place done was a pain," Lorilei jokes, making Klaus laugh. Rebekah smiles, seeing how happy her Brother is with Lorilei.

"We should get back to the meeting," Klaus tells them, wrapping his arm around Lorilei.

"Yes. Rebekah, I think you should join us," Martin suggests. "You are a part of the Pack now."

"You won't want to say that when she whines about something," He jokes, earning a slap from his Sister.

"I am not whiny!" Rebekah whines, making the others laugh.

"Come on you two, we need to discuss our next move," Lorilei giggles, moving along the hallway.

"What's for dinner?" She asks suddenly, looking at Martin. Rebekah still lives in the top part of the Pack Den till the house is ready, and she loves helping to cook and the large family dinners, missing them from when her own family had them so many years ago.

"I think Gale said it was curry night. She loves cooking it from scratch apparently from David. The others swear by it," Martin answers, and they go into the meeting room with the other Alphas waiting for them.

"Yeah, my wife makes the best curry," David boasts, making the others laugh. "Her Mother was a chef at the local restaurant where we used to live. I remember going over to theirs after school everyday for years. I think that's how I fell in love with her."

"I'll tell her that," Lorilei jokes, but David's face turns serious and panicked.

"No! Don't!" he yells, making the other Alphas laugh. Klaus looks around the room and feels at home and accepted by the others. He looks at Lorilei, knowing none of this would be possible without her. Klaus wraps his arm around Lorilei's shoulder, pulling her closer.

At the hospital, Alaric is in a bed, dressed in a hospital gown, and looks at his ring, pondering what's going on with it after his strange return from the dead. A woman enters the room, Dr Meredith Fell, coming over to him. "Mr Saltzman. What are you doing up? You should be resting," She warns him, seeing him sitting on the bed.

"Uh, I'm more of a walk-it-off kind of guy," Alaric argues sheepishly. "Ahem. Do I need to sign something?"

"Internal haemorrhaging, 3 broken ribs, and a severe concussion," Meredith lists his injuries. "I have no idea how you're on your feet right now, but I need to run some more tests."

"Actually, I have someplace I need to be. But thank you, Doctor…" He replies and looks at her.

"Fell. But the patients who follow my advice get to call me Meredith," She tells him, smiling stiffly.

"Well, I appreciate your help, Dr Fell," The Vampire Slayer says, though he just wants to leave and make sure that Elena is okay.

"Mr Saltzman... What is your secret? Guardian Angel, or did you sell your soul to the devil?" Dr Fell asks him, curious to know how he survived getting hit by a car.

"Little of both," Alaric replies and grabs his clothes, needing to leave.

Someone knocks on the door of the Boarding House, and Elena opens it to find Klaus, who was expecting Stefan but doesn't realise he is out on a date with Blake at the moment. "What are you doing here, Klaus?" Elena asks, shocked.

"I was looking for Stefan, but it seems he isn't here," Klaus replies, surprising her. "But as you're here. Have you found Damon?"

"I couldn't find him," she lies, not telling him. They hear a car pulling up behind the Hybrid, making them look to see Stefan's car parked. Stefan gets out and opens the passenger door for Blake, who gets out. The couple spots Elena and Klaus at the door, watching them.

"What's going on?" Stefan asks, looking at his friend and ex-girlfriend.

"I was looking for you, mate," Klaus tells him. "But it seems you're busy."

"That's okay. What's wrong?" Blake asks, looking at Elena suspiciously as the Doppelganger glares back at her.

"What are you doing here, Stefan?" Elena asks her ex-boyfriend, who moved out of the house after returning with Klaus.

"We're just stopping by," Stefan replies shortly.

"Glad to hear it. We need to talk," Klaus tells him, and Stefan nods.

"Got it," He mutters, looking at Blake, who smiles in understanding.

"It's okay, we'll finish our date afterwards," Blake suggests, though it is a little late into the night. "Or we can have another one tomorrow."

"I like your thinking," The Vampire smiles, and Elena can't help but frown as she looks at them, never seeing this carefree side to Stefan when they were dating.

"We shouldn't be too long, I promise," Klaus assures them. "We just need to talk about a few things back at the Pack Den." Elena notices this, wondering what the 'Pack Den' is.

Jenna arrives at the hospital, still being Alaric's emergency contact, and she wants him to change it immediately. "So the ring brought you back to life, but it didn't heal you? Does that mean it's broken?" Jenna asks, looking at him as they walk to her car.

"I don't know. It's never happened like that before. I guess I have Caroline's blood to thank. For the fact that I'm still walking," Alaric replies, looking uncomfortable next to his ex-girlfriend.

"She said you owe her a favour," She informs him.

"That's funny. I'd rather have head trauma," He grumbles, thinking about Caroline's unnamed favour. "Hey, Jenna... You okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" The strawberry blond mutters, not wanting to be here. "I have to go grab you from the hospital, which interrupted my dinner with the kids. And you need to change your emergency contact. Because I don't want to have to do this again."

"I am sorry. It's been a little busy for things like that," The History Teacher apologises, feeling guilty about having his ex-girlfriend leave her dinner to come pick him up.

"Good, because if this happens again. I'll leave you there," Jenna warns him, getting into her car. Alaric looks at her, finding her more assertive and stubborn than she was when they first met.

Elena cleans a towel in the sink at home after leaving the Boarding House with Stefan, Blake and Klaus, who returned to the 'Pack Den'. She can't help but think as she looks at the bloody water in the sink when her phone rings. She answers it, seeing that it's Damon who appeared shortly to get rid of the Hybrid's body, though it seems Klaus may be aware of what happened. Still, he didn't take it out on her when he arrived at the Boarding House. "Did you get rid of him?" Elena asks immediately, growing nervous.

"Yeah. Tony, the headless Hybrid's. Now at the bottom of Steven's quarry," Damon informs her, smiling.

"What about Alaric?" She questions, worrying about the History Teacher.

"Took care of him, too. He'll be fine. How are you?" He assures her.

"I think I got most of the blood off the porch," The Doppelganger tells him, looking at the towel that needs to go in the rubbish.

"Elena," The older Salvatore Brother says, gaining her attention. "It's going to be okay."

"I have to tell you something. I saw Klaus at the house earlier," Elena informs him, surprising him.

"What? No, no. No. You didn't tell me that. What happened? Are you okay? What did he want from you?" Damon asks, panicked.

"No, nothing happened. Klaus wanted to find Stefan for something," She replies calmly.

"I see. I wonder what that was about?" He muses.

"I know, but it seems like it was urgent. It must have been about Tony the Hybrid," The human explains. "And they mentioned about a 'Pack Den'. That must be where Klaus' Hybrids are living."

"I see. We'll have to find out where that is," The vindictive Vampire retorts.

"I don't know if that is such a good idea," Elena warns him. "I don't want to anger Klaus even more, Damon."

"Elena…" Damon mutters.

"There has to be another way. I have to fix it," She tells him.

"We will. Hey, Hey, Hey," he assures her. "We will. Okay?"

Lorilei sits at the McKnight house, feeling uncomfortable in her family home, not having stepped food inside since she killed her parents. Lorilei sits in Edward's room on his bed as she soothes him, feeling sorry for him and partially responsible for making him use the dangerous Grimoire of her growing collection. "How are you feeling?" Lorilei asks her Brother, who lies in bed and feels the worst.

"Better," Edward replies, not totally lying.

"That's good. I'm sorry, Edward," She replies, brushing the hair from his forehead.

"What for?" He asks her, enjoying the feeling.

"You wouldn't be like this if I hadn't let you use that Grimoire," The older McKnight argues.

"I didn't give you a choice," The older McKnight twin retorts. "And it was to save you."

"Thank you," Lorilei mutters, kissing his sweaty forehead. I missed you and Alexis. I… lo—" She tries saying it, but those words are so hard to say that she can't say them, but Edward knows.

"We missed you too," Edward replies, smiling at her. "So, did you know Jeremy and Alexis fancy each other?"

Downstairs, Jeremy sits on the sofa, not really watching the TV, when Alexis joins him, not sitting too close. It's been awkward since the Homecoming, and Jeremy confessed to liking her. "Hey. Can we talk?" Alexis asks, making Jeremy look at her and see how nervous she looks.

"Sure, what is it?" Jeremy asks her, moving closer, and he doesn't miss the growing blush on her cheeks.

"I've been thinking about what you said after Homecoming," She replies and turns, looking him in the eye. "Did you mean it?"

"I did. I meant every word. I do like you, Alexis," He confesses and feels the weight lift off his shoulders.

"I like you too, Jer. I've never liked someone before. I've never even dated anyone," The younger McKnight tells him, thinking of her dark past and hating herself a little.

"That's okay. We can take it at your pace, Alexis," The Gilbert boy assures her, not wanting to scare her away.

"Thank you," Alexis mutters, feeling vulnerable and wanting her Brother or Sister to come downstairs, but she feels safe with Jeremy. She really likes Jeremy. "Can we try kissing?" Jeremy looks at her in surprise but smiles, moving a little closer, but not enough to be sitting right next to her. Alexis moves a little closer and leans forward; Jeremy sees how innocent Alexis truly is as he leans toward her and captures her lips softly in a small kiss before pulling away. "That was nice."

"Yeah it was," Jeremy agrees, smiling down at her, and they hear the front door open with a huff. The teens turn to see Jenna stomp into the house, not happy about having to pick up and drop Alaric off like a taxi. "Are you okay, Aunt Jenna?"

"I'm fine," Jenna replies and looks at them, seeing how close they are, and her mood lightens slightly.

"Your dinners in the microwave," Alexis tells her, leaning her head on Jeremy's shoulder, enjoying the moment.

"Thank you," She replies. "I'll leave you too alone," She heads into the kitchen.

"Can we kiss again?" The blond teen asks, looking at Jeremy, who cups her face before leaning in for another kiss.

Damon and Bonnie are downstairs in the basement of the abandoned Witches House, looking at the coffins. The Bennett Witch sees the one Klaus was inside in her dream and slowly steps towards it. "This is the one I dreamed of," She confirms, not realising how much danger she could create from just opening it. Bonnie tries lifting the lid, but it won't budge, not even a millimetre.

"Don't bother. It won't open," Damon tells her.

"What do you mean, is it locked?" She questions, looking at it.

"Nope. It just won't open," He repeats. "I've tried everything... Blow torch, axe, crowbar. I can't even scratch the finish."

"That means it's closed with a spell," The Bennett Witch concludes the obvious.

"You mean whatever's in there should probably stay there," The older Salvatore Brother guesses, unhappy about it.

"You said you wanted to make him suffer. The Witches led me here for a reason. I think whatever's inside this coffin is our answer," Bonnie argues, looking at the locked coffin.

Lorilei gets into the hotel bed and waits for Klaus to come out of the bathroom so they can go to bed. Klaus comes out and jumps into the bed beside Lorilei, seeing the serious look on her face since speaking to her younger siblings. "I feel like a horrible person," Lorilei mutters, lying on the pillow.

"And why is that, Love?" Klaus asks her, seeing her mood dampen since returning from her childhood home.

"I let Edward use that cursed Grimoire to save my life, and he's feeling the withdrawal of the power," She explains, and he looks at her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest.

"He did it to save you, because he loves you," He argues, kissing the crown of her head. "He'll be okay. He's a McKnight, and it seems you're hard to take down."

"True. We McKnigths are a hard lot," The Siphon retorts, smiling.

"We'll be okay," The Original Hybrid assures her. "We'll find them."

"I know, but it's the fact that Damon has them and could do anything to them that has me so worried," Lorilei argues. Klaus agrees that is the main reason he wants his siblings back.

"There's something else," Klaus tells her, making her look at him.

"What?" She asks.

"The other coffin has someone inside," He confesses, and she looks at him.

"Who? Who is inside, Nik?" The older McKnight questions, growing concerned at the worried look on his face.

"No one good," The Mikaelson Hybrid answers.

"I don't like that answer whatsoever," Lorilei groans, burying her face into his neck.

"I wouldn't either. Because if they have their hands on it and open it, we're all doomed," Klaus warns her.

"Then we need to know where they're hiding them," She replies, smiling.

"And how would we do that?" He wonders, looking at her.

"We follow them. If that doesn't work. We hurt a few more people," The Siphon retorts, making him laugh.

"This is why I keep you around," The Original Hybrid jokes, and she smiles, kissing him.

"Is that the only reason?" Lorilei asks, and he moves his hand down under the covers.

"No. There are many more reasons," Klaus replies, looking at her. "We are made for each other, I think."
