The McKnight family, a family of witches that are old friends of the Bennett witches, Lorilei McKnight, the black sheep of the family and coven. Lorilei once banished from stepping foot inside the town border of Mystic Falls till the sudden death of Sheila Bennett after the McKnight parents' mysterious death, and she will make them all pay. PERSONALITY

Lorilei as a teenager, was a shy young girl that was abused by her parents behind closed doors and was timid of even shadows.

After her parents' deaths, Lorilei became angry and cold as she was cast from her home town and she made her way from the city, meeting Elijah, who took her in and settled in New York.

Lorilei opened up to the Original, showing her witty and sarcastic comebacks that roll off the tongue, and he brings out the kind and caring person that will do anything to protect those she sees as important.

As Lorilei grew up into a young woman in university, she showed her intelligence which shows when she corrects one of her professors. Lorilei gained many friends over her time at university. They love her level-headedness when she plays on the soccer team, even making bold choices under pressure as she remains calm and collected.

Once Lorilei left university, she got a job at another university; she showed her students their place the moment Lorilei walked inside the room with her brutally honest remarks that the blond uses with her cunning mind, and she didn't back down with the other older professors. Though she only shows her playful and carefree side with Elijah and later his siblings.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Lorilei is a tall, slender young woman in her late-20s with long blond hair that reaches the middle of her back, fair skin and light blue eyes. When Lorilei was 20, she got a tattoo of a pink blooming flower up her spine and a mandala design behind her left ear.

Lorilei likes to wear dark colours, saying it goes with her dark past and current mood; she always wears something innovative, having lived with Elijah for a long time. She loves wearing high heels; even when she wears boots, they usually have a heel, though Lorilei complains if she has to wear something flat. Lorilei doesn't wear anything that doesn't have a brand name, which makes her friends often wonder how much money her father figure has to spare, though she has her own money once she gets her job.

POWER AND ABILITIES

Lorilei possesses the ability to absorb a witch's power and use it as her own. This could kill said witch if Lorilei were to drain all of the witch's power for her needs. Aside from this ability, Lorilei has no other magical powers of her own. She can only practice magic by stealing the magical power of others, active spells and magical objects.

Lorilei, not wanting to depend on her little magic, was taught how to fight to defend herself against others; Elijah tried to protect her but knew he won't always be there, and she learned in self-defence and hand-to-hand combat. Lorilei later decides to learn how to shoot a gun, becomes a master marksman and takes good care of her GLOCK 17 that she keeps with her, having a gun permit.

Lorilei has learned three different languages apart from English; she knows the language of the witches, having studied many Grimoires. Traditional and Spirit Magic is spoken in an ancient language similar to Latin. And witches of the Nine Covens of New Orleans, which practices Ancestral Magic, perform their spells in French or French Creole. Travellers practice Traveler Magic and typically perform their spells in a language similar to Czech.

WEAKNESSES

Siphoning: This ability also doubles as a weakness; siphoners that have siphoned and gained magic from another source can be siphoned themselves and the magic taken from them.

Distraction: Denying a witch from concentrating or giving full attention to their spells may render it ineffective.

Herbs: Ingestion of certain herbs can cause a witch to lose consciousness and prevent them from using magic for an undetermined amount of time. The Lobelia flower prevents a witch from being able to focus and concentrate, which is necessary to effectively cast spells, making it a common herb used in the weakening of a witch in the same manner as someone would use vervain to weaken a vampire. Other herbs will temporarily mute or suppress the use of magic, though the length of time the herbs are effective is based on the strength of the witch in question.

Huntress' Blood: A supernatural huntress' blood can suppress all magic of a witch when consumed, as well as prevent magic from working on said witch. Prolonged ingestion is toxic and ultimately leads to the death of the witch. Once black scabs appear on their body, the infected witches have less than a week of life, similar to how Vampires react to Werewolf Venom. There is no known cure to combat this disease.

Mortality: Siphoners, like any witch, are still human and thus share many of the same weaknesses as non-supernatural beings (e.g. age, decapitation, disease, heart failure, suffocation, etc.).

Magic: Siphoners are just as susceptible to the forces of witchcraft as any other being. This includes mystical objects such as Papa Tunde's Blade and Dark Objects.

Physical Contact: Siphoners need physical contact with their source to siphon from them. This can be overcome through the use of magic-containing amulets that can be worn with them to be siphoned in defence.

Staff of Arcadius: An ancient Mesopotamian tuning fork capable of producing a high frequency that has some minor effects on witches and siphoners, giving them painful headaches.

TRIVIA

Lorilei left Mystic Falls at age 16 after being cast out of the town and made her way to New York, where she attended Trinity School and later Columbia University.

Lorilei loves to read fictional books, watch horror movies, not sappy romance movies, and especially DC themes, her favourite overall.

Lorilei loves designer brands; she doesn't own any piece of clothing without one.

Lorilei loves Autumn, meaning she can sleep in later, and she loves to celebrate Halloween. She hates cold weather, preferring hot weather.

Lorilei loves listening to music; she doesn't have a favourite genre.

Lorilei loves drinking coffee; she drinks 6 cups daily, which worries Elijah.

Lorilei researches spooky supernatural stories for both pleasures and classes.

Lorilei loves to draw and paint, and on her days off, will go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Lorilei collects Grimoires and has over a hundred, and enjoys reading them from time to time.

Lorilei loves teaching, but the part she hates the most is grading papers.

Lorilei, unfortunately is a smoker, though she promises Elijah to quit.
