A/N: This is a variation of the last bit; because folks were crying for another Rider.
Leg's getting worse, but I'm still pecking away at things. Better yet, now I have help in the form of co-writers again~! Several, at that. Ronin is working on "Remnants of a Shinobi," Slifer is helping with "I'm Still Here" and Dark helps with the occasional bit of beta-ing when needed.
I should have some of the bigger stories ready very soon. Hope you're looking forward to it!
As ever we're still sticking to the "Embers" rule here, folks. If folks don't like this...well, I won't continue something no one likes. Every review, every comment, no matter how large or small, keeps me writing in spite of my busy work schedule. I don't get days off anymore, so I try to respond when I can, but lately it feels like this has become a job in and of itself; albeit one I don't get paid for, one that it is often thankless...
So here, have a fragment that may or may not come to be, given the reception.
To be clear, this one hails from a potential future in "A Most Unlikely Card."
As ever, I own no quotes, references, media or memes.
Noooope! Not a wit or one.
Hope you enjoy this!
"I don't understand? Why me? I'm tall. Ugly. Unsightly. There's nothing appealing about me.
...for a woman with mystic eyes, you really can be blind sometimes.
"You cannot simply say-
"Nope! I deny your denial!"

A Most Unlikely Dress
Rider looked good in white.
Like, really, really, REALLY good.
The kind of good that only came around once in a lifetime, ya know?
That last one...was not a particularly eloquent thought, but it was the best Naruto could come up with, stood here at the altar. She was coming closer. His throat clogged and for once he couldn't find it in him to speak. His feet all but rooted themselves to the ground, which was probably a good thing, because if he ran away now she'd absolutely slaughter him. Assuming Lancer, Archer, or Saber didn't get to him first...no, that was definitely Archer whistling from the galley.
"See, see!" Nobunaga grinned, waving a musket in the air. "Told you she'd show! I'd expect nothing less! Pay up, Okita!"
Credit where it was due, Medusa didn't flinch when their allies cheered her on. Even when the veil was lifted she shifted only a little. But those eyes...they never left him. Her body radiated tension and he knew she'd be back to cracking skulls come morning, but here, in this moment, she just looked so...
...beautiful."
Medusa's piercing gaze widened.
"Keep staring and I'll turn you to stone."
It was the straw that broke the camel's back. Naruto couldn't help but bark a laugh. Her threat lacked the rancor it once held; the very same words she'd once said during more tumultuous times...minus the faint hint of pink dusting her cheek. He could see the signs, the little twists of her knees as she fidgeted under so much attention now, just as she had then. It felt like a lifetime ago.
But they were older now, the both of them...and she was about to...oh, dear.
When she stepped to him, and he didn't budge. His hands linked with hers to tug her yet closer. She responded by raising her arms, linking them behind his neck now. Her forehead touched his. The scent of her flooded his nose and he became suddenly, intimately aware of her body pressed against.
The priest might've muttered something. He barely heard the man's words.
...I do." Naruto made to yanked her in, but Medusa beat him to it.
Her lips crashed against his.
A/N: Funny little proposal. Hope it warms your heart in these crazy, crazy times.
And there we go. With luck, I'll see you guys and gals again in a few hours.
So...in the immortal words of Atlas...
...Revieeeeew, Would You Kindly?
No previews. Not this time.
So terribly busy.
R&R! =D
