A/N: Well, I was GOING to update What Could Have Been today, but something came up.

See? Double Update.

Sadly, "Lies are Entertainment" didn't get much in the way of feedback today...

That said, I'm gearing up to update "Everybody Wants to be my Enemy" and "What Could have Been" soon.

Unless you'd like another RWBY update first. Lemme know~!

As ever, I own no references, themes or memes!

And so, with that said...away we go~!

Minor verbatim here.

AND SPOILERS!

"I never would have given them to you. Not for anything.

"Don't cry. You're perfect."

Second Fragment

Death was a rather like drowning, Silco found.

Here at the end, he didn't even feel pain. With so many bullets riddling his body, everything was numb. There was no suffering here, at the end. He had seconds -moments!- to live at best. With each passing instant his life slipping away, but he spent them enough. Time enough to console Jinx. To tell her not to cry. To remind that she always ways, and always had been...

...perfect."

His good eye closed and the darkness took him.

There was peace in death. Like water, he could feel it holding him, whispering in low tones to let it in. Once he did, every problem in the world would fade away. Just let go.

But there was something in his head. Raging. Lighting every nerve with madness. To fight. To survive.

And all the while a question lingered before him. Had enough?

He'd faced that question once, years ago. It wasn't her fault. He wasn't angry at Jinx. He could never BE angry with her. But she'd be alone now. And somehow...that thought...that realization that the girl -his daughter!- that he'd come to love above all else would be alone in this rotten world...that hurt more than anything else.

Was that right?

No.

Was that fair?

No, no.

Was it just?

No, no, no.

Something burned in his chest. His dying heart stammered out a beat. Follow by another. Yet another. Live. He raged against the dying of the light. Don't go. Not like this. He wasn't ready to sleep. His ambitions could die in a fire for all he cared. But not Jinx. No. Never Jinx. She didn't deserve this.

"That's right," a low, drawling voice hummed in his ear. "You're not dead quite yet."

The world swam back into focus for Silco, blurry and twisted. "Where...?"

His right eye fluttered open.

Even as he felt his wounds mending, he heard Jinx make a distressed noise. "What're you doing?!"

"Me?" Someone answered her, not that blasted enforcer girl, nor Vi, but a man. "Righting a wrong, burning a city, that sort of thing."

Distantly, Silco heard Vander's girl protest. "Don't help him! He's a monster! He'll be better off dead-

The heavy sound of clenched knuckles barreling into flesh silenced the fool girl.

Something twisted in Silco's chest. He lurched in his chair with a gasp.

For a fleeting moment he beheld a young blond youth bearing blue eyes and whiskered cheeks. A strange sort, clad in a coat of many colors. A pair of curved crimson horns jutted forth form his head, shining in the low light of the room. He raised a finger for silence, mouth curving in a cheery grin as he gasped for breath.

"Wake the hell up, Silco." His smile was chaos itself. "We've got a city to burn."

Silco tried to speak. Words failed him as the blond suddenly made way.

Jinx slammed into him, babbling as she buried her head in his chest.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

A/N: To clarify, that was NGH -Not Going Home!- Naruto there at the end fucking about with things.

A story that never quite came about.

So? Whatcha think? Did this put a smile on your face?

Surgery hurts. Surgery hurts a loooot. But silence from readers and reviewers? That hurts even more.

As ever, reviews keep this old man alive during this dark and crazy time. I ain't joking.

Seriously, we're all locked away anyways these days, its all that sustains me.

...do you even remember? The friendship we had? The oath we made? You were my brother!"

"I remember. But it seems you've forgotten something. This is wrong."

"And you're going to stop me? Kill me?"

"No. We're going to talk this over like adults. I have kids too, ya know...

"I still believe in loyalty."

A hand caught the rocket in midflight.

"Now, now, be careful. Someone might get hurt."
