A/N: Please excuse any errors, didn't sleep well.

Leg's getting worse, but I'm still pecking away at things.

Better yet, now I have help in the form of co-writers again~! Several, at that. Ronin is working on "Remnants of a Shinobi," Slifer is helping with "I'm Still Here" and Dark lends the occasional bit of beta-ing when needed. Might take on a few more writers to help with things, but things are beginning to even out around here finally.

I should have some of the bigger stories ready soon.

As ever we're still sticking to the "Embers" rule here, folks. If folks don't like this...well, I won't continue something no one likes. Every review, every comment, no matter how large or small, keeps me writing in spite of my busy work schedule. I don't get days off anymore, so I try to respond when I can, but lately it feels like this has become a job in and of itself; albeit one I don't get paid for, one that it is often thankless...

As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes or memes! Now then, with that said...awaaaay we go~!

Again, this is merely a fragment out of time...

Something that was never made.

Ninth Fragment

BOOM!

As far explosions went it wasn't a half bad one Vander felt; loud, sharp, and full of so much noise that he actually went deaf for a moment. He certainly got a faceful of it. Flinging up an arm did little to shield his face, but it at least let him keep his vision for the moment. Rather than fire and flame, he found himself pelted with pain and glue. Vi and Mylo gave a yelp in the background; Claggor was too close to the door -and him!- and got a healthy helping of orange for his troubles.

"See?!" A boy's cheery voice rang above him in the rafters. "Told ya. More paint, less screws."

Powder thumbed her chin. "Guess you were right. What about the feathers? It didn't work."

...wait for it."

Not a heartbeat later, a bucket came crashing down on Vander's head, showering him in heavy down. Feathers clung to the paint and glue; to anyone else he must've looked like one very angry chicken. Laughter rumbled out across the Last Drop. He never knew who started it and didn't care. The bar had long since grown used to their...pranks.

The kids giggled from their perch. Less so when he began to tap his foot. "Alright, you two. Get down here."

A young Naruto tilted his head, grinning from ear to ear. "And if we don't?"

He reached for the ladder. "Don't make me come up there...!

There was only one word for it. "Scatter!"

They bolted.

A/N: Hope it made you smile.

Weeeell? Did you like it? Yay or nay?

A fragment, something that may or may not come to be.

As ever, reviews keep this old man alive during this dark and crazy time. I ain't joking.

Seriously, we're all locked away in isolation or worse these days, words are all that sustains me.

So in the Immortal Words of Atlas... Review...Would You Kindly?

Still no previews this time. Too depressed.

Feel's like the world's gone crazy.

R&R~!
