A/N: Short little blurb here, hope it makes you smile.
Foxfire and Orange Blasphemy aren't quite ready yet -they're long chapters- so I'm updating a slew of other stories today. Terribly sorry about that.
Hours got cut at one job, which meant I had to turn around and pick up MORE hours at the other job, which means no sleep today. *head spins*
In other news...
As my fifteen year anniversary on this site draws near, I find myself reflecting on the little things in life. What was once a lazy pastime meant for me and a few friends really grew and evolved over time. There are days when I look back on the last fifteen years here and I wonder if anyone will remember me; if I made an impact, despite never making a single cent on any of these stories. Some days were happier than others, and some stories I enjoyed writing WAY too much; to the point where I'd stay up all night working on them.
And of course, there are times when I look to the future and wonder what will become of things when I'm gone.
Of course, I try not to dwell on the latter overmuch; I'm still alive and still writing. In an ideal world, I'd like to keep doing so for as long as I can. But old age is catching up to me and these days, the world is filled with so much madness and death. The recent earthquake in Turkey/Syria serves as a terrible example. Even before that, so many friends and fellow writers I once knew are gone, now. Will I still be here in twenty years? Ten? Five? Its a chilling thought. But for now, I'm still here, still writing.
This is a rough draft. Time and feedback will determine if this becomes a story.
In other words...its up to YOU, the reader. Do let me know~!
Here, hope you enjoy Young!Naruto and Young!Jinx!
"You know what they say. Madness is...contagious.

Fourteenth Fragment
"Put the cookie down!"
Naruto considered it. He really, truly did. Honest to god. Unfortunately for Jinx, it was the last one in the jar. He'd had to wait until the orphanage lady was distracted and even then, he had to climb all the way up here -top of the fridge- to get it. Also unfortunate...for her. He didn't see any reason to give up the goods now, not when his prize was within his reach.
He waved it back and forth, watching her wild violet eyes track him. "Make me."
"I saw it first!"
"You did," he granted the blue-haired girl a grave nod as only a child could, "But I grabbed it first. Finders keepers."
Jinx absolutely twitched. "You eat that whiskers, and its war."
Heh. All was fair in love and war, they say.
"Hmm." he grinned...
"Don't you do it!"
.
..
...and snapped it in clean down the middle.
A quick flick of his wrist launched it at Jinx's still open mouth, plugging her startled shout before she could finish her yelp. From there he kicked down off the fridge and alighted nimbly beside her. Wild eyes flitted to him. Down the cookie currently wedged between her teeth. Back to him again. He saw the confusion there.
Naruto hummed and took a bite of his own half. "Satisfied?"
Jinx made happy Jinx noises as she nibbled on her treat.
He patted the shorter girl's head. "Good girl."
A/N: There we go.
Something less depressing this time.
Weeeell? Did it bring a smile to your face? Yay or nay?
Consider this a fragment, something that may or may not come to be.
As ever, reviews keep this old man alive during this dark and crazy time. I ain't joking.
Seriously, we're all locked away in isolation or worse these days, words are all that sustains me.
So in the Immortal Words of Atlas... Review...Would You Kindly?
Still no previews this time. Too much madness.
R&R~!
