A/N: ...I am not alright today.

Because you see, my Aunt's funeral is today. Posting these plot bin updates eariy, as I'm likely to be a mess for the rest of the day.

I've taken to drowning my sorrows in writing and drink, so apologies for any errors here.

As ever, I own no quotes, references, quotes, themes or memes!

They're simply tributes to legends far, far, FAR greater than little 'ol me.

I'm just an old man who writes as a pastime. I don't make any money doing this, not a single cent.

This is ALL done for free. Time and feedback will determine if this fragment becomes a story.

Teaser is from Dirt in Your Eye. Hope you enjoy it, may it bring some light to your life.

Answer the Call and Whatever Comes Our Way need more time.

"Truth be told I...no...never mind, its nothing."

"Doesn't sound like nothing to me, Lae'zel."

"I'm glad you came back, alright?!"

Dirt in Your Eye (Teaser)

The creche awaited.

Lae'zel was anxious for it, eager for purification, but also anxious; not that she'd ever reveal it to her...

.

..

...what were these people to her, exactly? Traveling companions?

The blond boy -Naruto!- insisted they were friends, but were they really?

He was acceptable company, but would she cast them aside for her kin when the time came? She wasn't sure.

Not after that battle with her kin on the bridge.

It had been...well...glorious. Just thinking of it made her blood sing.

"So about this goddess of yours." Naruto walked past her, ever advancing toward the monastery. "I don't have much faith in her. Or any of the gods really, With very few exceptions. If your precious Vlaakith is so powerful, then why not cure us outright?"

She glowered at him. "The Zaith'isk shall do so."

"Which you won't tell me about."

This again? "I am sworn by covenant to say no more."

He flicked a pitying look her way. "If you say so...

"I do say so!" she stomped a foot and pivoted in place to block him. "Why do you insist on riling me so?! Fool of a boy!"

Naruto stopped short on the bridge ahead of her, shoulders tense.

A ways behind her, she heard their companions pipe up.

"Oh, dear...

"Should we do something?"

"Are you mad?! I want to watch."

"Careful, now." he turned to face her and his voice adopted a low, dangerous thrum, one that threateaned to set her very blood ablaze. "You're fun, but I'm not gonna let you insult me, ya know; my patience has a limit."

She jutted her chin out in defiance, teeth bared. "And what limit is that?"

Something flashed through his eyes, and for a moment she thought she might at last have the battle she sought.

It was not to be.

...you don't wanna find out."

He shook his head and turned away.

How dare he deny her! She'd never forgive him!

With that, the last fraying thread of her patience snapped.

Lae'zel lunged at him and tackled him off the bridge.

The world dissolved into a slurry of red violence.

A/N: Aaaaaand scene.

Well? Should this become a story? Yay or nay, what say you? Not much else to say this time 'round. Reviews keep me writing, and without them, my inspiration falls flat. Ever bit of feedback helps. Pain hurts. Pain hurts a loooot. But silence from readers and reviewers? That hurts even more. As ever, reviews keep this old man alive during these dark and crazy times.

Seriously, we're all locked away anyways these days, feedback is all that sustains me.

So in the Immortal Words of Atlas... Review...Would You Kindly?

No previews this time; I haven't the heart for them...T_T
