A/N:...still alive.
Vacation begins today, posting a few things before I go, should be back by Sunday.
Having a few friends look after the house for me in the meantime, as a favor. They're good lads.
I'll be taking my computer with me, so I'll try to post if possible, but I can make no promises. October really messed up my update schedule with all those crises happening one after the other, I'm hoping the next few months will be better. I am TRYING to catch up in November, but everything is all over the place.
Alas, it seems site notifications are busted at the moment.
Folks get them in the app, but not on the web browser, which is becoming a proper pain for some of us. Hopefully they'll fix it soon...though it has been almost a month days with no response about the emails...
If this chapter gets a ton of feedback as well-hopefully!-then I'll do my best to ensure a weekly update again. If not...I don't know. I really don't.
Amazing what a bit of feedback can do. Really spurs me to write faster.
In other news depression's starting to hit real hard these days. I've been writing here for fifteen years and yet sometimes I wonder why I do anything at all. I can't claim to understand what's going wrong with my head. I don't even know why! One moment I'm fine, then my mood craters for a few hours, then I'm back again for a bit, and the cycle repeats. Its rather annoying; as though I've become a prisoner in my own mind sometimes. Sure, what's one more mental problem on the pile. Not like I don't have enough, what with already being this old. Feels like every day is a battle sometimes. My doctor is of no help at all. Can't find a proper therapist to save my life.
Trying to find a decent an AFFORDABLE one is absolute hell, and its driving me bonkers. *siiiigh* Don't mind the rambling of this geezer...
As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes, or memes. Not a wit or a one!
They're tributes to legends far greater than little old me.
"There is nothing so foolish or fleeting as the human spirit.
It is that same spirit which drives us to great feats...
...and acts of superhuman strength.

And Atlas Shrugged
Atlas came tumbling down.
Naruto had a perfectly good view of it as the ten thousand tonnes of metric rock and city barreled down into his face
"It over!" Cinder laughed behind him, a wild demented shriek from where she lay sprawled in the street. "You've lost!" Even with her arms and legs broken, the so-called Fall Maiden still had the gall to sneer at him despite the damage he'd done to her. "This is what you deserve!" her lone golden eye glared hatefully up at him. "You never had a chance of beating me! If I have to die, then so do youuuurk?!
The blond mule-kicked backward, smashing her into a building, where she slumped, unconscious. Annoying brat. If she wasn't a Maiden, he would've killed her by now.
Kurama coughed in his ear. "Running out of time here! Look alive!"
Right, right. Falling city on his head. Best be getting on that.
The evacuation wasn't anywhere near complete.
He couldn't let it fall.
People will die!
He touched a finger to his earpiece. "Sorry, Winter. Looks like that drink's gonna have ta wait awhile...assuming this doesn't kill me."
It would be simpler to destroy the city, but he couldn't; because there were people up there, just as their were down here. He could taste their terror, their fear, and though it saddened him, he refused to let himself be dragged down by it.
A familiar gasp greeted him him. "Naruto, no! Don't you dare!"
His smile became slightly chagrined. "M'sorry."
He had to dare. 'After all, if I don't...
...who will?"
Kurama was out of chakra after that little stunt earlier. But he wasn't. He was a shinobi, no, more than that, he was ninja. He had been given centuries to study in his mind while he was trapped in that damn mountain, an such time had not been wasted. A muscle jumped in his jaw, trembling alongside a vein in his temple. Watts and Cinder thought themselves clever with their little trick, did they? Well, he'd show them. Didn't matter that he had Tyrion's tainted poison burning in his veins, nor the dull ache in his bones from Hazel's last assault. He'd outlasted them all. Now...
.
..
...he did what must be done.
He did not hesitate. Moreover, he showed no mercy.
"C'mon, body." he clenched a trembling scarred fist before his face and pressed his forehead to it. "Don't give out on me now...
Then he took a page from Gai's handbook. Chakra erupted around him in an azure corona of light.
One gate opened, and soon one became two.
Followed by three. Four now.
Five...Six.
SEVEN.
He tore his jacket off as his skin boiled red, spread his arms, planted his feet, grit his teeth...and uttered a single word.
"COME!"
A man caught Atlas.
And the whole of Remnant trembled.
A/N: Aaaaand scene. Hope you enjoyed!
Hope you enjoyed this little tease. Soooo? Should this be a story? Once again! This is an AU.
Hope someone, somewhere, enjoyed this. I just don't know anymore these days. Its terribly hard to tell...
So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...Review...Would You Kindly? Let me know what you think!
Only a few previews this time around. Lets see what folks think of this.
