A/N:...hey. Please read this note, would you kindly? It would mean the world to me.

We're doing something a little different here. THREE SEPARATE TEASERS. Namely for Untraveled Road, Don't Judge A Book by its Cover AND Take the Girl. It was either this, or nothing today. Mind you, these teasers are rough.

Feedback is very much appreciated, all.

I'm a mess, I feel like death warmed over, and nothing is ready to post. No Devils Here, Welcome to Heaven, New Gods of Remnant, Take the Girl, Untraveled Road, and Book by its cover are nearly ready, but if I were to release them now, they would be a hot mess.

I've got folks suggesting I set up a P. A. T. R. E. O. N. but I'm just not sure. In all the sixteen years that I've been here, I've never once accepted money...I just don't know.

To make matters worse, my aunt may have been laid to rest, but it seems this year isn't done messing with me yet: I've now been informed that my sister -the one who lives with me- needs to have several tumors removed forthwith, which means she'll be off for at least a month, which MEANS I have to work even more hours to make up the difference in rent/expenses/electricity and etc. I'm already working crazy hours at both jobs, but now I'll need even more, which means no days off for a bit, most likely...life is just peeling pieces of me as of lately and it hurts...

So here we go. The fate of this story depends on you, the reader. Your feedback determines the fate of this tale, and many others.

As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes or memes. Not a wit or one. They're tributes, one and all.

I'm just a humble author trying to make his way in this wild world, one word at a time.

Time and feedback will determine if this remains a story. Simple as that.

In other words...its up to YOU, the reader. Do let me know~!

And first we haaaaaave

"Welcome home~!"

(Untraveled Road Teaser/Mongrels and Maidens)

Winter was walking.

Running, really. There could be no prouder moment in a parent's like than this.

She toddled about without a care in the world, under the watchful eye of Willow and the rest. As for him? He was in charge of the camera...

.

..

...also a certain scorpion faunus. "Tyrian, be careful!"

"I promise not to sting her~!"

He rolled his eyes, but kept filming, content to let Winter tug at Tyrian's tail, so long as he kept his stinger sheathed in a pillow. The man might be mad, but he was THEIR madman. Just like Watts in a sense; both could be eccentric, foppish, even a touch arrogant at times, but better to put his gifts to use here than turn him loose in the world. He shuddered to think what might happen had Salem found them first.

Handing the camera off to a shadow clone, he fixed his lieutenant with a stern glare. "I'll be right back. Guard her with your life, you hear me?"

The faunus saluted. ""As my lord and savior commands!

None of that." Willow tutted and held out her arms, gaining their daughter's attention. "Winter, dear! Come see mommy!"

The two-year-old toddled her way. Naruto wasn't blind to the burning gaze on his gack.

He rolled his eyes, sat down, and patted his knee. "Come here, Cinder."

There was no hesitation; his foster daughter hopped into his lap without so much as a second thought. He absently steadied her back with one hand and patted her head with the other. Her trust humbled him sometimes, it really did. She'd come a long way from that feisty, fiery, frightened urchin who'd snatched his meal down in Mantle.

Roman hooted. "Ha! Daddy's girl!"

Cinder snapped her fingers; a fireball flew forth to clipp his shoulder, sparked off his aura, and sent him flying across the room, knocking him into Sienna.

"Ohhh, you bitch! I liked that coat!

"Don't look at me, you arse! You're the one that pissed her off!"

"Language." he looked back to Cinder. "I'm going to be stepping up your training."

Her gaze lit up. Quite literally. He could see the Maiden flames fanning in her eyes, trailing out in wisps of heat. "I like training. Will it make me more powerful?"

"Unbelievably. But if you don't want that...

"No!"She gripped his metal arm with both hands, eyes burning. "I want that! I WANT ALL OF THAT!"

Willow's scroll clicked behind him, heralding the photo she'd just taken of them. Naruto sighed. "This is my life now...

(THIRD TEASER/Don't Judge a Book By its Cover.)

They hit without warning, with neither word nor pause.

A yellow flash barreled into Kushina.

"Minato?!"

(.0.0.0.)

Blake felt her ears twitch.

For a moment there, just a second she could've sworn she heard someone moan.

It almost sounded like Naruto's mother. That was absurd of course. Right? Had to be?

She idly ran a hand through her hair as she considered herself in the mirror. Her hair really was getting too long. Perhaps she should cut it.

Sometimes it amazed her just how much her life had changed; she wasn't simply looking for a boyfriend but a partner; a confidant, someone who understood her. Their relationship had evolved well past that now. She could see herself spending the rest of her life with him. And wasn't that a thought? After all they'd been through.

Children?

Children!

Children. She worried her lower lip between her teeth as she considered the matter. Maybe not right now but soon. Her scroll vibrated. Yang again? Her team was out for the day, so who...?

"Do you like long hair?"

Naruto's head poked up over the book he'd been reading. "What kind of question is that?"

"Its a simple question." Blake ran a hand through her hair, glancing his way out the corner of her eye. "I could always cut it...?"

Naruto flung himself at her, landed on his knees, and skidded to halt just out of kicking range. "Don't you dare!"

"What will you give me if I don't?"

"My unconditional love?"

"Hmm...

He caught sight of her teasing smile

It was...good to focus on the simpler things for once.

"Oh, please. So long as no one says any words starting with "W" or "F", we'll be just fine.

"Guys!" Ruby hurtled around the corner in a storm of petals. "Roman was right! We found a crater and White Fang and a train!"

Blake whirled, eyes wide, all thoughts of intimacy forgotten. "White Fang?!"

Naruto slapped his forehead. "Look! Look what you've done!"

(THIRD TEASER/ Prepare the Girls)

Showtime.

Naruto took a moment, adjusted his smile in the mirror, clapped his face with both hands. "How do I look?"

Yang flicked him a thumbs up. "Awesome!

Well, that was as good praise as he'd get.

He paced to the door and flung it open.

His first thought of Ghira Belladona was thus. BIG. The man absolutely loomed over him in that chest-bearing getup of his; a lifetime ago, he might've been intimidated. By contrast his wife, Kali, was downright petite. The contrast almost made him do a double take.

"Hello~!" he sang happily. "You must be Kali and Ghira. Do come in. Oh, is that your daughter?" he sketched a bow to the little girl clinging to Ghira's hand; the best of both her parents. "My Yang's about the same age. I think she's hiding somewhere around here...

"Hi!" she poked her head over his shoulder, grinning ear to ear. "I'm Yang!"

Little Blake tilted her head, startled by the display. "Hello...?"

Kali smiled softly. "She's an energetic one...

And who's this with her?

"This is Adam."

The younger met his gaze evenly. Bold boy.

And the girl? No, wait. You spoke of her over the phone." He was sure her parents had.

"Miss Illia Amitola, was it? Welcome to Haven. Or should I say Sanctum...?"

The girl beamed and her skin flushed with shy glee. Literally. "Hello...

"Well, well." he laughed a little. "Another Faunus! By all means, come in! You'll fit in just fine with Yuma and Trifa...

Meeting them in his office was probably for the best; at least here he needn't worry about any bugs or prying eyes and noisy cameras. He'd consiered showing them around Haven but thought better of it for now. Perhaps later, once he had the teams settled and sorted...

"Its a pleasure to meet you, Headmaster." Kali gasped his right hand between hers and shook it gently.

...greetings." the giant faunus gripped his palm and squeezed hard; a gesture he reciprocated in kind until he felt the man's aura begin to trickle away under his grasp. "You have a strong grip."

"Stop that! Kali smacked his aren't here to cause trouble, remember?"

"Yes, of course. My apologies. I forgot myself."

Don't mind my Ghira. He's always been rather enthusiastic, shall we say. Sienna wanted to be here, but unfortunately she fell ill...why don't we let the children play while we talk business?"

It would prove to be a looooong afternoon.

And what came after? Even moreso.

The arrival of a baleful blond.

Taiyang.
