Hello all. At the time of writing this, I have seen both seasons of the rebooted Total Drama Island. And I assume that if you're reading this, so have you. And if you haven't seen season two, you can watch it legally on Youtube on the CBBC channel. Season one was a very good return to form season and while I did have some issues with it, it's an overall great improvement to the stuff that came before it (namely All-Stars and Pahkitew).

Season two, on the other hand, for all the stuff it got right, left a lot to be desired. I'll discuss some of my issues near the end, but it's definitely not a great follow up season. I don't think it's as bad as those previously mentioned seasons, but I was hoping for more.

That being said, it did give me some inspiration for writing a new season. Namely, my own version of Total Drama Island reboot season two. I have most of the story planned and writing this first chapter was a lot of fun. Bear in mind that I'm still sticking to the format these seasons gave me. IE: more times with challenges, less times for characters speaking outside of the challenge and a bigger focus on comedy. I think it's only fair and surprisingly wasn't that hard to do.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

A military helicopter was flying over the ocean, heading towards an island. A familiar voice sounded over the radio. "Tengo Delta India Two-er, approaching the rendezvous point, t-minus one recap." The recognizable face of Chris McLean then looked at the camera. "We're back! Season two of Total Drama Island is here and we're ready to bring in even more pain, more game and…well, more pain. Here's a recap for you unenlightened viewers who missed it."

Clips and shots from the previous season were then shown, as Chris' voice played over it. "Last season of Total Drama Island…we brought in sixteen all new contestants ready to sacrifice their dignity and test their pain tolerance for a shot at a million dollars."

The first two shown were a girl wearing an orange sweater and a guy wearing a red sweatshirt. "Chase and Emma went from ex's to not ex's, back to ex's and then, you guessed it, not ex's. Ah, young love…" The next contestants shown were a girl wearing a black tank top and army pants, a guy in an orange shirt and a green hat, a buff guy in a pink shirt and a pale girl with purple pigtails. "Axel was mean, Zee was…whatever Zee is, Caleb was pretty and Scary Girl was, as the name suggests, scary." A male contestant wearing a blue shirt was shown. "Ripper was gross…like, really gross. I mean, the dude tied the record for the longest fart and showed his butt on international TV, what else can I say?" Next was a male contestant in a yellow hat and wearing a blue jacket. "Damien hated his time here on Total Drama, until he didn't. But he got eliminated before he could tell anyone." The next contestant shown was a tall female with dreadlocks. "Nichelle, a popular film star, showed us the value of stunt doubles and how they mask how truly incapable the actors they represent are. In other words, she was useless." Two more contestants wearing hockey jerseys were shown. "Raj and Wayne came onto the show as best buds, but Raj had something a little more to him. And when he planted a kiss on Bowie's lips, it was undeniable what it was." Next was a blond contestant. "In what shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, social media influencer Julia turned out to be a terrible person and made enemies with just about everyone, including MK." A short contestant wearing a trench coat and beanie was shown. "Who hacked the confessional to get footage of the other contestants. This proved to be effective with Priya…" A contestant in a blue shirt and pants was shown. "...and Millie." A contestant wearing a red undershirt and a tan jacket was then shown. "Two besties who were briefly split up by Bowie, after he exposed Millie for writing bad stuff about Priya and her parents." A contestant wearing a purple shirt was shown. "Bowie, our first openly gay contestant, who played the game like a fiddle, caused a rift between our two resident besties that almost won him the finale. In the end, it came down to him and the two ex-besties. Unfortunately for Bowie, his plan only half worked as, while he was able to get rid of Millie, he fell short in the last moments and Priya walked out the winner."

The camera flashed back to Chris in the cockpit of the chopper. "I mean, come on, the girl was training her whole life for this, what did you expect?"

He walked out of the cockpit. "Now with another shot at the million up for grabs, she has to, again, go against fifteen of her fellow contestants." He spread his arms out, revealing all sixteen contestants sitting on opposite ends of the chopper. Some looked confident, some looked focused and some looked worried. "Who's going to come out on top? No idea, but I do know who's going down." Chris pushed a nearby button.

The floor between the contestant suddenly opened up, revealing a long drop to the water below. They screamed and pulled their feet back, but all of them ended up falling through it. They splashed into the water below, letting out grunts of pain in the process.

Back in the cockpit, Chris looked at the camera. "We've got more action, drama and all the good stuff in between…"

The chopper landed on a wooden dock. An intern was guiding it down and stepped near the door. It opened suddenly and the intern had no chance to move, as the door crushed him underneath. Chris stepped out. "Right here…on Total…Drama…Island!"

The contestants made their way to the dock, one by one. The adrenaline of being dropped from the chopper was still alive and well, as they tried to recover.

"Should've seen that coming…" Priya grumbled, as she rubbed Millie's back to comfort her.

The third place finisher emphasized her discomfort by hacking loudly, as a fish jumped out of her mouth and onto the dock.

"At this point, you really should've." Chris emphasized. "Everyone here?" A chorus of groans followed his question. "Good. Glad to hear. You survived this, so everything going forward should be easy."

The contestants sighed in relief.

"No, it won't." Chef spoke up. "It never is."

"I know, but it'll make their faces of disappointment all the more sweeter." He turned to the contestants. "Make your way to the bleachers after you've unpacked." He announced. He and Chef then turned and walked away.

No one said anything, but Millie let out another hack and a second fish flopped out of her mouth next to the first one.

Zee noticed. "Woah. You're really good at fishing."

Confessional (Priya): "After winning the first season, my parents really wanted me to be ready for the second. With everyone gunning for me, that meant a whole lot more training. It was brutal, but on the plus side, I did find out that scorpion tastes delicious." She paused. "Because they left me a week alone in the desert to hone my endurance. By the end of this, the sun burns and cactus needles will have all been worth it."

Static

Nichelle, with her suitcase, was making her way along with the other contestants. She passed by MK and Bowie. She smiled. "Oh, hey guys, how's it-" She stopped, as both of her ex-teammates deliberately moved away from her. Nichelle sighed.

Confessional (Nichelle): "Last season, when I was outed as a fake, Hollywood dumped me. They said that because my reputation was shot, no one wanted to make movies with me anymore. I was forced to do gross normal things, like doing the laundry, driving myself places and…" She shuddered. "...eating canned tuna."

Static

As MK made her way out Nichelle's way, she passed an unwelcome sight. "Oh great, the demon queen is here to grace us with her presence." She quipped sarcastically.

Julia scoffed. "Why don't you go back into that hole you crawled out of? That dirty disgusting hole."

"I'll do that as soon as you get that mole off your face."

The social media star froze. She quickly pulled out her phone and turned the camera. "Wait. What mole on my-" She checked it and quickly found out that nothing was on her face. She glared at her ex-teammate.

MK smirked.

Chase and Emma were walking together. To everyone's surprise, Emma didn't look absolutely pissed. In fact, she looked happy.

Confessional (Damien): "Does Emma not remember that Chase only jumped off that platform for pizza and not for her?"

Confessional (Bowie): "Am I surprised about Emma's terrible judgment? No. But I am disappointed."

Confessional (Emma & Chase): Emma was sitting in Chase's lap. "So, after last season, everyone wanted me to rewatch it. But, I just told them: why would I? Why would I watch the season where I got eliminated and threatened my awesome boyfriend's life on multiple occasions?" She hugged said boyfriend tightly and kissed him on the cheek.

"You're right, babe." Chase added. "I am awesome."

Static

Behind the newly reunited couple, Axel and Ripper were walking side by side.

The former rolled his eyes. "Gross."

"For once," Axel responded. "I agree with you."

The hockey bros looked excited as they made their way to the bleachers.

Confessional (Raj and Wayne): Raj started. "We're so stoked to be back!"

"You said it, Rajie!" Wayne continued. "Last season we never got voted out, so we're technically undefeated."

"Yeah, Wayner. This time, we're going to win the whole thing."

"Hoot! Hoot!" They both shouted at the same time.

There was a brief pause afterwards.

"Wait, but only one of us can win." Raj pointed out.

"Oh yeah, you're right. How do we decide who gets first?" Wayne thought for a moment, before coming up with something.

Raj must've had the same idea as he put his hand out.

"Rock, paper, scissors…"

Static

The two continued walking, until a female contestant appeared next to them. She had pale skin and was wearing a light blue dress and a white undershirt. She also had brown hair in a ponytail. "Hello." She said sweetly.

Wayne and Raj raised an eyebrow. "Uh, hey?"

"I just want to say that I wish you luck in this competition and that even if we end up on opposite teams, I will still be rooting for you to win." She smiled and walked away.

Raj and Wayne shared confused looks. "Who was that?" The blonde hockey bro asked. Raj shrugged.

Confessional (Lauren): "Hi, everyone. I'm Lauren. You might know me as that scary girl from last season. I understand that my reputation might not be well liked, but I am a changed woman. Well, that's mostly because I have a bit of a gap in my memory. I just sort of woke up next to a gravestone. My head hurt a lot. Might've been the rock that was lying next to me. I can't remember anything that happened before that. It was weird though. The gravestone wasn't anyone I knew and I guess they really liked dolls because they were all over the place."

Static

Soon, the competitors had arrived at the bleachers. Bowie was one of the last few to find a seat. It then quickly occurred to him that he was receiving a lot of unfriendly stares.

"Babe," He said to Raj, who was standing nearby. "Are they looking at me or is someone punching a kitten behind me?"

The hockey bro just smirked. "Come on, babe. We prepared for this. You knew they'd be mad, so this is your chance to make it up to them." He lightly pushed his boyfriend forward and gave an encouraging thumbs-up.

Bowie gulped, then put on a brave face in front of the other contestants. "So…hi, everyone." He started awkwardly. "I just wanted to say that some of you may have seen my move of exposing Millie's list in the finale as…questionable."

"Questionable?" Priya stood up and pointed at Bowie. "Try thoughtless, heartless, cruel and downright evil! You nearly ruined my friendship with my bestie! Right, Millie?"

Her friend didn't have the same bravado. "Um…yeah." She quickly realized she should've sounded more annoyed and stood up. "Y-Yeah!" She said with forced anger.

Confessional (Millie): She opened her mouth, but hesitated for a second. "Actually…I don't have anything important to say."

Static.

"My point is," Bowie continued. "My actions were purely for the purposes of making it further in the game. It was not personal and I hope all of you take a lesson from this on how to be better players."

The faces on everyone sitting on the bleachers were unconvinced of Bowie's 'apology' but the runner-up didn't seem phased by it.

Confessional (Bowie & Raj): Bowie sighed. "You were right. That was a huge weight off my shoulders. Thanks, babe."

Raj shared the same uncertainty as the rest of his castmates.

Static

Chris and Chef stood in front of the teams.

"Campers!" Chef bellowed. "Welcome back! We-"

"Quit the nice act!" Julia interrupted. "None of us are buying it!"

"You'd know a thing or two about 'nice acts." MK mumbled.

"Alright," Chris said. "We'll cut to the chase."

"Oh yeah." Chase shouted. "Definitely do that."

Chris ignored him. "We'll decide your teams in a moment. Unlike last time, we're allowing two of you to pick the teams for this season."

Confessional (Caleb): "I'm back for one reason and one reason only. Getting revenge on Bowie for giving me the boot last season. Depending on what team I'm on, I need to rally as many players as I can to get enough votes." He flexed his arm. "Shouldn't be too hard to convince them."

Static

"Our first captain," Chris continued. "Is our first season winner, Priya." She stepped down and made her way next to Chris. "And our other captain will be our runner up from last season, Bowie." He then did the same thing as Priya. Chris then turned to her. "Since you won, you'll get first pick. Just as a recommendation, you should definitely go with someone strong, capable and good at challenges."

"I pick Millie." Priya said without any hesitation.

"Or go with none of those things." Chris sighed.

"Yay!" Millie shouted as she ran down.

"Bowie, you're-"

"Raj." The runner-up said quickly.

"Yes!" Raj immediately ran down and locked Bowie in a tight hug.

"Alright, both of you are gross. Priya, back to you."

"So, who's next?" Millie asked. "Because if we want someone strong, we should go with Emma or even Damien, after he…" She trailed off. Priya wasn't looking at her. "Priya?"

Last season's winner was glaring intently at Bowie. She looked back at her bestie. "We have plenty of good players to choose from. Right now, we have the chance to screw up Bowie's plans. After what he did last season, we're going to make him pay." She turned back to the bleachers.

Millie was concerned. "What are you-"

"We pick Wayne!"

Everyone gasped, including Bowie and his boyfriend.

"Wait, what!?" Raj exclaimed.

"Woo-hoo!" Wayne raised his arms and ran down towards Priya. "You made the right call, coach. Won't let you down. Neither will Rajie."

Priya and Millie shared confused looks. "Wayne." Millie said. "Raj is-"

"Saying goodbye to his boyfriend, I know. We'll give him a minute."

Confessional (Millie): "Ok, so that move was a little…" She shook her head. "Nope. Not going to say anything about it."

Static

Bowie was in the middle of comforting a depressed looking Raj. He glared at Priya, then turned his attention back to the bleachers. He took a long look, then sighed. "Julia." Like last time, everyone gasped.

Confessional (Bowie): He grunted. "Priya really has it out for me. With only half of the hockey bros, I need to pick my next teammates carefully. And, right now, I'd rather have Julia as an ally than an enemy."

Confessional (Julia): She chuckled darkly. "I see what Bowie's doing. If he thinks he can trust me not to backstab him, he's going to realize how wrong he is."

Static

"Damien." Priya picked.

"I need an extra vote to keep me alive." Bowie muttered, then made his pick. "Zee."

The chill contestant made his way down, with a yellow soda can in hand. "Thanks, Bowie. Why don't we celebrate with the refreshing taste of Civil Suit Soda's Fistful of Bananas?" He held it up and smiled, looking directly at the camera.

Bowie raised an eyebrow. "No, thanks. I don't really like soda."

Zee's smile faltered slightly, as he struggled to maintain his composure. "Um…" He quickly smiled again. "More for me then." He took a swig of his drink.

Confessional (Zee): He had an open briefcase with different colored soda cans in it. "After last season, I got a call from Civil Suit Soda to be their new spokesperson. It's great. Even if I don't win, I'll still make a ton of money from this deal." He grabbed a blue can. "And we'll all win when we drink a can of Blueberry Ballers Blend. Available in stores." He took a sip, then immediately shuddered. "Oh man, that tastes…" He then remembered he was on camera and smiled again, albeit forced. "...wonderful. Like an…ocean of flavor."

Static

"MK." Priya picked.

"Axel." Bowie pointed.

Last season's winner hesitated, then looked at Bowie again. She sighed. "Ripper."

"Finally!" The alfalfa male said.

Most of the contestants were surprised by this. Julia looked at the bleachers, then realized something. She went over to Bowie, who was still deciding on his next pick. "You don't see it, do you?"

"Not now, Julia." Bowie countered. He continued making his decision. Then he paused and looked back at her. "See what?"

Julia pointed at the bleachers. "With everyone left, Priya is setting you up to have at least two people on your team that don't like you."

Bowie looked at the remaining contestant. He then proceeded to scoff. "I already have someone on my team who doesn't like me." He cast a side glance at his rival. "Just keep quiet and I might let you stick around. Nichelle." He pointed.

The former Hollywood star sighed in relief at not being picked last.

Priya looked over her options before noticing something. "Um, Chris? Who's that?"

Chris looked. Priya was pointing at the brown haired contestant in the blue dress. "Who, that? That's Lauren. But, you probably know her as Scary Girl."

"Scary Girl!?" Priya and her team exclaimed.

"Yeah. Scary Girl. Don't know what happened to her, but that's how we found her."

Most of Priya's team looked uneasy, especially one. Damien went to Priya's side. "Priya. Please don't pick her. I'm pretty sure she wants my skull, and I want it too." He grabbed her shoulders in a panic. "Please Priya! I really want to keep my skull!"

Priya pushed him off. "Relax, Damien. I'm not going to pick her."

"Actually," Chris interrupted. "Because you just said her name and you're taking too long, she is joining your team."

Lauren made her way down. She smiled and waved. "Hello everyone. Glad to be on your team."

Everyone else suddenly took a big step back. Damien was even cowering behind Priya.

Bowie went to make his next pick. There were only three left. She contemplated who it would be, then realized something. The only three players left were Emma, Chase and Caleb.

Confessional (Bowie): He groaned. "Julia was right. Whoever I pick, Priya will force me to pick someone who doesn't like me. I guess my best bet is Chase, but Priya would just pick Caleb and I'd be left with Emma, who's still mad at me for saying I had no respect for her when she got back with Chase, who would also be on my team." He sighed. "I guess I could go with Caleb. I mean, what's the worst he could do? Use his muscles and good looks to hit on Raj and make me jealous?" He paused.

Static

"Chase." Bowie picked suddenly.

Priya grunted to herself. "Caleb."

Confessional (Caleb): He looked annoyed. "Second to last? Seriously? How did-" He sighed. "You know what? It doesn't matter. Now I just need to work on getting it in good with Priya and enough people on my team to stick around for the merge. Unless, Bowie gets eliminated before then, which would be awesome. Maybe not as much because it wasn't from me, but still wouldn't complain."

Static

"And that leaves Bowie with Emma." Chris announced. Bowie sighed as she made her way down, next to Chase. She glared at Bowie. He didn't see Julia smirking at him either. Chris continued. "Ok, with all the teams picked, let's get a move on. Priya, your official team name is…Team Rat Face." Chef tossed a rolled up red flag to Priya's team. Damien and Millie caught it and it unraveled revealing a picture of a smirking rat.

Bowie and his team couldn't help but chuckle. "Rat face? Good luck being taken seriously with a name like that."

Chef then tossed Bowie's team a green flag. "Bowie, your team name is Team Skunk Butt." Axel caught it, revealing a picture of a skunk with its tail up.

The last season runner-up groaned at his poor timing.

"Our first challenge will start soon. So, prepare yourselves and we'll meet up in an hour."

As both teams split off, Caleb stepped next to Priya. "Hey, champ. You got some pointers for today's challenge?" He intentionally flexed his muscles.

Priya blushed. "Oh, um…wow. You're asking me for advice? Me?"

"Of course." Caleb said slyly, stepping closer. "It only makes sense since you won the whole thing. Who else would I ask?"

Priya giggled. "T-That's a good point."

"Priya!" Millie suddenly appeared next to her friend. "You coming?"

Last season's winner snapped from her trance. "Huh? Oh right." She turned to Caleb. "We'll talk when the challenge actually starts." She and Millie walked away.

Caleb frowned.

The contestants soon arrived at the challenge location.

They were standing in an open field, with a white line at their feet. Surrounding them was a large backdrop of what looked like a wheat field.

Chris stood in front of them. "Our first challenge is called Grandma's Footsteps." He explained. "And to make things a little interesting, we have a special guest." A piece of background set opened up. Chef and a short old lady wearing a pink sweater walked out. "This is Granny Hatchett. Chef's Grandma."

"Hello, young people." She said sweetly.

"Aw, she's adorable." Emma said.

"What exactly is she doing here?" Axel questioned.

"And why does she seem familiar?" Ripper added.

"Here are the rules," Chef exclaimed. He was standing on the other side of the contestants, with another white line by his feet. His granny was standing on a mound of dirt behind him. "My Granny does not like people standing on her lawn. And her lawn is what we're standing on. Your goal is to be the first to cross to the other side. First player to do so, wins for their team. Granny will be watching you. When her back is turned, you're good to go."

"But," Chris interrupted. "If she catches you moving, you better watch out, because she'll nail you with a paint balloon. So, just as a reminder, don't be moving when she sees you."

Julia scoffed. "That old lady is supposed to hit us? I'd be surprised if she doesn't break a bone before this is over."

"Losing team reports to the elimination ceremony to say goodbye to one of their teammates." Chef continued. "You have two minutes to strategize."

Priya, Millie, Damien, Wayne, Caleb, MK and Ripper all huddled up.

Lauren stood on the outside, looking for an open spot. "Uh, guys? Can I get in?"

Damien poked his head out and looked at her. "Sorry." He said rudely. "Team huddles are only for people who aren't going to stab their teammates." He went back to the huddle.

Lauren frowned.

Confessional (Lauren): "I need to make this up to Damien. It's understandable why he would think that I would maim him. My previous persona gave me a lot to work with, but I can manage."

Static

"Alright, team." Priya said. "We should-"

"Oh," Wayne interrupted. "Rajie and I used to play this game all the time when we were kids. When she's looking, stop in a position that's easy to hold." He chuckled. "I won every game that way. Remember, Raj?"

Silence followed this, but Wayne didn't seem to notice.

The team broke their huddle and headed towards the starting line.

"Wait!" Priya shouted. Everyone turned. "I'm the team captain, Wayne. I'm supposed to give the plan."

"Oh sorry, eh. What's the plan then, coach?"

Priya opened her mouth, but she didn't say anything. She thought for a moment, before sighing in defeat. "What you said."

Wayne gave an enthusiastic thumbs up. "Great idea, coach!"

On the Skunk Butts side, things weren't going too well.

Bowie was still trying his best to comfort Raj. Axel, Nichelle, Chase, Emma, Julia and Zee were standing near them.

"So, what's the plan, captain?" Julia said smugly.

"We need to…" He looked at his upset boyfriend. He sighed, then put his hands on Raj's shoulders. "Listen to me. You and Wayne are on opposite teams, but you're still Snow Owls. And when the merge hits, you'll be together again. But that isn't going to happen if you're moping like this. So let's give it 110%! Go Snow Owls!" He raised his fist.

Raj sniffed, wiped his eyes and managed a smile. "Hoot! Hoot!" He also raised his fist.

Confessional (Raj): He sighed. "My boyfriend's pretty awesome, isn't he?"

Static

Bowie then turned to his team. "Alright, let's-"

"Ready, everyone?" Chris interrupted.

The Skunk Butts quickly made their way to the starting line. Bowie sighed and followed.

Confessional (Nichelle): "I know my team doesn't like me right now, but this might be my best chance to prove myself." She smiled confidently. "I can do this!"

Static

Both teams were soon standing on the line. Chris made the countdown. "On your mark, get set, go!"

Granny Hatchett turned aways and the contestants ran forward. Nichelle decided to pick up the pace and went ahead of everyone. She was focused.

A second later, Granny turned around. Everyone was able to stop in time. Nichelle did so too. However, she stopped too quickly. Her foot slipped and she ended up face planting into the ground.

Granny's head suddenly shot in her direction. She took the paintball in her hand and threw it at Nichelle.

The former Hollywood star was starting to get up and didn't have enough time to move, when the paint balloon struck her in the face. Pink paint exploded onto her and she was sent backwards a few feet.

"Ouch." Chris exclaimed. "I'm sure Nichelle wants her stunt double back now." A screen nearby showed Nichelle's photo, followed by a red X over it.

"Boom!" Granny said. "You just got axed!"

"Axed!" Ripper shouted. "That's Ax Hatchet! She's the greatest pitcher in the history of women's baseball." As if for emphasis, Ax flexed her arm and the sleeve of her sweater ripped, showing a serious amount of muscle.

"Oh, did we forget to mention that?" Chef replied smugly.

"Wait, Ripper watches women's sports?" Chris added.

Ax turned around, signaling for the other contestants to go. With this new knowledge in mind, they were more cautious when running.

Emma was focused on not getting eliminated like Nichelle. She heard a voice next to her.

"Psst, Emma."

"Not now, Zee."

Zee was holding a green soda can. "Do you want to try a Lemon Lime Surprise?" He asked.

"Not. Now. Zee."

"Alright, more for me." He opened the top and soda fizzed out.

At that moment, Ax turned around and everyone stopped. Zee did too, but his can was still fizzing. Ax's eyes snapped towards him. He noticed and was worried. Even more so, when she chucked a balloon at his hand. It burst on impact.

"Ow!" He exclaimed, clutching his hand. A second balloon then hit him in the face and he was knocked back.

Like Nichelle, Zee's face appeared on the board with an X over his face. Chris narrated. "And it looks like the Skunk Butts are off to a bad start with two eliminations already."

Ax turned around once more. MK was running just behind Caleb.

Confessional (MK): "I kinda need some wins here. I wasn't exactly…well liked last season, so I need to lay low. And that's pretty easy when you're the shortest girl here and in front of you is a massive balloon blocker."

Static

Damien was ahead of most of the others. He looked very determined.

Confessional (Damien): "Last season, I didn't want to be here. Then I did want to be here, but everyone else thought I didn't, so I got voted off. Now that I'm back, I'm putting all my focus into winning. Damien is winning this whole thing!"

Static

He continued making steady progress, but was also carefully watching if Ax was going to turn around.

"We got this, Damien!"

Hearing this voice startled the nervous competitor. He quickly glanced back to see Lauren running behind him. He shrieked. "Gah! Get away from me!"

"We're running to the same place."

"No. I'm running to the finish line. You're running to steal my skull!"

Damein then noticed Lauren stop suddenly. He was confused, until he realized what that meant. He looked forward and saw Ax looking directly at him. He hadn't stopped in time, as she chucked another balloon at him. Like before, he was sent flying back, covered in pink paint. He hit the ground with a thud and groaned. When his vision cleared, he saw Lauren standing above him, looking down. "Are you okay?" She asked.

Damien sprung to his feet suddenly and bolted away, screaming all the while.

Nearby, Caleb was standing next to Priya. "Hey." He whispered. "This was a good idea."

"Really?" She blushed. "Damien just got eliminated. You sure?"

"Definitely. We still have the lead, don't we?"

Priya giggled.

Behind them, MK was watching. She grunted in disgust.

Someone laughed near her. She turned to see Julia. "What?" She asked.

"Oh nothing." Julia feigned innocence.

Ax turned away again and the contestant started running.

"It's just funny," Julia continued. "That you're disgusted by something you've probably never experienced."

MK laughed. "Coming from you, that's even funnier. The social media influencer who's just as fake as her hair."

"Are you saying I'm using dye?" Julia questioned.

"No, I'm saying your parents hated you so much that they shaved your head and it's a wig." She laughed hard. Julia grunted, until noticing something.

MK continued laughing and running, unaware that Caleb was no longer in front of her. She opened her eyes, just in time to see a balloon flying towards her. It struck her, knocking her backwards.

"And MK is out, meaning both teams are tied up again. Let's see how the rest plays out." Chris said.

The rest of the contestants were still stopped. Axel and Bowie were next to each other. The zombie commando narrowed her eyes. "I'm going for it." She said.

"Going for…?" He didn't finish, as Axel took off.

Ax saw her and threw a paintball at her. However, Axel moved out of the way and continued her run. Ax tried again, but Axel still dodged it.

Bowie was impressed.

From the sidelines, Nichelle was watching her too.

Ax then narrowed her eyes and readied herself. Axel watched carefully. Ax chucked her balloon. As it careened towards her, the balloon was jolting all around. Axel was surprised and couldn't predict where to move. She stepped to where she thought would be safe, but she ended up right in the balloon's path. It nailed her in the face and sent her to the ground.

"Oh," Chef winced. "That's granny's patented crazy ball. No one's ever hit it before."

"Well, Axel did get hit by it." Chris noted.

Further back, Priya, Ripper and Millie watched on. Ripper had seen Axel's attempt and was thinking. He looked at Priya, who was in front of him, and got an idea. He grabbed her arms and lifted her off the ground. He started running forward.

"What the-?" She cried. "Ripper, what are you-" She was interrupted when a paint balloon struck her in the face. With Ripper behind her, he was safe from Ax's throws.

"Hey!" Millie called. "Ripper, you can't-'' She tried to run after, but then remembered she couldn't. She tried to stop herself, but was too late as a balloon struck her in the face.

"This worked for us last time." Ripper explained. "It should help me reach the finish line."

Despite being pelted with more balloons, Priya stayed silent.

Confessional (Priya): "I hate being used as a human shield, but it might help us win. If this plan doesn't work, Ripper is done."

Static

Ripper continued his run. However, he couldn't see what was in front of him. And with Priya too busy being pelted with balloons, he didn't see Raj ahead of him. They bumped into him, knocking him down.

"Raj!" Bowie screamed.

The hockey bro looked up and saw a balloon coming towards him. He braced himself, until a shadow flew across him. He looked up in time to see Wayne, jumping into the air, in front of the balloon, taking the hit.

He fell to the ground and groaned. Then he looked at his friend. "I got this, Rajie. Go win this for us!" His head then fell back, as the hit had knocked him unconscious.

Ahead, Ripper was getting closer to the finish line. Like Wayne, Priya was starting to get loopy from all the hits she was taking.

Ripper smirked. "See? I know what I'm doing. You made the right choice when you picked the smartest, strongest and-Gah!" Ripper suddenly tripped on a rock and fell forward, crushing Priya between himself and the dirt. Ripper lifted his head up and groaned. He was then hit with a paintball. Both were only a few feet away from the finish line.

"Wow!" Chris bellowed. "Granny Ax is leaving no survivors with four straight eliminations."

"Shouldn't it be five?" Chef questioned.

Ax then shot a look over at Raj. The hockey bro had just gotten up and was completely frozen. He nervously waited for her to take him out.

But, surprisingly, Ax just turned back around.

Raj sighed, then nervously glanced down at Wayne, before continuing his run.

Julia had been making nice progress. She had decided to keep close to Chase and Emma.

Confessional (Julia): "Not like they'll need convincing, but if I can get Chase and Emma's vote, I just need two more to guarantee Bowie's elimination the next time we lose. I'm sure Axel and Nichelle would be easy enough since they sucked so much last season, they probably want to take any chance to get rid of a runner up."

Confessional (Chase): "Did you see what Axel and Ripper did? That was so cool! Now I need to do something equally as cool."

Static

Ax turned around and everyone stopped.

"Alright." Julia started. "Now that-"

"Yo, Julia." Chase interrupted. "You got a phone on you?"

"What? Why?"

"I need someone to record what I'm about to do with Ax."

"We're already being recorded. There are cameras everywhere."

Chase rolled his eyes. "Yeah, but this is different." He started reaching for Julia's pocket.

"Babe, watch out!" Emma yelled.

Chase looked up to see a balloon heading towards him. Instinctively, he grabbed Emma's wrist and pulled her in front of him, nailing her in the face. She fell to the ground.

"Thanks, babe." Chase looked down, then to Julia. "So, about that phone."

"Not now."

"Oh come on, you have like so many, I just need one to-" He stopped, as he noticed another balloon heading towards him. This time, he grabbed Julia's wrist and pulled her in front of him, which also struck her in the face. She fell down next to Emma. In the process, a phone had fallen out of Julia's pocket and onto the ground.

Chase saw it and picked it up. "Thanks, Julia. Now can you get up? I need someone to record-" He was then cut off by a balloon to the face.

All three contestants lay on the ground, eliminated.

"Down to four." Chris announced. "It's an even game, but only one can cross first."

When Ax turned around, Raj, Bowie, Caleb and Lauren all ran towards the finish line.

Bowie smirked. "Ready to be the first eliminated again?" He taunted Caleb.

"I could say the same to you." Caleb retorted. "After everything you did, I doubt you'd still be around if you lost."

"Hey!" Raj butt in. "I'm not going to vote for him."

"You would if you actually understood that your boyfriend likes to play underhandedly."

Ax turned around again. Raj, Bowie and Lauren stopped. Caleb was about to, when Bowie put his foot out ever so slightly. Since Caleb was directly behind him, he ended up tripping over Bowie's shoe and fell to the ground. A balloon struck him in the back, as he lay in the dirt.

Last season's runner up couldn't help but chuckle.

"Hey!"

Bowie was surprised, even more so to see Raj come to Caleb's side.

"Raj, what are you-"

"That was a dirty play." Raj scolded. "Why did you do that?"

Before Bowie could answer, Raj was struck in the back by a balloon. Bowie wanted to go help him, but knew he couldn't move at that moment.

"And with Ax's double elimination, that only leaves us with two. Who's going to cross first? Last season's runner up or the former Scary Girl?" Chris announced.

Bowie was too distracted to notice. When he heard footsteps, he looked up to see Lauren widening the gap between them.

Quickly, he bolted towards her. Ax turned and both contestants stopped again.

Bowie was now extremely nervous. He glanced at the sidelines to see Julia smirking at him.

Confessional (Bowie): "I hate leaving Raj like that, but I can't risk losing. With Julia, Emma and Chase, I don't have a numbers advantage and then I'll never get to talk to Raj." He took a deep breath. "Alright, let's focus. Time to show everyone why I made it as far as I did last season."

Static

Bowie narrowed his eyes and then suddenly started running. Ax noticed and quickly fired a balloon at him. Bowie saw it and jumped over it. He then side stepped another. Everyone watched in amazement.

"There's no way he's going to make it." Julia scoffed.

A third balloon hit the ground as Bowie kept going. He was only a few feet behind Lauren. Ax still hadn't turned around, so she couldn't move.

Ax chucked a mighty throw towards Bowie. He saw it coming and jumped forward. He then flipped himself upside down and put his hands out. He grabbed Lauren's shoulders and then pushed off of her, somersaulting ahead of her. Ax went for another throw, but she missed and it nailed Lauren in the face. Bowie landed on his feet and he was standing…just past the finish line.

"And with Bowie's amazing come from behind run, he clinches it for the Skunk Butts!" Chris declared.

Most of his teammates cheered. Except for Julia and Emma.

The Rat Faces, unsurprisingly, were disappointed. Ripper turned to Priya. "This is all your fault for tripping me up!"

Priya was holding her back, as Millie was trying to hold her upright. "My fault!? You're the one who tripped!"

"Yeah, I only did that because you tripped me up!"

"I'm not a human shield! My feet were off the ground!"

"Friend, friends."

Everyone turned to see Lauren heading towards them.

"We may have lost, but we need to focus our efforts on tonight's elimination. It might be hard, but we all must make the decision on-"

"I know who I'm voting for!" Damien interrupted, looking at Lauren.

"Wait, but-"

"So do I!" Ripper said, glaring at Priya, who did the same.

"Good to know!" Chris said, having appeared next to them. "Rat Faces, I'll see you at tonight's elimination ceremony. You know the drill, so get ready to say goodbye to one of your teammates."

Everyone seemed a bit on edge from hearing this.

Later, the Skunk Butts were heading back to the cabins. Raj and Bowie found themself separated from the rest of the group.

Admittedly, Bowie was feeling pretty proud of his win. But, at the same time, he could see his boyfriend, ahead of him, looking uneasy.

The Party Boy sighed and went to Raj's side. "Look, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I didn't think it would bother you that much."

Raj raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"Babe, I've seen you get in hockey fights and slam other guys into walls, like, all your games I've been to."

"Well, that's just part of the game." Raj defended.

"My point is that I didn't think you'd have an issue with me tripping Caleb."

Raj sighed. "That's different. It just feels like a cheap way to win."

"I mean, we are on Total Drama, we need those wins one way or another." Bowie looked at Raj again. He didn't seem any better than he did before. The Party Boy gave a pitying look, then let out a loud exhale. "Alright, fine. I'll…try to play more fairly from now on. But…just remember this is Total Drama, okay?"

Raj perked up from hearing this. "Thanks, Bowie. I know that's tough, but I'm glad you're going to try." With a smirk, he leaned towards his boyfriend and kissed him on the cheek.

Bowie was surprised and stopped.

"And if we win the next game without any cheap tricks, I'll give you a real kiss." The Hockey Bro said and continued walking.

Bowie was left alone, completely flabbergasted and blushing brightly.

Confessional (Bowie): He was still blushing. "Ok…wow, that was smooth."

The Rat Faces soon made their way to the elimination ceremony. Most looked nervous, except one.

Confessional (Wayne): "Man, I guess Bowie really needs some comforting now that Raj isn't on the same team as him." He paused and shrugged. "Either that or they're in a wicked make-out sesh. Probably both."

Static

Chris and Chef stood in front of the team, as they took their seats on the log stumps. Chris was holding a plate of marshmallows.

The host sniffed and sighed contentedly. "Ah, the first elimination of the season. Ripe and ready to disappoint someone. Most certainly, not me. I will be smiling."

"MK." Chef said, glaring at the short contestant. "You got distracted and got eliminated."

"I can't help it if I'm too hilarious for my own good.." She responded.

Chef continued. "Ripper, you tripped and crushed Priya, then blamed her for falling."

"My nose is still filled with dirt and paint." Priya added.

Ripper just scoffed. "It's not my fault she's a terrible human shield."

"Scary gi- I-I mean, Lauren…"

"Would this have to do with my previous actions and persona on this show making me a disliked contestant?" Lauren asked.

"Uh…" Chef was surprised. "Y-Yeah."

Lauren sighed. "I guess that's fair."

Confessional (Damien): "That girl…ain't fooling anyone."

Static

Chef turned to another contestant. "And finally, Wayne. You eliminated yourself to protect your friend. While a nice thing to do, it probably isn't very popular with your teammates."

Wayne crossed his arms. "Hey, coach. I'll do anything for Rajie. And as soon as he gets here, I'll tell him that."

Confessional (Millie): "Does…does Wayne still not get it?"

Static

Soon after the votes were cast. Chris held out the tray of marshmallows. "You know the drill. If I say your name, you get a marshmallow. If you don't get one, you're out. Simple as that. Let's begin." He paused dramatically. "Damien…"

He tossed the white treat to the contestant, who smiled as he caught it.

"Millie..."

She sighed in relief.

Chris continued tossing out marshmallows, while calling out names. "Wayne…MK…Priya" He held out another treat. "And receiving his first marshmallow, Caleb."

The large contestant smiled brightly, as he caught his treat.

"Down to two. Lauren or Ripper. One of you is going home tonight."

"Uh, hey coach." Wayne raised his hand. "I don't think Raj got his marshmallow."

Chris groaned. "Wayne, I don't know how you haven't figured this out yet. Raj is not on your team."

Wayne just stared.

"You and him aren't together."

"Of course not. He's with Bowie."

Chris facepalmed. "He-"

Chef interrupted. "Hold on. I got this." He looked at the hockey bro. "Your boy got drafted to the other team."

Wayne suddenly went wide eyed and grabbed his head. "Wait, whaaaaaaaat?!"

"Alright, before there are any more interruptions…" Chris said. "The last marshmallow goes to…"

"...Lauren."

The normal girl took her treat and sighed in relief.

"Noooooooo!" Damien stood up and took off running back to the cabins.

"Yeah, that reaction seems appropriate." Chris said.

"Wait, seriously?!" Ripper exclaimed. "I'm the first one eliminated?! Over Scary Girl!?"

"Lauren." The normal girl corrected.

"I'm surprised that you're surprised." Chef said.

"Ripper, your time is up. Come with me." Chris said.

The self proclaimed alpha male got up, grumbling as he walked towards the dock.

His voice could be heard as he made his way down. "I've got to say, going from what place I finished last season to first eliminated sucks a lot. But, I have learned a few things, you can't look out for anyone other than yourself, Ax Hatchett's throws hurt like heck…"

Confessional (Ripper): "...and Priya's use as a human shield is apparently only a one time thing."

Static

Ripper stood on the dock, before a large drone, with a claw attachment underneath it, swooped in and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. However, the shirt, in turn, got pulled up slightly, covering Ripper's face. He squirmed and grunted, as the Drone of Despair carried him off.

"Ripper left as he arrived." Chris announced. "Lacking dignity. But, on the plus side, this season got 35% less gross." He turned to the camera. "Tune in for the next episode because things are starting off hot. We'll see you in the next installment of…Total…Drama…Island!"

The first episode of season two I actually think is one of the best episodes for that season. The challenge is fun and they spend more time with characters interacting, since they don't need to focus on introducing everyone again.

However, while it was good, it did set up the biggest issue I had for this season. Namely that everything felt a soft reset. They used that episode to re-introduce the previous plot points, but then sets up new ones, regardless of what happened last season. For example, Nichelle is athletic now, Emma is pissed at Chase again, MK and Julia are allies now and Ripper is now trying to be nice to Axel. For a lot of those, they could've been better ideas, if they were properly explored and if we actually got to see them reach these resolutions. But it's just confusing, as is.

As for Ripper, he basically got the Scott treatment in the original. No, literally. He went from a bully type character that was not well liked by a female character, to an awkward doofus who had the hots for a feisty latina in the next season. If I had a nickel for everytime that happened, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. And yeah, that means no Ripaxel for this story either. I didn't hate it, but I didn't think Ripper needed another long run.

Anyways, let me know what you think of this. I'm excited to make more chapters. It's been a while since I've felt this creatively motivated.
