Lady Tsunade gagged as the green tea hit her tongue.

"yuck. Where the sake around here?" she asked aloud. Of course, when she looked around her office there wasn't a sake bottle in sight.

"Darn, you shizune." Tsunade hissed. A month ago Sakura and Shizune had confronted her about her drinking. It needed to stop and she did but darn was it a drag. Caffeine was now her new best friend but it wasn't working.

"I need a latte." She groaned.

A knock on her door made her sit down and pretend to look busy.

"enter." She commanded sternly.

The door opened to reveal an anbu.

"my lady. We have a concern."

"what is it?" she asked.

"There is a woman in the hall who is asking for you. but we have never seen her before."

Tsunade looked at her clock to see that it was 6 am exactly.

It must be Hinata in her disguise. She thought.

"let her in," Tsunade commanded.

The Anbu opened her office door and ushered in an unknown woman.

This woman had white and turquoise hair, and yellow eyes, and wore a green and red dress. On her back was a black and white bow and arrows while on her face was a green and red mask.

"you may leave us." Tsunade directed the anbu.

As soon as the anbu left, Tsuande stood and walked towards the women.

"Hinata?" she called hesitantly.

The woman laughed and said "Yes it's me Lady Tsunade. I believe my disguise is befitting?"

Tsunade laughed loudly and said "Oh it's more than befitting! it's perfect. I am going to assume that this is your acceptance of your new assignment?"

"yes, my lady," Hinata confirmed with a bow.

Tsunade took a deep breath and made sure she was standing tall.

"very well. Follow me."

Tsunade turned towards her wall and made a hand signal. As soon as she did, a secret door appeared and she motioned Hinata to follow.

They walked down a set of stairs and into what seemed like a dark basement.

She turned to look at Hinata with serious eyes.

"Hinata hyuga step into this circle." She commanded.

Behind Tsunade was a blue glowing circle.

Hinata followed the instructions and waited. Only Two Anbu were in the room with them.

"release your disguise Hinata."

The disguise Hinata once had was now gone and she was now back to her original self.

"Hinata Hyuga, you have been chosen to become the new personal messenger ambassador to the Hokage and the rest of the five great nations."

Tsunade watched as Hinata's eyes became huge. That wasn't what they had talked about a few days ago.

The original plan was for Hinata to be a secret messenger between Kohona and Suna but now Tsuande was adding other countries.

"we will start with Suna and Kohona first. Once things go well there, we will expand." Tsunade explained.

Hinata nodded.

"With the new assignment, you are obligated to take messages from Kohona to Suna. These messages are strictly between the kages and are not to be opened or tampered with. You will protect them with your life. You will keep your disguises until you get into the Kazekages office, he is the only one who is allowed to know who you truly are. The same applies to when you leave Suna or anywhere else I send you. you stay in disguise until you meet the kage."

"yes, lady Tsuande. I understand."

"very well. The next thing we have to do is give you the seal. The seal will indicate to the kages who you are and your position. Hold out both your wrist."

Hinata did as told and Tsuande stepped in front of her. With three quick movements, two glowing triangles with a circle in the middle appeared on Hinata's inner wrist.

Hinata clenched her jaw and hissed from the pain as a burning sensation filled her.

"the sensation won't last long. As soon as it's over, I will send you on your mission. When you get to Suna, you will stop at a marked rock. Aline the seal on your wrist with the seal on the rock.

….

Gaara was doing paperwork when the messenger seal activated on his desk. Looking at the clock, he realized it was three in the morning. That was the problem with having a tailed beast and being an insomniac. Sleep was almost nonexistent. He probably slept for at least an hour or two a day. Sometimes he went days without sleep. Today was one of those days.

He aligned his wrist with the seal and the secret entrance in his office appeared.

Out walked a woman with white and turquoise hair, and yellow eyes. She wore a green and red dress. On her back was a black and white bow and arrows while on her face was a green and red mask.

Before he could say anything, the women bowed before him.

"Good morning Lord Kazekage. I apologize for the early disruption but I have a few messages from Lady Tsunade. Here is my seal of proof."

The woman extended her wrist to show the seal that matched his own.

"you may stand. Thank you for your presence. Lady Fifth was afraid she wouldn't find someone in time to take this position. It's been a few years since it was filled. I am hoping you will be able to be trusted?" Gaara questioned coldly.

"I value my village and the trust it places in me lord kazekage." The woman said sternly.

Gaara took a deep breath and allowed his body to relax.

"My apologies, I think we have gotten started at the wrong foot. You may release your disguise."

The woman giggled before her identity changed into a woman with long purple hair and violet eyes.

"you're a Hyuga? Is there something you find funny?" he questioned. Not feel particularly fond of being laughed at.

" My apologies lord kazekage. Yes, I am a Hyuga. My name is Hyuga Hinata and I found it funny because I have never heard that expression explained like before. Most of the time people say started on the wrong foot. Not the other way around. Once again my apologies." She explained with a sudden blush and nervousness about her. He also noticed a touch of exhaustion.

"hmm. I will take that into account the next time I use that expression. Hyuga Hinata you say? any relation to hyuga neji?"

"yes. he was my cousin." She replied with a sad tone.

"I see. I did not know him well, but I met him once or twice, he was an honorable shinobi. My condolences for your loss."

"thank you lord kazekage. Would you like the messages from Lady Fifth?" she questioned.

"yes. I would thank you."

She then pulled out five thick scrolls from her pack and Gaara sighed. There were no doubt scrolls about the repercussions of the fourth great war, solutions were drawn up from the other kages. It would take him a matter of days to go through.

"messenger of the leaf, these scrolls will take me a few days to get through. If you align your seal with the wall next to the cactus it will lead you down to the hallway that leads to your corridors. you are free to visit the village and there will be a special exit and entrance that you can locate with your seal. Your seal will become extremely warm when I am ready for your presence. You are dismissed."

"thank you lord kazekage. May I give you something?" she questioned.

Gaara hesitated before he nodded yes. the Hyuga approached his desk, with something in her hand. It was a small container with a lid.

"This is a sort of thank you gift. You see, I am next in line to lead the hyuga but that might not happen to do to some clan politics. Anyway, I would have never gotten this opportunity to serve our two visits if you and Lady Fifth had not placed a sense of trust in me. So as a thank you, I would like to give you my special healing balm. It helps with bruises and scrapes after a mission and it also helps with sleep. Thank you lord kazekage and please get some rest."

With that said she bowed and left through the hidden door.

Gaara, looked at the balm in confusion before he decided to open it.

The scent of lavender and cedar filled his nose. The scent itself was relaxing. For the rest of the time he worked at his desk, he left the balm open.

It did smell good.

He would have to ask Lady Fifth for more information on Hyuga Hinata and the Hyuga clan.
