Giving Mika a year extra to be bolstered, giving him time to actually matter and overcome the bloodline/nepotism crap that made everyone else that mattered powerful is vital. I have so many plans, something I rarely have when I write. That alone made me rewrite this, this time.

One Year Before Naruto Graduates

Personal victories were rare for Mika, in his short life he could only count on a few. Surviving his father, falling in love with reading and joining the Ninja Academy were all he could count on. That he ended in a class with that arrogant prick Neji Hyuuga and someone as obnoxious as Rock Lee... well, those may have dimmed that part of his life. Still, he worked hard and despite being born to a pure civilian bloodline, meaning no genetic advantages or nepotism, he ended up taking second place in their graduation. Despite that, Mika knew he had to pounce. He had goals to entertain and meet.

And so here he was, presenting a folder to the Hokage, who was currently looking over said folder. He had organized this meeting two months prior and had just gotten in. It was a meeting of vital proportions.

"Hmm... Mika, you wish to join the Hospital as a medic?"

Mika bowed. "I have to. I am aware of the secondary test, the one that determines the fate of ninja leaving the academy. I figured it out after seeing so many returning to the academy. I know I have what it takes, but others... maybe not. As a medic, I can not only learn a vital skill but also work on myself until I am worthy of the Headband. My academic abilities far surpassed even Neji's. I know that is vital to become a medic. I have already spent many an hour studying botany, anatomy, physiology and psychology and so many other subjects. I want to be great, and this is part of my path."

The Hokage nodded, peering into Mika's very soul with his deep brown eyes. "I will allow it. Your intelligence is a vital resource that cannot be ignored. However, there are tests in the Hospital. Chakra control and so many others, to see if you are worthy of their training. It takes a great many months to become a suitable medic, three years on average. Can you dedicate that time?"

Mika bowed once more. "I know I can."

"Then so be it. I will send word that you are to start immediately. To be honest, your class had extra people that threw off the three person teams, I was unsure of where to put some of you. This works in my favor." The old man smirked at him." Go to the Hospital now, they will set you up to start your studies. You do not have to do typical D ranks, I might want to add, you will be acting as a hospital aide for some time."

And with that new small victory, Mika knew his path was set, to become a Sanin type figure far surpassing any of the three jokes that called themselves Sanin..

Nothing would stop him, nothing would prevent his rise...

Nothing.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a joy to write.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
