Chapter One: A New Face

A/N: This is set before Chapter 6 when the ponies have never met Opaline but next chapter will pick up with Chapter 6.

"Oh come on. I know I saw some crystals around here last week. Where are they? Huh? Is someone there?" Alexis asks as she is searching for crystals around the bottom of a bridge with a large tree like building on it.

*Timeskip*

"Ah ha! Found them. Finally. Izzy is gonna love these for her crafts." Alexis says happily as she finds some crystals near the bottom of the bridge by a cliff and begins placing them in her bag before stopping hearing something.

"Okay who is there? I can hear you so don't bother hiding... I better get the crystals and get out of here. Either I'm hearing things or worse." Alexis says as grabs her bag and begins to leave before hearing a cracking sound and sees the cliff beginning to crumble beneath her.

"Yikes! Oh no." Alexis says as she begins bolting for safer ground only to miss and step and begin falling only to get caught by someone and sees a dark purple pegasus has ahold of her.

"You saved me?" Alexis asks in surprise.

"It seems I have. Hold on. I'll place you on solid ground." The Pegasus says before she sets Alexis and her bag down in front of the bridge.

"Thank you. I really appreciate that you saved me like that." Alexis says.

"Don't mention it. Ever." The pegasus says as Alexis notices the pony not only has wings but a horn as well.

"Hey you're not just a pegasus. You're an Alicorn!" Alexis says in surprise.

"So you've noticed." The pony says as she begins to turn and leave.

"Yeah. I've only ever known one Alicorn and that's my friend Sunny. Though she's not a an Alicorn by birth. She became one due to the Unity Crystals." Alexis says as the pony stops.

"Sunny you say?" The pony asks as she looks at Alexis.

"Yeah. She's the pony who reunited all of pony kind." Alexis says as she smiles.

"Really now? And you're friends with this Sunny?" The pony asks curiously.

"Yeah. She's like one of my best friends." Alexis says happily.

"Is that so?" The pony asks as Alexis nods.

"Yes." Alexis says.

"Interesting." The pony says.

"I guess. Hey I can bring you to meet her if you want. I'm sure she'd love to meet another Alicorn." Alexis says happily.

"No thanks dearie. I'm not big on meeting new people. But perhaps this Sunny and I can meet another time." The pony says as Alexis nods.

"Sure. I know she'd love that." Alexis says.

"I think I will too." The pony says as she smiles.

"So what's your name?" Alexis asks curiously.

"My name? Why do you want to know my name?" The pony asks in surprise.

"Well you just saved me and it'd be rude of me not to try and shove my savoir a proper thanks by knowing their name and bringing them a gift. As my friend Izzy says a deed paid in full will always come back around. Or well something like that. She has a lot of strange sayings." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.

"I can see that. If you must know my name is Opaline." The pony says as she gives a cautious look.

"It's nice to meet you Opaline. I'm Alexis." Alexis says happily.

"Alexis. I'll have to remember that." Opaline says.

"Sure. Anyway I gotta go but I'll be back in a few days if you don't care for us to meet here again. I want to bring you a gift for saving me." Alexis says.

"Why?" Opaline asks cautiously.

"Well because it's the nice thing to do and besides I like starting off new friendships that way." Alexis says kindly.

"Friendship?" Opaline asks as Alexis looks at her curiously.

"Of course. You have had a friend before right?" Alexis asks curiously as Opaline chuckles nervously.

"Yes of course. Just none of my friends are like you really." Opaline says nervously.

"Well it's nice to have different friends. Anyway thank you again Opaline. I'll see you soon." Alexis says as she grabs her bag.

"See you soon then." Opaline says as she watches Alexis leave.
