Chapter: 1 Strange Meeting
I can't believe I was so foolish.
Why did I let my guard down after I freed the spirit? If I hadn't done that then General Scales wouldn't have taken me by surprise. Now I'm trapped in this damn Cristal, ironic isn't it.
However just as I was about to resign myself to my fate, a bright flash overtook my vision. The light was blinding to the point that I had to shut my eyes in fear of eye damage. After a few seconds I decided it was safe to open my eyes again but was met with an unfamiliar image. I was in some kind of bedroom, it looked quite comfortable actually.
If I wasn't for the fear of the unknown I probably would've taken a breather. Looking around I noticed a window to my right, it was thundering outside and the rain made it impossible to see far. However to my left was a wooden door that looked like it led to a different part of the dwelling. 'Should I even go through? What if it leads to danger, I guess it's better than being trapped in this room…' I thought to myself.
Gathering all of my courage I walked to the door. 'huh, that's odd? Where's the green light, maybe I can't interact with the door'. Just as I was about to look for another way out the door opened, revealing an alien.
I reacted immediately, rolling back and taking a fighting stance. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity.
"Where am I, who and what are you?"
It stood there continuing to stare at me. It then traced me up and down for what felt like a minute making me quite uncomfortable. "Quit starting and answer my questions! Or I'll be forced to use my telepathy." this got its attention, the thing snapped its eyes on mine and started muttering.
"Y-you're Krystal, this is i-impossible…"
"How do you know my name!?" I responded shocked
"You're n-not supposed to be real." it said almost in a whisper.
"What do you mean, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?!" shock became panic in an instant. 'What does it mean! Was I supposed to be dead? Am I dead!'. I Locked eyes with the creature, I could tell it was scared. Trying to calm myself down I decided to take a different approach.
"Please tell me what you mean." I said in a more polite tone, no longer in a fighting stance but my guard still on high alert. Gaining its trust could prove to be useful.
This seemed to do something to the creature. It physically relaxed a bit and closed its eyes trying to gather its thoughts. With a deep drawn out inhale its eyes locked on to anything but me as it explained.
"Ok, um well… You Krystal, are a video game character from the game Star Fox. Which I just so happen to be playing before I left to check on my house generator because of the storm. You are supposed to be a Fictional character…" it stopped as if it just revealed something tabo, then continued "For your other questions, this is my room, my name is Dani, and I am a human."
I didn't believe Dani one bit, everything he said was completely crazy! With no other choice I read his mind… or at least I tried, the second I tried to read his thoughts I experienced sharp head pains causing me to clench my head. Although I couldn't read his thoughts I was able to sense that he believed in what he said.
"You must be delusional, if I was fictional or a game whatever then how am I standing in front of you? And what is Star Fox!" Nothing made sense, causing me to become agitated at this human.
"I-if you allow me, I can show you poof." Dani said, clearly picking up on my irritation.
"Very well, Prove it." I said with confidence dripping from every word. There's no way he could prove I'm fictional, I mean I'm literally standing in front of him! He slowly reached for a purple weirdly shaped object with buttons, a wire ran from it to a purple cube nestled beside a plethora of weirdly shaped tech.
I attempted to read his mind again just to make sure he wasn't grabbing for a weapon and although I couldn't reach his thoughts, I was still able to sense no hostility towards me. He clicked one of the buttons on what I presume is a mini control panel causing the light from the rectangular object to flicker and change.
What I originally thought was a light source revealed itself to be A crude version of a hollow screen. The video showed me flying on the back of the CloudRunner, chasing the dinosaur ship hybrid under General Scales control. However, looking at the control panel in Dani's hands, I soon realized that this was not a video. He controlled my movements, guiding my actions in the video.
Dread started to build in my chest. Wrapping around my lungs as the 2nd me roamed on the ship. He talked to the imprisoned CloudRunnerI about how the (A) button could be used. 'How did I press it, did I ever press it or…' I watched, putting together the pieces in my head. I realized what he meant now, I'm nothing more than a plaything.
"Oh my God"
Note:
This is an idea I had for some time and I thought it'd be pretty cool but I'm no writer so tell me how I can improve on the story going forward! I'll be dropping three chapters bi-weekly hopefully.
