Chapter 13: Break from misery

Leah's lunch break was over. After just few days of this job, she already started to hate it. She was her own boss at the bookshop, she had her own rules there. Working for someone else was feeling so weird and new to her.

She went to the cashier and started to prepare for all the awful customers. It felt like every single one who came here was just rude, miserable idiot. And the worst part... Smiling.

There was VERY STRICK smiling policy. All the employess were forced to smile to all the customers... It was annoying. While Leah was thinking of how terrible this job is, a customer showed up.

''Hi... Welcome to ''Joy-healers'', how can I help you?'' Leah asked, with a clearly fake smile.

''Yeah, I would like french fries with a bottle of water, please...''

Despite the name, this place wasn't joyful at all, it was the most miserable place Leah has ever seen. She got a little pack of done french fries and hanged it over to the customer.

''All right, that will be 5 dollars...''

''Yeah, yeah, whate- WAIT A MINUTE! THERE AREN'T ENOUGH FRIES IN HERE!''

''What? The box is filled with fries'' Leah said, confused.

''Yeah, I know what you scumbags are trying to do! You wanna scam me! There should be at least 30 fries in here, BUT THERE ARE ONLY 27!''

Leah didn't even know what's more insane... How fast this guy managed to count all the fries, or the fact he is being this mad over few fries...

''Are... Are you serious? There is a problem that it's 3 fries less?'' Leah asked, as she started to get angry.

''YES! I would like to speak with the manager!''

The whole situation was ridicilous. Leah was on the verge to yell at the guy, but she was gonna get in alot of trouble if she even dares to talk back to a customer.

''T-There is no need for that, sir... I'm sure we can sort this problem out, without-

''No, I want to see the manager, NOW! Clearly you idiots don't care about customers and try to ROB US LIKE RATS!''

Leah really was on the verge to yell from anger. If she was in the bookshop, by now she was gonna kick this guy. Oh, this job was already awful, why did these guys had to make it even more harder...

''Listen, man, take it or leave! I'm not gonna call the manager OVER 3 FRIES!'' Leah said... As she grabbed the ketchup bottle.

''SHUT UP! I swear, if you don't call the manager, I WILL BREAK YOUR NOSE, YOU LITTLE-

Out of anger... Leah squeezed the whole bottle right at the man's face.

...

Scratch was back from Lecter's house. Because he was 30 minutes late, Lecter made him stay for 5 hours... 1 extra hour of pure torture. The constant yelling was making Scratch hate his entire afterlife. He layed down on the couch and wanted to just relax... And out of nowhere, Ollie opened the door.

''Hello? Is anybody home?''

''Ugh, what do you want, kid?'' Scratch flied to him and asked, annoyed.

''OH, THANK HEAVENS! Scratch, things are getting bad... REALLY BAD! We have 3 days to cure the skinwalker, or my dad will kill her!'' Ollie explained.

''WHAT? You are kidding, right?''

''No! He will kill her, if we don't figure something out in 3 days!'' Ollie said, very worried and scared.

Things are now even worse. Not only he worked the worst job in the entire universe, but he also had to think of a way to cure the little girl. He actually went to a ghost bookshop for curses, but couldn't find anything about skinwalkers.

''Oh dear gosh... Alright, tomorrow I'll talk with the Ghost Council, I'm sure they know something about skinwalkers! For now... I just need a break'' Scratch said, as he layed down on the couch again.

''This is serious, Scratch! Please, promise that you would actually try!''

''Fine, fine! I do, I'll find something... But I really need a rest'' Scratch said, as he closed his eyes.

''Okay... Also, how is Molly? I haven't seen her those days''

Scratch was thinking what to say... Because Ollie still didn't know about the little ''game'' Molly and Libby had. It was for the best that Ollie didn't know, Scratch didn't wanted their relationship to be ruined.

''Uhhhh, I don't know, she wasn't here when I came back...''

''Oh... Well, tell her I came and would love to see her'' Ollie said, as he left.

Scratch finally fall asleep. He really needed a nap after this long shift he had. Just thinking about Lecter was making him feel sick... So sick, he lost his appetite before he came back home.

...

Leah was at the manager's office. After the incident with the customer, she was in trouble... Big trouble. Her boss was a woman with glassess, red hair and slightly red eyes. Her name was Jessica Levine and was new in Brighton. She came in here two weeks ago and already managed to open a whole dinner place, which was very impressive

''I... I Don't even know what to say, Leah. It hasn't been a week for you, but you managed to do such a stupid thing. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING, BIRDBRAIN?''

''I-I'm sorry... I just lost my temper...'' Leah said, ashamed.

''Lost your temper? You caused more problems for ME, than you caused for YOURSELF!'' Jessica said, angry.

''I know, I know... I'm sorry...''

''Sorry is not gonna help. For something like that, I'll have to fire you...''

''WHAT? No, no, no, please! That's the only job I managed to find here, please! Cut my salary, double my shifts, do whatever you want with me, BUT PLEASE don't fire me!'' Leah begged.

''Ugh, fine... I won't fire you, but I don't want something like this to happen again... Understand?''

''YES, THANK YOU! I... I promise, this won't happen again!''

''Great... And there is another thing I want to talk with you... Smile more, please. Part of our policy'' Jessica said... With a little evil smile.

That woman... Was pretty weird. No one knew a thing about her, she just showed up in town and stole half the customers from other restaurants in Brighton. Her hair wasn't naturaly red, it was bloody red... She probably dyed it, but her eyes... There was no explanation about her eyes. They were slightly red, Leah had no idea there was such an eye color.

''Do we have to? It feels very weird to smile, even when-

''YES! As I said, part of the policy... My place, my rules!''

''Well... Alright'' Leah said, as she was ready to leave.

''Your shift is over after an hour, but because of today's incident I'll keep you for more 30 minutes''

''No problem... I don't have any plans for today anyway''

''Glad that you aren't complaining. Also... When you get back home, tell Libby that I said hi'' Jessica said... With the most evil smile Leah has ever seen.

''Wait... How do you know about her, I never told you that I even have a-

''GO! I have very important business meeting after few minutes, you need to leave! Back to work!'' Jessica said, as she pushed Leah out of her office.

Leah really was finding her boss weird. Jessica was in town for 2 weeks and already knew many things about Leah... Things she herself never even told her.

''So, feeling any better?'' One of the employs asked her.

''Yes... But honestly, this woman creeps me out...''

...

Molly and Libby were in the attic. Scratch was sleeping on the couch and Molly's parents were gone, so they were alone... With no one to bother them this time.

''So, how is your mom's job?'' Molly asked, as she layed down on her bed, while Libby just sat on the chair next to it.

''Not good. She aways comes back home tired, some customers stress her out... I just want our bookshop back...''

It was heartbreaking that Libby and her mom were homeless. Not techically, but no place could replace their true home. It wasn't much, but Libby really loved and missed it.

''Oh, Libby... I promise, we'll find a way to fix your bookshop! We'll get enough money, we can start a fundraiser-

''Molly, I appreciate the effort, but there is no need to do it... As I told you, that's a ''me'' problem, not a ''we'' problem'' Libby interupted.

''Don't say that! Best friends aways help each other, no matter what!'' Molly said, as she got up and hugged Libby.

Molly aways hugged her best friends, but this time she started to enjoy every single second Libby was in her arms. Just seeing Libby started to melt Molly's heart. While she was hugging her... She kissed her cheek.

''Awww, Molly... You are so sweet!'' Libby said, as she hugged her back.

There was one thing Molly wanted to do... One thing she craved to do. Was she gonna get in trouble for it? Yes. Did she cared? No... Absolutely not. Molly started to kiss her cheek... Again, and again, and again... But this time, Libby freed herself and got up.

''Woah, woah, woah! Molly... We can't do that...'' Libby said with a sad look in her eyes.

''Wha, why not? This time no one will find out, I promise!'' Molly said... As she grabbed Libby's arm.

''N-No! It's... It's wrong! You have a boyfried, that's cheating! I... I don't want to ruin your relationship...''

''Libby, Libby... Libby! You are not gonna ruin anything, because Ollie will never find out. Not him, not my parents, not your mom, no one! That's our little secret'' Molly wispered to her ear... And kissed her cheek again.

''I... I don't know, my mom said-

''Come on... You know you also want it. You aways liked and enjoyed our ''game''. You really, reaaaaally enjoy it... Am I wrong?'' Molly asked with an evil smile.

''Ummm... No... I... I do like it...''

''Thaaaat's right. It's good for you... Good for me...'' Molly said... As she slowly layed Libby on her bed... And got on top of her.

The whole situation was weird. Libby was both uncomfortable... And also really liked when they were doing those foreplays. She was planning to push Molly away and just leave... But the moment Molly started to kiss her, she decided to stay.

''Oh wait... I almost forgot''

Molly got up... Locked her attic door and made sure no one can hear them. She went to her bed and got on top of Libby again, and continued with the kissing.

Molly was kissing Libby's cheek... And Libby herself kissed Molly on the lips. It was clear they were gonna do that again...

''Ohohoho... Easy there, Libby'' Molly jokingly said.

''Easy? Oh no, I'm not going easy on you!'' Libby jokingly said... And started to tickle Molly.

She just grabbed Molly and started to tickle her. Molly was laughing, while Libby was tickling and kissing her. Molly then freed herself, grabbed Libby and started to tickle and kiss her back.

30 minutes... From 30 minutes, Molly and Libby were kissing, cuddling, tickling and playing with each other's hair. Libby knew this was wrong, but she couldn't resist it.

This time things were getting... Diffirent. Molly started to playfuly bite her, while Libby... Got an interesting idea. She saw a blindfold close to Molly, so she grabbed it.

''What's tha for?''

''Oh, I sometimes sleep with it... Why?'' Molly asked... As deep down, she actually knew why Libby was asking.

''HahahahAHAHAHA... Don't move!'' Libby grabbed Molly and putted the blindfold on her eyes.

Molly also started to laugh, while Libby was kissing her passinotely. While still wearing the blindfold, Molly grabbed the blanket that was under them, and covered herself and Libby. While they were doing that, the new lightbulb in Molly's room started to flick, but the didn't pay any attention to it.

The two girls continued with their ''playing'' under the covers. They had no idea why, but they were taking this foreplay way too seriosly. They were cuddling and kissing so passinotely... It felt like the greatest experience for both of them... And the whole time, the lightbulb didn't stop to flicker.

''I love you, Libbyyyyyy...'' Molly wispered.

''I love you too'' Libby said, as she continued to kiss her.

It was summer and it was so hot, so after few minutes they got out of the covers and continued. Molly's eyes also started to get teary from the blindfold, so she took it away.

It was now afternoon... Molly's parents were gonna come home soon, but they didn't stop. For 2 hours, they were just hugging, tickling and kissing. At one point, they even tried to kiss with their tongues...

''Keep going, Libby... Keep going...''

''Oh, I'm not planning to stop any time soon'' Libby said, as she continued to kiss Molly on the lips.

Molly was enjoying every single second of that moment. From all the times they did this, this one was the best ever. This time, they were kissing and hugging way harder... Way more pleasurable. Molly didn't even care when her parents were gonna come, she wanted this moment to never end. While they were kissing... And on the verge to feeling something they shouldn't feel... Libby's phone rang.

''Ugh, now?''

Libby got her phone, annoyed... And saw it was her mom.

''Hello?''

''Hi, turtledove, where are you?''

''Uhhhh, just payed Molly a visit, I'll come home soon'' Libby said.

''Oh... Okay, just to let you know that me and John will go out to eat tonight, I left you dinner at the table. Come home soon, love you, bye!'' Leah said and closed the phone.

''You know... Your mom and that cop start to get very close'' Molly said with a joking smile.

''I know, right? There are sparks between them, I can see it'' Libby said, ready to leave.

''Oh baby corn, that was so good... Wanna... Do it again tomorrow?''

''But... Your parents-

''Who said it should be here? There are some secret places in the park... Where no one can see us'' Molly said... As she hugged and started to ''walk'' her fingers on Libby's chest.

''Mhmmmmm... I'll think about it. Gotta go! Bye, Molly, love you'' Libby said, as she kissed Molly's cheek and left the attic.

This sure was a great afternoon... Pleasurable afternoon. Molly couldn't wait to see Libby tomorrow. Who know... Maybe she doesn't need Ollie at all. She then realized how often that stupid lightbulb was flickering... Maybe they are just fake...
