Husk hummed a soft Jazz tune as he adjusted his bowtie, sighing heavily as he looked at his reflection in his bathroom mirror. The old cat ran his fingers through his mussy head fur and groaned, trying to get it to even out a bit. "Damn it," Husk huffed, "Where's that hair gel?" Husk opened up his medicine cabinet and spotted a small tube labeled 'Slick N' Stick.' "Ah, there you are." Husk grabbed the tube and applied a small amount to his palm, wetting it in the sink before running it through his fur and setting it in a nice, slicked-back style. "There we go; that should hold."
"Oh, Husky," a familiar voice sang, "It's going on 7:30; you about ready?" "Yep, just give me a second." Husk called, "Just need to grab something really quick." Angel waited outside Husk's bathroom, looking at some of the knick-knacks and photos. There was one item in particular that really caught his eye; a small, old-fashioned looking pocket watch fashioned to resemble a Poker chip adorned with the symbols of the four Poker suits, each with a tiny jewel at their center.
"Ugh, sorry 'bout the wait," Husk sighed as he walked out of the bathroom, tucking in his dress shirt, "I had to, uh… well, let's just say I need to rearrange the space under my bathroom sink. I was looking for something and it took me forever, man." "Hehe, no problem, Husk." Angel chuckled, "So, you ready to go?" Husk smiled and nodded, saying, "You bet. Let's boogie." Angel wrapped his arm around Husk's shoulder as he grabbed his little bowler hat and the two made their way downstairs. Husk smiled as he looked up at Angel, scanning him up and down and admiring his outfit. Angel was wearing a lovely black pantsuit with pastel and hot pink highlights, his usual white and pink gloves, black boots, and black choker and bowtie. His face was fully dolled up and he had a cute little black floral pin in his hair.
Angel chuckled as he looked down and saw Husk smiling up at him. "See something you like, Husky?" Angel asked teasingly. "Oh, uh," Husk's cheeks blushed as he quickly turned away, "It's nothing. You just look… really nice." Angel chuckled, pulling Husk closer as they walked up to the front door. Husk opened the door and gestured to Angel, saying, "After you." "Ah, Husker, there you are," a familiar voice crackled, "I was wondering where you'd gotten to."
"Ugh… hello, boss," Husk sighed, "What do you want?" "Who says I want anything?" Alastor teased, "Perhaps I'm just looking to have a pleasant chat with one of my favorite employees." Husk sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he closed the front door and said, "Al, listen, I've got too many reasons to be happy today. So, can you please just tell me what you want so I can get back to appreciating the fact that I exist?"
"Oh? And what, may I ask, is the occasion?" Alastor asked, "It must be quite the occasion for you to be wearing something so… classy." "You saying I don't have class?" Husk asked, crossing his arms. "You said it, not me. Still," Alastor paused, humming as he circled Husk, bending down to look the cat demon in the eye and pointing to his bowtie, "I can't recall the last time I saw you wearing a different tie." Husk gently touched his tie and took a step back. "I also can't remember when I last saw you wearing your… old colors."
"Alastor… it's just a suit," Husk assured, "Besides, Rosie made it for me; of course I'm gonna wear it. As much as I can… any chance I get." Alastor let out a soft growl as he stood back up and huffed. "Plus, what else would I wear out on a date? I'm sure as hell not gonna wear my bartender's getup to meet with my daughter and son-in-law. So, if you'll excuse me, my date is waiting for me."
Alastor growled softly as Husk turned and walked out the front door. He quietly opened the door and watched as Husk ran down the path and met up with Angel. "Where'd you go, Husk?" Angel asked, "I thought you'd vanished on me or something." "Sorry, Angel," Husk sighed, pausing to peer over his shoulder for a second before turning back to Angel and said, "Alastor just needed to talk to me about something really quick; nothing you need to worry about." "Uh… well," Angel looked and saw Alastor watching from the front doors, an uncomfortably wide grin plastered on his face, "Ugh… if you say so, Husk. Come on, I can see our taxi coming." Husk nodded, flashing Alastor a stern look before offering Angel his arm and leading him down the walkway to the street.
