AN: Half the chapter is about Qrow and then Adam in the second half. I'm not going to say that their dialogue is exactly what they would say or their reactions are exactly what they would do because I can't read a character, fictional or not, perfectly. It's impossible unless you study their every action and make educated guesses on how they would react. Complicated stuff that makes me less motivated to write.

Also, sorry about Adam being 20% of the fanfic and the other characters 80%. Right now he doesn't have a significant role, but later on in the story he will.

Jester3423377: I would love to give him clothing, but I kind of want to see everyone's reaction to Adam being, you know, almost bare naked, I can already see some funny moments and him ruining serious moments. At times he will be given clothing and he will wear them because I don't think he could walk into a kingdom without clothing on, you know, indecent exposure, but he will always take them off afterward when he doesn't need them. He just seems comfortable with just a fig leaf covering his crotch. Oh, and I won't explain the mystical powers of the fig leaf, it will always stay on during battles and won't ever be taken off or blown away.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

Qrow… a man of a few words- well, plenty of words. But not many people know much about him. They don't know that he was from the Branwen Tribe, born into it, and they don't know that he can turn into a bird, Ozpin to thank for that. They don't know the responsibilities he bears, making sure the information he retrieves is accurate, and, lastly, they don't know the biggest threat to mankind, Salem.

So, he did everything in his power to help Ozpin defeat Salem, and he thought his team would lend a helping hand to Ozpin. Which they did, well, some of them did.

His sister, Raven, at first did help. When they first joined Ozpin's secret group he and Raven had the responsibility of reconnaissance, the both of them tracked down Salem's forces and tried to group hosts of the maiden powers, but something changed her, or scared her to the point that she ran away.

She was scared of the power Salem held, and even when Raven denied his accusations he knew she was scared. There couldn't be any other reason, but as much as he hated Raven for being a coward, he also despised that she ran away when she had a family, leaving Tai and her daughter, who couldn't even walk yet, behind.

So, he took it upon himself to visit Tai and his niece, Yang. Now, his niece and her mother looked alike, except for the hair which was a different color, and her face, except the eyes.

Okay, maybe they didn't look that similar, but the similarities were there.

He didn't mind visiting his niece a few times a week, and meeting his old pal Tai was a bonus too. But not too long after that, the girl he loved, Summer, fell in love with Tai.

Qrow wouldn't have cared if Tai managed to make Summer fall in love with him with effort, but Summer just fell in love with Tai just like that, love at first sight or some bullshit.

But no matter how hard he tried to make Summer fall in love with him, through flirting or 'accidents,' she never budged, but Tai didn't even have to try, Summer instantly had hearts in her eyes.

He wasn't sure when it all happened, how Summer suddenly fell in love with Tai. Maybe she was the shy lover type and she didn't want to approach Tai because he already had a lover, Raven.

That kind of makes sense now.

But It made him pissed that Tai was the reason that Summer wouldn't consider a relationship with him, but he wouldn't let that stop him from visiting his niece because his niece was his responsibility.

He believed that his niece, Yang, was his responsibility after what Raven pulled.

After all that, during the four years in Beacon, he thought that Raven would have left her old life behind, their old life behind, but she did not, and instead, she left her new life behind.

He kind of understood why, though, it did not make it any easier to accept. The reason why they made it to Beacon was because of them, their tribe. Maybe Raven felt a responsibility to return to them and protect them as thanks for allowing her to become as strong as she is now.

But to show thanks to a group of bandits, even if it was a passing thought, it still sounded pretty stupid. They were bandits, not a nice and happy family. All they knew how to do was kill and pillage innocent towns and villages.

Hell, if he hated them even a little more than he does now, he would believe it if someone called them glorified grimm. They pretty much did the same thing as grimm, kill innocents and destroy thriving towns.

So, guess how he felt when he heard Summer got pregnant, by Tai at that. It devastated him, and that was when his bad drinking habit became worse.

But it was not Tai nor Summer who informed him about her pregnancy, but Ozpin. Ozpin had to break the news to him, and after that, instead of being down in the dumps, he was just furious.

He liked to believe he would have handled it pretty well. But he probably would have acted the same, be it that Ozpin informed him or they informed him, he would have still been distressed by the news.

The funny thing is, his job was to gather information. He made sure he got every little detail. He made sure he could get every last bit of it. And when he made his reports to Ozpin, it made him glad, glad he could be of help, that somehow the information he gathered would be helpful against Salem.

But after hearing about Summer's pregnancy with Tai's kid, he did not visit his niece for a few months because he knew, they knew. Tai and Summer knew that he loved Summer, but they did not even bother telling him face to face because they did not know how he would react.

Qrow needed a break from it all. And what better way to do that than having a nice cold drink… every day? Sure, some days ended with him waking up with a random woman in the same bed as him, but it was better than nothing.

Though he knew he had to pull his life together. But he did not know when and how long it would take.

So, eventually, he had to let go of his grudge. Even if it annoyed him, but that annoying feeling nagging at his head disappeared when he showed up at their front door.

When he saw Summer's and Tai's reaction to his sudden visit, it almost made him roll over in laughter. He had not seen them that shocked when Tai walked in on Raven undressing herself while he and Summer watched from outside their dorm.

He remembered it like it was yesterday. He was trying to hold in his laughter, Summer's face turned red as her jaw hung low, Tai's eyes widened at the sight of an almost naked Raven, and his sister, Raven, god, he had never seen her that angry nor has he even seen her that red before.

He remembered how he and Tai were outside the day after the incident.

When he first saw Tai, he thought it was someone who looked pretty similar to him, sitting on one of the many benches the school had set up outside. But when he got close enough to get a better view of the person, he realized it was Tai.

So, that's when he took a seat next to Tai. Qrow remembered how Tai talked about how he ingrained the image of, at the time, last night's incident into his mind. But he guessed Tai deserved it, plus, Tai already paid the price with both his eyes being swollen and bruises covering his face. It was so bad that you would think he was turning purple due to suffocation.

But as much as Qrow would love to reminiscent about his past, he didn't have the luxury right now.

Qrow was too busy multitasking. Before he left to go find Ruby, he told Tai that he would be watching over Yang while also looking for Ruby, but once Qrow focused more on finding Ruby, he realized too late that Yang was gone from his sight.

He wasn't bad at keeping track of people. He had experience following people due to some of Ozpin's requests on keeping an eye on certain people, well, a bird's eye view.

Yes, he can transform into a bird, a crow, specifically. But it's pretty ironic, his name sounded just like the word crow, and he can transform into one.

"Adam…" Ruby repeated, "Who are you?"

"Ah…" To him, he saw them all as his children. He liked to believe his children viewed him as a father, but it wasn't his decision to decide what his children viewed him as. They all viewed him differently.

"Who do you think I am?" Adam asked, "Am I the man you fear? Am I the man you envy? Am I the man you admire, or maybe the man you despise?" He added.

"Tell me, who am I?" Adam repeated.

"Ugh," Yang groaned in annoyance, "She literally just asked you that and you just made it more confusing, are you trying to act cool? Because it's not working."

Adam glanced towards Yang, she was in way worse condition than Ruby, blood traveled down her skin leaving a red glossy trail behind. Even her clothing soaked up some of it. The fact she was still standing was admirable, maybe it was her will letting her push on, or maybe she was still standing because of her baby sister. It all didn't matter to Adam, in the end, it was admirable and it made him proud that she was his descendant.

"I was merely curious how my children view me. Will you answer my question?" Adam asked, locking eyes with Yang.

"W-what?" Yang clenched her fists, "Listen here, I'm not your child, and if you're so curious about how I view you then I'll tell you. You're a weirdo who's getting too comfortable with my baby sister."

Yang felt a pang of pain in her heart, her fists loosened, "I mean, thanks for saving us, but I'd prefer if you weren't so close to my baby sister."

"I see, I'm sorry you feel that way." Adam said.

He understood her worry, and if he could put her at ease by moving away from the other young one then he would.

Adam wanted to talk a little longer, but he wasn't good with words. So, on a decision based on the situation, he would protect these two until they were safe.

Swoosh

Adam's upper body swerved to the side, dodging an attack from a man with black spiky hair and dim red eyes who stood before him, one of the man's legs extended out. The man tried knocking him out cold, directly aiming where his head was a moment ago.

"What?" The man said in surprise before jumping backward, coincidentally towards Ruby and Yang.

"Uncle Qrow!" The two of them shouted.

"Long time no see, kiddos." Qrow grinned, "I would love to hear what happened to you two, especially you Yang, but I have a very important question I need you two to answer." Qrow said.

"Yeah, what is it?" Yang replied.

"Did this man do anything to you two?" Qrow asked as his tone darkened.

"As if, I wouldn't let him touch my baby sister." Yang said, though technically he already did.

"Good, good… that's good to hear." Qrow said with a relieved expression before it turned serious.

"So mind explaining what you planned to do with my nieces?" Qrow said, "Because if I don't like your answer, I might just have to rough you up."

Before Adam could say anything, Ruby spoke up, "Don't hurt him! H-he saved us from a pack of beowolves, if he didn't help us we… we-" Before Ruby could say anything else Yang stopped her.

"Yeah, it's true, he did save us and if it weren't for him we would be where mom is now…" Yang said in her baby sister's stead, Ruby already dealt with enough for today Yang didn't want her to deal with any more.

Hearing this caused Qrow to cringe, he remembered having to tell Tai about Summer's death. He knew that he said Summer was possibly M.I.A, but in reality, she was dead due to a fight breaking out between her and Salem's agents.

But he didn't know Tai's daughters knew about it, he would have to ask Tai why he told them about their mother's death, especially when they're at a vulnerable age, it could affect them their entire life.

Qrow let out a sigh as he relaxed his grip on his weapon, "Then mind explaining me why he's basically naked right now?" Qrow asked, "I thought I was too proud of my physique, but here comes a man so proud that he's walking around almost bare naked." Qrow whispered under his breath as he rubbed his temple.

That or he's a creep, a creep who saved his nieces, and he'll be indebted to this creep. He just hoped the man didn't ask for anything weird or illegal.

"Oh, I don't know, he just showed up like that." Yang shrugged her shoulders.

"So, you're telling me, that he showed up like that? Great, maybe he's Ta***n's long lost brother." Qrow said.

"Oh~ I love that book, can you read it to me again, Yang?" Ruby said.

"Oh yea, may-…" But Yang couldn't finish her sentence. A loud thump could be heard, the source was from Yang hitting the ground as she fell flat on the cold hard ground. All the adrenaline keeping her body up had finally disappeared along with her consciousness.

"Y-Yang?!" Ruby cried out.

"Crap." Qrow said to himself.

"Hey blondie, thanks for saving my nieces. I owe you one, but you really should find yourself a pair of clothing or else people might get the wrong idea." Qrow told Adam.

"But it also just so happens I have a few to spare, so, mind coming along?" Qrow said, "And I won't take no for an answer, I can't let the person who saved my nieces leave without something in return." Qrow said with a grin, but there was an obvious ulterior motive behind it.

But Adam wasn't the type to care, he knew that some of his children would either end up doing good to mankind or end up doing bad to mankind, and if it so happened to be the latter, he hoped they would learn from their actions and mistakes. And if they continued he would be the one to change them, no matter how long it took.

"So how about it, you coming or not?" Qrow asked.

Adam nodded, "Sure…" It's not like he had anywhere else to go, and a friend did ask him to speak with his children. So he will do just that.

But will it be enough to fill the void in his heart?

"Great." Qrow said before grunting as he picked up Yang and threw her over his shoulder, "Now let's head back home before your dad starts going crazy looking for you, kiddo." Qrow said.

"R-right." Ruby agreed. She followed behind Qrow, sparing Adam one last glance before looking back at her sister, Yang, hanging from Qrow's shoulder.

"Ha… he's going to end up going crazy anyhow, especially with Yang's condition," Qrow said, "I can already hear him yelling and feel the oncoming headaches."

AN: I will probably be updating every 3-7 days now. Chapters will still be around 2k+ words per chapter or more if I gain a boost of motivation. It's mostly because I've lost the energy to type for, I don't know, 4 or 6 hours straight. The reason for the 3-7 days thing is that I need those extra days to refresh my mind. I usually like re-reading the chapters I finished and plan to upload a second or third time to make sure I don't have any spelling errors or typos, and to see if I could add a lot more details to the chapter but to do all that I need a refresher.

Anyway, see you guys next chapter, whenever that'll be.
