Crazy trouble with love part 10
Roadside Girls and Dipper
Series: Gravity Falls
xxxxxxxxxxxx
The camera panned in on a small roadside motel with several campers in the parking lot alongside a few cars. Surprisingly, this seemed like a normal, rundown motel, with nothing strange about it. Of course given the odd things tourists can come across in this location, something normal would seem like the strangest of them all. As the camera panned in, it began to focus on a single individual, a short girl with freckles, auburn hair in pigtails held by pink scrunchies, wearing a pink crop top and red shorts.
Said girl was staring up at the ceiling of the room she and her parents were gonna be staying at for a bit. Right now she was by herself on account of her folks going out to get formula for her new baby brother. Turns out they couldn't get to Canada in time before she gave birth, but at least they had one more member on their trip.
"Ugh… this trip has just been one mess after another." She muttered to herself as she shook her head. "This was supposed to be the best family roadtrip ever, but it turned out to be a lie."
As she went through everything that had gone wrong, from the car breaking down a few times, her mom's crazy cravings, and the time she had to wrestle her phone from a random goat, one glaring event weighed on her mind that annoyed her more than anything, the betrayal of that boy, Dipper Pines.
Sure it was a brief meeting, but he seemed like a nice guy, nice enough to give her email with the hope they could talk some more. Unfortunately not even an hour later she learned that he'd also been asking other girls for their emails as well!
"Ugh!" she sat up and got off the bed, making her way out of the room. "I need a soda to distract me."
"Make sure to grab some ice if you're going out!" Her mother called from another room.
"Will do!"
With that she walked down the sidewalk of the motel, past other doors, and over near the restrooms where a vending machine stood. She approached it and began to put her money in, hit the key to dispense the soda, and…nothing happened. She frowned and hit the machine, trying to get what it owed her. "C'mon, c'mon!"
Banging her fist on the glass did nothing, so she tried to grab it and shake it, with it barely jostling. "Give me my soda!"
Unfortunately, the machine did not yield and she felt her eyes start to water, this one last cruelty from the world, the final straw.
"No, you are a soda machine, something will go right today damn it. I will not let something like this go wrong, like…like Dipper, and Canada and… ugh!" she grumbled as she tried wiping her eyes, about to run without looking before crashing into someone and fell back. "Ow!"
"Ugh!" The other person groaned as they stumbled back. "Ow, watch it…wait, I know you!"
Emma opened her eyes, looking at a girl with long brown hair, tied into a plat and worn over her shoulder, wearing a light pink T-shirt, a darker pink skirt, white and pink sneakers, and had a pair of green-framed sunglasses over her head, sitting on her rear like herself. "Wait… you're one of the girls!"
"So are you." she let out, getting back up while dusting herself as Emma did the same. "What are you doing here?"
"My family got stuck here… look, it doesn't matter." She said, shaking her head. "I just wanna get my soda and forget about things."
"Same, until someone rudely pushed me to the ground."
"Wha- I bumped you, it was an accident!" she defended herself with a huff as the girl threw her clot over her shoulder with a hand on her hip. "If anything, I should be asking why you're here."
"I just came out for some fresh air." she replied with a frown while looking away. "It helps me relax, and forget…"
"Same…" Emma said, looking away. It hadn't quite occurred to her until then, that the other girls had just as much reason to be upset as she did.
The two girls didn't look the other in the eye, momentarily caught off guard from the sudden meeting.
The girl with sunglasses glanced at Emma and sighed before moving over to the vending machine. "Which one?"
"Huh?"
"Which soda?" she asked while pulling out a swiss army knife.
"The orange soda, why?" She asked, looking at her in confusion.
The girl unfolded out a screwdriver before digging into the button and popped it loose, reaching in and fiddling with something before the soda dropped down. "There."
"Woah, how did you do that?"
"You pick up a thing or two." She shrugged. "So…. yeah."
"Yeah…." Emma said, taking the soda, staring at it before sighing. "I'm sorry, I don't think we ever had a proper introduction. I'm Emma."
"I'm Chloe." she slipped the knife away in her pocket. "Didn't really get a chance to introduce myself after…him."
"Yeah." Came a third voice, making them quickly turn to see another girl standing right behind them. She had dark skin and curly dark brown hair, wearing a light blue T-shirt with a log stamped on it, a green skirt, black Mary Janes with white socks and a Log Land log-shaped hat. She also wore red lipstick. "Join the club."
"You!?" Emma and Chloe let out at once, the first one doing a quick spit-take to the side. "What are you doing here?"
"My folks and I lost our tent so we decided to stay here since it's not safe around here at night." She sighed. "I hate being in such a dirty… human made structure."
Emma and Chloe looked at her confused before the girl shook her head.
"I mean, motels aren't really that clean and well kept, so I just don't wanna catch anything!" she quickly clarified.
"Yeah…. So, uh… I'm sorry, what's your name?" Chloe asked in confusion.
"Oh right, I'm Sabrina." She smiled. "And you?"
"Chloe… look, I have to admit, this feels kinda weird, I mean, we were all tricked by Dipper, and now we're just talking together?" she looked between the two. "Like, what are the chances we'd all end up at the same place after that?"
"Slim." replied Emma looking down at her soda. "This day just can't give me a break, can it?" she muttered to herself.
"Tell me about it." Sabrina sighed. "I can't believe he tricked us all like that!"
"Yeah, asking all of us for our email?" Chloe remarked with a huff before pausing. "Wait…I have to ask, but…did he do anything else with you two?"
"Like what?"
"You know, make any promises to take you out on a date."
"No." Emma shook her head. "He just asked for my email so we could talk later, but that's it. We couldn't really spend time together since my mom was about to give birth."
"Same, we didn't even hold hands, he just said he'd like to get to know me better, why do you ask?" Sabrina remarked, curious at what Chloe was trying to get to.
"So like, he didn't say if he wanted to hook up?"
"No."
Chloe looked down in thought as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "This…This sounds ridiculous, but…do you think we overreacted?"
"What? No, of course….not." Emma started before trailing off as she began to put the pieces together in her mind. She remembered him talking to her, him being nice and a bit charming, getting her information then,,,, then she left with her family. "Oh no…"
"What? What's going on?" asked Sabrina.
"Quick, can you remember how you and Dipper met? Did anything happen that made it seem like he was some jerk?"
"Um…. no, not really, I mean he was a bit of a smooth talker and… that's kinda it?"
"Then answer this: Why did you get mad at him?"
"Well isn't it obvious? Because he was on a date with some other girl."
"Yeah, but WHY?" clarified Chloe. "None of us were dating him, right?"
"Well no, but…wait…" Sabrina looked down in thought before her eyes widened and she facepalmed. "Oh no…"
"I can't believe we did that." spoke Emma looking down with embarrassment as she tugged on one of her ponytails. "We just met him and gave him our emails, but that was it."
"Exactly." Chloe held up her finger. "We just assumed he wanted to be something more, but as soon as we saw him with another girl we acted like complete idiots. I mean, we barely know the guy, so why get mad? It's not like he wanted to date, just talk, that's it."
"I mean… it was a bit implied?" Sabrina said nervously. "Or…maybe I just hoped it would be?"
"Yeah, I was kinda hoping that too." Chloe admitted, rubbing her arm. "But looking back? I feel like we messed up. I mean sure, he looked cute, and I did feel betrayed, but besides talking, nothing happened before that. And let's be honest, if you're on a road trip, what are the chances someone you meet would want a relationship THAT fast?"
"Yeah, and he wanted the email to get to actually know us and keep in touch…" Emma groaned. "How did we mess up this badly?"
All three looked down as the realization finally set in and just made them feel more down.
"Ugh!" Chloe grabbed her head and stamped her foot. "I can't believe I didn't realize this sooner! I'm such an idiot!"
"Well, at least you're not an idiot alone." Sabrina sighed. "We all goofed up here."
"Which means I probably messed up any chance." sighed Emma, finishing her soda and tossing the soda can behind her casually. "Now I'm gonna feel bad about it for the rest of the night."
"Yeah…" Sabrina sighed, shaking her head in disappointment.
Chloe huffed and stamped the ground again, this time her foot coming down in a hole before she stopped and felt something brush against her ankle, something scaly. She grimaced and shivered before letting out a scared yelp, two black wings coming from her back as she flew up from the ground, Emma and Sabrina's eyes going wide. "Snake!"
"Huh?! Snake?!" Sabrina cried out, jumping back as her legs began to grow, becoming wooden as she looked around nervously.
"Holy cow!" Emma let out, pointing at the girls in surprise. "Y-You two aren't human!"
Chloe looked and paled before dropping down with the wings vanishing as she tried smiling. "What? That's crazy. I'm completely human."
"Y-Yeah, I uh… just have dry skin." Sabrina said nervously.
"You can't fool me, you two are like me." smirked Emma before closing her eyes as her skin started to turn darker green with a tail sprouting from her shorts, opening them as the pupils were slits down. "Well, kinda."
"Wait, you're a monster too? Huh… talk about coincidences, huh? What are the odds Dipper talked to all of us, and we're all monsters?"
"Less than slim." Emma said in surprise. "Do you think he knew?"
"Doubt it. I mean come on, he's just a normal boy, who looks cute when nervous." Chloe casually remarked.
"Yeah, and his little stutter is just adorable." Emma said with a grin.
"And he does have a good sense of humor." smiled Sabrina. "I don't really meet many boys my age at my favorite tourist spot who really pay attention."
"Yeah." Chloe nodded. "Hey… do you think we could fix this?"
"Fix it?"
"Yeah. Come on, sure we messed up, but what's stopping us from talking things out and apologizing."
"Well, we don't know where he is for one thing." Emma groaned.
"He didn't say where he lived to either of you? Not an address? Anything?"
"Well… yes and no." Sabrina perked up. "I did see a Mystery Shack sticker on the side of their vehicle that kinda looked like his weird grandpa, maybe he's there?"
"Sweet, then we know where to start." smirked Chloe.
"Yeah, we just have to get our families to take us to him!"
"And to make it fair, we work together and don't try to stab each other in the back."
"Deal!"
(Later)
"So, the Mystery Shack, huh?" An older man asked as Sabrina nodded excitedly. "I'm not really sure, it seems a bit far…"
"It's worth it! I heard uh…. That there is an amazing forest surrounding it, full of ancient trees!"
"Really now?" He asked, perking up. "Old growth trees? Well, I wouldn't mind seeing some of those! Oh, the stories they could tell us!"
"Does that mean we can go?"
"Sure, I suppose we can swing by, what do you think honey?" He asked, turning to what looked like a normal tree in the back of a camper.
"Sounds like fun." it let out in a woman's voice with the leaves lightly shaking.
"Great! Then let's go!" Sabrina said eagerly. Meanwhile Emma was having a bit more difficulty in persuading her parents.
"Your mother just had the baby, and now you want to get back in the van?"
"I know it's a lot, but look at it like this. We can get a head start on showing the baby all the great tourist spots." She said as her father stared at her unimpressed. "Um…. it uh…. It's a good idea, really!"
"Emma, I might be eager to get back on the open road and see the sights, but even I know when it's time to take it easy." He sighed as she looked around nervously.
"But…but…I have to go!"
"Why? What could be so important that you'd want us to hurry on out of here?" He asked, cocking an eye.
"It… it's just a really cool place with some amazing people there?" she tried to reason while looking away.
"Emma, we both know that ain't….hold up a sec!" he stood up in shock. "Is this about a boy?!"
"N-No!" She said, her face heating up along with a few scales showing as well.
"It is!" he let out before letting out a cheer and pumped his fists up. "Woohoo! My little girl's growing up!"
"N-No I'm not! Stop that!" She cried out in embarrassment.
"Hey Sally! Emma wants to go see a boy!"
"Really? That's great!"
"No it isn't!" She cried out, now fully red.
"Well, we better go and see this casanova who's charmed our little girl!"
"Daaaaad!" She groaned, unsure to be happy they were going, or mortified that her parents would meet Dipper. With Chloe? She was having a harder time.
"No, no, no, absolutely not!" a tall woman snapped, growling as several feathers poked out of her long black hair.
"But mom!"
"No buts young lady!"
"But why?!"
"Because we're already on a tight enough schedule as is, and trying to move away from it would just cause it to fall apart." She remarked, crossing her arms. "Hell, we may not even make it to the great ball of twine in Minnesota at this rate before we have to go back to the nest!"
"But mom, this is better than some dumb twine."
"How can you say that?! That twine is the perfect material for our nest!" She remarked with squawk. "Does your silly little shop have that? Hmmm?"
"Well…it could. I mean, it's called the Mystery Shack, so it might have all kinds of stuff we couldn't find anywhere else." She said weakly as her mother looked at her, unimpressed. Chloe gulped as she racked her brain, trying to find anything that might sway her mother before remembering Dipper's uncle, the strange weirdo who seemed to deface the other places her family had visited, and who she'd last seen stealing stuff from the gift shop. "His… his uncle is a hoarder! One who loves crazy, unique stuff and isn't afraid to steal it! Maybe he has a shiny trinket we could steal?"
"A hoarder you say?" She mused, pausing.
"Y-Yeah! He has a shiny cane too! A-And since he collects strange stuff for the shack, they might be rare, not to mention magical!"
"Magical trinkets… rare ones you say?"
"Oh big time." She nodded, seeing the greedy glimmer in her mother's eye. 'Ok, I just need to really sell it now!'
"Hmm, but how do we know for sure if they're legit and not just cheap knock-offs?"
"Well, uh… we don't… until we verify it ourselves in person?"
"Hmmm…." Her mother mused, seeming to agree, but not quite ready to change their plans.
"I-I uh…. If I'm wrong, can you have everything I collected on our trip?"
"Mmm, deal." SHe grinned, shaking Chloe's hand. "Let's go!"
'Yes!' She grinned as she and her mother ran outside, large black wings growing from their backs as they ran. They took off into the sky, the wings flapping and lifting them with ease.
Three monster families, all making their way to a small sideshow attraction, with the object of their desire unaware of what was coming for him.
(The next day)
"Hey Dipper! We need more fake blood!"
"More? Alright, I'll get some, but I think anymore and Mabel will start a blood slip n slide."
"I'm getting ready for my future vampire boyfriend!"
"If that's the case how do you know fake blood wouldn't kill them?"
"Don't be silly Dipper, it's like the non-fat stuff."
Dipper raised a finger, but lowered it and let out a sigh. "No Dipper, just let this one go." He sighed as he walked away. 'Ugh, I really hope something else happens today, I don't want this conversation to be the most stimulating thing to happen today.' He thought, staring at the empty store.
As he went to the supply closet, the door to the shack opened with the three girls walking inside.
"Alright, c'mon, where is he?" Chloe muttered, looking around eagerly.
"Easy there, don't go flying off the hook." joked Sabrina, making Chloe give her a blank look.
"You had to make a bird joke, didn't you?"
"You just make it so easy." She chuckled as their family members began to stream into the shop after them.
"Wow, this place sure is…cluttered." Remarked Sabrina's father remarked. "The shack has some amazing lumber though, so I suppose that's a plus…"
"Now dear, we can relax in the forest once Sabrina's satisfied, right?
"Sabrina, will you be alright on your own?"
"Relax dad, me and the girls won't cause any trouble." She grinned.
"Now Emma, you ready to show us that boy?"
"Uh, maybe later dad. He's…probably out to lunch." She remarked nervously, trying not to make eye contact with the others who shot her glances at her in confusion.
"This place isn't as cluttered as I was hoping." remarked Chloe's mom with her arms crossed.
"T-The valuable stuff is probably further in!" Chloe suggested quickly. "Why don't you go ahead and look for yourself?"
"I will, and if you're wrong we're leaving immediately young lady." she warned before walking around the shack, making her daughter gulp and turn to the other two.
"We need to find him, stat."
"Agreed." Another nodded as they began to look around, trying to find Dipper, who was just leaving the supply closet, a large 10 gallon bucket being pushed in front of him.
'Ugh, never again… ugh… tell Stan the value of buying in bulk!' he thought while grunting, trying not to trip up as he pushed it. As he grunted and pushed, he didn't realize that the store was no longer empty. Nor did he see Emma in his way until the bucket hit the back of her legs.
"Hey!" She cried, stumbling back a bit.
"Oh! Sorry." he spoke up, trying to peer over the bucket as his eyes met Emma's, making their eyes widen. "Huh? Wait, you?" He cried out, recognizing her face.
"Hi there." she smiled, giving a wave as he set the bucket down. "Remember me?"
"Y-Yeah, uh… sorry about what happened…." He said awkwardly.
"No, no, it's… wait, one sec. Girls, I found him!" she called, getting Sabrina and Chloe to race over, making Dipper's eyes widen more as he assumed the worst.
'Oh no, what are they doing here together? Are they so mad they wanna get back at me?' he gulped as the two smiled at him. "U-Uh, h-hey there, uh…fancy meeting all of you. Right here. Where I'm staying at…"
"Yeah, we came here to see you actually."
'They really do hold a grudge if they tracked me down!' He thought, paling as he took a step back nervously. 'Should I just run now?!'
"Yeah, we…. We were wrong." Sabrina spoke while looking down, making Dipper freeze up as he saw the other two nod their heads while looking ashamed.
"Uh…come again?"
"Well, we were talking and… in retrospect we may have… acted a bit rashly."
"We were completely in the wrong." Emma rubbed the back of her head. "When we got together and talked about it, we realized we jumped the gun."
"Yeah, and we're sorry about that, really, we are!"
Dipper stayed silent, staring at the girls as his brain tried to come up with a good response. Unfortunately, before he could process all that, they continued onwards.
"We were talking it over and we were hoping that you would be willing to take a chance with all of us?"
"...Huh?" he let out, his mind coming to a sudden stop. "What… but….huh?"
"I get this is a bit out of the ordinary, but we're serious!" Chloe said quickly. "We talked it over, and we think this is for the best!"
"I…uh…what?" he repeated, looking at them in complete shock.
"We know, it's something crazy and hard to swallow. But when we met and talked things over, we figured that it'd be easier than just trying to stab each other in the back. We were already dumb once, we don't wanna do that again." Sabrina said as the others nodded. "Besides, we talked while we traveled here, and we have a lot in common too!"
Dipper shook his head as his mind clicked. "Wait, you're serious, right? Like, you're not trying to test me and see if I say the wrong thing, right?"
"Nope, this is a 100% serious offer." Emma said as the other girls nodded in agreement.
'Ok Dipper, this is big, like, majorly big! Three cute girls saying they're perfectly ok with getting with you! You need to word this very carefully or you'll sound like a dork!' he thought before gulping and took a deep breathe. "Whowas."
The three looked confused while Dipper smacked his forehead.
"I-I mean, great! Great! T-That's great!"
"So you agree?" Emma asked with a smile before pausing. "Wait… we need to tell, or rather show you something first."
"But not here! Somewhere private." Chloe quickly butted in.
"What do you two- oh! Right, that, good call!" Sabrina nodded. "Uh, you got any closets we could go to?"
"Uh…. yeah, follow me. What is going on?" Dipper asked, feeling very confused.
"Trust us, you'll understand when you see." Emma promised. "We just can't show you in public, much less in front of our family."
Dipper still looked lost, but figuring he should take their words to heart, he turned and lead them to the supply closet he was just in, letting them enter before him as he closed the door behind him, all four inside. "Ok, so I'm not about to be an accessory to anything illegal, right?"
"Nope." Emma said before sighing. "Dipper, before this goes any further, we want to be honest with you, we're not normal."
"Uh…you sure?" he asked in confusion. "You sure seem 'normal' to me."
"Yeah… not quite." Chloe said as a pair of large black feathers popped out of her back.
Dipper's eyes widened in surprise, which only grew when he saw Sabrina's legs turn into wood, with his mouth dropping as soon as Emma's tail sprouted down with her skin changing color. "You three are…are…"
"Monsters, yeah. Or at least, growing into monsters."
"Now before you freak out, we-"
"Oh my gosh!" he let out, making them wince as he held the sides of his face. "This whole time? You three were like this?"
"Well…yeah."
"But we're harmless!"
"Don't call the cops!"
"I…wait, the cops? What would they do?" Dipper asked, shocked out of his confusion at the reveal. "The cops in Gravity Falls can't catch my Grunkle Stan when he literally rips them off, I doubt they'd do anything to you three."
"Uh, hello?" Chloe pointed to her flapping wings. "We just told you we're monsters. Aren't you gonna, you know, freak out?"
"Why?" He asked, looking at them in confusion. "I mean, it's surprising, but you aren't going to try and eat my brain, right?"
"No! Of course not!"
"You're not going to try and get me to marry you three or 100 identical girls like you?"
"Why is that something you have to ask?! No!"
"And you're DEFINITELY not gonna try and use my body to make some nest, right?"
"Why do you have so many morbid questions?!"
"I'm just proving my point, you're not exactly evil, crazy, or half as bad as the other magical things I've dealt with around here." he explained, now confusing the girls.
"Wait, what magical things?"
"Let's just say my summer has been crazy, and not in a good way. I mean I'm more surprised than scared, believe me. So I'm not gonna scream, freak out, or some stuff like that." He sighed, shaking his head. "If anything, this is the least crazy thing to happen to me this summer."
The girls looked at him in surprise, their true features shifting back into their bodies as Emma smiled.
"That's a relief. I was kinda scared you'd take off running. Which is good for me cause my tail tends to…fall off when I get nervous."
"Wait, really?" Dipper asked in surprise.
"Yeah… but that's not important, I'm glad this is working out!"
"Heck yeah." smiled Chloe, walking up to him. "So Dipper, you think you got what it takes to handle three girls~?"
"I-I hope so?" He said, gulping at the proposition.
"Well, we'll have to see, I hope you can handle all three of us~"
Dipper blushed seeing all three surround him, making him tug at his collar. "Uh, is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?"
"Oh, I dunno, it might just be you, but I know I'm feeling something alright~" giggled Sabrina, rubbing his arm with him gulping.
"U-Uh, so girls, how long will you be sticking around for? N-N-Not that I want you to go!" he quickly shook his head.
That actually made the girls pause as they realized they hadn't exactly thought this far ahead in their plan.
"Um…. maybe awhile? I'm not sure…"
"Yeah, kinda focused more on getting here…"
"I…my mom might drag me out of here in under an hour unless she's entertained by this place…"
"Oh…"
"W-We can still stay in contact though!" Chloe quickly chimed in. "You still have our emails, right?"
"No. Kinda washed them off after…you know." He admitted, rubbing the back of his head. "Plu sI kinda thought it would be weird to keep them, y'know?"
"Well here, you can have mine again!" Chloe said, pulling a marker out of her pocket.
"Mine too!"
"And mine!"
Soon Dipper's arms were full of emails, phone numbers, and Emma even threw in a mailing address as well.
"Thanks." Dipper smiled as the girls grinned. "So… how long are you three going to be here?"
"Well-"
"Chloe!"
"One sec." She said before turning. "What?!"
"I need your hands! There's so much more stuff than I expected for the nest!" Her mom cried, her arms full of random items she'd grabbed from the exhibits and from around the house.
"Can't this wait?!"
"Now young lady!"
"Ugh! Fine!" She groaned, stomping away in annoyance as her crow features receded back into her body. "I'll be back in a sec Dipper!"
"No prob." he turned to the other two girls with Emma opening her mouth to speak, before…
"Emma! Hey Emma, where are you?" came her dad's voice, making her groan. "Where's this Romeo fella you were looking for?"
"God…" she groaned, covering her face with her pigtails with Dipper chuckling.
"Never been called that before."
"He's exaggerating, but I'm going to distract him, I'd rather he didn't find you." her skin went back to human color as she headed out, leaving behind Sabrina.
"So, it's just the two of us…" She smiled, her face heating up a bit.
"Heh, yeah…" he smiled, blushing himself.
"Sabrina? Where are you, it's time to go!" Called a man's voice, making her pale. "This hut is interesting, but we need to get into the woods!"
"Oh come on!" she threw her hands up before groaning and rubbed her hands together. "Sorry Dipper, I have to go."
"Really? Well, it was great to see you, and we can talk later, right?" DIpper asked, surprised how fast his time with the girls were coming to a close.
"Big time." she turned to leave, but stopped. Quickly looking at him, she walked over and pecked him on the cheek, giving a smile before leaving the closet and the surprised boy alone.
'Did…did that really happen?'
(Timeskip)
"So, yeah, according to Grunkle Stan your mom is banned from the shack forever, sorry." Dipper spoke on his new phone, something Stan coughed up the cash for when he learned about Dipper's run-in and was more than happy to lend a hand, mostly to have something to tease him over, with Dipper making him promise to try and keep it down and not let Mabel find out.
"Ugh, really? Again, I'm sorry about her, and if it makes you feel better, I did convince her to not take the pig with us." Chloe apologized as the other two callers laughed. "I'll make sure to tell her though, but just a warning, banning her from a place is a guarantee that she'll go again."
"Maybe he should do the same to my folks, they've been REALLY wanting to meet you." spoke up Emma with a groan. "They keep asking so many embarrassing questions about you, even asking if you were thinking about marriage in the future!"
"Yeah, I didn't know if he wanted me to say yes or no! We're just kids!" Dipper groaned.
"At least your parents didn't try to start a fight with a lumberjack, dad nearly got arrested!" Sabrina groaned.
"Wendy did say that her dad got beat up by a tree, I thought she was kidding at first."
"Yeah, my mom can get REALLY riled up." She chuckled as Dipper smiled, too preoccupied with the call to notice Mabel entering the bedroom.
"Well look on the bright side, Stan never said anything about any of you getting banned, so you're free to come back if you want."
"That sounds like a plan, I'll try to come down the first chance I get!"
"Sounds like a plan, see you then Emma!"
"Hey, what about us?" came Chloe's voice with a pout. "Don't you want us to visit?"
"O-Of course I do! But can you really get away from your mom? Last we talked you said she wasn't letting you leave the nest, right?"
"Ugh, yeah, she takes empty nest syndrome to a whole new level." she huffed. "But that's never stopped me before."
"Hey Dipper, who are you talking to?"
"WAH!" he cried, jumping and turning to Mabel while nearly dropping his phone. "N-N-No one!"
"Huh? But then who were you talking to? Tell me Dipper, tell me!" she urged while trying to grab the phone as he held her back.
"It's nobody you need to worry about!"
"Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She cried out, trying to grab at the phone.
"Dipper, what's going on?" came Emma's voice.
"See, that was someone's voice! Tell me who that is Dipper!"
"No Mabe- ow! Did you just bite me?!" he cried as she managed to pin him and wrestle the phone away.
"Ha! I win!" She declared before holding the phone up to her ear. "Hello, who is this? I'm Mabel, Dipper's sister!"
The girls on the end were a bit confused before Sabrina spoke up. "Hey, I'm Sabrina."
"Hi Sabrina, mind telling me who you are and why Dipper refused to tell me?" Mabel asked as Dipper struggled to get the phone back.
"Wait, where is he?" asked Emma. "And what was that about biting?"
"The bitings not important, who are you two?"
"There's three of us actually."
Mabel blinked slowly and turned to Dipper who looked away. "Dipper? Why are you talking to THREE girls? At the same time!?"
"They're…. They're my girlfriends Mabel." He groaned, knowing the jig was up.
Her eyes widened, mouth going slack, dropping the phone while staring at him in disbelief. "Wha… but… you… how?!"
"I'm… not 100% sure myself to be honest." he admitted while his sister looked like her brain was short circuiting.
"But….but… I've had no luck with my summer romances…not fair…" she let out, swaying a little while Dipper picked up the phone.
"Girls? Still there?"
"Yeah, so that was Mabel?" Emma asked in confusion. "Is she ok?"
"Yeah, her world view might be shattered for a bit though." Dipper sighed. "She wanted to find a boyfriend this summer, but she's had one bad experience after another, so I've been keeping the news about us from her to prevent her freaking out."
"Dang." winced Sabrina on her end. "Wait, how bad we talking?"
"She's staring at the sky and muttering about how unfair life is."
"Yeouch, that's pretty bad." remarked Chloe as Dipper walked out of the room slowly. "So Dipper, I was gonna ask you something."
"Shoot."
"Out of the three of us, which one's your favorite~?"
"W-What?!" He stuttered, his face heating up. 'How can I answer that?!'
"Yeah, which one do you like more~?" Emma joined in.
"Yeah, is there a favorite girl?" Sabrina joined in, giggling on her end.
"Y-You know I can't pick." he replied with a blush.
"C'mon, tell us!" Groaned Emma. "The 'I like you all equally' won't work forever!"
"Well it works for now!" he refuted while keeping his voice low. "Putting me on the spot like that is…awkward."
"Hehehe, you're lucky you're so honest and cute, you know eventually we'll get a real answer out of you~" Chloe chuckled.
"And you know that's a promise." Emma chimed in.
"I guess, but that day won't come for a long time." Dipper protested as the other three just giggled.
