Lee woke up with a jolt. His breathing was rapid and eyes looking at the ceiling of a car roof. Or at least what should've been a car roof. Instead he found himself looking a semi-transparent grey square that read:

Lee scrunched his face trying to understand what was going on. Before he could put any thought into anything though, his leg started burning like a fire. When he looked at his leg, the square stay in his line of it. What the fuck Lee looked at it again to see if he could make it disappear. Looks like the games my brother made me play when we were kids One of the corners had a X on it. After pressing the X the square quickly became smaller until it popped out of existence Strange, maybe I'm dreaming
Finally he was able to view his surroundings; the car flipped on its side, his leg had a deep cut, and the officer seems to have been launched out the car along with his shotgun. Right I was being transported to prison after I was declared guilty for… but this guy jumped in front of the car and we crashed Lee looked back to the officer, " Hey Officer, are you alright?", there was no answer. I better get out of here
His hands were still cuffs but he was still could reach the door handle. He tried opening it but Of course its locked Lee looked at the window and saw that it was heavily cracked. He angled himself and started kicking the window with his good leg. After a couple of tries the window was gone.
Carefully he crawled out the opening and flopped to the ground. Seems like we ended up in the woods, Lee started wondering what happened to the guy they hit but stopped himself, I need to free my hands before I can really do anything, He started walking to the officer using the car as a crutch. "Fuck" Lee said with anguish, the Officer had a pool of blood around his head and he didn't seem to be breathing. Death seems to follow me now, He didn't even want to think about the guy they hit now.
Still he needed to get himself free if he wanted to tend to his leg and get help. Slowly he approached the officer and grabbed the keys from his belt. It wasn't until he heard the keys jingle that he realized how badly he was shaking. Now that he stopped and thought about it his whole body was sore, his head was aching, and he was extremely thirsty and tired. Damn that crash must've done a bigger number than I thought, He was still able to unlock his cuffs, even if he missed the hole a couple times.
He started rubbing his wrist enjoying being free of metal bindings. Grey light suddenly caught his eye and he saw text hover over the Officer's heads that read: Walker lvl 1. Before he could even start wondering what that meant he heard the Officer start to grumble and stir. Lee eyes widen and hope festered in him, "Officer, Can you hear me?"
Lee was about to crouch down when his its head snapped up to look at Lee. Terror etched into Lee's face when he saw what couldn't be human glare at him with malice and hunger. Lee wasn't prepared when the thing jumped at him, "SHIT", was all Lee could yelp as he stumbled to the ground trying to stay away from the monster. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU?!", Lee yelled as the monster hastily crawled to get him. Lee continued crawling backwards as he looked at the horror in front of him.
The once Officer no longer looked human but was a sickly grey with purple veins spread across its face, his eyes were a murky white and teeth a disgusting yellow. There were no signs of intelligence or humanity, only malice and hunger. "STAY AWAY FROM ME", Lee tried to pick himself up but his leg was too weak. Fuck, Lee started to panic when he felt the car against his back but he realized his hand touched something wooden. Looking to left he found the officer's shotgun. Quickly he grabbed the gun and aimed it at the monster's head. "I SAID STAY AWAY", Lee pulled the trigger Click
Lee's eyes widen in shock when he heard that deathly sound. The monster again launched itself and Lee smashed the shotgun into its face. The creature flopped to his right but tried to get up again. Lee used the car to pull himself up and started smashing the monster's head open with the shotgun. He didn't stop until brain tissue showed. His breathing calmed and his shoulder slumped. I killed again, at least this thing wasn't human. At least I hope not. Doubt and dread began to creep up on Lee but before he could dwell on it another semi-transparent square popped up before him.

Seeing this Lee just sighed, Maybe this really is a dream… but I've never felt pain in a dream and this feels way too real to be a dream Lee suddenly got goosebumps and the feeling that others had noticed his presence. That they were now searching for him. He quickly crouched down and after closing the grey square soon heard groaning. When he looked toward the noise he saw more monsters, each with the label Walker lvl above their head. The levels varied but none went over 3. They hadn't notice where he was yet and he wasn't about to let them find out. They seemed to be coming from the freeway's direction. That can't mean anything good Before Lee left, he grabbed the pistol from the walker's corpse and started limping toward the fence he saw, opposite of where the walkers were coming from.
