Once Bitten Twice Shy
On the bridge of the Bounty, the ninjas, and Nya were having a learning session about the biology and abilities of the Serpentine. They needed to know all they could about their enemies if they were going to battle them for the Fang Blades.
Melissa was standing beside Nya and helping her with the lesson, and then Nya pulled off a cloth on the table revealing the skeleton of a Fangpyre from the Serpentine Wars.
"Some villagers unearthed the remains of this Fangpyre a few miles away," Nya told them. "It predates the Golden Age and must be hundreds of years old."
Kai was leaning back in his chair, Zane and his falcon were paying attention to her, Cole was busy drawing himself, and Jay did his hair up and looked at her with bedroom eyes and a goofy smile.
"Although the venom in the Fangpyre's fangs can mutate anything into a Serpentine, Nya found out something interesting," Melissa spoke up as Nya scanned the fangs of the skeleton. "Which is another way to cure anyone if they get bitten by a Fangpyre and stop the effects without getting the staff to create an anti-venom, right, Nya?"
"You are correct my, little assistant," Nya said as she started blushing and Melissa noticed. "If one can wildly raise their heart rate, hypothetically, it could reverse the venom's effects resulting in... diminished uh..." Nya paused as she looked a little tipsy and covered her nose.
"Uhh, Nya, are you OK?" Melissa asked.
"Uhh, guys, are one of you wearing perfume?" Nya asked, looking to the boys. "I'm allergic to perfume, severely allergic to perfume to be precise."
Melissa went over to Nya to help keep her stable as she smelled the scent of perfume, and it was coming from Jay.
"Jay, why are you wearing perfume?" Melissa asked.
Jay gave a nervous chuckle realizing he was caught. "Heh, you told me it was men's cologne." He whispered to Kai nervously.
"Eh, I get them mixed up," Kai joked and the others laughed, including Zane, and then Zane opened his front panel and turned off his humor switch.
"Are you seriously laughing about this?" Melissa asked in a stern and concerned tone. "You guys just made Nya's allergies act up."
"Don't worry, kid, it's nothing serious," Kai assured her. "It wears off after a while if she doesn't keep sniffing the stuff."
"OK, that's assuring, but still, messing with people's allergies isn't funny, it's dangerous," Melissa told them. "Like, one time in Darkley's, some kids thought it would be funny to put tomatoes in my sandwich, and I nearly went to the hospital because of it."
"Wait, you're allergic to tomatoes?" Cole asked.
"Yes, I can't have any, my throat will swell up," Melissa said with a serious tone. "So, as you can see, messing with people's allergies is dangerous, like, what if Nya's allergies got worse than what she's dealing with right now?"
Kai, Cole, and Zane realized that Melissa was right and that Nya's allergies could get worse, and that made them feel a bit guilty.
"Yeah, maybe this wasn't such a good idea," Kai said while rubbing the back of his head nervously, "Sorry, sis."
Nya sighed and facepalmed herself in disbelief before gesturing them to leave as the boys, minus Jay, then closed their books and stood.
"Ah, looks like class is over," Cole spoke up, "Time to start stomping some Serpentine before they find any Fang Blades."
"Sounds like a plan," Kai said.
"I'm excited to join," Zane said before he turned to Melissa, "And it's also time to begin your training, Melissa."
"Oh, finally, I can't wait to get started," Melissa said in excitement before turning to Nya. "Uhh, are you gonna be OK, Nya?"
"Don't worry about me, Melissa, it will flush out of my system soon," Nya assured before turning away and clenching her fists, "And hopefully, soon enough, for me to kill Kai."
"OK, then, hopefully you'll get better soon," Melissa said before heading to the exit, and she saw that Jay was still there and went up to him. "If you wanna apologize or talk to Nya, please do it quickly before that perfume puts her into a coma." She said before she left the bridge.
Jay stayed behind and looked at Nya when the others were gone. He built up the courage and walked over to her, going with Melissa's advice.
"Uh, hey, Nya, I'm sorry," Jay spoke up nervously. "The reason I was... You know... I went to Kai because... Look, what I'm trying to say is..."
"I know, it's just a cruel joke," Nya said. "I should be fine. Please, go fight snakes."
"No, no, no, I was trying to impress you," Jay explained. "Before Sensei left, he said our hearts were the key to unlocking our true potential."
"Impress me?" Nya asked while blushing, "But I look so..."
"Fantastic," Jay told her and made her blush more and play with her hair. "Look, maybe if you'll let me, I can take you to some big fancy restaurant. Uhh, you don't have to if you don't want to..."
"You mean like a date?" Nya asked.
"Um, yeah?" Jay answered sheepishly.
"Sure! I'd love to," Nya told him, "But I need to go now before the perfume toxins enter my bloodstream, and I go into shock." She said walking out of the room but stopped and turned to him. "See you tonight." She then left and Jay celebrated.
"Yes! Ha ha!" Jay shouted as he danced around until he pricked his hand on the skeletons' fang.
"Ouch! Aah! Man," he shook his hand and thought it was no harm before he left the room.
But, as he danced his way out of the room he failed to notice a small drop of the venom fall from the fang that pricked him. A small fly went down and drank the venom before it turned it into a snake-fly hybrid.
Meanwhile, in the realm where Sensei Wu had gone, Lord Garmadon had his back to him.
"Hello, brother, what took you so long?" Garmadon asked as he noticed the sword Wu held. "You brought the katana from our youth. Funny, you never had the courage to cross the temple wall, yet now, you have the courage to come here?" He asked, still holding some resentment of that fateful day.
"Why have you come to this place of darkness?" Wu questioned.
"A place as wicked as me?" Garmadon asked him. "Don't you see? Here, I feel at home. Back in Ninjago, I was physically unable to hold all four of father's Golden Weapons, but here, dark magic has made me stronger." He said while clenching one hand and flexing his other arm.
"And, I managed to make what was once impossible now possible," Garmadon declared as he turn to Wu and showed that he had four arms, and Wu gasped in shock at his brother's form.
"You came here only to possess the Weapons of Spinjitzu?!" He asked.
"Yes, brother, and I refuse to allow you or your petty ninja to stop me," Garmadon told him as he conjured up his magic, and he held out his four arms and four weapons appeared in them.
Garmadon then charged at his brother before they charged at him, Wu slid on the ground as Garmadon swung two of the weapons at him. Garmadon was getting frustrated as he locked all four Weapons with Wu's before he pushed him down the hill.
The two brothers roll down the hill until they landed in some mud. Garmadon jumped down as they jumped up from the mud, Sensei Wu then did Spinjitzu and flung some mud at Garmadon. As Wu continued to spin, Garmadon summoned three mud monsters that approached Sensei Wu. As Garmadon grinned, Sensei Wu did Spinjitzu at one of them, but it wasn't enough to keep them down.
"Brother, I did not come here to..." Wu tried to explain before one of the mud monsters knocked him to the ground.
"You will pay for your visit," Garmadon told them. "Mud monsters, converge!"
All three mud monsters then approached Sensei Wu before they merged together with him inside.
"You don't belong here, old fool! You should've known better than to try to stop me," Garmadon told him as Wu struggled to get free.
"I didn't come to stop you!" Wu shouted as he was slowly submerged in the mud. "I came to warn you, to tell you..."
Wu was summerged for a moment while Garmadon was confused to what his brother was trying to say before Wu's head popped out of the mud.
"Your son is in danger-Aah!" Wu told him before the mud covered him again, and his hand reached out of it.
"Lloyd?" Garmadon asked in a worried tone before he ran over to the mud monsters and pulled Wu out as the younger brother coughed from the lack of oxygen, before he looked at Garmadon. "What has Lloyd gotten himself into?"
"He and his friend have opened a can of worms I fear I will never be able to close," Wu told him.
"You mean, we will never be able to close. Get up, you can tell me more later," Garmadon said as he helped his brother stand. "First, we need to return home. How did you find me?"
"Traveler's Tea," Wu answered, "But I used it all and now, we have no way back."
"There is only one way to return to Ninjago," Garmadon told them, "But to get there, we must pass through the Mountain of Madness, and it is a long, dangerous road ahead."
"We wouldn't have it any other way," Wu said.
"We should leave, before it really gets dark," Garmadon told them before the two sons of the first Spinjitzu Master set out to the Mountain of Madness.
Back in Ninjago, the ground trembled under where the Serpentine burst from the ground via Constrictai and then Pythor, Rattalia, Skales, Selma, and a few other Serpentine emerged from the ground. Skales then took out the map and looked it over.
"Thisss is it, Pythor," Skales told him as he looked at the map. "The map leadsss up here, the firssst Fang Blade." He said as he pointed to Mega Monster Amusement Park.
"Uhh, why would the Fang Blade be under an Amusssement Park?" Rattalia wondered.
"Hm, I imagine that the Fang Blade wasss buried before the park wasss built," Selma theorized before turning to Pythor. "Maybe, it'sss besst to wait until dark, ssso we don't attract any unwanted attention from the ninja or sssamurai."
"She hassss a point, perhapssss we should wait," Skales agreed.
"Oh, relax, I have a feeling we'll fit right in," Pythor assured before they marched right over to the theme park.
Inside, people of all ages were having fun, especially with the monster theme, as some of the workers were in monster costumes. The Serpentine slithered their way in and no one seemed bothered as they assumed they were just costumes until a couple and a boy ran up to Pythor and Rattalia.
"Excuse me, sir, would you mind if my family takes a picture with you?" The man asked Pythor.
"Your costume is so authentic," the woman complimented.
Pythor and Rattalia looked at each other before the latter shrugged and the former smiled to the family.
"Of course, welcome to... to uh..." Pythor said, realizing he didn't know the name of the park until he saw the sign, "Mega Monster Amusement Park!"
"We hope you have a pleasssant time here," Rattalia added as the family gathered around Pythor as she held the camera. "Say cheesssssse!" She told told them.
"Cheese!" All five of them said as Rattalia took the picture, and the flash from the camera made Pythor irritated as he glared at his niece.
"Oopsss! sssorry, didn't know the flash wasss on," Rattalia apologized while giving a nervous chuckle.
Back on the Destiny's Bounty, Jay was in the room getting ready for his date as he was looking in the mirror wearing a tuxedo.
"Did I ever tell you, that I was the first one to learn Spinjitzu?" Jay told his reflection as he was practicing what to say in a suave way. "No, I mean, uh, I invented Spinjitzu, yeah, that's it." He said before realizing that would be a lie. "Ugh, no, Nya knows that the First Spinjitzu Master created Spinjitzu. Uhh, oh, I invented a few other moves like the karate double chop- Hyah, hyah!"
After doing a couple of air chops, Jay noticed his hand was turning green with some snake scales.
"No, no, no, no, the prick from the Fangpyre fang! Oh-no! This isn't happening. No, it's nothing," Jay told himself. "It's just a rash, it'll probably just go away. You're gonna do great, Jay, this is your chance to shine, heh, heh."
At the bridge where the others were, Zane and Kai were looking at the monitors trying to locate the Serpentine and the Fang Blades while Cole was training Melissa by showing her how to punch and kick by using a punching bag. Just then, Jay slid in wearing gloves and a scarf. He then walked with some swagger with a smug smile on his face.
"Whoa! Where are you going, Mr. Fancy?" Cole asked when Jay walked by him.
"Didn't you hear?" Jay asked him. "I'm taking Nya to a nice restaurant, a really nice restaurant."
"You might wanna change your plans," Kai told Jay. "The bridge just picked up evidence of Serpentine activity over at Mega Monster Amusement Park." He said as the monitor showed them an image of Pythor and the Serpentine there.
"Hey, that's Pythor," Jay pointed.
"Pythor would not be there for fun," Zane spoke up, "We believe a Fang Blade may be buried underneath the park."
"We can't let them get it," Jay declared before he remembered his date with Nya, "Oh, man, but my date."
"Jay, if they get all four of them, Pythor can unleash the Great Devourer," Kai reminded him. "Get your priorities straight, man."
Jay had a sad look as he knew he was right, and Melissa felt sorry for him before she had a thought in her head before she smiled.
"Why not just take Nya to the restaurant that's in Mega Monster Amusement Park?" She spoke up which got Jay's attention. "There's a restaurant in the Amusement Park that me and Lloyd saw the last time we were there. You can take Nya and if the others need you, then they can call you."
"Hey, yeah, that's a great idea," Jay said with a smile. "Thanks, Melissa."
"No problem, also, what's with the gloves? It's pretty hot today," Melissa asked as she noticed the gloves which caused Jay to flinch and he quickly held his right hand.
"Uh, um, actually, my hands were pretty chilly today, so, uh, don't worry, I'll be fine," Jay laughed nervously, but the others didn't look convinced.
"Jay, what are you hiding?" Cole asked.
"Nothing, I'm serious, just a little nervous on my first date with Nya," Jay said nervously before he gave a slight glare at them. "Stop looking at me!"
"Then, tell us the truth because this isn't first date jitters," Kai said before grabbing Jay's right hand, "And what's wrong with your hand?" He asked as he started removing the glove.
"I'm telling ya I'm…" Jay tried to say before the others gasped at when they saw-Jay's green scaly hand. "Fine!" He finished while looking nervous.
"Fangpyre? Jay were you bitten?" Cole asked.
"Well, just a prick from that skeleton Nya showed us earlier, guess there was still some venom in it," Jay explained before looking at them reassuringly, "B-but don't worry, it wasn't a full-on bite. I should be fine."
"I'm afraid you are forgetting the mutation is slow, but steady, Jay. Before long, your transformation into a serpent will be complete," Zane warned.
"Well, yeah, but that would be awhile. By then, our date will be over," Jay assured the nindroid. "Remember, from what I can tell, my parents told me they were bitten the night before we arrived at the junkyard, meaning, that I have time to enjoy the date while you guys to get the Fang Blade while, hopefully, getting the anti-venom for me."
Kai hummed before sighing. "Alright, but as soon as your date's over, you're coming back so we can cure you."
"Let's hope we can get the Fangpyre anti-venom and the Fang Blade by then," Cole jumped in while looking to Jay, "Because if not, then you're on your way to snake town buddy."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Jay assured as he walked out of the bridge to Nya's room while the others watched in concern.
"Alright, boys, let's stop the Serpentine from getting that Fang Blade and get the anti-venom for Jay," Kai said as Cole and Zane nodded with determination, and they rushed out of the bridge.
"Hey, wait a minute, what about me?" Melissa called out which caused the three ninjas to stop in their tracks and look at her. "I mean with Jay and Nya going on a date, and you guys going after the Serpentine, I'll be left all alone here, so what am I supposed to do?"
Kai, Cole, and Zane looked at each other and realized that Melissa was right. With everyone busy either on a date or stopping the Serpentine, she'll be left alone on the Bounty, and she's still a little kid and can't be left alone and even though they don't wanna bring her with them because it'll be too dangerous, they had no choice.
"Alright, kid, you can come with us," Kai said which made Melissa smile, "But you're gonna either ride some rides or play some games while we deal with the Serpentine, and stay out of trouble, got it?"
"I know what to do, Kai," Melissa said while rolling her eyes. "Now, come on, time's a wasting. I call riding with Cole!"
Melissa then rushed out of the bridge and Kai, Cole, and Zane hoped that they weren't gonna regret this before leaving the bridge as well.
Meanwhile, Nya in her Samurai armor flew back to the Bounty on her jetpack and to her room. Once inside, she removed the jetpack and heard a knock on the door.
"Uh, Nya, you there?" She heard Jay's voice from the other side of the door. Just when he was about to open it, she quickly closed it on him as to not let him see her as the samurai, "Argh!"
"Don't come in!" Nya shouted. "I'm getting ready."
"Well, um..." Jay said behind the door as Nya struggled to take off her armor. "I wanna talk to you about our date."
Nya removed her helmet and she then got the weapons that were scattered around her room and ducked them in a wardrobe. Her bracelet then beeped on her mirror stand.
"I'm hearing really bad reviews for the restaurant and I just..." Jay said through the door as Nya's bracelet then showed a hologram map of Ninjago and the location of Serpentine activity.
"Serpentine spotted at Mega Monster Amusement Park?" Nya whispered.
"I think we should cancel," Jay said before she opened the door.
"Oh, you're canceling?" Nya asked.
"No, no, I just wanted to know if you would rather go to the Mega Monster Amusement Park instead?" Jay asked.
"Really? That would be perfect!" Nya told him, "But aren't you overdressed?" She asked before she saw her samurai helmet next to her and panicked a little.
"Well, yeah," Jay started as Nya glanced at her helmet. "Of course, I need to change..." Nya kicked her helmet into her wardrobe and it made a sound. "What was that?"
"Nothing!" Nya shouted in a nervous tone. "You know what, I'll dress up too, looks fun!" She said as she walked behind some blinds and started to dress.
"Hey, I was thinking, you know, we'd take my Storm Glider there," Jay told her.
"Sounds like fun," Nya said as her casual dress fell over the screen before she came out wearing a sequin dress that left her back exposed. Jay's jaw dropped when he saw her wearing such a beautiful red dress. "I'm in your hands."
Nya picked up her handbag before going over to a wardrobe and folded her helmet so she can put it in her bag before the two made their way to their date.
Meanwhile, in the dark realm, Sensei Wu and Garmadon continued their way to the Mountain of Madness.
"So, what kind of trouble has Lloyd gotten himself into?" Garmadon asked his brother.
"Well, I'm afraid to say the worst kind," Wu told him. "He's reopened the Serpentine tombs and now that they have united, Pythor is trying to find the four silver Fang Blades to unleash the Great Devourer."
"The very snake that turned me evil?" Garmadon asked, still hating the very snake that ruined his life.
"I'm afraid so," Wu answered.
"Why would Lloyd open the tombs?" Garmadon asked in shock.
"To be like you," Wu told him, placing a hand on his brother's shoulder.
"I never wanted him to," Garmadon said while shaking his head.
"But, Lloyd is doing well, and he actually made a friend," Wu told his brother.
"Oh, did he now?" Garmadon said with interest.
"Yes, her name is Melissa Zhau," Wu informed him, "And she's a nice kid, although, she was a brat and helped Lloyd release the Serpentine, but other than that, she's a good kid."
Garmadon sighed in relief. "Well, at least Lloyd has a good friend to be by his side." He said before turning to Wu. "Thank you for watching out for Lloyd."
Wu nodded and hummed. "You may think of me as an enemy, but I was first your brother." He told Garmadon as they continued onwards.
Back in Mega Monster Amusement Park, Jay and Nya were at its restaurant for their date.
"Yeah, even when I was young, it was clear I was born and bred for adventure," Jay told Nya as they had some monster-sized sandwiches. "I was the first to get my knot badge in 'Lil Scouts. I was always trying daring foods." As Nya nodded her head, her bracelet kept on beeping. "I built these wings from scrap metal and other..." He stopped when he noticed she wasn't paying attention. "Uh, you OK? Uh, you seem kind of distant." He asked, moving his sandwich to the side.
"Oh, yeah," Nya said quickly turning back to Jay, pushing her own sandwich aside. "It's just the portions are so big and, to think, we split our dish."
"So, that samurai, oh, man, I hate him, don't you? I mean, he's such a showboat, you know?" Jay said as Nya half-frowned as he's insulting her, but he doesn't even know it and she did that to herself since she made Jay and the boys jealous for stealing their thunder. "If you ask me, he's nothing without his big clunky exo suit."
"Oh," Nya said with a frown.
"Yeah, nothing can compare to good old-fashioned feet and fists, don't you think?" Jay asked, doing some jabs.
"Yeah sure," Nya agreed, actually preferring to the do things the old fashion way.
"You know, sssomeone once told me..." Jay stop when he realized he hissed like a snake. He then took a spoon and looked at the small reflection of himself to see he had snake fangs and a snake tongue.
"You OK?" Nya asked.
"Excussse me, I have to use the ressstroom!" Jay told her before he raced to the room and closed the door.
Jay then went to the sink and splashed water on his face to cool off, but when he was done, he removed the glove on his hand that was covered in more scales and becoming more green.
"Oh, gosssh! It'sss jussst like Zane sssaid, I'm turning into a sssnake!" Jay exclaimed.
Jay had to hide, and so, he ran into one of the bathroom stalls and while he was hiding, he heard a knock on the door.
"I'm busssy, dude, can't you sssee it'ssss taken?" Jay told the man on the other side. "I can't go out there looking like thisss." He removed the other glove showing his other hand covered in scales as well. "Thissss isss the worsssst date ever. I ssshould've listened to the others, but why isss it ssspeeding up sssince it took a whole day for my parentsss to mutate!?"
Nya was still at their booth waiting for him to come out and wondered what was taking him so long.
Meanwhile, on a ride called Ghost Train, some people were riding on it and were not even afraid of it because of the fake monsters and decor.
"Ha! Lame! This ride is stupid," a man said before the carts passed by Pythor and the Serpentine digging.
"Heh, look how stupid these guys look," he pointed at some Venomari before they spit their venom into the passengers' eyes.
With the hallucinatory venom in their eyes, they now became frightened of the ride. As it went along, the venom distorted the decorations to appear much more terrifying.
"Get me off this thing!" The man cried out in fear, "Mommy!"
Meanwhile, outside, the ninjas and Melissa had arrived.
"Where is everybody?" Kai asked before they heard screams and saw people running away from the Ghost Train ride.
"Wait a minute, that ride was never scary," Cole said.
"Yeah, that's the lamest ride ever," Melissa said while rolling her eyes as she remembered when she and Lloyd rode it, "But why is everyone freaking out over this dumb ride?"
"Venomari," Zane said.
"Should we get Jay?" Kai asked.
"Let's not bother the two love birds," Cole told him. "I think we can handle this, besides, like Jay said, it might take some time before his mutation is complete and we might as well get the anti-venom for him."
"Yeah, good call," Kai nodded in agreement but then he looked at Melissa. "Go play some games or ride some rides. We'll pick you up after we're done."
"Alright, good luck, guys," Melissa said before running off to either play some games or ride some rides as the ninjas made their way into the ride.
"Excuse us, we're coming through," Kai said to the people running past them as they made their way inside.
"Nothing to look at folks!" Cole told them.
"This is official ninja business," Zane stated.
"We have it under control," Kai added.
"Please, go about your day," Cole concluded.
Meanwhile, back to the restaurant, Nya continued to wait for Jay and her bracelet continued to beep. She sighed, knowing that she had to go.
"Sorry, Jay, duty calls," Nya said before she picked up her saddle bag and ran out of the restaurant.
"Ah, you don't look ssso bad," Jay told himself in the mirror as his face started to grow snake scales. "Jussst go out there and tell her the truth." He then heard a rip coming from his pants and saw that he was growing a snake tail.
"AHH! I have a tail! No, no, it'sss okay, Jay, lotsss of girlsss like tailsss," he then walked out of the restroom and back to the booth only to find Nya gone. "Ssshe left? Nya?"
"Snake!" Someone shouted when they saw Jay. The people in the restaurant came towards him like he was an enemy and started beating him with bread, spoons, or forks.
"No! Ssstop!" Jay pleaded as they continued to beat on him. "You don't underssstand!" He tried to say as the hit just kept coming.
Meanwhile, outside, Nya ducked behind some stands as she quickly undressed herself and got into her samurai armor. She then pressed a button on her bracelet again to call in her samurai mech. Once it landed, she hopped in and was ready to fight as the mech ran to where the Serpentine were.
Speaking of which, Skales continued to dig a large hole until he hit something. Pythor looked and used his tail to move some dirt over and saw a dagger that looked like a snake fang made of silver. It was the first Fang Blade.
"Ha, ha, ha! The first Fang Blade is ours!" Pythor declared as he picked up the item.
At that moment, Kai held up his sword and it was set aflame to light up the room. All the Serpentine that were there saw the ninjas had arrived as the three of them ready their weapons.
"Not so fast!" Kai shouted at them.
"Really? That's the best you got?" Cole asked Kai.
"I couldn't think of anything on the fly," Kai explained.
"How about, 'Time to burn' or 'Jump on this fire ride'?" Cole asked.
"Well, next time you can lead," Kai told them.
"Next time we will," Cole said.
"Oh, yeah If you can catch up," Kai said.
The Serpentine in front of them growled as they ready their weapons. The two sides faced off as another cart for the ponies came by and saw them. As the ninjas charged at the serpentine, Zane threw his shurikens as the others raised their weapons. Cole smacked one in the face with his scythe while Kai blocked an attack from another.
"Ninjas? Ninjas aren't scary," a man said as they went by them.
"Watch and learn, my brothers," Zane told them as he closed his eyes and focused. When he opened them, they were glowing as he used his elemental power. The Serpentine backed away in worry.
"Oh, thisss isss gonna hurt," Skales feared before Zane released a burst of elemental energy and they covered their eyes, knowing they were gonna be frozen solid.
Rattalia peeked one eye open and realized she was fine. She looked around in wonder as the other Serpentine uncovered their eyes, and then saw that Zane accidentally froze himself and his friends.
"Oops," Zane said within the ice.
"Zane, did you even practice your powers after you unlocked them?" Cole grunted through the ice. The Serpentine, minus Rattalia, then started laughing at the ninja.
"Ha-ha! Look Ninja-Ciclesss!" A Venomari joked as they all laughed more.
"Well, let usss leave while our friendsss here are on ice!" Pythor quipped as they all laughed again and ran out of the Ghost Train while the ninjas were still frozen.
Meanwhile, Melissa was walking through the amusement park and eating some cotton candy, but then she saw Pythor and the Serpentine coming out of the Ghost Train ride, and so, on instinct, she hid behind one of the booths.
"Oh-no! Pythor got the Fang Blade," Melissa whispered in shock as she saw the blade in the Anacondrai's hand. "Oh, man, where are the ninjas?"
Just then, a magnet yanked the blade out of Pythor's hand and into the samurai mech's claw much to Melissa, and secretly, Rattalia's relief.
"Stop him!" Pythor ordered as the samurai tried to take off, but the thrusters were only puffing out smoke.
"Oh-no! Thruster malfunction," Nya said cursing herself for not checking her mech. After fixing the damage, she made a run for it with the blade, and the Serpentine chased after her.
The samurai went over a roller coaster rail and the Serpentine jumped over it as well. A Constrictai got hit by the roller coaster carts, and the people on it screamed in surprise as he screamed as well before he was punted off it.
The samurai then climbed up the roller coaster as the Serpentine continued to chase it. Once on top, the mech slid down the rails and was getting distance from the Serpentine. She did a few tricks as she went around, and the Serpentine watched before it jumped off and grabbed hold of a Ferris wheel.
Once the Ferris wheel spun around, the samurai dropped to the ground but got surrounded by Serpentine. She ran towards a ride that was spinning in circles and jumped on it while they chased her. Once she was far enough, she continued to run away from them with the blade as a Hypnobrai stopped for cotton candy.
But just when it looked like the samurai was in the clear, some Constrictai Serpentine popped out of the ground in front of her and charged, jumping on her mech and started beating on it
"Oh, no, no, no, not again!" Nya begged as her systems failed and the mech fell to the ground.
Melissa gasped in shock seeing this. The Serpentine then opened up the center and Pythor went up to the samurai mech with Nya inside it.
"Finally, the mystery man is revealed," Pythor said as he removed the helmet and revealed that it was not a man but saw Nya instead, "Or should I have said mystery girl? Who's going to save you now, hmm?"
Melissa didn't know what to do, because the ninjas were nowhere to be found to stop the Serpentine and save Nya, and the only person close by to help was herself, so she sucked up her nerves and made her way from behind the booths.
"Hey, let Nya go, now!" Melissa demanded, but then her bravery vanished when the Serpentine turned their attention to her, "Uhh, please?"
"Well, look who'ssss come to join the party?" Pythor said before turning to his men. "Boysss, let'sss give these young ladiesss a ride of their lives, ssshall we?" He suggested with a smirk.
The Serpentine moved closer to Melissa as she gulped. She tried to run but was surrounded by the snakes, and Rattalia was seeing this and was very concerned about what her uncle was going to do to her and the samurai, and she was secretly hoping that the ninjas got freed from their ice prison to stop this.
Back in the restaurant, Jay was still being assaulted by the customers before he managed to crawl his way under them and into the restroom, closing the door behind him quickly before the mob could get him. He quickly came out with the scarf wrapped around his head to hide his face.
"Don't go in there, he bitessss," Jay told the crowd. "Thisss is not dinner theater, people, it'sss real. Arm yourssselvessss!"
Jay made his way through the crowd before he ran out of the restaurant, and once he made it outside, looked behind him and saw the snake tail grow longer.
"Nya! Where isss ssshe?" He asked before he saw Pythor and the Serpentine with the Fang Blade. "Hey!"
The Serpentine turned their attention to the blue ninja as he pulled out his nunchucks and spun them around, but he turned to his side so they could see his snake tail, and they all, minus Rattalia, laughed.
"Oh, what happened?" Pythor asked in faux-sympathy before smirking, "Fangpyre bit you by the tongue?" He joked as they continued to laugh and Jay was about to charge at them before he heard a familiar voice.
"Jay!" He stopped to see Nya and Melissa chained up to a roller coaster cart. "Help!" They both screamed as they struggled to get free.
Pythor nodded to a Constrictai as she nodded back to start up the ride.
"Later, alligator. Let'sss go, boysss," Pythor said before he and the other Serpentine left the amusement park.
"But uncle..." Rattalia spoke up trying to reason with him, only to stop when she saw him glaring at her.
"Now, young lady!" Pythor said sternly as Rattalia stayed quiet and followed him.
Jay had no choice but to go save Nya and Melissa as he ran to the cart and jumped on it.
"What happened to you?" Nya asked him, noting he had his scarf around his face.
"What happened to you?" Jay asked before he saw that the part of the track up ahead had been destroyed with a flaming hoop at the end. "Unh, we have to get you two out of here." Nya saw the snake tail on his back side when he tried to break the chains.
"Were you bitten?" Nya asked in shock. "How did you get bit?"
"He got pricked by that Fangpyre skeleton," Melissa said as she struggled to free herself.
"He did? Well, take off your head scarf," Nya told him.
"I prefer not," Jay said in his embarrassment. "I wasss meaning to tell you, but I didn't want it to ruin the date."
"Oh, that's so sweet," Nya said causing Melissa to roll her eyes before trying to get free again. "Hey, you are the first in your 'Lil Scouts to get your knot badge, right?"
"Yeah, about that," Jay said with a nervous laugh. "I made that up jussst so I could impresssss you. I wasss never in 'Lil Scouts."
"You weren't?" Nya asked before she looked ahead and gasped. "Hold on!"
"What? You have an idea?" Jay asked.
"No, I think she means hold on!" Melissa shouted as they were about to go down the ramp of the roller coaster.
Jay quickly got into a seat and it went down so fast that his scarf flew off his head and showed off his snake face and green skin with snake scales. Jay felt the scarf was off as Nya looked at him.
"Aah! Don't look at me! I'm a monssster!" Jay told her as he covered his face. "Though, I hate the ssssamurai where isss he when you actually need him?" Nya looked away as Melissa gave her a look as she knew what she had to do. "Sssamurai! Help! Help! Sssamurai!"
"Jay, I don't think the samurai is coming," Nya told him.
"Why?" Jay asked.
"I know, this might not be the best time, but I haven't been totally honest either," Nya said while looking away.
"What isss it?" Jay asked.
"Nya, just tell him already," Melissa told her in a stern tone.
"I... I'm the samurai," Nya confessed to Jay which shocked him to the bone.
"You're the sssamurai?!" Jay asked as they were getting close to the end. "Aah! We're running out of track!"
"What do we do?" Melissa asked in a panicked tone.
"Jay, if anything horrible were to happen, I want you to know that you don't have to wear cologne or pretend to be anything you're not," Nya told him before smiling, "Because I like you best when you're you." She then gave him a kiss on the cheek after which his entire body glowed before it was returned to normal.
"Jay, your face is turning back to normal," Melissa noted.
"It's just like Nya said, she must have raised my heart rate," Jay told her as the end was coming.
"Whatever happens next, just remember, you are the best you," Nya told him.
Jay then stood up on his back hooves as his golden nunchucks were glowing. He then felt power coursing through him as his whole body and eyes began to glow.
"Whoa! What's happening?" Melissa asked before, in a flash of light, he was in his ninja suit and electricity was all over his body.
"My True Potential!" Jay answered before he vanished in a flash of light and appeared in front of the carts.
As Jay floated in the air, he used his power to slow the carts down to try and stop it as he put his hooves in front of it. People on the ground watched in anticipation as it was getting close to the edge but stopped before it could thanks to Jay. He then rested on the cart as his power went down and he was exhausted.
"Wow! Somehow, your powers keep appearing in a bright flash," Nya said in awe.
"But, that was so awesome," Melissa said in amazement. "You just started glowing and then disappeared in a flash, and appeared in front of the carts, and made it stop. It was so amazing."
"Yeah, heh, heh, no kidding," Jay said with a pant. "Now, let's get you out of those chains and back down to earth." He said as he started unchaining Nya and Melissa from the ride.
After Jay got Nya and Melissa down, they found and defrosted the others and right now, they were all outside the entrance of the amusement park, and all but Kai was surprised that Nya was the mysterious samurai.
"You really had me fooled," Zane told Nya. "I never guessed you were the samurai."
"I wish I had a sister like you," Cole said as Nya smiled at him.
"Technically, I was the first to discover her secret and didn't we agree whoever we thought was the best would naturally be the Green Ninja?" Kai asked in a bragging tone. "Huh? The Green Ninja! One of the Destined Ninjas to defeat Lord Garmadon, huh?"
"Why would we say that?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, I'm drawing a blank," Cole said.
"Nope, that conversation is not in my database," Zane said as Kai sighed and shook his head in disappointment.
"Also, hate to break it to you, Kai, but me and Lloyd found out that Nya was the samurai way before you did," Melissa told him.
"Wait, what?" All four ninjas said in unison.
"How did you and Lloyd find out about my identity anyway?" Nya asked.
"Me and Lloyd were walking by your room and saw you dressed up in that samurai outfit," Melissa explained, "And that was when the guys got those new outfits."
"And, how come you never told us?" Cole asked.
"Well, you guys never asked, and it was none of our business," Melissa said with a shrug before she started snickering. "Also, it was pretty funny that you guys wasted your time with a dumb competition on trying to find out who the samurai was when all you morons could've done was just ask me and Lloyd."
The four ninjas were completely shocked, and they all felt stupid to know that they had just wasted their time when Lloyd and Melissa found out way before they did and their competition was all for nothing.
"You know what I learned today?" Jay spoke up changing the subject.
"What's that?" Nya asked.
"No matter what kind of secret you have, whether you're a snake or a samurai, it's important to be yourself," Jay said.
"Yeah, that's cute," Cole said while rolling his eyes, "But you wanna know what I learned? The Serpentine now have the first Fang Blade."
"But, we are getting stronger," Zane pointed out, "One day, we will all reach our True Potential and the Serpentine will be stopped."
"And, we figured out all this without sensei. Pretty good for four ninjas," Jay said, and then Nya hit his shoulder, "And a samurai."
"I wonder what sensei is doing right now," Kai said.
"All we can do is hope he's alright for now. Let's head back to the Bounty," Nya suggested as they returned to their ship.
Back in the Madness Realm, the two brothers made their way to the base of the Mountain of Madness.
"We're here," Garmadon told his brother, "The Mountain of Madness."
Sensei Wu looked up and saw blue light from the top of the tall mountain.
"The only way back to Ninjago is up there?" Wu asked Garmadon.
"The worst is yet to come," Garmadon told his brother as they began climbing the mountain.
Back at the Bounty at night on the Bridge, Nya was checking Jay over to make sure there were no traces of the Fangpyre venom still in him.
"Well, Jay, my theory is correct. Once I increased your heart rate, the venom's effect had been reversed," Nya said with a small smile. "There's no trace left in you."
"Oh, thank goodness," Jay said in relief as he stood up, "I'm glad to hear it, 'cause I never wanna go through that again."
"Thinking it'll stop you from being the Green Ninja?" Nya asked with a grin, "Or the Purple Ninja?"
Jay held up his hands. "Oh, no, after today, I just realized green is not my color, nor is purple." He said as he looked over himself. "I think I would stick with the classic blue, so no Green or Purple Ninja for me."
"Well, glad you like blue so much, 'cause I got something to show you," Nya said, walking up to him with a grin. "Close your eyes."
"Uh, OK, why?" Jay asked as he closed his eyes.
"Just keep them close until I tell you to open them," Nya said as Jay heard the sound of her undressing and then her grunts of frustration. "Come on, you stupid…" She muttered before she sighed as she finally got it on. "There, OK, Jay, you can look now."
Jay opened his eyes as he saw Nya in a new kimono dress. it was just like her old one, but the one major difference was that it was teal blue as she gave a small smile at Jay, she twirled around to show off her new dress.
"W-Wow!" Jay said, watching her twirl and looking at him with a warm smile.
"Do you like it? Melissa helped me pick it out," Nys asked with her hands behind her back. "She told me that since my favorite color is blue, I should change my outfit to something that suits me, and for a little kid, she's pretty smart. So, what do you think?"
"Uhhh…" Jay said completely and utterly stunned so much that his brain was short-circuited and seeing this, Nya felt playful and looked at Jay in mock-hurt.
"You don't like it?" Nya wept with big teary eyes and a trembling frown.
Seeing this, Jay immediately snapped out of it and frantically waved his arms with a hot blush. "Yes! I mean, N-No! NO! I do like it, Nya!" He said quickly. "Y-You look…"
Nya gave a slight chuckle, "Fantastic?" She guessed.
"Y-Yeah," Jay said before he realized something. "Hey, wait a minute, you played a hurtful trick on me!" He said before crossing his arms and looking away in a pout.
"Aww, does my hero need an apology?" Nya playfully said to Jay. "Is that why you're pouting, big-lightning-boo?" She teased with a small smile.
"Hehehe, real mature, Nya," Jay said with a slight chuckle and a small smirk.
"Then, how about this as forgiveness?" Nya asked as she held Jay by the cheeks and kissed him on the lips which surprised him before he kissed back.
The two held on to each other as Jay grabbed Nya by the waist, and Nya wrapped her arms around Jay's neck as they held the kiss. They stood there for a few minutes before they broke apart and gave each other warm smiles.
"I love you," Nya said warmly.
"I love you, too," Jay said warmly as the two held one another and the moon shined down on them as they enjoyed the quiet night.

A/N: And that's Once Bitten Twice Shy and I actually find Jay and Nya to be a cute couple, and I'm gonna be honest, I'm not looking forward to the whole love triangle thing with Cole. I'm not a big fan of it, and it looks like the Serpentine got the first Fang Blade. Let's hope the ninjas can get the others before Pythor does.
