Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have last posted something. I noticed since it's been 11 years since Annette Funicello, I wondered what Mickey and his friends would think about this? And that is where the idea for this fanfic was created. I don't own the characters of Mickey and his friends they are under the sole ownership of the Disney Company . And so on with the show
The lights of the clubhouse dimmed, casting an unfamiliar hush over the usual pre-show chaos. Goofy nervously polished Pluto's collar, Donald muttered under his breath, and Minnie dabbed a corner of her eye with a tissue. Mickey, his usual smile strained, stood backstage, a single black ribbon adorning his yellow shorts.
Eleven years. Eleven years since Annette had left for that big castle in the sky. A lifetime for a mouse, a blink for the stars. Yet, the memory of her laughter still echoed in the rafters, the warmth of her smile lingered in the stage lights.
Mickey closed his eyes, and a kaleidoscope of memories unfolded. "Gosh, Annette," he whispered to himself, "it feels like just yesterday we were all together."
"Remember the first time we met her?" Goofy said, coming up beside Mickey. "She was so excited to be a Mouseketeer."
"Yeah," Mickey replied, a small smile forming. "She was always so full of energy. I remember our first duet. She was so nervous, but as soon as the music started, she just lit up the stage."
"M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!" Donald quacked, mimicking their old chant. "She had a voice like an angel."
"She did," Mickey agreed, his voice softening. "And those beach movies with Frankie Avalon... She was the star of the show."
"I loved those movies," Minnie said, joining the group. "She brought so much joy to everyone who watched her."
"Do you remember when she came back to visit the clubhouse?" Mickey asked, looking at his friends. "She had a touch of silver in her hair, but her eyes still sparkled with that same mischief."
"She sang a few old tunes with us," Minnie recalled, her eyes misting over. "It was like stepping back in time."
A tear slipped down Mickey's cheek. "I miss her. Miss her bright spirit, her unwavering kindness. The world feels a little less magical without her sunshine."
Suddenly, a voice, soft but firm, broke through his melancholy. "Showtime, Mickey." It was Minnie, her voice thick with emotion.
Mickey took a deep breath, wiping his cheek. He straightened his black ribbon, a silent tribute to his friend. "Annette would have wanted us to keep going," he said, determination in his voice. "The show must go on."
As the curtain rose, Mickey forced a smile. The cheers of the children washed over him, a wave of pure joy. He launched into the familiar opening song, his voice strong and clear. Maybe, just maybe, a bit of Annette's magic lived on in every laugh, every smile the clubhouse brought to these young faces.
The show ended in a flurry of confetti and happy goodbyes. Mickey, drained but content, stood backstage. He looked up at the twinkling lights, a silent message carried on a whisper of wind. "We miss you, Annette. But your song will forever play on in our hearts."
