(Nino's POV)
Paris...once a pretty nice place to live, often called the city of love, now, well...i don't know what to call it anymore..
The city is now drenched in a eternal rainstorm, most of the city's tourist attractions are inaccessable due the Seine being flooded, no one can get ice cream at andre's anymore, even getting to school is a hassle!
Everyone is misserable, and what pisses me off the most, is that WE were to blame for it all, why you ask? well, we broke the sweetest, most lovable, most kindhearted person in the whole world, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and got her Akumatized, Hawkmoth's most powerfull Akuma ever!
It all started about a year ago, with that snake Lila Rossi, she pretty much got the entire Class turned against Marinette, even me!
One Year Ago...
Marinette was walking to school, wearing a dark blue hoodie and black jeans, carrying the umbrella Adrien gave her, a gloomy look on her face, it was pouring outside, and she wasn't up to go to school today, or at all actually.
As Lila continued to worm her way into her classmates hearts, she was constantly being yelled and scolded for things she didn't do, Lila was hellbent on ruining her life, and she didn't care about what Lila did with her class anymore, she resigned from being class rep, despite Ms. Bustier's pleas for her to stay.
For once she was able to get to school on time, she opened the door, only to be met with a cold bucket of water on her head!
Kim and Alix laughed with glee, as did Alya and the others, but Marinette didn't care anymore, her sadness making her numb to everything.
"Fuck! Mari's no fun to prank anymore!" said Alix, as Mari took her seat, only to be tripped by Kim!
Still, no response from Marinette, "Yep, i think she's broken..."
Lila simply smiled, she did it, she officially broken her, Marinette got up and took her seat as Ms. Bustier began class.
Arround lunchtime, Adrien found Marinette sitting by herself, eating just some crackers, he decided to sit next to her, Mari looked pale, like she hadn't eaten in years, her once delicate fingers were now bony and frail, her eyes sunken and gray, and her eyes had long lost their shine.
"Marinette?" asked Adrien.
"Hey..." she said in a monotone voice.
"Look, i know my advice about taking the high road with Lila's lies may not seem like the right thing, but i want you to know how proud i am of you for sticking to it, don't worry, everyone will see thorugh her lies in time and thing will be back to normal soon, but Mari, you've got to eat somthing other than crackers, Marc told me you haven't eaten in months, that's not healthy for you." Adrien said.
"Just leave Adrien, i want to be alone..." Marinette said.
"That's another thing, you sitting here all by yourself isn't healthy either, i know the others have been causing trouble for you, but look at yourself, you look like you're dying!" said Adrien.
"Maybe i am..." she said.
"Mari, please, you can't keep living like this, if you don't come over and sit with us, i'm telling the principal you've been starving yourself to death!" Adrien said.
"You have no right to say that you actually care, all you've done is allow Lila and the others to torture me to death, at least if i die of starvation, i'll die on my own terms, so don't say you know what's best for me, when you knew about Lila and did nothing!" Marinette growled.
"Mari, i get it, you don't wan't anything to do with me right now, but Lila will get caught, but it's not gonna mean anything if you're dead! so please, just come sit with us and eat somthing." said Adrien.
"No..." she simply said.
(Nino: i had just thrown away my garbage when i saw Adrien talking to Marinette, but what i saw next would make me sick.)
SLAP!
Adrien slapped Marinette with enough force to send her to the ground!
(Ninoi: Everyone saw him, some were horrofied, others were snickering, Me, i was pissed off!)
"Damnit Mari! get over this emotional roadblock and come sit with us, i will not let you ruin this for me just because you can't handle a few lies and a little teasing!" snarled Adrien.
Marinette bursed into tears and ran to the girls' room, Adrien was about to follow her when Nino delivered a herd punch to Adrien's chest!
"You fuckin' stay away from her! that goes for all of you, especialy you Alya! SHE'S HAD ENOUGH!" Nino yelled.
Nino looked at Rose and Juleka, who didn't buy Lila's lies, and the two girls nodded and went after the bluenette!
Nino sooned turned to his soon to be Ex-Best Friend, "So let me get this straight, you KNEW about Lila's lies and you did nothing? you let Marinette suffer for so long? WHY?"
"I was trying to keep the peace, it's not like her lies were hurting anyone!" Adrien retorted.
"Didn't Hurt anyone? NEWS FLASH! Mari was hurting! she still is hurting, you let us bully and torment her for months! hell, Alya trashed her sketchbook!" yelled Nino, "We're the reason she doesen't smile anymore, WE'RE the reason she barely eats anything!"
Nino turned his back, away from his class, away from Adrien, "Unless you want that pretty face broken, stay the fuck away from her..." and with that, he ran to his childhood friend, the friend he should have stood up for...
Meanwhile...
In the girls' bathroom, Marinette was silently crying, holding the very unbrella Adrien gave her, unaware of the purple butterfly landing on the tip...
"Ms. Downpour, i am HawkMoth, for so long you have drowned in sadness and misery, i grant you the power force your foes to do the same, all i want is Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous..."
Marinette thought long and hard, she knows she shouldn't but she's so tired...
Fearing the worst, Tikki grabbed the earings as Marinette accepted the villan's offer.
"Sadnees, Misery, Pain, I will drown all of Paris! i will make them suffer! Like ME!" she cried as the magic enveloped her...
Hawkmoth's Lair...
"YES! i've done it, i managed to do the impossible, i've Akumatized Marinette Dupain Cheng!" the villan cackled with joy!
"Sir...What have you done?" Nathalie said.
"Hmm?" spoke the villan.
"That girl was obviously depressed, you akumtized a depressed child, there's no telling what she could be capable of! you may not even be able to control her!" Nathalie said.
"You worry too much Nathalie, everything will work out..." said HawkMoth.
Rose and Juleka went inside the girls' room, but were too late, Marinette Dupain-Cheng was no more.
In her place was tall, lanky figure, with pale, sickly blue skin, long arms with long, thin, fingers carrying a light-purple unbrella with a sharp, metal hook, her pigtails remained but her eyes with blue with black pupils and dark bags under her eyes, with a single crystal teardrop on the right of her face.
Her dress had a blue top with a teardrop emblem, with a blue and cyan striped skirt, her socks were black and sky blue with dark blue Hi-top shoes.
"Greetings, i am Ms. Downpour, here to share my misery with you all!" she said. she pointed her Umbrella at the two girls, and a cyan laser flew out zapping both girls at once!
Both girls turned blue and simply sat down, not having the energy to fight back.
"Sigh, Misery loves company..." she said as she patted both of their heads, her goal clear, she began her mission of misery.
Boys' Bathroom
"YOU MORON!" roared Plagg, "Are you trying to turn Pigtails into an akuma?"
"I was angry, she wouldn't listen to reason, i didn't mean to hit her!" Adrien argued.
"Did you ever stop to think that Sausage-Hair's lies WERE hurting people, Pigtails especailly?" Plagg explained.
"No...but Marinette's strong, stronger than i ever could be." Adrien said.
"No...she's not..."
Plagg turned to find Tikki, holding Marinette's earings...
"Sugarcube, are those?" asked Plagg.
Tikki nodded, then looked at Adrien with a disapponted frown.
"Are you happy now? THIS is what "Taking the high road" got my chosen! and now she's gotten akumatized! do you have any idea how much she has suffered! having to endure depression, bullying, loneliness, and isolation, doing her best to avoid being Akumatized until she could no longer feel at all!" Tikki roared with tears in her eyes, "i cannot even count how many times she's contemplated killing herself, and almost succeeded if i and the other kwamis hadn't restrained her!"
Plagg's eyes widened, as did Adrien's, Marinette was Ladybug? Ladybug tried to kill herself?
And as soon as the revelation sunk in, he was down on his knees, he had royally fucked up, and he knew it.
Plagg soon faced his chosen with a look of determination,"Kid, it's not too late, you may have given her bad advice, but you're young and spent most of you life in a gilded cage, right now, your Lady needs you!"
Adrien got to his feet, took the earings from Tikki and looked out from the boys' room door.
Almost everyone in the school had been affected by Ms. Downpour's powers, having turned blue and have lost the will to fight, or run.
"This is one of Ms. Downpour's powers, she makes her victims as depressed and miserable as she is." Tikki explained, "Her Akumatisied item is the umbrella you gave her."
"So she's just a really depressed Stormy Weather?" asked Plagg.
"Yes and no, she can cause Rainstorms, but that's it." Tikki explained.
"Alright, let's get our Marinette back!" said Adrien.
"Tikki, Plagg. Unify!"
And with that, Bug Noir raced to the rescue!
(Nino: luckly for me, i hid at home before Marinette, or as she called herself, Ms. Downpour, was able to get me, a lot of the students were able to escape before the were turned into depressed zombies, once Ms. Downpour was done with the school, she soon got to the center of the city and created a massive rainstorm!)
Bug Noir searched throughout the rain-drenched city, many of the citizens were confined to their homes as the storm made getting from place to place impossible!
Despite this, he had to keep going, he failed his lady once, but he would not again.
Soon, he managed to find her, atop the TVI studio watching the rain fall under the safety of her umbrella.
"Hello..." she said in a monotone voice.
"Hey Marinette..." Bug Noir said.
"It's Ms. Downpour now..." she said, "If you're here for my Akuma, i'm afraid i can't grant your request, you see, my job is not yet complete..." she said.
"You job?" Bug Noir asked.
"Take a look, this city is now a perfect example of how i feel, an eternal rainstorm within my heart. Ms. Downpour said, "I tried..i tried so hard to weather this storm, but i couldn't, you see, this storm has exisited in my heart for a long time, Before Lila, Before Chloe, Before a lot of things, i'm not the positive person people think i am, it is mearly a mask."
"I don't believe that!" said Bug Noir.
"You don't have to, just hand over you miraculous, and i'll be on my way..." she said.
"Sorry, not happening..." Bug Noir said.
"I knew you would be stubborn, so i brought back-up..." Ms. Downpour.
Just then Bug Noir felt his arms being tugged, he soon realised that Juleka and Rose were restraining him!
"They understand the pain i feel..." Ms. Downpour said as she reached for the earings and ring.
And in a flash, Adrien stood where Bug Noir was.
"Hmm, figures...no matter, i have what i came for." said Ms. Downpour as she pointed her Umbrella at Adrien.
"Ms. Downpour, stop! you have what i need!" HawkMoth said.
"No, he caused me the most pain, he knew about Lila's lies but did nothing, and now he shall know my pain..." Ms. Downpour said as she zapped Adrien, turning him into a depressed zombie!
"No! what have i done!" cried HawkMoth, he tried to recall the akuma but couldn't, Marinette's depression was too great for Hawk Moth to control.
Her job complete, Ms. Downpour lept away...
Present Day...
Nino's POV:
And that's the story, it's been about a year and a half, and Ms. Downpour still walks the streets of Paris to this day, often sitting atop the Eiffel Tower, basking in her handywork, the rainstorms becam more intense, the Seine flooded most of the city, and most of the citizens were confined to the homes.
This was our fault, we took the side of somone who we barely knew, over somone we've know for our whole lives, and now we're being punished for it.
If i could redo everything, i would have cramed Lila's words down her throat!
But...i didn't...this storm will never end, and we deserve it...

MC: Two Days...that's how long this fanfic took me to write, two freakin' days, 6 cans of Coca-Cola, and 4 slices of pizza!
Tikki: YOU MONSTER! You turned my chosen into a depressed monster!
MC: Yes, yes i did...But in all seriousness, Depression is a crippling thing to go through, i myself went through it during my junior and senior year of high school.
MC: so to those also going through it, know that you are loved and that everyone is born on this earth for a reason, and i do hope you find that reason...
