Chapter 1: A Halloween Story:
Sonic's POV:
Cream and Cheese were getting ready for Halloween.
"I can't wait to go trick or treating," says Cream.
"Chao!"
"Well, it's too early," I said, "hey, how'bout I tell you a story."
"It's not gonna be another Tombsday book is it," asks Cream, "not only was the last one scary, but the plot made no sense."
"Nahh, it's a story about two witches," I said, "in a place called Grim Hills."
A Tale of Two Witches:
Once, upon a spooky time, in a place called Grim Hills...
"This is it, Julie-Su," says Sally, "Graduation Day! And now we can be real witches!"
"And we'll finally get our own magic wands," says Julie-Su, "wait, where's my spell book? I always lose it! Oh wait, I'm standing on it."
"Come on," I said, "we can't be late for Witchmaster Fox's class!"
. . .
"Greetings, my students," says Witchmaster Fox, along with her, a gill-man named Bass. "First, I must congratulate you both for doing so well with your witchy lessons."
"Thank you Witchmaster Fox," Sally and Julie-Su both said.
"And today, on Halloween, you will graduate and become real witches!"
"They're going to turn into my Aunt," Bass jokes.
"But only if you pass four tests, which will prove that you know all there is to be a witch."
"Then do I get a wand," asks Julie-Su.
"If you graduate," says Witchmaster Fox.
"Graduate first," says Julie-Su, "wand second."
"Today's tests will be on four important things a witch must know, spellcasting, broom flying, levitation, and spreading the spooky spirit of Halloween. And to help you, I will demonstrate these witchy skills. Sally, Julie-Su, are you ready to graduate and become real witches?"
"Yes we are," Sally and Julie-Su both say.
"Then grab your brooms and follow me because... we have lots of witchy work to do!
. . .
Cream: Sonic, can this story have songs?
Cheese: Chao.
Sonic: Who's telling the story? But sure, why not?
. . .
Witchmaster Fox: It's All Hallow's Eve of Graduation
So, add these skills to your education
Bass: Number One
Witchmaster Fox: Are the spells we'll be casting
Which depend in the end of the rhyme
Bass: Number Two
Witchmaster Fox: See, your broom's ever blasting
So, your flying can turn on a dime
Bass: Number Three
Witchmaster Fox: Flotation Levitation
Which are two skills in one where you rise
Bass: Number Four
Witchmaster Fox: Spreading more spooky spirit
That's what makes one a witch in my eye
That's how to witch
How to witch
How to witch
How to be a very good witch
It's your sense of a spooky spirit
That scratch that witchity itch
How to witch
How to witch
How to witch
How to flip that nifty switch
Take a pose
From one who knows
The steps on how to witch
Sally: I'd love to be the kind of witch
Who helps out folks in need
To use my witchy charms for good
I'd be a happy witch in deed
Julie-Su: I want so much to be a witch
But graduation's touch
What if I never earn my wand?
Because I'm just not good enough
Witchmaster Fox/Sally/Julie-Su: How to witch
How to witch
How to witch
How to be a very scary good witch
Let your spooky spirit fly
And you will find that niche
How to witch
How to witch
How to witch
A very scary good witch
For Halloween
With the scene
An official real live witch!
The three witches then do a cackle.
. . .
"Attention Junior Witches," says Witchmaster Fox, "before you take your witchy tests, I need you to hand out a few invitations for tonight's Big Halloween Boo Bash Party and our annual kooky spooky contest and the Boo Bowl Ampitheater! The contest is to see who is the spookiest and kookiest ghost, ghoul, or goblin in Grim Hills! So, let's deliver those invitations and get the word out!" Sally and Julie-Su then get up. "Now hurry up so you can take the tests! And if either one of you doesn't graduate and become a full fledge witch, there's always next Halloween." Julie-Su's nervous.
. . .
Sally and Julie-Su hand out the invitations. One particular ghost named Dr. Eggman gets one. "The Boo Bash," says Eggman, "I gotta tell Snively!"
"So far, everything's going great," says Sally.
"Unless one of us doesn't graduate," says Julie-Su, "maybe I'm not good enough to be a real witch. I'm not sure I can do this."
"I believe in you," says Sally.
. . .
They then find Sonic the Werehog, Tails the Zombie, Frankenknuckles, and Amy Thorn the Vampire.
"So, how's the training going at the academy," asks Sonic.
"Today's our big witchy test," says Sally.
"And if we pass, we both get to be real witches," says Julie-Su.
"I'll bet you both graduate tonight and become real witches," says Sonic.
"Let's hope Witchmaster Fox thinks so, too," says Julie-Su.
"Good luck," says Sonic the Werehog, Tails the Zombie, Frankenknuckles, and Amy the Vampire.
. . .
Meanwhile, with Scar the Yaoguai, Billie the Zombie, and Day the... well, her family is the only normal family in Grim Hills.
Day has blonde hair and blue eyes. Her hair has blue and pink highlights at the ends. Oftentimes, she wears it out, but occasionally she is seen with a braid on her right side. She has light freckles and different-colored nails. Day prefers to dress in multicolored or fluffy clothes outside of school. She is often seen in colorful sweaters and coordinated outfits. She wears colored eyeshadow and eyeliner to match the outfit she is wearing. She wears the traditional school shoes, however, wears them with bright pink shoelaces.
"I don't have a new song," says Scar. "I'm having trouble coming up with the new song, but inspiration will strike soon... I... I hope."
"I told you that you shouldn't have spent all that night playing that video game and you better hope that inspiration will strike you soon, 'cause when the Grim Clock strikes thirteen, it'll be time for every goblin and ghost to 'boo'-gey down on the dance floor," says Billy, "anyone want some foot?"
"Sure," says Scar.
"No thanks," says Day, "I'd prefer not eating a body part."
"She is weird," Billie whispers to Scar.
"Come on," says Scar, "we better think of something."
. . .
"Fa-boo-lous," says Eggman, "tonight's gonna be my lucky fright night! Tonight's the Big Halloween Kooky Spooky Contest at the Boo Bash!"
"Is this the same contest you lost last year," asks Snively, "and the year before that, and the year before that, and... oddly enough, you missed the year before that."
"I just wasn't spooky enough," says Eggman, "well, tonight, I'm gonna win! I come from a long line of winners. And for once in my afterlife, I'm going to make my family proud! I won't lose because this year, I've been practicing my scary new moves!" Eggman tries to scare Snively but fails. "I'm still working on it. Let's go sign up for that contest! Because tonight, I'll be the spooky ghost with the most!" Eggman then bumps in the wall. "Why can't I go through things like other ghosts?"
To Be Continued
Sonic the Hedgehog's Tale of Two Witches takes place between Chapter 104 and Chapter 105 of Sonic the Hedgehog. Day's Grim Hills appearance is based on Enid Sinclair's Human from the Wednesday Netflix Series. In the next chapter, Scar tries to come up with a song.
