Chapter 5: A Little Bit of Fright Makes Halloween Just Right:

A Tale of Two Witches:

Dr. Eggman was looking for a way to make himself scarier and since he can't alter his DNA because he didn't have any DNA, he decided to go for magic... but how?

"Right this way," says Witchmaster Fox. She then creates a giant flytrap. "See Girls? A little bit of fright makes Halloween just right."

"Boo-ya," says Dr. Eggman, "that's it! If I had that wand, I could turn myself into something spooktacular! I'll swipe that wand tonight and show this entire town that I can be a spooky spirit!"

. . .

"Junior Witches," says Witchmaster Fox, "for your final test, I'd like you to decorate Spooky Street anyway you like... as long as it screams Halloween!"

"I could make glowing pumpkins," says Sally.

"And I'll make skulls," says Julie-Su.

Witchmaster Fox then summons an hourglass. "And you must be finished before the hourglass runs out."

"One hour?"

"But that's gonna be impossible," says Julie-Su.

"Where there's a witch, there's a way," says Witchmaster Fox, "make it look spook-tacular and witchy-rific. After all, Halloween only comes once a year!" She then leaves.

"I guess I'll decorate the right side of the street," says Julie-Su.

"I'll take the left side," says Sally.

"If only we had our own magic wands," says Julie-Su, "then I could use mine to decorate. It would be so much easier."

"We don't need wands," says Sally.

"But my graduation depends on it," says Julie-Su.

"We can do it as long as we have each other," says Sally, "let's go for it."

Sally: It's so magical being witchy
When you're getting the chance to shine

Julie-Su: I'm so nervous I'm getting twitchy
Worried no wands will be mine

Sally: What delicious little mischief
Shall we pull from our pointy hats

Julie-Su: All I feel comes down to this
The pressure's gonna drive me bats

Sally/Julie-Su: But let's get on the spooky side
Come on and
Show off your spooky side
String the lights
To cause a fright
And let your nightmares be your guide

Sally: Love these spooky transformations
And you find these thrills galore

Julie-Su: When it comes to my decorations
Am I wrong to think more is more?

Sally: Think of all the scares you'll bring
Julie-Su: Think of that test you better pass
Sally: Imagine who will be cheering boo
Julie-Su: As sands run through the hourglass

Sally/Julie-Su: So, get on the spooky side
And do that thing that real witches do
And show then how
We're ready now
To make our witchy dreams come true
Keep your view on the spooky side
Come debut your spooky side

Sally: Enjoy your ride
Julie-Su: I'm terrified

Sally/Julie-Su: We'll share our pride
Our spooky side!

Dr. Eggman then knocks everything. "I better get out of here," says Dr. Eggman.

"What happened here," asks Julie-Su.

"Are you okay," asks Sally.

"I think I added too many decorations," says Julie-Su.

"Maybe we can try to fix it," says Sally.

Too late, the sands run out and Witchmaster Fox appears. "I'm back, Junior Witches," says Witchmaster Fox, "let's see how you did on your final test... what happened here?"

"I can explain," says Julie-Su, "you see, I..."

"I'm sorry, Julie-Su," says Witchmaster Fox, "but you tried your best." Sally gets a pass and Julie-Su gets a fail. "Junior Witches, your witchy tests are over. Tonight, at the Boo Bash, I will announce who will be graduating to finally become a real witch. But before I go, let's tidy things up a bit." She then uses her wand to fix everything up.

"I gotta have that wand," says Dr. Eggman, "I would sell my soul for it... wait, I am a soul. I would sell myself for it!"

"See you both at the boo bash," says Witchmaster Fox. She then disappears.

"My witchy career is over," says Julie-Su, "I'm never graduating."

"Don't say that," says Sally, "there's still a chance."

"I don't think so," says Julie-Su.

"Let's get back and get ready for the party," says Sally.

The Junior Witches then head off.

"While they're getting ready, I'll sneak in and take that wand," says Dr. Eggman, "and once I get that wand, I'll use it to turn myself into something big and spooky! This town will never laugh at me again!"

To Be Continued

In the next chapter, Julie-Su and Eggman fight over the wand.
