AN: When I was writing the end I was like 'Am I a genuis or what?' but all fanfiction writters have that feeling so probably not.

Bonesborough

" Coming through! "

" Faster human, faster I said! "

The human and the small demon resting on her back were running on the streets in a hurry.

Why?

Well, the human just got an epic mysterious quest from a well-dressed wizard and wanted to go back to the Owl House to prepare to go on an adventure just like in the Azura book. King was just having fun riding Luz. Luz tried to dodge many demons on the way, although she was so joyfully high that she changed her trajectory at the last second many times, oblivious to the complaints of the demons.

" This is gonna be sooo fun! "

Finally, her recklessness got the better of her. She was about to hit someone and had too much momentum to stop, if she changed her path so suddenly she might fall. Kind-hearted as she was, she risked it. She moved her body out of the way and the floor was about to welcome her.

*Splash*

She and King felt a liquid hit their bodies from behind, they glowed gray, and instead of falling they went up and started to float.

King and Luz started to freak out as they spined in the air but it soon faded when the teen was grabbed by her leg stopping her momentum. They looked down and were surprised to see who it was.

" Titan! " Luz more than King.

Titan was grabbing her with a cork in her mouth and her Palisman holding a vial full of glowing gray liquid. Her other hand was occupied with a scroll.

The witch let go of Luz, who panicked again and was flailing around which only made her spin. She took the potion from her Palimsen to put the cork back on and put the vial in her hair. Then she spun Luz around, as she was upside down, and held her by her waist.

Finally being face to face at the same height the witch was the first to speak.

" Hello, Luz the Human. "

It took a few seconds but Luz responded, still embarrassed for no reason. " Hello uhm, Miss Titan. "

King was just bored.

While Luz didn't know what else to say, Titan seemed completely comfortable just staring and smiling at her in silence.

" So… " Eventually Luz got curious as to how she was saved. " Was that a potion? "

" Yes, an Anti-Gravity Potion. I actually needed to restock but when I saw you falling while I had one in hand I thought, eh one less wouldn't be a problem. Don't worry I only splashed you with a small amount, the effect should disappear in three… two… " Before the last second Titan let go of Luz. Gravity took hold of her and King and they landed on the ground.

Luz looked up to Titan. " One. " Once again she loved how awesome the witch was. The sparkles in her eyes were proof enough.

" Not again. " King did not need Luz to be in fangirl mode.

" So what's the hurry, Luz? "

The human was reminded of the whole reason she was in this situation and with Titan here she wanted to share this with her. " Oh right, you see I met a wizard that gave me an epic quest. " She got the map out and showed it to the witch.

" Hmm, Celestial Staff? Never heard of it, but that's quite the coincidence that I ran by you as I was searching for a wizard myself. "

" Really? "

" You don't mind guiding me to him? "

The great Titan of the Light was asking for her help, notwithstanding how small the task was. " I would love to! It's actually not very far. "

" Hey, I'm tired already, I demand you to carry me home! I shall not let this woman seduce you! "

" King! " Why did he have to say 'seduce'? That's just embarrassing, she was not being seduced, although maybe by some specific human standard a tall, beautiful, strong monster girl could be considered attractive.

A clawed hand with a bag of cupcakes assaulted the small demon's sight. He took it. His wagging tail a proof of his happiness and hunger despite the feast he had at the wizard's castle.

" Great, let's talk on the way. "

As they turned around and walked with a destination in mind, Luz took a few moments to stop just staring and start asking, though in those moments she noticed how some demons were looking at the tall witch with a bit of spite. But if it didn't bother Miss Titan then neither should it bother her.

" So, what kind of demon are you? "

" A Titan, I thought I already told you. "

" You did, but there's so many different demons with so many different traits. " Just yesterday she saw a demon that ate their own eyes, one that could mold their tentacle hands into anything, and let's not forget Eda who could detach part of her body and it didn't seem related to magic at all, and… Hooty… " I'm just wondering what are yours, I don't really know what or who the Titan is in the first place. "

" Eda didn't show you yet? I thought it would be the first thing she would tell you, it's pretty important to know who the Titan is. "

" No, she didn't show me anything. I don't think Eda takes me as an apprentice seriously, today I was sent to potion delivery. "

" Hmm. Maybe she's afraid of teaching you the wrong things or disappointing you. I'm sure being a master is like being a parent, it's hard. She might even not have had an apprentice before and doesn't know what to do. You're placing a lot of expectations on her. Plus, I wouldn't teach someone that doesn't know basic stuff about the Boiling Isles, maybe she sent you so that you could learn about the Demon Realm first. "

The young human never thought of that before. She just went on with her dream to be a witch that she just thought Eda would teach her magic and then that it would reveal some kind of secret potential for magic she had but never knew.

" Or maybe she was just to tired to work. In any case, I don't want to ruin the surprise. What I can do is tell you what everyone doesn't know. "

Luz didn't know what the surprise was but as soon as she was done with her chosen quest she would ask Eda about the Titan, and maybe how she intends to teach her.

" First of all let me tell you that magic is one of the most primal and powerful energies in the universe. Titans are beings that can wield magic, not only from their own source of magic which is their blood but also from nature and more. "

" But what about witches? "

" Witches and demons are the indirect children of a Titan, you may be wondering what separates them then, the answer is scale, quantity, and quality. Titans are able to do almost anything with magic like transform a dead planet into a haven or create the Boiling Isles. So in terms of non-magical traits, it would be strength and speed beyond what any demons could do, I can talk to any beast and witch no matter the language, I can even swim in the sea. "

" Wow. " Although the child did not get what it meant for demons to swim, she was still amazed by all the other abilities. " Does that mean you're a goddess? "

" Absolutely not. " Luz was a bit taken aback by the angry response and expression.

Titan noticed the child's sudden quiet demeanor and immediately tried to relax. " Sorry about that Luz. It's just that we don't like to be seen as gods. We may be able to create life but we see it as more like our children. We don't want to be worshiped, we just want to see our creation live freely and grow and bring something to the Demon Realm, like parents. Even if people worship us I'm not going to force them to stop, it's their choice. "

" No no it's okay, I was being too enthusiastic. " It was nice that someone this powerful saw their creations as families. Luz imagined Titan being surrounded by beasts twice her size and calling her mother, the imaginary scene was quite adorable.

" Oh, here we are. " They arrived back at the curtain, Luz went through first followed by her ido- I mean by Titan. " Tada. " The castle was there although there wasn't that shining sky that gave the castle a glowing aura so it was less showy than before. " Pretty cool right? " When Luz looked back at Titan she dropped her smile.

Titan was looking at her with uncertainty. " Luz, could you tell me everything about this wizard? "

Not asking why but still confused, she told her how she met him, she drank some tea, talking about Eda not taking her seriously, how she got the map, and when she almost crashed into Titan. The witch's reaction was only a sigh. She then walked forward to the castle, Luz ran after her soon after, worried that she might have offended Titan somehow. Titan rang the bell and without waiting she opened the doors herself and went in.

" Wait, I don't think we should go in without his permission. " What got into Titan? They were just fine until they saw the castle. As she followed she noticed how everything was dark just like the first time but it was also cold for some reason. The doors didn't close this time and the candles did not light themselves, so the sun outside was their only source of light.

" Hello, anyone here?! " Titan's voice bounced on the walls, echoing in the vast room. Silence went on for a few seconds until a voice responded.

" Yes, yes, I am here, a moment please! " Luz recognized the voice belonging to the wizard, he sounded busy like they disturbed him from doing something, there were sounds of stuff moving around.

Luz was a bit anxious that they barged in like this and wondered why Titan was like this. As if she could read her mind, Titan spoke. " The way you described this wizard, he tricked you. "

" What? "

" Aha! I told you! I am always right, listen to your monarch! "

" Wizards don't live in fancy castles or wear fancy robes, and they certainly don't talk about stars and prophecies and what else, they actually do wear pajamas or bathrobes most of the time. "

" But… the quest… "

" Wizards don't do quests, they're shady dealers, they can get you something for the right price but their services are bordering on illegal. I need one because I needed info on where I could find a puppet demon, I need them for something. "

That hurt. The quest was a lie, her destiny was a lie and she just believed it like a fool, King warned her and she ignored him. She could also not listen to what Titan

was saying but there was something about her that made it hard to not believe her.

" Luz. "

Maybe Eda was right to not take her seriously, maybe she wasn't worthy to be taught.

" Luz. "

She felt two hands on her shoulders and looked at Titan who kneeled to get on her level. Her emotional pain slightly disappeared when she saw the focus in those golden eyes as if her next words were meant for her.

" Prophecies exist but they are not told to others so they can follow a path set by someone else, they are told so that you can learn whether your life is going to be well or not so that you can decide to either change it or let it be. There is no destiny or chosen one. "

The human looked away, ashamed and sad to learn that her dreams and fantasies were not meant to be.

" You look like me when I was your age. "

She looked back up and saw very compassionate eyes and a loving smile. She felt one of the bone hands leave her shoulder and caress her cheek.

" One of my dads told me that nobody can give you what you seek and they can't give it to you unless you choose to. No one can choose you, you have to choose yourself. "

Before Luz could reflect on those words. The wizard finally showed himself up the stairs. The candles still didn't lit up, so the wizard was mostly hidden in the dark but you could still see his silhouette. " What are you doing here, chosen one? Shouldn't you be on your way to the Celestial Staff? "

" Are you a lucky charm or something? "

Luz was confused as to why the tall woman would ask the wizard such a question but realized that she was speaking to her. " I don't think so, why? "

Titan summoned in her palm a sphere of light, the sphere blasted into multiple spheres everywhere and enlightened the room. It really was a trap. The whole room was in ruins and looked old like it had been abandoned for a long time. Most shocking of all was the tentacle coming out of the wizard's back and how sunken his eyes were. The tentacle immediately tried to retreat but the witch was faster and fired a purple magic beam from a small purple circle that went behind the fake wizard and into the hallway behind.

" Aarg! "

The tentacle went limp and fell, the wizard also fell all the way to the stairs like a puppet whose strings had been cut off, something heavy could be heard falling on the floor.

" Uuuuhhhh. " The groan of an unfamiliar voice was heard coming from where the magic beam went.

Titan went to the wizard, grabbed the tentacle in one hand, and pulled it back like a whip. A large body came flying down and crashed at the bottom of the stairs. " I was looking for a puppeteer and meeting you has given me exactly what I was looking for. "

The puppeteer looked like a giant octopus with a face. The demon looked tired, its eyelids were almost closed.

King left Luz's back and went to the octopus demon and kicked it. " I am your king and I demand you to tell me where's the rest of my pastries?! "

Although Luz's mood has improved, the sight of the puppet demon brought back the fact that she totally fell for it. Again she was certain that Titan could read her mind. Titan created an illusion of her when she spoke to the warden.

" Do not underestimate me Warden for I am Luz the human, warrior of peace… NOW EAT THIS SUCKA! " She replayed it twice.

She looked so confident, so sure of herself. Titan was smiling down at her. " You seem to have already chosen but it doesn't mean that there won't be others who will let you, so don't let anyone stop you. Okay? "

Right. She was gonna become a witch, not like Azura, but like Luz the human witch. Filled with determination she smiled and nodded at Titan who helped her. " Thanks, Miss Titan. "

Titan ruffles Luz's hair. " No problem, Luz. Just be careful next time. And be careful when you address me, wouldn't want demons to hate you because of me. " She looked behind her and saw that the afternoon would soon end. " It's time for you to go home, you wanted a dangerous quest? Well here you have it, almost being tricked by one of your master's enemies and defeating him through the power of a friend. "

" We're friends? "

" We're more than that, take care of yourself, kid. Oh and one more thing. "

" And then me and Luz came back while the human charmer stayed with the fake wizard after looting the place. " Then King went upstairs, the bag he was carrying was proof that they indeed looted the place of its pastries.

" Hm, guess I own her for this one, unfortunately. " That last bit was said with displeasure. It still did not put her in her good grace but she guessed Titan could be trusted enough to not mean harm to them. But when she turned her gaze to her apprentice she had to admit that she wasn't doing a good job at communicating. Luz was on the couch drawing. Eda approached carefully. " So kid, how was your day? "

" Well, it might not have been some epic quest filled with mysteries but it was still a good quest filled with danger like you said. Eda? "

" Yeah? "

Luz looked at her teacher with a bit of guilt. " Could you tell me what a titan is? I want to know more about the Demon Realm. "

Eda smiled at the request, this could be a good start. " Sure, I'm gonna show you what a real titan looks like. Go get King. "

Luz let go of her sketchbook and happily jumped from the couch to get him. Eda peaked at the drawings and while very well drawn and realistic, denied how jealous she was that it was not her in those pages but Titan.

" I almost forgot. " Luz stopped from taking the stairs. " Titan has a message for you and a message for someone that you know. "

" Great, let's hear it then. " She said sarcastically. Might not be important anyway.

" I will come by soon, I want to meet you. "

" Oooo, it might not be possible, I'm a very busy witch, a highly wanted criminal, and a master taking care of an apprentice, too bad. " She was not gonna have a stranger, self-proclaimed titan at that, come here casually. Might as well make her wait. " Who's the next one for? "

" She didn't say. "

Well that's weird, how was she-

" It's been a while Owl Beast, I hope to see you soon. "

Luz went upstairs to get King.

Eda looked back to the drawings. It certainly wasn't jealousy anymore. The strongest witch of the Boiling Isles was worried, maybe even a tiny bit afraid of someone. This being was not a titan, heck she might not even be a demon, but she was something else entirely, something dangerous.

Emperor's Castle, Throne Room

" Everyone dismissed. "

Night came and the Golden Guard, Kikimora, and Lilith left the throne room, closing the doors on their way out. Reports have been made, meetings have been adjourned. Just another day for the Emperor until the day of the Unity. Soon he will come back to the human realm while those accursed witches wither away for the crime of existing.

Belos let the fatigue take him and slept on his throne.

" Brother. "

" Brother. "

" Brother. "

Belos awakened, he was still in the throne room but there was a strange mist in the room, accompanied by a feeling of being away, of being disconnected from his surroundings. The first thing he noticed was the heart not beating. It was odd. The second thing he noticed was the doors wide open leading to pure darkness instead of the usual hallways.

Belos stood straight and dignified on his throne ready to strike any intruder who dared enter his domain.

" Brother. "

Hearing this voice with an echo he knew that there was no intruder. The mist, the feeling of disconnection.

A young man came out of the darkness as if passing through water. He had ash-blond hair, brown eyes, a slender build, and a hooked nose. His visible ribs, sunken cheeks, and eye bags told of the state he was in, although the familiar dagger stabbed in his chest was more than enough. " Brother. "

A dream. This was a dream. He didn't have one about his brother for decades.

His own voice also echoed. " Caleb. " Philp looked at his brother with pity. He got up and descended, standing in the middle of the room, solitary.

" Why? Why did you kill me? "

" I saved you, I saved your soul from the grasp of that witch. "

" Did you? " A new voice he knew all too well appeared beside Caleb. She looked just like the first time he saw her but in a state similar to Caleb, except for the dagger.

" Evelyn. " Philp stared at her with disgust and hatred.

" You say I'm evil for being a witch but look at you. Leading the witches as their Emperor, using magic, praising the Titan. You are more of a witch than I ever was. "

" How dare you compare yourself to me?! " Belos attacked, his free arm morphing into a long brown-green sludge-like substance, and hit the two lovers, throwing them back into the darkness.

Finally, he was alone in the silence but he did not take his eyes away from the darkness.

Many Golden Guards walked from the black veil to the Emperor. All pointed their fingers at him.

" You are a wild witch. "

" You practice wild magic. "

" You are a danger to demonkind. "

" You are a danger to mankind. "

" You are a monster. "

" A monster and a witch. "

" We must protect the humans from you. "

" That is the duty you gave us. "

They surrounded him and slowly closed on to him.

" Monster. " They kept repeating. " Witch. " They kept repeating.

Each time one spoke, Belos' rage rose even further. " How dare you?! " With his vicious sludge limbs, he attacked them, one at a time destroying the floor, the walls, and the pipes. They were thrown to the walls. " I am the great Witchhunter Philp Wittebane! " They were cut in half. " You, traitors, are the monsters! " They were beaten to death. " And I killed every single one of you, I saved humanity from your corruption! " But they kept getting up, they kept walking towards him, they kept repeating.

They were only one step away from him. " I AM A HERO! " He slammed his staff on the ground, sending petrification magic to all of them.

But none were turned to stone. They all spoke at the same time.

" You can't petrify the dead. "

They all jumped on him. Belos tried to shift into his sludge form, but a sudden surge of burning energy from an unknown source sapped him of his strength. The mass of Golden Guards grabbed him, they tore away his mask and his staff, and despite his struggle, they managed to place him back on his throne. They separated to make way for a new figure who came from the darkness. Belos could not believe his eyes.

" You are a witch. " Philp Wittebane said.

Philp walked between the Golden Guards. " It is my duty to put down evil when I see it. " The human said.

Belos was too shocked and angry to form a response.

" Emperor of the witches, " When the human climbed the stairs his form shifted into another individual. The individual that stood before him was the False Titan. " You have been judged to be a threat to humanity. "

Belos couldn't believe it, a demon, a fallen, corrupted human dared to judge him as a threat to humanity! Belos swung his arm to attack her.

… But there was nothing.

No Golden Guard, no destroyed walls or pipes, no False Titan. The arm he swung had his staff tightly in his hand, his mask still tethered to his face, the heart above him beating.

A dream… He already realized it was one and yet it felt so real. A lucid dream.

… No, not a dream. No matter who he faced in his 200 years of life none produced such a thing. This was a warning.

When the sun rises tomorrow, the Boiling Isles will learn that the Emperor has a new criminal, worth more than the Owl Lady.

Outside the castle, on a cliff

The Titan of the Light was overlooking the castle, glyphs around her disappearing, signs that she teleported here seconds ago. Man, she was mischievous. She was satisfied but there was no joy in doing this, nor guilt or doubt about her methods.

" Oh, my Titan! That was insane! "

Titan looked behind her, Adegast was laid out on the ground sweating like he did a marathon on the whole Titan, he was freaking out. " I can't believe we went against the Emperor, did I leave any trace? No, it doesn't matter he's still gonna know it was me, I'm gonna die! Oh, Titan! "

" Hey. "

Adegast focused back on the witch who while he was distracted by his own worries had walked to him.

" Do you have them? "

Adegats was silent for a bit before he gulped. " Made them like you wanted, it wasn't easy. " He walked toward a pile of puppets, Derealization Potions to help Adegast's poison, and a few pages of script. Belos' mind was protected but Adegast didn't need to get inside his head as Titan already knew not everything but enough to set the stage, so she wrote down what Adegast had to do and say.

He went through the mess and presented before the witch two blank puppets. " I don't know why you need puppets with so many adjustments, and I don't care. Are we done? "

One finger spell circle and the puppets were floating beside her as she started to walk away. " As long as you don't do anything bad you're good. "

" If only I had that human, I would've gotten Eda already and eaten them all. " Adegast didn't seem to understand who he was dealing with and let his big mouth talk.

A pillar of fire rose all around him, it lasted a few seconds before the fire was gone. In those seconds Adegast could have sworn he saw eyes in this fire with mouths growling at him closing on to him, so close his skin was almost burning. Even after, Adegast didn't dare to move. Titan didn't move at all, back facing the puppet demon, and yet her fire glyph on the ground below the giant octopus didn't convince him she wasn't responsible. " Then it's a good thing you didn't. "

Not taking any chances, Adegast ran in the opposite direction. Now alone Titan took one last peak at the castle.

She had two objectives: payback for all the fear, stress, and guilt she felt in her time against Belos, and to bring his full attention to her, sparring Luz from his grasp as much as possible. The time pools were necessary but it didn't mean that Luz had to compare herself to Belos or even Philip if she didn't know the human of the past whom she admired for walking the same path as her turned into an evil delusional despot hellbent on genocide.

She failed the former. Despite the act she just made with many risks taken, the precision she and Adegast used, and the focus they spent, the tyrant did not doubt his methods or felt an ounce of fear and showed no hesitation to strike any who opposed him, even his brother. She had to give it to him, nothing could stop or even slow him in pursuing his goals. Truly, Belos could not be underestimated, he may not be as strong as her but if left alone he was as dangerous as the Archivist.

She wondered what did that make her, she who holds both power and the will to kill without remorse those she despised. The Time Traveler hoped that in her journey here she would heal just a scrap of mental health left within her and soothe her wounded mind.

Or she could become the biggest threat to the Boiling Isles.

AN: Quick task for readers: If Canon, post Season 3 or older, Luz could talk to the Titan again and ask questions, wether about magic or Titans or Papa Titan's life or anything, what would be her questions?
