Chapter 8: The Phony King of Mercia:
Chuck Cluck's Story:
Everyone celebrated. "To Rob," says Bow, "the one that will bring down Mordred!"
Bow: Oh, the world will sing of a Mercian King
A thousand years from now
And not because he passed some laws
Or had that lofty brow
We're sad about the fate of Good King Mufasa
And sad to say he's dead
And now we have to slave away
For that good-for-nothin' Mordred
Incredible as he is inept
Whenever the history books are kept
They'll call him the phony king of Mercia
A pox on the phony king of Mercia
He sits alone on a giant throne
Pretendin' he's the king
A little tyke who's rather like
A puppet on a string
And he throws an angry tantrum
If he cannot have his way
And anytime he fails
He'll be suckin' on his tail
You see, he doesn't want to play
Too late to be known as Mordred I
He's sure to be known as Mordred the worst
A pox on that phony king of Mercia
While he taxes us to pieces
And he robs us of our bread
King Mufasa's crown keeps slippin' down
Around that pointed head
Ah! But while there is a merry man
In Rob's wily pack
We'll find a way to make him pay
And steal our money back
A minute before he knows we're there
Ol' Rob'll snatch his underwear
The breezy and uneasy king of Mercia
The snivellin' grovellin'
Measly weasly
Blabberin' jabberin'
Gibberin' jabberin'
Plunderin' plottin'
Wheelin' dealin'
Mordred, that phony King of Mercia!
Yeah!
. . .
Meanwhile, at Mordred's castle!
High Sheriff: Too late to be known as Mordred I
He's sure to be known as Mordred the worst!
"Let me try," says Dave.
Dave: The snivellin' grovellin'...
Then Mordred appears. "Glorious... most magnificent..." says a very frightened Dave.
"No, no, you're doing it all wrong," says the High Sheriff, "it's..." He then sees Mordred.
"What is this," asks Mordred.
"It's... it's all the rage," says the High Sheriff.
"Everyone in the kingdom's singing it," says Dave.
"Well, then, I think it's time I show everyone my opinion of their music," says Mordred.
. . .
So, Mordred started having everyone captured... even me!
To Be Continued
