Tittle: Forever and Always
The first sharp sting of jealousy that Ginny felt was on Christmas Eve when she saw Harry kissing Cho under the mistletoe. A deep rage filled her that day. Ginny knew that Cho didn't love Harry, not the way she did. She was only with him because he was the chosen one. Cho hadn't loved Harry for years, from the very beginning. Ginny hated when others took from her. Harry was meant to be hers and no one else's.
Gathering the ingredients was easy. Ashwinder eggs, rose thorns, moonstone, mother of pearl, Ginny could get all those ingredients from Hogwarts' potion storage, she would just need to make sure not to get caught by Snape.
The brewing wasn't easy and it took time, months, but Ginny could wait. She spent her days watching Harry and Cho get snuggly together; each time she wanted to curse Cho. She didn't deserve him. Ginny didn't understand how Harry couldn't see it, that he could do so much better than Cho, that he could have Ginny and only Ginny.
The months passed slowly for Ginny, but when April came around, the potion was done. She pricked her finger and allowed a few drops of her blood to fall into the potion before bottling it up. The only thing left to do was to find a way to get Harry to drink the potion.
Amortentia was a strong love potion and she knew she needed to do it in stages to make it seem that Harry's love for her was natural; a couple of drops here and there in his food or drink and within a week or two he wouldn't be able to keep his eyes off of her. Ginny smiled at the thought that it wouldn't be long until she was Harry Potter's girlfriend, soon followed by being his fiance, and then finally his wife.
It was during a particularly hot day in Herbology, Harry ran his forearm across his forehead to swipe off the sweat that had built up before going back to repotting the Puffapod plant into a bigger pot so it would have room to grow.
Ginny saw her chance.
"Would you like some of my lemonade?" Ginny offered Harry her bottle that she had been carrying around for days, waiting for the perfect moment.
"Thanks." Harry smiled as he accepted the bottle and took a large sip before handing it back to Ginny.
Ginny couldn't help but smile as Harry drank the infected lemonade, the sourness of the drink covering the taste of the potion. Harry had no idea what she'd just done, and he would never know.
Ginny was right, it took time for the potion to work. Every day, Ginny would offer Harry a drink or some kind of sweet, and each time Harry accepted without question, and each time Ginny's heart would race as she watched Harry consume the potion.
Two weeks had passed since Ginny started giving Harry the potion when she heard that Harry broke things off with Cho. She wanted to jump up and down with glee. Her plan was working and it wouldn't be long now.
Throughout the summer holiday, Ginny made sure to send Harry lots of sweets, and by the time he came to the Burrow, Ginny could tell the potion had been working. Harry couldn't keep his eyes off of her.
Ginny allowed a few months to go by before she upped the dosage, going from five drops to ten. She knew it was risky, but it was something that had to be done if she ever wanted Harry to make a move.
A couple more months went by and Ginny was considering upping the potion again when it happened. Harry kissed her. The kiss was incredible; it was everything she ever dreamed about, from the first moment she heard about the famous Harry Potter. Ginny knew, as Harry embraced her and sought her out for comfort, that she would never let him go; he was hers forever and always.
