Chapter 2: The Diamond Ring:
Nancy's POV:
I was at Pop's, taking a look at the diamond ring.
"Nancy," says Kevin, "I've been saying your name more often than a gay man should."
"Sorry," I said, "I was just trying to figure out a case."
"Y'know, most people don't work on Thanksgiving," says Kevin, "the only reason Pops is is because this is an eating establishment. He works here in case there are families who need a place to eat."
"I don't have time for a break," I said, "I'm trying to catch the Thanksgiving Thief. I found this diamond ring."
"Well, let me take a look at it," says Kevin. He then does so. "Nancy... this ring belongs to Veronica."
"What," I asked.
"Come to think of it... her family has problems on Thanksgiving," says Kevin.
"But could Veronica really be capable of this," I asked.
"I'm sure she wouldn't," says Kevin.
. . .
I then decided to sneak into Lodge Manor. It's pretty easy to get lost in this place.
. . .
I finally got out of the hallway, and I saw the Lodges... and they were getting ready for Thanksgiving. "I can't believe we're finally having Thanksgiving together," says Veronica.
Well, she's clean. Then I saw someone, carrying some dishes. I then chased after them... but they disappeared and left the dishes behind. I then picked them up and the Lodges saw me. "Uh-oh," I said.
. . .
"So, you see," I said, "your security system will show you the Thanksgiving Thief."
"Nancy, you're chasing no one," says Veronica.
"What," I asked. I then looked and the screens show me chasing no one. "It could be a ghost or a vampire." Just what I needed, another supernatural criminal.
