Final chapter :D. Also a lot shorter than the other ones. Reason why it took so long is because I'm a lazy mothefucker, but aren't we all?
Later on during the night, with the stars in the sky and the night creatures whispering to each other, a small group of rangers surrounded a campfire, listening to Gilan and Will as they told the story of the bandits. Halt would occasionally get a sarcastic word in, but he was otherwise preoccupied with getting Crowley's wounds wrapped up and cleaned, doing a better job than the rushed one he had done earlier.
"The moral of the story," Gilan concluded their tale, "Is that you can always count on us to save our commandants arse."
Crowley snorted. "Halt told me you didn't even believe that something was wrong. You thought it was all for the games. If anyone saved me it was Halt."
"Again," Halt said under his breath, but loud enough for Crowley to hear, which he did.
"Oh don't flatter yourself," he said. "Besides, I've saved your life just as many times as you've saved mine, maybe even more."
"I doubt that," Halt replied, not looking up from his task of cleaning blood out of Crowley's hair. "You always get yourself into trouble which you can't get out of."
"And you don't?" Leander, who was sitting across the campfire questioned.
Halt shrugged. "I get myself into trouble, but I can always get out of it without help," he said with dignity.
"Sure you can," Leander said, disbelief obvious in his voice.
"Where are the bandits now anyway," Berrigan asked, "You said you brought them back with you."
"We did," Will replied, "They're over there." He pointed to a tree on the other side of the gathering ground, which was barely visible in the darkness, but Berrigan could make out the silhouette of people tied to it. He also barely saw the outline of a ranger leaning against the tree next to them.
"Samdash is watching them," Will said.
"That reminds me," Crowley said, "I'll have to find someone to swap with him. Can't keep him waiting there all night."
"Yes you can," Halt replied quickly. Crowley gave him a look.
"No," he said, "I can't."
"I'll do it," Berrigan said. Crowley looked at him gratefully.
"Thanks," he replied. "Probably give it another hour or two and then swap over." Berrigan nodded in agreement.
I have finally finished with this stupid God damn fic. I really hoped you enjoyed it and I know I haven't replied to all the comments that I've gotten for this but thank you to everyone that has sent them in, thank you for everything giving kudos and bookmarks and just thank you to everyone who reads it and enjoys it, it means a lot to me.
This entire fic was mainly meant for a joke, and I am currently working on a much MUCH more serious one, that I am on the stages of planning. Plus I have other fic ideas I will one day eventually get to.
Also fun fact: That random scar Halt has that I bought up in the tenth chapter, I have my own headcanon bakcstory thingy behing that.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading this, it was fun to write, even though it was just a whole bunch of nonsense.
