Chapter 3: The Darlop:

Nancy's POV:

I took the claw to Salem. Salem takes a good at the claw. "I believe it might be a darlop," says Salem.

"I never heard of it," I said.

"That's because you won't find it in any book, movie, or anything," says Salem, "they're mischievous creatures that like to cause trouble and leave someone else to take the blame."

"Then that's what I'm looking for," I said, "do you know where I can find one?"

"Well, if it was at the department store, then maybe you should check the cellar," says Salem.

. . .

I was then in the department store cellar.

"So far, things seem normal," I said. I then saw something running past me. I then chased after it.

. . .

I chased after the creature. I then caught it. It looked like a cross between an elf and a satyr. "Are you a darlop," I asked.

"Yes," says the Darlop.

"Why did you steal all the stuff in the store," I asked.

The Darlop then looks at me. "Ugghh! Every time! This is why you humans never heard of us! Because we made that the case! Every time someone does something they shouldn't have done, who gets the blame? 'It wasn't me, that creature framed me'! Because of that, the other supernatural creatures think that's what we do! Guess what, darlops don't cause trouble and leave someone with the blame! We help businesses! Why do you think this store's such a success?"

"So... you didn't steal anything," I asked.

"If I did, don't you think there'd be bags of it somewhere here," asks the Darlop.

"I didn't think of that," I said, "did you see anything?"

"I did see that girl take that stuff," says the Darlop, "maybe she was possessed. There is a ghost who haunts the place."

"I didn't think of that," I said, "I'll look into this. And sorry."

"Just promise me you tell those other creatures what darlops really do."

I then walked away.

To Be Continued

Darlops are made up for this. There are no stories about darlops. In the next chapter, Nancy talks to the ghost.
