Chapter 2: The Zoo:
Nancy's POV:
We were at the zoo.
"This is where they were taken," says Owen.
"Who would take them," asks Bess.
"That's what we gotta find out," I said.
"Maybe it was a hellhound," says Ned.
"Or the ghost of a cat lady," says Shaun.
"Or maybe it was a witch," says George.
"Or an African demon," says Bess.
"What are you guys talking about," asks Owen.
"Ever seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer," I asked.
"No," says Owen, "why?"
"Because it's about us," I said, "mind if I take a look inside the cage?"
"Well, all the wild cats are missing, so I don't see why not," says Owen.
. . .
I was searching the cage. So far, no clues. I then found something strange. It was an ID. It belongs to someone named Zoe Spelio.
. . .
"Zoe Spelio," asks Owen, "I should've known! She's always talking about freeing the animals!"
"Where can we find her," I asked.
. . .
We were about to leave the zoo, when we ran into Chuck. "Oh hey," I said, "what brings you here?"
"On Kwanzaa, my family likes to watch the African animals," says Chuck.
"Your family's got you doing this, huhh," I asked.
"Actually... I like Kwanzaa," says Chuck.
"Oh... we gotta go," I said.
. . .
We then found Zoe's house. I knocked on the door and Zoe answered. "Who are you guys," asks Zoe.
. . .
We talked to Zoe. "Wait, you guys think I freed those cats," asks Zoe.
"You've been wanting to free the animals," I said.
"I've been wanting them to go free in the wild," says Zoe, "I'd never let them loose in the city, that's dangerous for them and the people they could hunt down! Do I look like Terry Thompson?"
"Who was he," asks Ned.
"Look him up," says Zoe.
"But we found your ID," I said.
"I've been looking for that," says Zoe, "the picture is not a good look."
"Sorry to bother you," I said.
"If you really want to find answers, I hear Owen Harris has something to do with it," says Zoe.
"He's the one who hired us," I said, "we're just going back to the zoo." We then left.
To Be Continued
