Summary: Lily Luna Potter is doing the running commentary for the Quidditch game against Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.
Title: The Game is On
Lily Potter stands at the mic, overlooking the Quidditch pitch. This is her first time doing the running commentary for the game Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor; she is very excited. Her eyes are darting between the players, watching as the Hufflepuff team intercepts the Quaffle from the Gryffindor Chasers mid passing.
"What an incredible move by Aldeton! I bet the Gryffindors didn't see that one coming!" Lily shouts into the mic. "Look at him go, refusing to be put in a Parkin's Pincer. He dives down, passing the Quaffle to Fiera. Look at the Hufflepuff team working together, the Beaters protect Fiera as she makes her way to the goal."
Lilly looks ahead, watching as her older brother, James, gets ready to defend the hoops.
"The Quaffle is launching! The Quaffle goes through! Another ten points to Hufflepuff!" Lily announces, watching as her brother fails to protect the hoops. "That puts Hufflepuff one hundred to twenty. This doesn't look good for the Gryffindors. This is not a good final year for you, James."
"LILY POTTER!" McGonagall groans over the screaming crowd.
Lily looks over at the Headmistress who's sitting beside her.
"Well, it isn't," Lily says under her breath before continuing with the game. "The Gryffindors are refusing to give up even though all hope seems to be lost. Can they pull it together? What do you think, Professor? Do the Gryffindors still have a shot at winning?" Lily watches as McGonagall shoots her a dirty look.
"Seems like the professor doesn't have a comment. Let's get back to the game, then. I see Daniel Flicher. He has been on the Hufflepuff team as a Beater since his third year. He is winding up his arm, the Bludger is coming at full speed. It's getting closer, closer and… with a swing he sends the Bludger flying through the air, causing James to miss defending the hoops, once again. Hufflepuff is now up one hundred and ten!" Lilys clicks the counter before yelling, "COME ON, JAMES! A TWO YEAR OLD CAN DO BET–"
"Miss Potter!" McGonagall interrupts her.
Lily smiles at her professor before returning to the mic. "Looks like the Gryffindors are calling for a five minute timeout. A wise choice if you ask me. They have to pull their act together if they have any chance at winning. In the meantime, let's turn back to our favorite Headmistress. Tell me Professor, what would you do if you were out in the field? Would you prefer to be on the offensive or defensive?"
"Do you just refuse to behave, Miss Potter?" McGonagall asks, raising her eyebrow.
"I like to think I get my charm from my dad." Lily smiles and she swears she sees a corner of her professor's mouth twitching up a little.
"Looks like the Gryffindors are back up, I wonder what they are planning? The game is on again and I can't believe it. The Snitch is in view! Both Seekers are racing after the golden ball, side by side, who will get it first, I wonder? Both Seekers are diving down… down… down… They are getting pretty close to the ground, but both are refusing to rise up. It is coming down to the crunches between them as several blows are being dealt from both sides. Seekers are flying up!" Lily yelps as everyone ducks to avoid the flying players.
"That's a close call. Both Seekers are still neck and neck, or should I say broom to broom? Both of them reach out for the Snitch. Both of them are so close, it could be either one of them and… and… and Gryffindor caught the Snitch!" Lily screams along with the crowd. "I don't believe it! With one hundred and fifty points, the Gryffindors are one hundred and seventy to one hundred and ten. Gryffindor wins!" Lily announces, turning off her mic.
