Chapter 6: Kwanzaa:

Nancy's POV:

"I know it was you... Owen!"

Turns out, Owen Harris was the one who took the wild cats all along!

"I guess I should've seen this coming," says Owen.

"But why did you hire me," I asked.

"I figured if I hired you, you could think I was someone you can trust," says Owen.

"So, why'd you take the cats," I asked.

"Do you know how much money they're worth," asks Owen, "they were going to make me rich, and I could retire to Cuba!"

"And you faked your death," I said.

"Tyler was confused when I handed him that unloaded gun," says Owen, "and to him, I randomly collapsed on the floor. I also had some make up on to look like a bullet wound."

"But you didn't count on Det. Tamura noticing the body going missing," I said.

"Yeah, but he was the only one who did," says Det. Tamura, "go figure."

"Where are they," I asked.

"What's the point in telling you when I'm going to kill you," says Owen. He then aims a gun at me. "And by the way, this is loaded!"

He was prepared to shoot me, but then Det. Tamura came in and shot Owen's arm. "Oh, looks like you've been shot," says Det. Tamura.

. . .

The police were taking Owen in. "We have got to start considering the possibility of someone faking their frame up," says Ned.

"Yeah, it feels like every time someone does that, we never think of it," says Shaun.

"I found the cats," says Bess, "and you should take a look!"

We then saw the wild cats. Two parents and two cubs. They were a family. And that's when Shaun and I looked at each other.

. . .

As soon as Dad entered the room, "Habari Gani," Shaun and I both said.

"What's all this," asks Dad.

"You were right," I said, "we're a family and we need to be together!"

"Sorry Dad," says Shaun.

Dad then smiled at us. "Your Mother would be proud," says Dad, "so, did you solve the mystery?"

"Yeah, we have something to tell you..." I began.
