I wrote this story during the pandemic, so way before Gen 4 characters and the reboot seasons came out. If you look through my past stories you will find an unfinished version of this story, and now I plan on fully releasing it. I have made updates and little changes to the story that will hopefully make the story better. If there is enough likes and reviews, I might do a 2.0 version with characters from Gen 4 as well.
I have to give a shoutout to DrakeyM ( s/11726530/4/CIRCLE) as his story helped with the inspiration here all those years ago. I would also suggest to those wanting to understand the stories fully to maybe look up the concept (BrantSteele has a whole simulator so maybe use that.) There will be no movie spoilers here, and the end will be pretty different from the movie (except for one small detail) so you won't be spoiled here.
Prologue
We see a series of humanoid aliens working, in front of 50 forced participants all standing up, but in a sleep-like faze. In around 30 minutes, the aliens would leave and enter the commandment part of their ship. A little after that, the participants would begin to wake up. One of the aliens, with the nametag of G-79H2, talked to another one with a tag of A-1930
"It seems the scouting ships have begun going across the border." said G-79H2, in his own distinct non-understandable accent to the human ear.
"Good" stated A-1930, "It was a matter of time before our ships would reach every first world country. The populations have diminished down considerably."
"Good...good. By the way. What's the correlation among this next set of participants?"
"They are a part of a competition show called "Total Drama"" stated A-1930. "Lots of friendships and hatred between them all. The host of the show Chris McClain already won his round of the experiment, winning out against some sort of super fan of his work."
"Lucky. These are all teens right?"
"Basically, the oldest people is are 23 maybe 24. Which takes out the age argument."
"Hmm. There have been many of these without a significant age gap but this would be the first one I've observed."
"Have seen one. It gets complicated. Pretty interesting."
"Let's finish up. Oh and get the blend cameras working to send back to Homebase. You did their pockets right?
"Everything has been put in storage."
"Good. And remember, these humans deserve no sympathy."
Chapter 1
Ugh
Sky awoke to see many of the former castmates of the show that got her famous. She has had a pretty successful career for herself, making it to the Olympics right after the series. While her time there wasn't successful, she still had the cameras around her throughout the event, and she has become a bit of a cult figure in Canada as she prepares for the next event.
"...Hello, anyone awake."
She was about to take a step off the circle she was standing on before another voice spoke up.
"Don't step off that plate."
"What? Who is this?" asked Sky, not seeing who was talking.
"Trent. Now unless you want to end up like the girls on your left."
Sky turned and gasped as she saw the two besties, Katie and Sadie, laying on the ground unconscious. They were a part of the first season of the show, and while not as popular as their castmates, they still lived a relatively famous life before leading up here.
"Oh...oh no...Are they okay?"
"I don't know. I saw Katie rush to Sadie who was already on the ground, but she was zapped by this…thing here in the center."
Trent points at this dark sphere placed into the floor. It is almost like a bigger phone camera, sticking out like a sore thumb. Sky sees this, then looks down. Everyone is standing on these pink circles. They felt almost warm on her feet, as she slightly moved her feet in and around these circles. She then again looks at the twins again.
"Oh my god. I really hope they are okay. Have they moved?"
"Nope. No blood, but no breathing either."
As soon as Trent finished talking, another person woke up.
"Gosh. My head."
"Don't move Harold." said Trent. "Trust me here."
People started waking up quicker and quicker now. Very quickly, people got confused and asked around seeing dimly lit faces.
"Hello?"
"What's going on?"
"Bridge?"
"Geoff, I'm right here!"
"Where are we?"
"Al?"
"I'm right behind you, my chica."
"Everyone, don't move!"
Beth was the last person to wake up, and she saw her closest friend in the game.
"OMG Lindsay! It's been so long sin-"
Before she could finish, Beth stepped off her plate, which caused the laser to blast her in the heart, pushing her back about a few 5 feet. Lindsay was the first to scream as everyone gasped or yelled.
"Is she dead!?" asked Dave, rather bluntly.
"It...It looks like it? She isn't moving at all" said Topher, who was standing right next to Beth. Her glasses were shattered on the floor as people who played with her and were friends with her started to get visibly stressed, especially Lindsay who was her best friend for so long. Both were known after the show for being inseparable, and even if they grew distant as time started to move, they still were extremely close.
"Guys this is obviously something by Chris," said Duncan. "We will all be fine."
Suddenly, Beth and the un-noticed bodies of Katie and Sadie were wisked out of the room. Almost like a strong gust of wind pushed them away
"…you were saying?" asked Dave. "I was almost killed by at least fifteen things by Chris in my season. But he wouldn't remove the people hurt like this!"
"Hurt or worse..." commented Mike close to both Duncan and Dave.
"You're right." said Cameron. "There would be cameras everywhere if this was his project."
Sure enough, everyone looked around to see no cameras in the room whatsoever. If anything the room is so dark that if any cameras were there, it'd barely capture anything. And the camera looking sphere in the middle clearly shot a killer laser
"Well damn" said Brick off to the side.
"This is different then," said Heather. "This isn't a game."
The machine in the middle started to beep, emitting a red light with every beep..
"What in sha-hell is going on" said Lightning
"Game Over man! We're done for!" yelled Owen
"Shut up you fat bimbo!" yelled Max. "This could be a timer to let us out!
"You really think the red beeping laser thing is gonna let us go?" said Scarlett sarcastically.
Everyone started to panic and argue, causing a sense of chaos, a sense of no control. In one of the corners, Geoff and Bridgette started to talk.
"Babe if anything happens….I love you."
"Don't say that. We will be fine. I love you too."
They blew a kiss, not willing to risk jumping to each other's plate.
Beep Beep Beep
"I just wanted to win some money on a show, not die!" yelled Noah.
"Everyone just stay calm and we might be okay." shouted Gwen.
"We are going to die dude!" yelled Owen! "Why should we be calm!"
BeepBeepBeepBeep-
…The beeping stopped suddenly.
"Huh. Well that was a load of-"
Before Jasmine could finish, a beam came out slashing poor Leonard in the chest, while he was trying to put a spell of protection on himself.
"AHHHHHHH" screamed Anne Maria, who stood to the right of Leonard. Everyone stood shocked as one of their fellow castmates just got blasted. Like the formerly dead, Leonard was pulled quickly from eye-sight from the rest of the participants.
"Oh god. Oh god." said DJ, shaking
"So are we supposed to stand here and not to be randomly zapped." said Sugar in her southern drawl
"There has to be a system for it not to be random." thought Cameron out loud.
"People, people, let's not fret," Alejandro said in his flirtatious way. "We will get out of this one way or another" The Spanish fellow was getting looks from Bridgette, Leshawna, Noah, and Tyler among others, the speech has not calmed nerves.
"Dude, you're not well liked here. Just be quiet for a minute." whispered Topher, standing to the left of Alejandro
"What are you suggesting, my amigo? They are going to try to kill me?"
"No no no no. I would never." said Topher. "I'm just saying you shouldn't be making these inspiring speeches."
"I agree with Khakis over here, just shut up!" said Leshawna, who was especially hurt by Alejandro's treachery. Everyone started to yell and argue.
"He just died right there dude! I can't, I can't!" yelled Anne Maria
"What did I do deserve this!" yelled Max
"My bestie!" cried out Lindsey
"WAIT! Listen. I might have figured this thing out." Cameron screamed over everyone. It was loud enough to at least shut down yelling for a little bit.
"Spit it out Cam" yelled Lightning.
"You see those triangles. They move around to each person's circle. Now, everyone notice that you have some type of bracelet on your hand! Point it at someone"
Everyone looks down to their wrist, where a black bracelet with its own blinking red light. And sure enough, each person's arrow pointed to where they wanted it to point.
"I'm making the theory that you have to do some sort of motion to potentially control the arrow!
"So we are voting on who dies?" asked Harold, who's now outstretching his hand to test the theory.
"I think so," said Cameron. "Alright everyone. If you want to test this out-"
"Are you really suggesting we kill someone?!" asked Scarlett.
"Well…."
No one responded. The only way to test this out was to point at a person….right?
"What about the already….dead spots?" said Zoey, glancing across the room.
"Nah the arrows just skip right over them." said Anne Maria, who watches her's pass Leonard's empty plate. Silence filled the room again.
"...Scarlett did try to kill us." stated Shawn truthfully.
"I was never going to kill anyone besides Chris and the show. If you guys didn't just panic…"
"We were running for our lives, honey," said Sugar.
"Look for me, I won't vote. It is just too inhumane for me to think I should kill someone." said Gwen, who had a lot of enemies in the room.
"You do realize you cheated on your boyfriend, broke up with the new boy, and during all of that you screwed over your new boyfriend's girl" said Justin, having seen all of Gwen's past digressions.
"Well I...look this is a lot bigger than that."
"You think" mumbled Trent
"This isn't us being teens anymore Trent! This is us choosing who lives."
At this point the beeping began once again
"Oh god not again!" yelled Owen
"Again, if anyone puts their fist out they put in a vote." said Cameron, but even he was questioning his theory.
"What happens if it isn't true?" asked Heather
"Well then we randomly get shot" responded Eva.
Everyone started to think about what to do. Do they risk the potential of death or do they (potentially) kill someone.
"Look yall, I'm voting for Alejandro." said Leshawna.
This started a panic and everyone started to yell again.
"Pequena Perra!" yelled out Alejandro
"I agree with Al, you can't just say that." said the frantic Scarlett
"Shut up honey." yelled out Sugar. "You almost killed me already."
Now everyone was panicking, as the beeping continued. Duncan hasn't said anything after realizing this is not a part of some show. Inside though, the brash Duncan was trying to figure out what to do. He had a few people who were being pushed up which meant he had some time before he might be considered next. He was perhaps the most disliked person in this room. This same thought process went through several people's heads, all wondering on what to do. We see some fists being held out, but by who?

Reasons For Elimination:
Katie and Sadie: In the writing process, I needed to explain the death factor. The movie did something different from this, using a sound as the first people woke up. I have a general idea on why I think aliens shouldn't give them an out like that but I'll explain that in the end. There were a couple BFF pairs I could've done this with, but I thought the storylines I could've done with K&S could be done with other better pairs.
Beth: K&S but with everyone else seeing it. Really there isn't a ton I could do with Beth without starting a whole new storyline with her since she is finished really. If I did an actual season, I'd do something, but for now she has to die early.
Leonard: Poor poor Leonard. Needed to explain what happens when no one votes, and Leonard is more comic relief in a very serious story. Love him though
