Summary:
My first crossover event. Yay.
Charlie hosts the Hazbin Hotel's first Pride celebration and gets everyone to join in with the finishing touches to kick off the grand party. Who shows up to help?
Just a little one shot. Everyone interacting and being together basically.
Notes:
Just to let you all know, Luz and Amity have been properly aged up. They are about 18 here.
And this is after the battle with Adam. So, there's no extermination to worry about.
I hope you all enjoy reading. Have fun out there this month but be safe. These are uncertain times that will hopefully, sooner rather than later, be behind us. Peace and Love, hellions.
Pride In Hell - 2024
"Okay," Charlie called out, "move it up a little on the right." The demon princess waved her right hand in tandem with her instructions. Around her the hotel was busier than it had been in weeks. They'd welcomed several special guests this morning for the rebuilt Hotel's first big celebration.
Following her orders the rainbow banner that was being strung up in the foyer moved slightly upwards. The shorter human girl, one of the special guests, strained to reach far enough. She leaned dangerously off one side of a ladder as the corner of the banner was repositioned. "What about now, Charlie? Is this okay?"
The demon cocked her head to the side and then the other. Charlie gleefully clapped her hands with a bright smile. "Yep! That'll do."
Both of the banner holders gave relieved sighs. A tall strong looking blonde woman quickly nailed her corner of the banner on the opposite side and the younger girl attempted to do the same. Unfortunately, she appeared to have overreached a step.
Unbalanced on the high ladder her foot slipped. "Whoa! Whoa!" The hammer fell. Half the banner fell. The brown-haired teen fell.
She was saved from a really bad landing by the arms of a lithe, brown-furred, cat girl. "Careful, Luz," the raspy voice caused the other to look up with a sheepish grin. "I'm the one that can land on her feet."
The other two women hurried over to make sure their younger friend was okay. "Thank Satan," Charlie breathed out as the girl was placed safely back on the ground. "Good catch, Catra."
"It's the tail that allows her to be so agile, you know." The other blonde jumped the last few rungs of her ladder and came up to them, wrapping up the magicat from behind. "It can do some very useful things."
Catra blushed so deep it was visible under her fur. "It's for balance," she tried to say under her breath.
"Yeah, tell me about it," Vaggie agreed coming up to them with a box of more decorations in her arms. "Tails can be very useful. Right, hun?" She leaned up to peck Charlie on the cheek, smirking deviously.
It was Charlie's turn to blush as her already red cheeks darkened. Several pairs of eyes turned in her direction. "You got a tail, really?" The younger teen exclaimed.
"And horns," Vaggie added. Charlie went rigid as Luz got starry eyed.
"Not helping, Vaggs," The princess narrowed her eyes at her teasing girlfriend. "It's nothing, just my demon form, really." She tried to convince the others with a nervous wave of her hand. Catra and Adora shared a knowing grin, but Luz looked rather disappointed she wasn't going to get a demonstration.
Vaggie chuckled but relented to the silent pleading Charlie was doing. "Anyway, we're glad that you and your friends could be here for our first Pride celebration. Charlie insisted the hotel have one when I explained what it was." The angel said, successfully diverting everyone's attention.
Adora shrugged, her arm slung around her partner's shoulders now. "Catra loves parties. Even if she won't admit it. We were glad to get the invitation and thanks to Lucifer's magic it was easy to cross over this time."
From the parlor the King of Hell heard his name and popped his head over the back of one of the couches. He and Camila Noceda were having a very long conversation about their headstrong daughters. He gave the group of girls an awkward thumbs up.
"Yeah, I heard that the Gems and Steven got magically diverted and wound up in Xadia with Callum, Rayla, and Ezran of all places." Adora face palmed with a groan. "So, they're celebrating with Amaya and the others."
Luz straightened her beanie from the fall earlier and grinned as Amity came up beside her. "Sorry about the last time, Adora. We didn't mean for the door to open into the Swampy Toes of the Titan."
Catra hissed at the memory of the very damp trek on their last visit to the Boiling Isles. Charlie couldn't hold back her laugh as she handed off a hammer and nail to Razzle as a goopy purple hand reached up from the ground to hold the loose banner in place while the little demon goat nailed it securely.
All of a sudden though Catra's fur stood on end. Her ears twitched and she looked around with her guard immediately going up. A half second later a radio-filtered voice popped out of the shadows. "Now, now, ladies we won't get any decorating done if you're standing around all day like tweeting birds." Alastor instantly materialized with a burst of radio static right next to Catra and made the touchy magicat jump back several feet with a warning hiss. She had a hard enough time tolerating that from Glimmer.
Luz and Amity also jumped away, neither used to Alastor's creepiness.
Trying to play off the sudden tension that seemed to follow Alastor like one of his shadows Charlie stepped in-between the Radio Demon and everyone else. "You're right, Alastor," Charlie nodded to him with a strained smile. "But we also have to be good hosts and be friendly about it."
"Hmm," Alastor narrowed his eyes, but didn't argue with the princess. "Of course, darling, you're talking to the one and only Radio Demon. I'm the top rated radio host in Hell. Sinners are just dying to be on my show."
Vaggie rolled her single eye with a huff. "You're the only radio host in Hell."
"Yeeaaah... why is that?" Luz wondered as she suspiciously narrowed her eyes at Alastor.
"Ahh, we don't really need to get into that," Charlie said hurriedly. "Alastor, why don't you go see if the others need any help outside?"
Adora watched the taller grinning demon with a raised brow. Then she smirked. "I think Scorpia was just getting the tables set up in the back. She could probably use your help." The blonde crossed her arms over her chest with satisfaction as she watched him freeze for a second. Then he covered it all with a twirl of his microphone.
"I don't think that will be necessary." Alastor gritted out with his eye twitching in annoyance and he melted back into the shadows once more.
"Okay, that guy is really creeeepy." Luz said with a weirded out expression on her face.
"That's just Alastor for you," Vaggie shook her head, "but he does have a point. These decorations won't take care of themselves." She hefted the box in her hands once more.
"Alright," Adora said, stepping up to direct the others. She grabbed several different Pride colored streamers from the box and handed them to Catra. Then reached in for more. Pictures and posters of encouragement and affirmation came out next, drawn in childish crayon. "I'll take care of the kid's drawings."
Charlie blushed and pouted while Vaggie snickered behind her hand.
"Catra will do the streamers." Adora continued without noticing Charlie's reaction. "Luz and Amity, why don't you guys go help Scorpia. No offense, Charlie, I don't think that Alastor guy is interested in actually helping anyone."
"Weeeell..." Charlie began.
"Good instincts," Vaggie muttered. "So, anyway that just leaves the confetti poppers. We'll hand those out."
Adora nodded and the group separated to tackle their decorating tasks.
Charlie and Vaggie's first stop was the bar. Angel Dust, Husk, and Eda were talking animatedly about something. Or... Angel and Eda, facing each other on one side of the bar, were in a loud discussion. Husk was in his usual place, on the other side of the counter, and pouring each of them a drink. The two seemed to be arguing over the properties of Apple Blood vs. Beezlejuice.
"Ha, that Beetlejuice, or whatever can't compare to the sweet nature of my Apple Blood. I think that gold tooth of yours has affected your tastes, my lanky pink friend." Eda was saying as Vaggie set the box behind the bar.
"Look who's talkin', toots." Angel retorted with a smirk.
Husk just rolled his eyes as the girls settled in. "They've been at this for 10 minutes." He grumbled but Charlie saw the smile on his face and his words hardly had his usual bite.
Charlie dropped off her handful of poppers on the bar counter and that served to distract the others from their debate.
"Ooh hey, whatcha got there, Chars?" Angel asked with a mischievous grin. The spider demon grabbed one up and, before anyone could stop or warn him, he pulled the string on one end. 'Poof' a tiny shower of confetti string shot out at Angel's very surprised face.
He yelped and threw himself back in shock and would've fallen off his stool if Husk didn't grab one of his flailing hands. The winged bartender gave a pull and settled him back upright. "Steady there, kid," he chuckled. Angel Dust smiled sheepishly at the usually gruff cat sinner.
Charlie and Vaggie hid giggles behind their hands, Eda guffawed loudly, but then they started picking confetti paper out of Angel's fur. Apologizing for laughing at him. After a few seconds of pouting Angel joined in the laughter at himself. "Aw, thanks guys."
Meanwhile, Luz and Amity were headed out to the back of the hotel to help Scorpia set up some picnic tables. Suddenly, Glimmer appeared next to them in a shower of sparkles.
"Great, found you, we need some help in the kitchen!" Then without further explanation the sparkly queen grabbed hold and disappeared with Luz in tow.
"Alright then," Amity said to the empty space, "I guess that leaves me and Scorpia to do the heavy lifting."
As she spoke the young witch crafted a goopy abomination and continued outside where she could hear a loud commotion. "You, demon piggy, you're gonna follow me. I'm gonna grow up to be the king of demons." King's high-pitched voice carried through the open door.
Scorpia and Perfuma could also be heard, loudly, she rolled her eyes. The two of them out there couldn't be a bigger pair of saps. Amity couldn't blame that freaky smiling demon for not wanting to be out here with them.
Luz didn't even have time to yell as Glimmer grabbed her arm. Then she blinked and was instantly in the Hazbin Hotel's kitchen with the impatient queen next to her. The young witch stumbled at the disorientation but luckily she was caught by Raine who was standing by and watching. They had wandered into the kitchen earlier to see how things were going.
Frosta was apologizing desperately to Willow who was trying to chip away at ice covering her hands. Sea Hawk was being talked out of setting her on fire by Hunter.
Looking around Luz saw that the desserts sitting out on the counter were completely iced over. "What happened here?" She asked and immediately several eyes turned to her.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Frosta begged. "I was just trying to keep the desserts cool since Hell is so hot but then this happened." The younger girl gestured to the icy countertops.
"What happened to Willow?" Luz asked more specifically as she hurried over to her friend with one of her ready-made spell papers. The ice around Willow's hands was pretty thick. She had to melt it fast but not as much as to hurt.
Willow tried to answer but her teeth were chattering too much.
Glimmer spoke up behind her though since she saw it all happen. "Apparently Willow startled her when Frosta was concentrating on the right amount of ice to add. Things wound up like... that. We should just be glad the whole kitchen isn't frozen over. There's no way we could have explained that to Charlie."
"Explained what to Miss Charlie?" A high pitch voice asked from one of the vents. Suddenly the panel to an air duct popped open and both Niffty and Entrapta dropped out and on to the kitchen floor. "Ooo, y'all are making messes in here." Niffty giggled maniacally as she pulled an ice pick out of nowhere and started chipping away at the frozen food.
The group exchanged glances and subtly moved away from her. All except Entrapta, who had pulled out her notebook, and was frantically scribbling things down.
Adora and Catra split the parlor and foyer area to tape up the crayon drawings. Lucifer and Camila were still sitting together, talking, or bragging about their kids by the sound of it.
As she moved around the room Adora chuckled to herself as she unwittingly learned some embarrassing childhood stories about her newest friends.
"And what are you snickering about over there, chica?" Camila playfully called to the tall blonde as she was taping up one of the last pictures in her hand. (A picture of a rainbow-colored hotel and a group of stick figure demons in front)
Adora froze for a second at being called out. She turned nervously to the two older (waaay older in Lucifer's case) adults in the room. "Who me? Uh, nothing, I just was thinking these kid's drawings were really cute, ya know."
Lucifer let out a low chuckle and stood up to come look at the nearest picture. "Yep," he popped the p and leaned back on his heels, "Charlie got the creative bug from me bu~ut unfortunately her skills aren't exactly honed for the physical medium like mine are."
Cringing slightly Adora's blue eyes widened. Charlie did these? Whoops. She'd have to apologize later. "Sorry," she muttered to Charlie's dad, the king of demons.
He easily waved her off. "Don't worry about it, Charlie doesn't. She says it doesn't matter as long as the feelings are there."
"I remember when my little Mija was younger, she once sewed a pigeon head onto a squirrel body and turned it in for a school project." Camila sighed wistfully as she walked over to stand next to Lucifer.
Adora's brows rose high at that bit of information. She wondered if she should ask Luz about that later... on second thought... Nah.
"Ahh, reminds me of the time when the Earth was being created." Lucifer nodded in agreement with a sigh. "We angels made such messes trying to outdo one another. I've always been quite proud of the duck, though."
Just then Catra sauntered in with her tail twitching. "Not like you're one to talk about art skills, Adora. Your drawings look like a 5 year old did them. Or, do I need to provide proof? I have evidence, ya know."
"Don't you dare, Catra." Adora frowned playfully at her teasing girlfriend.
"Aiyah, enough bickering from you two." Camila laughed. "The ballroom needs the streamers next. Get Bow and Gus to help. They're both wasting time in there already." She shooed the girls away then turned back to Lucifer with a soft smile.
She reached out and pinned a small rainbow heart to his coat lapel. The same one that she always wore. "For Charlie," Camila said and Lucifer's expression softened as he brushed his fingers over the small pin. The human woman didn't even know that it went double for the princess.
Adora and Catra entered the long ballroom the new hotel added. This kinda decorating they were used to. Glimmer and the Alliance princesses held balls at every opportunity and often volunteered both of the former military fighters as room decorators. Bow and Gus sat on the floor in the center of the room with gadgets and trinkets spread around them. Gus was in awe of one of Bow's arrows. Hunter was cuddling with Razzle next to the other guys. He'd followed Willow into the kitchen earlier but must've come here after helping with the food prep.
The Boiling Isle group's palismans: Ghost, Stringbean, Waffle, and the other spirit animals, were piled onto Fat Nuggets and Keekee in one corner.
Bow was really starting to get into his explanations of his inventions. Every time he had to stop and take a breath Gus would jump in with one of his discoveries about the human realm. Right now he was clutching at a yellow duck like it was a precious object.
"Catra. Hey, Catra, look at this!" The younger teen called out once they both noticed the Etherian girls come into the room. Gus tossed something to the magicat.
She caught the flying object easily but was surprised when it squeaked at her. In her hand was the little yellow duck that Gus had gotten from Lucifer earlier in the day.
"Glimmer said you might like that. It's really fascinating, right?" Gus rambled.
Catra looked down at the little toy and gave it another squeeze. This time her ears flicked forward with interest at the sound.
"Uh-oh," Adora snickered when she noticed that Catra's tail was fluffed up.
The usually serious magicat gave the duck another squeeze. Her tail whipped around as she let it go slowly, prolonging the squeaky sound for several seconds, and her pupils blew wide at the noise. Nobody dared say a thing when Catra pocketed the toy and looked up at them with a glare. "What?!" She demanded.
Adora laughed along with everyone else. "Don't worry about it, Catra, it's just something... cute."
"Whatever," Catra muttered darkly. "If you're done being weird, give me a lift, will ya. Let's get this room done."
"Sure thing," Adora agreed with an eager grin. With a flash of light there stood She-Ra in all her glory. With just a little moment to show off the 8ft. tall platinum blonde Etherian goddess lifted Catra with one hand to sit on her broad shoulders.
"Thanks, big gal," Catra wrapped her tail around the muscular bicep of her girlfriend for balance. Or so she would claim. Going around the ballroom like that the two of them quickly crisscrossed the room with the decorative Pride colored streamers. Hunter was instantly ready to jump up and help as well. With Razzle's wings and using his flash ability they were able to get to places even She-Ra couldn't reach.
The huge double doors were thrown open just as Catra was climbing down off of She-ra's shoulders. Everyone started filing into the room from wherever they were hanging out before. "I guess everyone else finished too," she said.
Lucifer led the way into the room. He had Charlie and Vaggie beside him. Then they were followed by Luz, Amity, and Camila. Angel Dust and Husk each had several cases of drinks and a specialty case of Apple Blood as they walked with Eda. Raine and Glimmer took the lead from the group hanging in the kitchen. They both carried in large trays of snacks and food. If the cupcakes looked a little like ice sculptures then they had the good mind not to mention it. King rushed into the room, and bowled into the cutesy pile of animal companions, breaking up the napping pile. The others filed in after them.
As the drink and snack areas were being situated around the room and the little palismans scurried to greet their respective owners (and Fat Nuggets to Angel Dust) the celebration hosts, Lucifer and Charlie, made it into the center of the room. With equal showmanship flair they spun around and called everyone's attention.
"We're so glad you could join us for the Hazbin Hotel's first annual Pride celebration." Charlie exclaimed, a wide grin stretching ear to ear. "To officially welcome you all and kick off the party me and Dad have come up with a little something." The king nodded, catching his daughter's eye, as she raised her finger high into the air.
Without warning a sparkly stream of magic shot from the princess's hand and separated into smaller explosions of glittery color above them. Pops of light and sound echoed around the room from the small indoor fireworks display.
Lucifer, in turn, raised his apple cane and a bright beam shot upwards, expanding, until the upper half of the room was suspended with the burst of rainbow explosions and a haze of golden light.
"Ha, yes!" Charlie enthusiastically cheered as her plan went off with bright success. She scooped Vaggie up with a twirl and the two shared a kiss under the lights.
Vaggie pulled back and smiled softly at her lover. "You did great, Charlie."
Amity snuggled into Luz's side as the two looked up at the display with wonder then Luz leaned over and placed an innocent kiss on the tip of her pointed ear. She kept her voice low as she whispered in her ear. "Wow, right?"
The young witch blushed but tightened her grip on her girlfriend's fingers. "Yeah, Luz, wow."
Now back to her usual self, Adora wrapped Catra in her arms, and the woman grinned. "Hey, Adora." She twisted around and circled Adora's neck with her arms. The blonde blushed but leaned down and claimed her partner's lips in a deep kiss as well.
Glimmer teleported into Bow's arms. He seemed to expect it and easily adjusted to suddenly having his queen in his arms. Eda and Raine came together, the hook-handed wild witch, being caught by her closest companion. Husk let Angel wrap an arm around him and didn't actually hide the warm smile he gave the spider sinner. Around them in a haze of magic and love everyone was cheering and talking and snuggling up to their own significant others.
King jumped around with excitement, his tail waving, as he tried to catch the glitters of color and light. He was tackled by Razzle and the two little furballs rolled across the floor trying to tickle each other.
Eda was the one who broke into the drinks first. While Adora couldn't resist the snack table. Then before anyone could guess what would come next, the scratchy sound of upbeat radio-filtered jazz filled the room.
Then the party really got started.

PS: I think Lucifer and Camila would be good friends. Or something more. They're actually my favorite crossover couple.
Largely thanks to Cornholio4's fic 'This Could Be Bad' on AO3.
I'd link it except I forgot how crappy FFnet is about that.
