So this is basically telling the backstory of the Griff family and how they all became a family mainly Harry and Elsie

Ms Diaz: Class I have a special assignment for you all.. since its Valentines Day tomorrow I want you all to find 2 people who are very close to each other and write about how they became either best friends or a couple!

Lester: A couple of what Ms Diaz?

Ms Diaz: A couple meaning 2 people who are in a romantic relationship

Stanley: So like my mom and dad?

Ms Diaz: Right Stanley! You can also write a story about just friends! Valentines Day doesnt have to be about romance

Stanley: Cool! Im gonna do that with mom and dad!

Ms Diaz: Make sure you have it written down by tomorrow to present to the class and once we're done I have a special surprise for all of you!

Mimi: Whats the surprise Ms Diaz?

Ms Diaz: Well if I told you it wouldnt be a surprise now would it Mimi?

Mimi: I guess not..

Stanley: I cant wait! Lets get started guys!

Lester: This is gonna be so much fun! See you tomorrow guys!

*Stanley walks home with Lionel*

Stanley: Did you get an assignment to write about a relationship for Valentines Day?

Lionel: Yeah im gonna make it about mom and dad

Stanley: Thats what I was gonna do! Ok I guess I'll just make it about.. me and Dennis!

Lionel: The goldfish? That would be a very short story little bro mom and dad just buy him from the pet store and you bond with him the end

Stanley: I guess you're right.. hmmmm.. I know! Harry and Elsie!

Lionel: The dog and the cat? Stanley you know they cant talk right?

Stanley: Yeah they can! You heard them talk when we were in the great big book of everything!

Lionel: Huh? No that was just a dream I had- none of that actually happened

Stanley: Yeah it did! I had to get you out of the book and animals were all over the place after the book broke! They were in the wrong habitats!

Lionel: We must have had the same dream that night but im telling you bro that did NOT happen

Stanley: It did too!

Lionel: Whatever- translate their barks and meows all you want its not gonna get you a good grade

Stanley: Yeah it will! Watch! But if you really dont think so I'll just do it about mom and dad like you

Lionel: Thats the smarter option-

*They get home*

Joyce: Hey boys how was school?

Lionel: Good we have this assignment for tomorrow on 2 people we have to write about

Joyce: Who are those 2 people?

Stanley: Any 2 people in a relationship whether romantic or.. the other word used for when its not romantic

Joyce: Platonic?

Stanley: Yeah that word!

Lionel: Its for Valentines Day tomorrow and I wanna tell my class how you and dad ended up together

Stanley: And I wanna write about how Harry and Elsie became best friends!

Mark: Hehehe sorry Stanley but I dont think that'll get you very far because Harry and Elsie are animals and cant talk

Lionel: Thats what I told him..

Stanley: They do talk! Tell them Lionel!

Lionel: Hes referring to a dream we shared a few nights ago- he thinks they can actually talk after that

Joyce: That would be cool if they could talk but unfortunately they dont so that wont get you far in your assignment like your dad said

Lionel: Besides you said you'd write it about mom and dad like me-

Stanley: Oh yeah.. I forgot..

Mark: Well we'd be more than happy to tell you how we met and ended up together!

Stanley: Wait hold on let me get Harry Elsie and Dennis! Im sure they'd like to hear it!

Lionel: Stanley they cant understand us- they're just pets

Stanley: They can understand us! They're very smart! *Goes upstairs into his room*

Dennis: Why hello Stanley good to see you again!

Harry: How was school dude? Did they give out free toys!

Stanley: No.. not yet at least but I want you guys to come downstairs so you can hear how mom and dad met! Its for an assignment!

Elsie: What assignment?

Stanley: You have to write about the story of how 2 people you know ended up together! Im gonna do it about mom and dad!

Harry: Cool! I wanna hear how your parents met!

Stanley: Then lets go!

*They go downstairs*

Lionel: Took ya long enough-

Mark: Alright we're all here so let me tell you how your mom and I fell in love..

Joyce: It started about 6 years before Lionel was born.. I was starting out as a dentist and this was during my third week

Stanley: Woah you did dentistry before Lionel and I were even born?

Joyce: I sure did kiddo and I was doing my usual work when a certain man came in as my next patient

Mark: And he was a very handsome man back then with a full head of hair

Joyce: Indeed he was and his name was Mark Jinkins.. but I think you know him as dad

Lionel: Your last name was Jinkins?

Mark: Yep! I changed it to Griff after I married your mom

Stanley: How did that day go?

Joyce: It went like this

*Dentist office 15 years ago*

Joyce: Annnnd that should do it Mr Jinkins you're all set!

Mark: Thanks Dr Griff I was worried I had a few cavities

Joyce: Nope your teeth are perfectly healthy! Just cut down on the soda so your teeth dont deteriorate

Mark: They werent lying when they said you were the best dentist in town

Joyce: Im only on my third week I just got this job

Mark: Yet its like you've been a dentist for years!

Joyce: Thank you Mr Jinkins..

Mark: No problem! Ummmm hey I really like you and I kinda wanna get to know you better

Joyce: Really?

Mark: Yeah.. is it ok if after you're done with work we can hang out at the park?

Joyce: Of course! I'll be done with my shift at about 6:30

Mark: Cool I'll see you then!

*After a few hours*

Joyce: Mr Jinkins? *Searching around* where are you?

Mark: *Drawing the scenery* Over here!

Joyce: *Sits next to him* Whatcha doing?

Mark: Just drawing what I see in front of me

Joyce: You drew these? *Gets other drawings he did while waiting*

Mark: I sure did! I've been drawing since I was a kid

Joyce: These look amazing Mr Jinkins!

Mark: Oh please call me Mark.. whats your name?

Joyce: Im Joyce

Mark: Joyce.. what a beautiful name for an even more beautiful woman

Joyce: *Blushing* Beautiful?

Mark: Yeah.. mind if I draw you?

Joyce: Of course you can!

Mark: *Narrating* And from that point on our romance only grew everyday until a few months later when I finally asked if she wanted to be my girlfriend

*A few months later*

Joyce: That was an amazing dinner Mark..

Mark: I'll say.. im stuffed!

Joyce: Me too.. well I gotta get home now so see you tomorrow

Mark: *Grabs her hand* Wait Joyce.. before you go I have to ask you something

Joyce: Oh sure what is it?

Mark: *Nervous* Ummmmm we've known each other for a while.. about 6 months now and.. well I was wondering.. and you dont have to this is just a question I dont wanna seem like im pushing this too fast but..

Joyce: Mark if you're gonna ask if I wanna be your girlfriend-

Mark: Yeah I was..

Joyce: So it was about that?

Mark: Yeah-

Joyce: *Kisses him*

Mark: *Caught by surprise but kisses her back*

Joyce: *After they're done* I think that should give you your answer ;)

Mark: Definite yes..

*Present*

Stanley: So that was your first kiss?

Mark: It was and its a moment I'll never forget..

Lionel: And what about your wedding? *Writing it all down*

Joyce: *Sigh* That was the best day of my life..

*Flashback to the proposal*

Mark: The boardwalk's great isnt it Joycie?

Joyce: Yeah its really pretty at sunset!

Mark: Just like you..

Joyce: Oh Mark..

Mark: *To himself* Now's the perfect time to ask..

Joyce: Ask what?

Mark: Joyce.. we've been together for 4 years now and.. I love you and I think you're the perfect woman for me.. I think its time we take the next step in our relationship.. *Kneels and pulls out ring* Joyce Griff.. will you marry me?

Joyce: *Gasp* Yes! Of course I'll marry you Mark! *Kisses him*

And that is how Joyce and Mark met and got married! Stay tuned in chapter 2 for how the cat and dog duo you know and love came to be!
