"HELP! I've been drawn into the pokemon fandom!"

They were used to many a strange thing over the years: it came in the realm of living side by side with creatures that can do remarkable things.

So when a building was reported to have suddenly appeared in the town, the officers wasted no time getting on the scene.

"Alright people, back up!" Scolded the officer in charge, the gathered onlookers heeding her stern order. She then addressed a middle-aged man in a trenchcoat, who was writing something down in a notepad. "Looker, what's the story here?"

The man clicked the top of the pen, the writing tip retreating into the pen. "Not much, Officer Jenny. Witnesses state that the building basically exploded into existence in a green cloud of energy."

"Really?" Officer Jenny regarded the building. It could be described as a brownstone house… if you disregarded the various doohickeys, neon sign and could very well be a UFO mounted on the roof. The neon sign, which seemed to have suffered some damage along with the UFO, proudly declared 'FENTONWORKS' to all the world. "I've read some of the reports on people being displaced before, but has it ever happened to entire structures?"

"Not that I could name off the top of my head, and never quite like how it was described with this," Looker shook his head, the man's expression giving her the impression that this will be a fun one. "Other than one witness saying they saw some movement in one of the upstairs windows, it has been quiet since the house's appearance. Just been waiting for you and for some medical personnel before launching an investigation."

"No need to wait any longer," Officer Jenny replied, indicating herself and the van that had pulled up earlier, the medical staff set up for any possible patients. She pulled out a white and red sphere. "Come on out Growlithe!" She called out, tossing the ball and, in a flash, releasing the contents.

"GROWL!" The creature, which had an appearance of a tiger-stripped dog of sorts, had emerged with an enthused howl, stretching itself before resuming a ready stance.

"ALRIGHT, The rest of you and your pokémon are on standby while Looker and I move in," the officer instructed before she, the man and the Growlithe headed to the front door.

"Knock knock," Looker said, lightly rapping his knuckles against the gray door, repeating the motion with more force after a moment of silence. He then tried the doorknob, finding no locks engaged. "Anyone home?"

Upon hearing no answer, the human duo and dog pokémon cautiously entered the building, eyeing the normal-looking but otherwise empty living room. It was moderately dark due to the lack of windows in the room, the light pouring through the open door helping some.

"No persons currently visible."

Looker flicked a nearby switch, it making a useless clicking noise. Obviously it wouldn't work as the house would be disconnected from its usual power sources from the teleportation, but it didn't hurt to try.

"Looks like we'll be using alternate light sources," Jenny stated, turning to the Growlithe. At this point, Looker heard the creak of a door being opened from the adjoining room.

"Wai-"

"Growlithe, use Sunny Day."

"Lithe!" The puppy pokémon barked, causing what natural light that was spilling into the room to brighten.

"GHOOOST!" Came a bellow that accompanied the whine of a weapon charging up.

"GET DOWN!" Jenny tackled Looker to the ground as a neon green beam of energy sailed overhead, scorching the wall above the front door.

"GROWLITHE!" The pokémon charged to where the source of the blast had come from, an opening that acted as a window in the wall that seperated the living room from another room, igniting a fireball as it crossed the threshold.

"Suffering Spooks!" A voice exclaimed as the fireball made impact with what sounded like something metal. Growls were then heard, likely the Growlithe having cornered the maybe assailant.

Both Looker and Officer Jenny stood back up, the latter pulling up the international officer while he gave a gentle complaint about being thrown to the floor. Two other officers and their Pokémon, also growlithe, had come in as well.

They all cautiously entered what was the kitchen, seeing Officer Jenny's Growlithe had cornered a large man dressed in a florescent orange jumpsuit, the man leaning against the countertop to put some distance between himself and the flaming beast. On the other side of the dining table, away from both the man and the officers, was a bazooka of all things, it still steaming from the Ember attack.

"Jack?!" Was called out as a woman in a jumpsuit that matched the man's in all but color, charged out from what could be the basement, armed with a glowing green Bo staff of sorts. She froze when she saw the occupants in the room, her grip on the staff tightening. "What's going on here!?"

"Police, stand down!" One of the other growlithe began growling at the woman.

"Maddie, be careful!" The man- Jack exclaimed, reaching a hand in the jumpsuited woman's direction.

"Everyone, settle down before anyone does something they'll regret later. Obviously there's some form of misunderstanding," Looker said, hands raised in a placating gesture. "Ma'am, we don't want to cause any harm. Please set down your weapon."

The woman, Maddie, eyed them. "What about your… creatures?" she questioned, indicating the growlithe. "You promise that no harm will come to myself or my husband?"

"Of course!" Officer Jenny exclaimed, "On my honor as an officer, no harm shall come to either of you."

After exchanging looks with her husband, Maddie then set her staff down, kicking it away as she rose back up.

"Growlithe, please stand down," Officer Jenny ordered, the other officer making a similar command. The Growlithe complied with cheerful barks and trotting back to their handlers.

Both Maddie and her husband looked a little relieved at the pokémon being called off.

"Thank you for your cooperation ma'am. Now let's have a chat, shall we?" Looker stated, addressing both the woman and the man, "I'm sure that you both have some questions as to what's going on."

"Yes we do-"

"What creatures are those?" The man asked, crouching down in front of Officer Jenny's growlithe in open curiosity and admiration, as if it hadn't cornered him earlier. The growlithe puffed its chest a little, basking in the attention.

The other officers, which Looker didn't quite know their names, looked absolutely shocked by the question. Looker himself had a theory based on both the man's question and the woman's earlier remark.

"Jack…" Maddie said in fond exasperation.

"This is Growlithe-"

"Growlithe!"

"-He's my partner," Officer Jenny explained, "The growlithe line is pretty standard for the police force, but other pokémon have also been used as well."

"What's pokémon?" Came the question, comfirming Looker's suspicions. The other officers, and their growlithe, ended up face-faulting at their shock.

"Um, are they okay?" Jack asked in concern.

"They'll be alright, though I expected better from them. Kenneth! Johnson! Up and at 'em!" Officer Jenny called out, the two police on the ground standing at attention in response.

"Yes Officer Jenny!"

"You two are dismissed. Go alert the others that the situation is under control and- do any of you need any medical attention?" Jenny inquired the couple, who shook their heads.

"Ask the medical staff to be on standby, in case any unforeseen complications occur," Looker recommended, then addressed the couple. "While she sorts out the details of that, you two can call me Looker, and let me explain the world of Pokémon…"

In a different part of this new world, a pair of aqua eyes take in their surroundings. Unlike the cozy neighborhood that she had grown up for most of her life, Jazz now found herself in a flowery glade.

"Where am I?" She questioned, tucking loose strands of her fiery hair back behind her teal headband.

"Ralts"

"Huh?" Was questioned, the young woman turning her attention to the little white creature that was peering at her through its teal bangs. It had a pair of red horns on its little head.

"Um, hi?" Jazz greeted the creature, giving a small wave.

"Ralts!" The creature replied in good cheer, toddling up to the teen and clambering onto her lap.

Jazz, initially surprised at the boldness of the creature, huffed out a laugh as she patted its head. "Aren't you a friendly little… What are you?"

"So pokémon are mystical creatures that mankind with have developed an inter-dependent relationship," Maddie summarized, having taken out a notepad and was writing notes as Looker gave the explanation.

"As well as I can explain it, though I'm no Pokémon professor."

"Well we certainly don't have these pooky mons back home," Jack said, giving the growlithe a scritch behind the ears, earning a pleased bark. Amazing how the man befriended the creature in such a small amount of time.

"Pokémon, Jack," Maddie corrected, then asked the international police officer, "So you mentioned about previous cases of people from other dimensions being brought here?"

"Pokémon are capable of incredible feats, some of which include teleportation. The cases that are typically known to the public are when Pokémon and their handlers accidentally teleport into different regions, but there is a handful of cases, ones that are for the most part kept quiet, where someone from an entirely different world end up in ours."

"Circumstances tend to vary, but the most common ones that were reported are a really rare, powerful Pokémon teleports the person," Jenny recalled from some of the reports she had reviewed before coming here, "Another, though this one tends to be more confusing, is when the person in question was in the midst of an event that they probably would have died, but were instead sent to our world."

"This is the first time that the people were brought here with their entire house," Looker commented, a smirk curling his lips.

"While we don't know much about this world or its inhabitants, we do have an idea as to how we ended up here."

"We're scientists that, to summarize, study and build devices that utilize the energy known as ectoplasm as well as study a parallel dimension we call the Ghost Zone."

"Ghost Zone? You mean, like actual ghosts?"

"Yessiree! We, the Fentons, are experts in ghosts!" Jack declared. "Most of our study is dedicated on ectoplasm, an substance and energy source that the Ghost Zone consists of, and its potential uses. In fact, most of our home utilizes ectoplasm for power. Cut our energy bills to almost nonexistent because of it."

"We were trying to get our generators up and running when you two came in," Maddie explained, "we were trying to get in touch with our children."

"You have kids?" Jenny asked.

"Two daughters and a son," Jack said with much pride in his voice, then visibly deflated as he sunk into his seat. The Growlithe let out a low whine in concern, rubbing his head against the man's side. "They were home with us when the house teleported here, but we weren't able to find them when we came to."

"Ah." So they had three more people that might have been brought to their world, and children at that. "So you were explaining how you think you ended up here?"

"It all comes back to the ghosts," Maddie said, "While we study the energy and the Ghost Zone itself, sometimes a hostile ghost would make its way into our world and cause mayhem. We've also developed some gear to combat the malevolent spirits."

"So the Bazooka…"

"A means to fight back, Mano to Ghosto, especially since some of the ghosts seem to target us," Jack said, then the couple turned sheepish, "though we've gotten a little too trigger happy and- well, we've been working on that."

"To get back on track, we had recently came across some new information that required for a change in some procedures, but some didn't agree." Maddie's hands clenched. "An old college friend that we worked with turned out to not be who we thought he was and wanted to cause us harm. He had employed some ghosts to attack the house."

"He attacked the house, and with children in the crossfire?!" Officer Jenny exclaimed, both her and Looker expressing concern.

"At that point, he didn't care," Jack muttered, a mixture of both contempt and hurt etched into his facial features. Maddie gave a comforting sqeeze to one of his large hands, which seemed to help somewhat.

"We had, long ago, build defensive measures. While that kept us mostly safe, one of the attacks had struck one of our newer inventions."

"The Fenton Inter-frequency locator: designed to pick up frequencies from other dimensions and to locate natural portals," Jack explained.

"We theorized that through the connection of our systems, the locator and the portal had teleported the house to your world."

"Hmm, very fascinating," Looker mused, then asked, "so how were you planning on locating your children?"

"Ah, come down to the lab and we'll show you!"

"Huh," a voice mused, its owner taking in her surroundings. Dani, when she came to, had found herself on a seashore, the long grass around her gently swaying in the ocean-scented breeze. "Well Toto, looks like I'm not in Kansas anymore. This doesn't fit the description of any of the places in the Ghost Zone that Danny explained to me, so where am I? Oh cool!"

"Scatterbug!" The odd, yet cute little black caterpillar chittered. It had a cream diamond spot on its tush and a fuzzy white collar of a mane.

"What a neat bug! And it talks too!" The preteen scooped up the interesting looking caterpillar, or whatever it was, and started petting its little head. The caterpillar gave a pleased chitter.

"Wow." The Fenton's lab was, what Looker could call, a scientist's dream come true and worst nightmare. The place was such a chaotic mess of odds and ends and much of their inventions, that he could see, seemed to be built from what they could get their hands on, and yet they were able to make such devices with nothing but spare parts from kitchen appliances should be considered engineering miracles:

A portal to a parallel dimension in their basement.

The tricked out fishing pole that could restrain a ghost dragon of all things.

A bazooka that can create temporary portals wherever it was shot.

The shrinking ray, which was named such a ridiculous name. "The Fenton Crammer"?

The OPS center (the structure on top) was fully capable of morphing into a dirigible and a jet.

That random hover craft in the corner.

And those were the main ones that he could list. Could he list those generators as well, which had just started working. Overall, very impressive, yet somewhat concerning.

"We have power!" Jack exclaimed, leaping up. "Looks like everything's back in working order."

The portal doors suddenly swish open, a swirling green vortex revealed.

"Huh, even the portal's working too," Jack mused, seeming unbothered by the fact.

Some of the devices on a nearby work table start to blare their little alarms as a purple hand appeared from the vortex. A Haunter emerged from the bowels of the portal, the Pokémon blinking in surprise as it took in its surroundings.

"Never seen a ghost like that before," Maddie muttered, keeping herself from drawing a weapon as the visitor didn't seem hostile.

"That's a Haunter," Officer Jenny said, both she and her Growlithe regarding the portal in surprise, "a ghost-type Pokémon."

"HAUNTER!" The ghost-type called out its namesake, then gave a bellowing laugh.

"They're pretty harmless creatures, just cheeky little beings that like playing pranks on people."

"Well… so long as it doesn't do anything bad, like mess with some of our equipment, then I guess it should be alright," Maddie said, turning her attention to some sort of radar as the Haunter drifted over to Jack.

Both Pokémon and Ghost hunter regarded each other in curiosity.

"So, you're one of those Pokémon I've heard about?"

"Haunt." The gas Pokémon nodded its head, though looked a little confused by the question.

"…do you Pokémon like fudge?"

"HAUNT!" Was the enthused answer.

"Okay, I've managed to lock onto the kids' Fenton phones," Maddie said, "It looks like they've been teleported to this world with us, but I can't get a clear connection to their headsets."

"That's where we can help," Officer Jenny said. "If you can give me some information about them, I can get the other departments in the region keep an eye out for them."

"Better have some of the surrounding regions be aware as well," Looker recommended, "we don't know how far your children may have been scattered."
