Chapter 10: Confessions
"Come on Yukino. We can walk to where the job is right? It's not that far" stated Jay in a hopeful tone as he and Yukino waited for the train to arrive at the station. Yukino gave Jay a sympathetic smile as she started to speak.
"I'm sorry Jay but if we walk then it would take us at least a week to get to the job. We can't waste that much time when we need to prepare for Grand Magic games" responded Yukino in a sympathetic tone. Yukino knew how much the train pained Jay, and she wished there was another option but sadly this was the only way. Jay groaned at these words as he started to speak.
"Man this sucks, I just got off a train and now I have to get back on one" responded Jay in a pained tone since he could already feel his stomach twist itself into knots. Once again giving Jay a sympathetic smile, Yukino started to speak.
"I'm sorry Jay, but this is really the only way. The train ride is only about an hour or so, it shouldn't be too bad. Just try and bear it the best you can" responded Yukino with a warm smile.
"Yah that's easy for you so say Yukino. You have no idea how bad my motion sickness can get, it's downright crippling" responded Jay with a weak smile, trying to make light of his situation. Giving Jay a warm smile, Yukino started to speak.
"It still surprising to see how bad you, Sting and Rouge get with trains and other vehicles" responded Yukino with a smile, thinking it was slightly amusing that three of the most powerful members of Saber Tooth all shared a weakness. Nodding his head, Jay started to speak.
"Yah well it makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one with this stupid weakness" responded Jay. As they continued to wait for their train, Yukino started to speak.
"Oh that's right" stated Yukino as she remembered something. Jay gave Yukino a curious look as he watched her reach into her bag and search for something.
"What is it Yukino" asked Jay in a curious tone as he watched Yukino search her bag.
"Where is it? It has to be here, Oh I found it" stated Yukino to herself before she pulled out a small bottle of pills. Turning back towards Jay, Yukino gave him a warm smile as she continued to speak.
"I knew that we would have to ride the train which would trigger your motion sickness so I bought some medicine that should help with the nausea" stated Yukino in a friendly tone. Jay was left speechless for a moment before he started to speak.
"Wait you bought medicine for me? Yukino that must have cost a lot of money" responded Jay in a slightly shocked tone since he knew just how much medicine could end up costing. Yukino blushed slightly at these words, she was afraid that her kind action would reveal too much about her secret feelings for Jay. At the time Yukino wanted to help Jay so she bought the medicine, she didn't think about how much it cost. Would someone who just wanted to be friends buy someone expensive medicine? Yukino hoped that the answer to that question was yes or else she might have revealed too much about how she feels.
"I-it didn't cost that much. Besides I w-wanted to help you" responded Yukino in a shy tone as her cheeks were tinted pink with her blush. Jay was once again silent for a moment; it was clear from Yukino's response that the medicine did cost a fair amount of money. It seemed that Jay was silent for long enough for Yukino to look at Jay, clearly waiting for his response. Yukino hoped that her blush was hidden as she looked at a stunned Jay. After another short moment of silence, Jay was able to form a response and started to speak.
"That's so kind of you Yukino, you're incredible" responded Jay in an awed tone.
The moment Jay said these words he blushed, thinking that he must have overstepped since he was sure that Yukino didn't feel the same way about him. Looking away in embarrassment, Jay turned his head away from Yukino. Since Jay had turned his head away, he didn't see Yukino blush crimson at his words. Yukino was left speechless at Jay's words, her heart beating out of her chest as her face blushed crimson. For a brief moment Yukino thought that Jay might perhaps have feeling for her as well, but she quickly dismissed this hope. Jay was just being kind with his words, nothing more.
"It's no trouble Jay, I'm glad that I can help" responded Yukino, hoping that her voice was steady enough to not tip Jay off to how fast her heart was beating. Looking back at Yukino, Jay took the offered nausea pills. Taking a look at the bottle of nausea pills, Jay started to speak.
"These will certainly help Yukino, these are top of the line I can tell" responded Jay with a smile. Taking a moment Jay opened the bottle of pills and took a dose. Swallowing the pills Jay could soon feel his stomach calm down. Turning his attention back towards Yukino, Jay smiled as he continued to speak.
"Wow I feel better already, thanks Yukino. Really this is amazing, I'm glad to have a friend like you" stated Jay with a kind smile. Yukino smiled back at Jay, she was glad that she was able to help ease Jay's pain. While Yukino was glad that she was able to help Jay, she could not deny the slight pang of sadness that ran through her when Jay called her a friend when she desperately wished that they were so much more.
"I'm glad you are feeling better" responded Yukino with a smile. Shortly after saying these words the train they were waiting for arrived at the station. Standing up, Yukino continued to speak.
"That's us, come on Jay" stated Yukino with a smile. Jay took a moment to take a deep breath in order to steady himself. While Yukino's medicine was helping, his stomach was starting to twist as the looming dread of the train ride came nearer. Standing up, Jay took another deep breath before he started to speak.
"Right behind you Yukino. Just don't hold it against me if I still end up hurling" responded Jay in a strained tone, hoping that Yukino's medicine would fully combat his crippling motion sickness.
"Just a little bit longer Jay, try and stay strong" stated Yukino in a kind tone as she patted Jay's head as he continued to grumble in pain. Jay and Yukino had been riding the train for nearly an hour and Jay was laying his head on Yukino's lap as his motion sickness crippled him.
"Ahh I don't know if I can last that much longer" responded Jay in a pained tone, his stomach killing him as the train rolled along the tracks. Smiling kindly at Jay, Yukino wished that she could do something to help Jay's pain.
"I know you can make it Jay; you are the strongest person I know. Just a little bit longer and we will arrive at our destination" responded Yukino, patting Jay's head in an attempt to ease some of his suffering.
When Jay's motion sickness overpowered the medicine he had taken, Jay soon collapsed onto Yukino's lap. Being this close to Jay, having him lay his head onto her lap made Yukino's heart beat quickly. While Yukino enjoyed being this physically close to Jay she had to remind herself that Jay only was doing this because of his motion sickness. No matter how much Yukino hoped that Jay sought out her physical touch, Yukino knew that Jay only viewed her as a friend. For about a half hour Jay continued to suffer through his motion sickness as the train rolled along the tracks. After what seemed like an eternity to Jay, the train finally stopped as it arrived in the station.
"Is it over? Please tell me it's over" asked Jay in a pained tone, his stomach feeling like it was going to kill him. In addition to feeling his crippling motion sickness, Jay felt guilty that Yukino bought expensive medicine for him only for it to be ineffective in combating his motion sickness. Smiling kindly at Jay, Yukino started to speak.
"Yes, we are here but please take your time and move when you are ready" responded Yukino in a kind tone. Yukino hoped that Jay would take some time since she enjoyed his head in her lap, the physical closeness making her heart flutter with happiness. While Jay was trying to gather his strength, Jay suddenly realized he was laying in Yukino's lap. With a blush on his face, Jay jumped back from Yukino and started to speak.
"Oh uh sorry about that Yukino. I didn't meant to get that close; I was half delirious" stated Jay as he blushed crimson. Blushing crimson herself, Yukino started to speak.
"There's no need to apologize I understand" responded Yukino in a shy tone as she blushed. The unspoken words in Yukino's head was that she liked Jay being that close, but she didn't have the courage to voice those words out loud. While he was still blushing with embarrassment, Jay started to speak.
"Thanks for understanding" responded Jay, hoping that his voice was steady enough. Nodding her head in acknowledgement, Yukino wished she knew what to say to break apart the awkward silence between them. After a short while, Jay continued to speak.
"I think I am well enough to move around now. You want to get going" asked Jay, glad that his stomach and blushing were under control. Nodding her head, Yukino gave Jay a smile as she started to speak.
"Yes, I'm ready to go. Lead the way" responded Yukino with a radiant smile that made Jay blush for a moment as he stared at her. After a moment Jay realized he had been staring and shook his head as he stood up and started to speak.
"Right, then let's show the client why Saber Tooth is number one" responded Jay as he tried to get his blushing back under control. Smiling at Jay's words, Yukino started to follow him out of the train as she started to speak.
"Sounds great to me" responded Yukino, happy to be on a job with Jay despite the few awkward moments between them caused by her own unrequited feelings for Jay. The two of them walked out of the train and headed towards the mayor's house since the mayor was the client. After a short walk, Jay and Yukino were in front of the mayor's house.
"Ready Yukino" asked Jay with a confident smile. Nodding her head, Yukino started to speak.
"I'm ready, let's make Saber Tooth proud" responded Yukino. Jay and Yukino both knew what was expected of them. Their guild master wanted only the best and expected perfection in everything. To be allowed to join the best guild in the kingdom, one had to be the best in everything. Knocking on the mayor's door, Jay and Yukino waited to be shown inside. Soon Jay and Yukino were sitting on a couch side by side while the mayor sat across from them. Smiling at Jay and Yukino, the mayor started to speak.
"It's such a relief to have you two here to help solve our monster issue" stated the mayor with a smile. The mayor was an elderly woman, she was smiling at Jay and Yukino while Jay started to speak.
"It's not a problem. Consider your monster issue solved. The moment you hired Saber Tooth the job was a guaranteed success" responded Jay in a confident tone. While the monster stated in the job request form seemed like it was a non-issue for someone as strong as Jay, he also knew that failure was not an option. If Yukino and him could not complete the job, they knew they would not have a guild to return to. Saber Tooth had no room for wizards that couldn't complete a job.
"You have no idea how great it is to hear that" responded the mayor with a wide smile.
"Can you tell us more about the monster that is terrorizing the village" asked Yukino in a curious tone. Nodding her head, the mayor started to speak.
"Of course. Like the job request said, the monster is a group of Vulcans that have become bold and attacking travelers close to our village. The problem has started to affect our local trade, which is what we thrive on. If the Vulcans aren't dealt with then the local trade will dry up and our way of life will wither away" explained the mayor. Jay nodded his head at this information. It didn't matter if the group of Vulcans numbered in the hundreds, with his power this job was going to be a cake walk.
"Don't worry, Yukino and I are some of Saber Tooth's best. A group of Vulcans isn't even a workout for us" responded Jay with a smile while Yukino blushed at being praised by Jay. The mayor nodded her head in understanding as she started to speak.
"I see, we are certainly grateful to have such capable wizards taking on our job request" responded the mayor in a grateful tone before she continued to speak.
"And I have to say you two make a cute couple" stated the mayor with a smile. Jay and Yukino both blushed crimson at these words, both unable to look at each other out of embarrassment. After a short moment, Jay started to speak.
"You got it all wrong, Yukino and I aren't a couple" responded Jay in a nervous tone while he blushed crimson. Yukino nodded her head as she started to speak.
"That's right, Jay and I are just friends" responded Yukino while her face blushed crimson. Jay thought for a moment he heard a measure of regret in Yukino's voice when she said these words, as if she wished they were more than friends. Shaking his head, Jay concluded that his mind must be playing tricks on him. Yukino only saw him as a friend, and any sort of regret he heard in her voice just now was just him hoping that she wanted more than friendship. Giving the two an understanding look, the mayor started to speak.
"I see, that's how it is then" responded the mayor in an amused tone. It was clear to the mayor that Jay and Yukino had feelings for each other but were too shy or stubborn to admit it to each other. The mayor thought that they would make a cute couple and figured since Jay and Yukino were helping them out with the Vulcan problem then the mayor could help push them in the right direction with their unspoken feelings. Smiling at the blushing Saber Tooth wizards, the mayor continued to speak.
"It's too late for you two to do anything about the Vulcans today. I have arranged for a room at our local inn. When you two get there just say that you are the Saber Tooth wizards and show them your guild marks and they will show you to your room free of charge" stated the mayor with a smile.
"That's not necessary, we can pay for our own lodging" responded Yukino. Nodding his head in agreement Jay started to speak.
"Yukino's right. We can pay for ourselves" responded Jay. While Jay may have disagreed with his father in many areas of life, he agreed with him when he taught Jay to never accept charity from others when he could pay for himself. The mayor smiled kindly at the two Saber Tooth wizards as she started to speak.
"Nonsense, this is our way of thanking you for taking on this job for us" responded the mayor in a kind tone. Still not wanting to accept the charity, Jay started to speak.
"Your thanks is the payment for the job, which is no small amount" responded Jay while Yukino nodded her head in agreement. Shaking her head in disagreement, the mayor started to speak.
"The payment is nothing compared to what you two are doing for our town. It's like a said before, this Vulcan problem is endangering our very way of life. When you consider that, the payment and free lodging for the night isn't nearly enough. Please accept this, it's the least we can do for you two" responded the mayor. Seeing how much it meant to the mayor that they accept her charity, Jay sighed as he relented and started to speak.
"Alright, if it means that much to you. Thank you" responded Jay.
"Yes thank you, that is very kind of you" stated Yukino with a smile. Smiling back at the two Saber Tooth wizards, the mayor was glad they accepted the offer of a free room. While the mayor wanted to pay back the wizards that were saving their way of life, she had another motive for insisting that they accept the room. The natural matchmaker within the elderly mayor thought that Jay and Yukino would make a cute couple, and this would be a push in the right direction to get them to see that.
"It's our pleasure. Thank you again for taking on this job for our small town" responded the mayor with a kind smile. Shortly after these words Jay and Yukino excused themselves. Standing up, Jay smiled at the mayor as he started to speak.
"You can bet on it that first thing in the morning those Vulcans will learn the lesson to never mess with this town ever again. You have my word as a Saber Tooth wizard" stated Jay with a confidant smile while Yukino nodded her head in agreement. After saying these words Jay and Yukino exited the mayor's home and were soon standing in the middle of the town. Turning his attention towards Yukino, Jay started to speak to her.
"I don't know about you Yukino but I'm starving. How about we get a bite to eat before we call it a night" asked Jay with an infectious smile. Smiling at Jay, Yukino nodded her head as she started to speak.
"That sounds good to me" responded Yukino in a happy tone, glad to spend more time with her secret crush. Smiling back at Yukino, Jay started to walk through the crowded streets while he looked for a good place to eat. After a short walk Jay stopped in front of a restaurant and turned to Yukino as he started to speak to her.
"This place seems like it could be good" stated Jay with a smile, his strong sense of smell telling him something wonderful was cooking in the kitchen. Smiling at Jay, Yukino started to speak.
"I'm good here, let's head in" responded Yukino with a smile. Stepping into the restaurant, Jay and Yukino were soon shown to a table. Sitting down across from Jay, Yukino hoped that her blushing was noticeable. While Yukino knew that they were just friends sharing a meal together, she couldn't help but imagine how easily this could be considered a date if things were different. If only Jay felt the same about her and if Yukino had the courage to voice her feelings for him, this could be a date instead of two friends enjoying a meal together.
"Man, I'm starving. I hope you don't judge me if I order to whole menu" joked Jay as he started to look through the menu. Yukino giggled at Jay's words before she started to speak.
"I won't judge you Jay. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen you eat a large amount of food" responded Yukino with a smile, remembering the first week she joined Saber Tooth.
After losing her big sister, Yukino was alone for a long time. After years of being alone Yukino finally felt like she had a home when she joined Saber Tooth. Joining Saber Tooth was one of the happiest moments of Yukino's life, even if most of the members weren't very friendly. While most of the Saber Tooth members weren't friendly, Jay was different.
During her first week Yukino was worried that maybe Saber Tooth wasn't a good fit for her since she hadn't made any real friends. One day when Yukino was sitting at a table alone in the Saber Tooth guildhall, Jay sat down across from her and started to have a conversation with her. Yukino was shocked at how fast she was drawn to Jay after he started having a conversation with her, it felt like they had known each other for years with how easy it was to talk with Jay. While they had a conversation, Jay ordered some food and Yukino could remember the shock she felt when Jay consumed a mountain of food in front of her. Since that day, Yukino was glad to have a true friend in Saber Tooth.
"Hello, I will be your waitress. It's nice to meet such a cute couple" stated the waitress with a smile. Yukino was brought out of her fond memory at the waitress's words and could not control the blush that tinted her cheeks. That was the second time in the same day Jay and her were mistaken for a couple and Yukino wished that it wasn't a mistake.
"Oh we aren't a couple, but I guess thanks for thinking we were cute together" responded Jay with a smile, his own face covered with a blush mirroring Yukino's. The waitress gave Jay and Yukino another look, as if she didn't believe they the two wizards weren't a couple. Giving them a smile, the waitress supposed they were both too afraid the admit their feelings for each other.
"I'm sorry if I assumed, you two just look good together" responded the waitress with a smile. Once again the waitress's words made Yukino blush. Seeing that her words were having a clear effect on the two wizards, the waitress took pity on Yukino and figured she could help push them together with a little bit of innocent flirting. Giving Jay a flirty look, the waitress continued to speak.
"If you two aren't a couple then maybe handsome over here is available for when I get off my shift" stated the waitress in a flirty tone. While Jay smiled at the waitress, Yukino felt a pang of jealously rise up within her. Before Yukino could think about what she was about to say, she opened her mouth.
"No" shouted Yukino, her usually sweet voice laced with venom. Jay turned his attention towards Yukino and gave her a curious look.
"Is everything alright Yukino" asked Jay in a curious tone. Jay was about to let the waitress down gently, telling her he wasn't interested but Yukino's outburst piqued his curiosity. Yukino seemed to realize she may have overstepped with her outburst. Blushing crimson, Yukino realized that her outburst could have come across as her being jealous. Even if she was jealous, Yukino couldn't have Jay thinking that or else it would possibly reveal her feelings for him.
"I-it's just we need to get some sleep for the job tomorrow so you shouldn't wait up" responded Yukino hoping her hastily put together excuse would be good enough. Jay took a moment to think about Yukino's response. It was reasonable enough he thought, and it made sense, so why was he disappointed with it? For a moment Jay thought that Yukino was jealous, and the thought made him happy. Thinking more about why he wished Yukino was jealous instead of being practical, Jay turned his attention towards the waitress as he started to speak.
"Sorry but it's like Yukino said. We have a big job tomorrow so I shouldn't wait up" stated Jay with a smile. Smiling back at Jay, the waitress hoped that was enough to give Jay and Yukino a nudge in the right direction.
"That's a shame. Can I take your order then" asked the waitress with a smile. After placing their orders, Jay turned his attention back towards Yukino and started to speak.
"Yukino are you sure everything is okay? I know we have a job tomorrow but was that the only reason why you objected to our waitress flirting with me" asked Jay in a curious tone. Jay felt his heart speed up as he waited for Yukino's answer, a large part of him wishing that Yukino was jealous. Yukino felt her blush deepen with Jay's question. Seeing that Jay was waiting for a response, Yukino hoped that she could keep her voice steady as she started to speak.
"Yah, that was the only reason" responded Yukino, internally patting herself on the back for keeping her voice steady enough despite how fast her heart was beating. Yukino was looking away from Jay, unable to meet his gaze. While Yukio tried to not fall apart under Jay's gaze, he started to speak.
"Yukino your lying" responded Jay, his words making Yukino's heart skip a beat. Yukino looked nervously at Jay in response to his words as she started to speak.
"W-what, no I'm not" responded Yukino in a nervous tone. Giving Yukino a knowing look, Jay started to speak.
"Yes you are Yukino. You have a big tell whenever you lie" responded Jay his tone steady despite his quickly beating heart. Blushing a deeper shade of red, Yukino started to speak.
"I have I tell" asked Yukino as she tried to think of a way out of this situation. Jay was getting dangerously close to learning about her secret crush for him and she couldn't risk losing his friendship. Nodding his head, Jay started to speak.
"Yes you do. You crinkle your nose slightly whenever you lie. It's honestly really cute but that's how I am always able to beat you at cards when we play against each other" responded Jay, referring to the many late nights Yukino and him stayed up late playing cards with each other as they shared about their past. Yukino felt her heart skip a beat at Jay's words. Not only had she been found out in her lie, but Jay had called her cute. After a moment of silence, Yukino gathered the courage to look at Jay as she started to speak.
"Y-you think I'm cute" asked Yukino, her face blushing crimson. With Yukino's question, Jay's face blushed the same shade as Yukino.
"Umm yah, your adorable Yukino but don't distract from my question. Why did you lie? What's the other reason why you didn't like it when the waitress flirted with me" asked Jay, keeping his voice steady despite his heart beating in his ears.
Yukino knew this was the perfect moment to confess her feelings for Jay, he was practically asking her too. Taking another look at Jay, Yukino could feel his eyes piercing into her. For so long Yukino wished she had the confidence to confess to Jay, to let him know how much he means to her. Now here was the perfect opportunity to confess but Yukino couldn't find the courage to speak. Instead of opening her mouth to voice the words she wanted to for so long, Yukino abruptly stood up and rushed out of the restaurant without a word.
"Yukino! Hold on" shouted Jay in a worried tone. Jay felt terrible as he watched Yukino run away. He had wanted Yukino to say she was jealous because she had feelings for him, and now his best friend was running away from him because he hoped she felt the same for him and pressed where he shouldn't have. Not caring that the food was just arriving at the table, Jay rushed after Yukino.
Yukino heard Jay shout after her, but she didn't stop running. If Yukio stopped running then Jay would catch up with her and press her for the truth. The truth couldn't come out, because if it did then she would have to hear Jay tell her that he didn't feel the same way. Running away as fast as she could, Yukino was soon panting for breath a good distance away from the restaurant, far out of sight from Jay. As Yukino was catching her breath and was starting to relax thinking she had managed to slip away, she heard Jay's voice from behind her.
"Yukino I'm sorry for pressing about the lie" stated Jay as he stood behind Yukino. Yukino spun around and in a panicked voice, she started to speak.
"W-what?! How did you find me" asked Yukino in a nervous tone. Smiling at Yukino, Jay started to speak.
"Vanilla" responded Jay with a smile. While Yukino was nervous and her heart was beating a mile a minute, she was also confused at Jay's answer.
"W-what" asked Yukino in a nervous and confused tone.
"Vanilla, that's the way you smell. It's either your shampoo or a perfume you're wearing but that's your scent. Did you forget about my sense of smell? It's not that hard for me to track you" responded Jay. Yukino felt foolish, in her nervous desire to get away from Jay and avoid the truth from coming out Yukino had forgotten about Jay's strong sense of smell.
"Oh that's right. I forgot about that" responded Yukino, trying to keep her blushing under control as Jay stood in front of her. Their recent conversation was still fresh in her mind, how close the truth had gotten to being revealed.
"Yukino I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to upset you" stated Jay in a nervous tone, wanting more than anything to repair whatever damage his curiosity had done to their friendship.
"I-its's okay. I overreacted" responded Yukino, unable to look Jay in the eyes with how quickly her heart was beating. Taking a single step towards Yukino, Jay started to speak.
"No, it's not okay Yukino. I shouldn't have pressed about whatever you lied about. I just wanted to know if you felt anything for me, it was dumb of me to think so" responded Jay in a nervous tone. Yukino's heart skipped a beat at Jay's words. While Yukino's heart was beating quickly, she managed to look Jay in the eyes. Her curiosity temporally overriding her fear of rejection.
"Y-you wanted to know how I felt about you" asked Yukino in a nervous tone. This time Jay was the one blushing crimson as he started to speak.
"Y-yah I did Yukino. When you shouted after the waitress flirted with me I thought, it doesn't matter what I thought" responded Jay in a nervous tone, thinking that he was being foolish for thinking that Yukino was being jealous. Needing to know what Jay thought, Yukino took a single step towards him as she started to speak.
"N-no It does matter. What did you think? Please tell me" responded Yukino not knowing what she wanted Jay to say.
"I t-thought that maybe you were jealous when the waitress flirted with me. I w-wanted you to be jealous" responded Jay hoping that he could still repair his friendship with Yukino after this. Once again Yukino's heart skipped a beat at Jay's words. Taking another step forward, Yukino and Jay were now inches apart as she started to speak.
"Y-you wanted me to be jealous? Why" asked Yukino, praying that Jay would say the words that she could not. A moment of silence filled the air that seemed like an eternity to the two of them before Jay found the courage to speak.
"Yukino I don't want to endanger our friendship; I don't think I should say why" responded Jay in a nervous tone. Looking at Jay with a pleading and nervous look, Yukino started to speak.
"Jay please tell me; I need to know" responded Yukino in a pleading tone that made Jay blush an even deeper shade of red. Looking at Yukino's pleading look and with how close they were to each other Jay couldn't deny her request. Taking a moment to steady his breathing, Jay started to speak.
"I wanted you to be jealous because I have feelings for you Yukino, romantic feelings. I wanted you to feel the same, but I know you just see me as a fr" Jay started to say before he was silenced when Yukino suddenly crashed her lips onto his.
Yukino was waiting on bated breath for Jay's response. When Jay admitted that he had feelings for her, Yukino at first thought she had heard him wrong. While Yukino was trying to process what she had just heard, she continued to listen to Jay. When Jay started to say that she only thought of him as a friend, she needed to show him that he was wrong. Not knowing how else to convey her feelings, Yukino surged forward and crashed her lips onto Jay's.
Once Yukino crashed her lips onto Jay's, lightning shoot across both of them. Moaning into the kiss, Yukino could not believe she was finally kissing the man she has had feelings for. For the better part of a year Yukino had pinned after Jay, wishing that he felt the same way about her. Finally, Yukino knew that Jay felt the same way about her, and it felt amazing kissing him. For serval moments the two of them were lost in each other, their lips pressing hard together as they moaned into each other's mouths. After what seemed like forever, Jay leaned back from Yukino's sweet lips and stared at her in awe as he started to speak.
"Y-Yukino" stated Jay, slightly out of breath as he stared into Yukino's eyes. While her heart was still beating quickly and her arms wrapped around Jay's neck, Yukino started to speak.
"I don't see you as just a friend Jay" responded Yukino, still nervous about confessing her feelings despite the fact they had just kissed. A moment of silence followed it seeming like an eternity before Yukino continued to speak.
"I see you as so much more Jay. I love you. I've loved you for such a long time" responded Yukino in a nervous tone. Jay was left speechless at Yukino's confession. Unable to voice a response, Jay leaned forward and crashed his lips onto Yukino's.
End of Chapter 10
