Chapter 17: The First Day of the Grand Magical Games!
"So Fairy Tail managed to get two teams to qualify, the games will certainly be interesting" stated Rouge after the second Fairy Tail team was announced to the stadium. Jay was waiting in the tunnel along with the rest of the Sabertooth team, his body filled with excitement as Sting started to speak.
"It doesn't matter how many teams Fairy Tail has, Sabertooth is going to knock them all down" responded Sting in a confident tone. Nodding his head in agreement, Jay started to speak.
"You got that right Sting, Fairy Tail and everyone else is going to be crushed" responded Jay, not having any reservations about facing Lucy's guild. Shortly after Jay said these words, the announcer was heard over the speaker system.
"And last but certainly not least is the team that came in first place in the preliminaries" shouted the announcer over the speaker system while the crowd started to cheer. Jay smiled from ear to ear as he lifted the flagpole that had a large flag of Sabertooth he was carrying.
"This is it everyone. Let's remind everyone why Sabertooth is number one" stated Jay in a confident tone, eager to show everyone his strength once again.
"That's right! You know them! You love them! Get on your feet and scream for the most powerful guild in all of Fiore" shouted the announcer, the crowd becoming more and more excited as Jay started to walk out of the tunnel with the rest of the team.
"The one and only Sabertooth" yelled the announcer, the crowd going wild as Jay walked out into the arena along with the rest of his team. Walking out into the arena, Jay soaked in the cheers of the crowd as he waved the flag of Sabertooth with pride. Stopping in the middle of the arena, Jay planted the flag of Sabertooth into the ground as he shouted at the top of his lungs.
"WHO DO YOU LOVE" yelled Jay to the crowd.
"SABERTOOTH" yelled the crowd, confetti falling as the arena celebrated the strongest guild in the kingdom. Still basking in the praise of the cheering crowd, Jay started to shout.
"WHOSE THE STONGEST GUILD IN FIORE" yelled Jay as the crowd quickly responded.
"SABERTOOTH" yelled the crowd, their cheers almost deafening. Waiting for the cheering to die down, Jay started to speak.
"Listen up" yelled Jay to both the crowd and all of the guilds standing in the arena. Seeing that he had everyone's attention, including Fairy Tail's, Jay continued to speak.
"Sabertooth is going to crush every guild here into dust and toss them into the wind" yelled Jay as the crowd cheered once again for the number one guild in the kingdom. As the guild continued to cheer, Jay walked up to Fairy Tail team A and started to speak to Lucy.
"I hope you don't hold any of this against me sis, but your team is going to be crushed. I'm not going to hold anything back" stated Jay with a confident smile. Smiling back at Jay, Lucy started to speak.
"I'm not going to go easy either Jay, give us your best because Fairy Tail is going to win no matter what" responded Lucy in a confident tone.
"I can't wait to beat you guys" stated Natsu in a determined tone. Turning his attention towards Natsu, Jay started to speak.
"Sorry Natsu but you are way out of our league, you'll learn that soon enough" responded Jay in a confident tone. Soon after Jay said these words the rules of the Grand Magic games were explained, and the guilds were told to choose someone to participate in the first event. Turning his attention towards the rest of the Sabertooth team, Jay started to speak.
"Let me take this one, I'm itching to show off" stated Jay in a confident tone, his team agreeing to have him be the participant. Soon the rest of the guilds choose their participants and Jay waited for his name to be called.
"And from Fairy Tail Team A, it's Gray Fullbuster" shouted the announcer.
"So, Lucy's team is sending in that idiot Gray" stated Jay to himself, remembering how Gray ignores someone like Juvia.
"From Fairy Tail Team B, it's Juvia Lockser" shouted the announcer while Jay chuckled to himself at these words.
"Damn I almost feel bad for Juvia. Being in a competition against me is a guaranteed lose for her" stated Jay almost feeling bad for Juvia since she would be no match for him.
"And representing Sabertooth it's Jay Heartfilia" shouted the announcer as the crowd cheered for Jay. Jay could hear some conversations from the crowd at the announcement of his last name.
"Wait I didn't know Jay from Sabertooth is a Heartfilia" stated a member of the crowd, serval others voicing similar statements. Jay wished he could keep his last name a secret, but he supposed it was too late for that now, the guild master registered him with his last name once he learned about it last month. Once all of the participants were announced, the rules of the event were explained.
"So, it's a big game of hide and seek made more complicated with all the fakes placed around the area" asked Jay to himself in an amused tone. Smirking to himself, Jay continued to speak.
"This is perfect, it's like this game was made for someone like me" stated Jay to himself, thinking that he had a massive advantage in this game that almost made things unfair to everyone else. It didn't matter how many fakes were placed around the area or how well the other guild members hid, with his strong sense of smell Jay could hunt everyone down with ease.
"To summarize, all participants have ten minutes to score as many points as possible. A successful strike that deals damage to the target results in one point for the attacker and a loss of a point for the one attacked. You can also lose points if you strike a fake" shouted the announcer, making sure everyone understood the rules. Taking his assigned spot in the arena that had been transformed to look like the streets of a large city, Jay waited for the start of the competition.
"Let the game Hidden, begin" yelled the announcer, Jay immediately jumping into action once the competition started. Sniffing the air, Jay smiled as he picked up on a familiar and pleasant scent. Figuring he should start off with scoring an easy point, Jay followed the pleasant scent. Racing through the streets of Hidden, Jay soon stopped in front of his destination.
"That was an impressive take down Juvia" stated Jay with a smile as he stood in front of Juvia and Gray. Jay had arrived in time to see Juvia successfully attack the Lamia Scale wizard. Juvia and Gray turned to face Jay while Juvia started to speak.
"Juvia thanks you Jay but now you will fall as well" responded Juvia in a determined tone. As Juvia took a step towards Jay as she started to channel her magical power, Jay laughed to himself before he started to speak.
"Sorry Juvia but you have zero chance of beating me" responded Jay in a confident tone. Having an annoyed look, Gray started to speak.
"Hey don't underestimate Juvia. You Sabertooth wizards have way too big of an ego" responded Gray in an annoyed tone. In response to Gray's words, Juvia fawned over him with hearts in her eyes as she started to speak.
"Gray just complimented Juvia" shouted Juvia with hearts in her eyes, temporarily forgetting about Jay until he started to laugh.
"I'm not underestimating you, Juvia. Juvia I know about your magic, and I think you are amazing. There is no doubt you are one badass woman, it's just in a fight I am your absolute worst nightmare" responded Jay in an amused tone, once again feeling bad that someone as lovely as Juvia had to face specially him in battle. Not understanding what Jay was talking about and wanting to have his smug grin wiped off his face, Gray started to speak.
"Juvia put Jay in his place" responded Gray in an annoyed tone that another person was underestimating the power of Fairy Tail. Nodding her head with a smile, Juvia started to speak.
"Yes my beloved. Water Nebula" yelled Juvia as she fired a huge column of water. Juvia and Gray along with the rest of Fairy Tail watched as Juvia's attack collided with Jay.
"Alright! Juvia got him" stated Natsu in an excited tone as he watched Juvia's attack collide with Jay.
"Hold on, if Juvia got him then why hasn't her points increased" asked Erza in a confused tone, indicating that Juvia's point total hadn't changed despite successfully hitting Jay with her attack. Just after Erza said these words she watched along with everyone else as Jay started to suck in his breath. As Jay started to suck in his breath, Juvia's water attack flowing into his mouth.
"Juvia doesn't understand" stated Juvia in shock as she watched Jay swallow her attack, not affected at all. A look of realization dawned on Lucy as the puzzle pieces in her head clicked while she started to speak.
"Wait, don't tell me Jay is" Lucy started to say in disbelief, remembering Jay's awful motion sickness and how he was able to tell Natsu and Happy were in her home before they walked in. After absorbing Juvia's water attack, Jay felt the exponential surge in his own magical power as he started to speak.
"Thanks for the drink Juvia, I was getting kind of parched" responded Jay with a smile. Still not understanding what was happening, Juvia started to speak.
"How could you not be affected by Juvia's attack" asked Juvia in a shocked tone, seeing that Jay didn't have a single scratch on him. Smiling confidently at Juvia while he started to channel his magical power, Jay started to speak.
"It's like I said Juvia. In battle I am your worst nightmare. Your attacks are worse than useless against me" responded Jay in a confident tone as he channeled his magical power into his fist. Rushing towards Juvia, Jay continued to speak.
"Water Dragon Deep Sea Fist" yelled Jay as he aimed a punch charged with his magical energy towards Juvia. Not intimidated by Jay's attack, Juvia started to speak.
"Physical attacks don't work against Juvia's water bo" Juvia started to say before Jay's fist connected, sending her flying backwards before she vanished due to the rules of the game Hidden. Still having a confident smile on his face, Jay started to speak.
"Sorry Juvia but as the Water Dragon Slayer, I nullify all other water magic" stated Jay in a confidant tone as he turned his attention towards Gray. Channeling more of his magical power, Jay continued to speak.
"Now it's your turn! Water Dragon Cyclone Kick" yelled Jay as he spun around and kicked towards Gray, his foot charged with magical energy that created a powerful cyclone of water. Gray grunted in pain, Jay moved too fast for him to properly react. Flying backwards as Jay's attack connected, Gray soon vanished as Jay scored another point in the game Hidden. Lucy along with the rest of Fairy Tail were watching in awe as Jay easily took down Juvia and Gray.
"No way, Jay is a dragon slayer" asked Lucy in a shocked tone.
"It certainly makes sense why Jay was so confident that Juvia could never beat him. If he's the water dragon slayer then Juvia's magic is useless against him" responded Erza as she continued to watch the match. Jay sniffed the air, picking up on another scent close by. Turning towards the direction of the scent, Jay started to speak.
"You can't hide from me. I can smell you hiding over there" stated Jay in an amused tone as he channeled his magical power. Aiming his hand towards the area he knew someone was hiding, Jay continued to speak.
"Water Dragon Kraken Strike" yelled Jay as an extendable whip made of water erupted from his hand and raced toward the person that was nearby. The Raven Tail wizard grunted in pain as he was hit by Jay's attack and then vanished.
"Amazing! Another point for Jay from Sabertooth" shouted the announcer as Jay's points increased by one. Filled with the sort of excitement that he could only get from dominating in battle, Jay soon picked up on another scent and followed it.
"This is bad. As a dragon slayer Jay has an enormous advantage in this match" stated Erza in a worried tone as she watched Jay race through the streets, ignoring the multiple copies of the competitors. Nodding her head in agreement, Lucy started to speak.
"Yah if Jay is a dragon slayer then that means he has the same strong sense of smell as Natsu or Gajeel. Jay can sniff out where everyone is hiding" responded Lucy as she watched Jay take out another competitor.
"Man, this sucks! If Jay is a dragon slayer then I want to fight him, but I'm stuck up here" stated Natsu in an annoyed tone.
"Wait so Lucy does this mean that your brother was trained by a dragon like Natsu" asked Elfman in a confused tone. Shaking her head, Lucy started to speak.
"I don't think so, at least not when he was living at home" responded Lucy.
"Jay must be a second generation dragon slayer like Laxus" responded Erza thinking that was the only possible explanation why Jay was able to use dragon slaying magic.
"Whatever type of dragon slayer he is I want to show him I'm the stronger dragon slayer" stated Natsu in an excited tone. Lucy sighed with exhaustion as she started to speak.
"Don't you think fighting a water dragon slayer would put you at a massive disadvantage" asked Lucy thinking that Jay's water attacks would easily overpower Natsu's fire.
"My flames can't be beat by a little bit of water" responded Natsu in an annoyed tone before Erza hit him over the head as she started to speak.
"Be quiet Natsu and observe the match. Jay will be a tough opponent to beat so we should take the opportunity to study his fighting style" responded Erza in a stern tone as she continued to watch Jay easily dominate the competition.
"Amazing, another double knock out for Jay Heartfilia! Jay is making short work of the competition and is showing no signs of stopping" shouted the announcer after Jay scored successful hits of Lyon and Gray. Sniffing the air, Jay raced towards his next target as he started to speak.
"This is too easy" stated Jay as he easily dodged an attack from the Blue Pegus wizard, the wizard being insignificant enough that Jay didn't bother to remember his name. After dodging the attack, Jay crashed his fist into the Blue Pegus wizard as he yelled out his attack.
"Water Dragon Deep Sea Fist" yelled Jay as his attack sent the Blue Pegus wizard crashing backwards before he vanished, and Jay's score went up by another point. Taking another moment to sniff the air, Jay picked up on a pleasant sea breeze scent. Turning his direction towards the sea breeze scent, Jay started to speak.
"So Juvia is in that direction, man even her scent is amazing" stated Jay thinking that Gray was an idiot for ignoring the affections of someone like Juvia. Taking a look at the scores of all the competitors, Jay figured his should ignore Juvia since she was near the bottom of the list. It seemed that Gray and Juvia were being hounded by the Raven Tail wizard and Jay didn't need to add to the troubles when he could just focus on the other competitors.
"Don't daydream in the middle of a match" stated Lyon in an annoyed tone as he channeled his magical energy before he shouted his attack.
"Ice Make Eagle" shouted Lyon as multiple eagles made of ice flew towards Jay. Thinking that he caught Jay off guard, Lyon smiled when he watched his attack crash into Jay. Lyon's smile soon faded when he watched who he believed to be Jay turn into water before falling to the ground.
"What the" stated Lyon before he was cut off by Jay who morphed out of a puddle behind him and started to speak.
"Water Dragon Slayer Water Decoy" stated Jay in an amused tone before he delivered a powerful kick across Lyon's jaw, scoring yet another point.
"Jay is certainly versatile. It seems he not only excels in close physical combat but has plenty of tricks like making a decoy of himself" stated Erza in an impressed tone thinking that maybe Jay wasn't full of it when he declared he would beat her in battle. Nodding her head in agreement, Lucy started to speak.
"Yah this is unreal. I still remember Jay as the little kid that always followed me around our mansion. It's surprising to see him as such a strong wizard" responded Lucy in an impressed tone despite the fact that Jay was the competition.
"Forget Jay! That ice prick is doing terrible" shouted Natsu in an angry tone as Gray was once again targeted by Raven Tail. Running through the streets in search of his next victim, Jay noticed that Gray was once again hit by the Raven Tail wizard.
"Man, that's the fifth time Gray has been targeted by that guy. I wonder if Raven Tail has some sort of grudge against Fairy Tail" stated Jay to himself thinking that maybe he would ask Lucy later if there was bad history between the two guilds. Smiling to himself as he picked up on another scent, Jay continued to speak.
"Sorry in advance about this" stated Jay as he sniffed out the Mermaid Heel wizard. Channeling his magical power, Jay continued to speak.
"I hope you don't hold this against me but you're in Sabretooth's way" shouted Dante as he punched the unsuspecting Mermaid Heel wizard. Smiling to himself as the announcer announced Jay's successful hit, Jay continued to speak.
"That makes sixteen for me and I still have a couple of minutes left. I just wish these guys could be a bit stronger, it's almost no fun when it's this easy" stated Jay to himself thinking that things would be a lot more fun if Erza was competing instead. So far Jay wasn't impressed with Gray, he was getting beat badly and looked weak. Juvia wasn't faring much better, but she at least had the excuse of getting distracted by all of the Gray clones. Sighing to himself, Jay hoped that he could convince Juvia to one day focus on him rather than the ice idiot that paid her zero attention. After a few more minutes the announcer shouted over the speaker system.
"That's it! The game Hidden is over" shouted the announcer over the speaker system as Jay finished up smacking Lyon into the ground once again. With a proud smile Jay turned his attention to the scoreboard as the announcer continued to speak.
"In first place with a complete domination of the competition is Jay Heartfilia with thirty two points! With that Jay scores ten point for Sabertooth" shouted the announcer as the crowd cheered for Jay. As Jay celebrated his victory he noticed that Gray scored dead last with Juvia scoring second to last. Jay hoped that Lucy and the rest of her guild wouldn't take the loss too badly, but he supposed they should get used to the idea of defeat since Sabertooth was guaranteed to win the games.
"You were great out their Jay" stated Yukino in a sweet tone as Jay took his place standing with the rest of the team. Smiling back at Yukino, Jay started to speak.
"Come on, don't tell me you are surprised I won Yukino. It was a piece of cake" responded Jay with a confident smile. Still smiling at Yukino, Jay continued to speak.
"Although if you want to reward me with a kiss I wouldn't object" stated Jay in a flirty tone as he leaned closer to Yukino. Yukino blushed at Jay's open affection despite being near the rest of the Sabertooth team. Smiling sweetly at Jay, Yukino leaned forward and placed a short and loving kiss on his lips before she leaned back.
"Geez get a room you two" stated Sting in an amused tone. While Yukino was blushing even more at these words, Jay started to speak.
"That's definitely the plan for later" responded Jay with a smile as he wrapped his hand around Yukino's waist and pulled her close to him. Blushing an even deeper shade of red from Jay's words, Yukino started to speak.
"J-Jay" exclaimed Yukino in an embarrassed tone, blushing crimson at how open and bold Jay was being. Laughing lightly to himself, Jay started to speak.
"Haha sorry Yukino I couldn't resist. You're just so cute when you blush like that" responded Jay in an amused tone. Yukino smiled at Jay's words, despite her embarrassment she enjoyed it whenever Jay called her cute. Scoffing at the couple, Sting started to speak.
"Watching you two be this affectionate with each other is starting to get annoying" stated Sting in an annoyed tone. Tightening his hold around Yukino's waist and bringing her closer to him, Jay started to speak.
"Then don't watch" responded Jay before he turned his attention back towards Yukino and kissed her forehead which made Yukio blush all over again. While Jay was getting lost in Yukino's eyes, he felt a nudge on his shoulder.
"Don't get distracted. The one on one battles are going to start soon" stated Orga as he indicated that the announcer was getting ready to announce the first battle for the day. Smiling to himself, Jay started to speak.
"It doesn't matter who they pair Sabertooth against, they are going down" responded Jay in a confident tone as his team readily agreed with his words. Soon after Jay said these words, the announcer started to speak.
"The first match of the day will put Sabertooth against Fairy Tail team A" stated the announcer over the speaker system before he continued to speak.
"In the first match it will be Jay Heartfilia of Sabertooth versus Lucy Heartfilia of Fairy Tail Team A" yelled the announcer in an excited tone.
"W-what?! I have to fight against Jay" asked Lucy in an apprehensive tone since Jay had just displayed he was a powerful wizard. Seeing Lucy's nervousness about the upcoming fight, Erza started to speak to her.
"Come on Lucy don't get nervous. I have full confidence in you" stated Erza in a supportive tone.
"Yah! Go and show Jay the power of Fairy Tail" stated Natsu in his typical loud tone. Taking a moment to take a deep breath in order to steady her nerves, Lucy started to speak.
"R-right, I can do this" responded Lucy as she looked across the stadium with determination in her eyes.
"So I have to fight Lucy huh" asked Jay to himself with a confidant smile before he continued to speak.
"Sorry Lucy but it looks like your team is going to score zero points for the day" stated Jay, completely confident that he could beat his older sister in a fight with ease since he knew her magic very well. Soon Jay and Lucy walked into the middle of the combat area while the announcer shouted over the speaker system.
"This is sure to be a battle to remember. It's brother versus sister in this fight! On one side we have Lucy Heartfilia, the celestial mage from Fairy Tail and on the other side we have Jay Heartfilia, the water dragon slayer from Sabertooth! Who will emerge victorious" shouted the announcer over the speaker system. While Jay and Lucy stood against each other and waited for the match to start, the crowd was chanting Jay's name as if they had already decided that Jay was going to win.
"I hope you don't hold it against me Lucy when I beat you. We might be brother and sister, but I have the pride of Sabertooth to fight for" stated Jay with a smile. Giving Jay a determined look, Lucy started to speak.
"I don't want you to take it easy on me Jay. Give me your best because that's what I intend to give you" responded Lucy in a determined tone, her body tensing as she waited for the announcer to begin the match. Jay and Lucy were silent as they waited for the match to begin.
"Let the match begin" shouted the announcer in an excited tone as the crowd cheered. As soon as the match started Lucy took out a spirit key and started to speak.
"Open Gate of the Golden Bull, Taurus" shouted Lucy as she used her magical power to summon Taurus, the strong bull starting to speak.
"Mooooo who needs beating miss Lucy" stated Taurus as he lifted his giant axe. Lifting his axe, Tarus rushed towards Jay. Smiling at the large bull standing in front of him, Jay started to speak.
"Hey Taurus, long time no see. How have you been" asked Jay as he easily dodged the attack from Taurus. With a surprised look, Taurus started to speak while he swung his axe towards Jay.
"Mooo Jay is that you" asked Taurus in a surprised tone since the last time he saw Jay he was a little boy. Smiling at Taurus as he easily dodged the swing of his axe, Jay started to speak.
"Yah it's me Taurus, it's good to see you. Sorry I got to do this to you" responded Jay in a confident tone as he channeled his magical power. Jumping into the air, Jay spun around as he continued to speak.
"Water Dragon Cyclone Kick" yelled Jay as his powerful magically charged kick collided with Taurus's axe, a large whirlpool of water erupting from Jay's kick. Caught in the strong current of the whirlpool, Taurus started to speak.
"Mooo you're gotten stronger" stated Taurus in a pained tone as he was caught in the strong whirlpool, his body bruised from Jay's powerful kick. Panicking as she watched Taurus be easily overpowered, she started to speak.
"Taurus are you okay" asked Lucy in a worried tone as Taurus stumbled backwards, panting in pain and exhaustion as he tried to steady himself.
"Mooo I'm fine miss Lucy. I'm just shaken up; Jay has gotten really strong" responded Taurus knowing that he wouldn't be able to more than a couple more hits like the one he just did. Standing a few feet away from Lucy, Jay smiled confidently at her as he started to speak.
"What are you going to do now Lucy? Brute force isn't going to stop me" stated Jay in a confident tone since even Lucy's physically strongest spirit couldn't beat him in one on one combat. Deciding it was time to show Jay the results of her training, Lucy smiled as she started to speak.
"If Taurus isn't enough then I will just give him some backup" responded Lucy as she pulled out another spirit key. Seeing what Lucy was doing, Jay had a surprised look on his face as he started to speak.
"Hold on can you really summon more than one spirit at the same time" asked Jay in a shocked tone since he was sure Yukino was the only celestial wizard that was capable of summoning more than one spirit. Smiling at Jay, Lucy started to speak.
"Yes I can, I trained really hard to be able to do this. Open Gate of the Scorpion, Scorpio" shouted Lucy as she summoned Scorpio. Scorpio appeared next to Taurus as he started to speak.
"It's about time you summoned me Lucy. You ready Taurus" asked Scorpio with a smile. Nodding his head as he readied his massive axe, Taurus started to speak.
"Mooo yes I am" responded Taurus, ready to show Jay that the fight was far from over.
"Scorpio you need to trap Jay with your sand magic" shouted Lucy hoping that her plan would work. Nodding his head in understanding, Scorpio started to speak.
"You got it Lucy, leave it to me" responded Scorpio before he shot a large blast of sand towards Jay. Jay jumped out of the way, easily dodging the attack. While Jay was still in the air, Taurus jumped in front of him and attempted to cleave him with his axe. Reaching above his head, Jay used his hands and caught the sides of Taurus's axe. Using his own strength, Jay was able to stop the axe from being brought down onto his head. Now Jay and Taurus were standing as Taurus struggled to overpower Jay.
"Mooo I can't believe that little Jay is this physically strong" stated Taurus as he struggled to lower his axe. Jay smiled confidently at Taurus, showing much less strain as he slowly started to lift the axe away from him. While Jay and Taurus continued to struggle against each other's strength, Scorpio started to speak.
"That's great Taurus, keep him still" shouted Scorpio in an excited tone since this was the perfect opening. Channeling his magical power, Scorpio shot a massive sandstorm towards Jay and Taurus. The sandstorm soon surrounded Jay and Taurus as Lucy cheered. Feeling the effects of the sandstorm, Jay smiled to himself as he started to speak.
"I see what you are trying to do Lucy. You think since I am the water dragon slayer that if you dry me out then I will get weaker" stated Jay in a confidant tone as he continued to struggle against Taurus. Not showing any signs of weakness, Jay continued to speak.
"That may be true but I know my weakness far better than you do. I spent the past month training while dehydrated so a little sandstorm will do nothing to weaken me now" stated Jay before he ripped Taurus's axe out of his hand. Once Taurus no longer had his axe, Jay tossed it away before he continued to speak.
"Water Dragon Deep Sea Fist" yelled Jay as his magically charged fist collied with Taurus's gut, sending him flying backwards and crashing into the wall near Lucy.
"Taurus are you okay" asked Lucy in a worried tone since Taurus could not stand back up. Grunting in pain as he felt himself start to fade back to the spirit world, Taurus started to speak.
"Moooo sorry Lucy, I can't goooo on" responded Taurus before he faded away. Lucy was taken aback that one of her best spirits was taken out with ease and she soon learned her troubles were just beginning. Suddenly the sandstorm surrounding Jay was blasted away by a large collum of water. Once the collum of water settled down, Jay was standing unharmed as he started to speak.
"I hope that wasn't your only plan Lucy, it's going to take a lot more than that to beat me" stated Jay in a confidant tone as he charged his magical energy. Building up enough magical energy, Jay started to speak.
"Water Dragon Shark Bullet" shouted Jay as a shark made of water erupted from his open palm and flew towards Scorpio. The shark made of water opened its jaw wide, showing it's razor sharp teeth as it flew toward Scorpio who wasn't fast enough to dodge the attack. Colliding into Scorpio, the water shark took a huge bite out of the spirit before the attack broke apart.
"Sorry Lucy" stated Scorpio in a pained tone just before he vanished back into the spirit world. Taking a step towards Lucy with a confident smile, Jay started to speak.
"What are you going to do now Lucy? Got any more spirits that need a beatdown" asked Jay in a confident tone. Jay knew that he could rush towards Lucy and end this match right now, physical combat was after all the weakness of all celestial wizards, but Jay was having too much fun to end the match so soon.
"I'm ready whenever you are Lucy, send out your next spirit" stated Jay in a confidant tone. Lucy took a step back as she tried to think what she was going to do. After thinking for a quick moment, Lucy decided to try the combo move with Gemini that she had developed but that would take time. Knowing that she needed to buy time until her attack with Gemini was ready, Lucy brought out another golden sprit key as she started to speak.
"Alright if you're so confident then let's see how you hand this one" responded Lucy as she channeled her magical power before she continued to speak.
"Open gate of the lion, Leo" shouted Lucy as the leader of the zodiac spirits appeared in front of her.
"You need me to beat this guy for you Lucy" asked Leo with a smile as he stood against Jay. Nodding her head, Lucy started to speak.
"That's right, I need you to hold Jay back while I work out my next attack with Gemini" responded Lucy before she summoned Gemini to her side. Smiling at Lucy's words, Leo started to speak.
"So you're going with that attack. All right I'll hold this guy back, he doesn't look so tough" responded Leo with a smile before he rushed towards Leo. Jay smiled; he was excited to see what the leader of the zodiac spirits could do.
"Regulus Impact" yelled Leo in a confidant tone as he punched towards Jay, he was sure that this attack would send Jay flying. Instead of moving to dodge the attack, Jay smiled as he channeled his own magical power before he started to speak.
"Water Dragon Deep Sea Fist" yelled Jay as his magically charged fist collied with Leo's fist. Water and light magic collided with one another as the two attacks canceled each other out. Surprised that his attack was canceled out, Leo started to speak.
"What?! How could you meet my attack like that" asked Leo in a shocked tone while his fist was still connected with Jay's. Smiling at Leo, Jay started to speak.
"I've trained day and night to get this level of strength Leo, and what you see now is years of training. Of course, I know all about you and your abilities" responded Jay in a confident tone as he jumped some distance away from Leo. Intrigued by Jay's words, Leo started to speak.
"I'm flattered you've heard about me, but you have me at a disadvantage since I don't know anything about you" responded Leo in an amused tone thinking that for some reason he liked Jay despite him being Lucy's enemy. Chuckling lightly to himself, Jay started to speak.
"You're telling me you don't recognize the family resemblance" asked Jay in an amused tone. Jay's words made things click inside Leo's head as he started to speak.
"Wait, don't tell me you are related to Lucy" responded Leo thinking to himself how could he miss the strong family resemblance. Nodding his head, Jay started to speak.
"That's right, I'm Lucy's little brother all grown up. Lucy was the one to inherit our mother's keys, so I had to learn my own form of magic. Luckily thanks to a Water Dragon Slaying Lacrima placed inside me I have become unbelievably strong. Now I can defeat the leader of the zodiac spirits with ease" responded Jay in a confident tone as he started to run towards Leo.
"We'll see about that" responded Leo as he readied himself to doge Jay's attack. Jumping out of way from Jay's punch, Leo continued to speak.
"You might be Lucy's little brother but that doesn't change that I need to beat you for Lucy's sake" stated Leo before he tried to roundhouse kick Jay. Jumping backwards, Jay was able to dodge Leo's attack as he started to speak.
"That's easier said than done Leo. I'll show you why I'm called the battle king of Sabertooth" responded Jay in a confident tone as he readied his magical power. Channeling his magical power, Jay continued to speak.
"Water Dragon Twin Kraken Strike" shouted Jay as two long and extendable whips made of water formed around his arms. Using the extendable whips of water, Jay attacked Leo. Seeing the attacks coming, Leo was able to jump out of the way.
"Is that the best you can do" asked Leo in a confident tone as he jumped into the air to avoid the water whips. Smiling at Leo, Jay started to speak.
"Not even close" responded Jay as the water whips suddenly changed direction and flew towards Leo. Surprised that Jay could control the water whips to this degree, Leo was unprepared and shieled his body with his arms. Leo grunted in pain as the water whips collied with his arms, sending him crashing into the ground as Jay continued to speak.
"I'm still just getting warmed up" stated Jay with a smile as he used the water whips to attack Leo once again. Again, Leo didn't have any time to react and grunted in pain as the water whips pummeled him into the ground.
"Ahhh" grunted Leo in pain as his body was damaged from Jay's strong attack, the ground breaking apart around him as he was continuously pummeled into the ground.
"Come on you can do better than that! I thought the leader of the zodiac spirits would put up a better fight than this" stated Jay in an amused tone as he continued to relentless assault, not giving Leo a change to stand back up.
"Loki! Just hold on for a bit longer" shouted Lucy in a worried tone. Lucy wanted to jump in and help her friend, but she couldn't move from her spot as she channeled her magical power alongside Gemini.
"This is bad, Jay is too strong for even Loki" stated Erza in a worried tone as she watched Jay easily overpower one of Lucy's strongest spirits.
Continuing his assault, Jay was aware that Lucy was planning something. Jay knew that like Yukino, Lucy viewed her spirits as friends and family so she wouldn't sit still while he pummeled her spirit unless she had a good reason. Attacking Leo once again with his water whips, Jay then readied himself for the finishing blow. Jumping high into the air, Jay focused his magical power into a single point at his knee as he started to speak.
"Water Dragon Slamming Anchor Knee" yelled Jay as he crashed his knee into Leo, breaking apart the ground around the impact area. Leo grunted in pain as he felt his ribs break under the immense force.
"AHHHH" yelled Leo in pain as Jay's attack delivered the finishing blow. Jumping back from the small crater that Jay just made, he smiled confidently as Leo staid still while he started to speak.
"S-sorry Lucy, I can't move. I can't fight anymore" stated Leo in a pained tone as he faded back into the spirit world. Turning his attention towards Lucy, Jay started to speak.
"Even the leader of the zodiac spirits is no match for me, what are you going to do now Lu" Jay started to say before he stopped what he was saying when he noticed the immense magical power coming from Lucy and Gemini who had transformed into Lucy.
"Now it's my turn Jay" shouted Lucy as she finished charging her attack. Channeling the majority of her magical power, Lucy continued to speak.
"Sound out the heavens, open the heavens. Stars across the universe, show yourselves to me with all your brilliance" chanted Lucy and Gemini. Jay was stunned with the amount of magical power that Lucy was displaying.
"Damn I didn't think Lucy had something like this up her sleeve" stated Jay in an impressed tone as Lucy continued to chant.
"Open thy savage gate" chanted Lucy and Gemini, the arena being filled with a bight light as Jay prepared to see what Lucy was going to do next. Smiling confidently at Lucy as she continued to charge her attack, Jay started to speak.
"This is great Lucy! Show me what you got" shouted Jay in an excited tone, his blood running hot with the thrill of a good battle.
"88 stars of the heavens, Open" yelled Lucy as stars filled the arena. Looking around Jay again was impressed this his older sister could display this level of magical power.
Urano Metria" yelled Lucy as countless streams of bright light flowed into the arena, all of them polling into Lucy as she prepared to fire her attack. Smiling confidently at Lucy, Jay shouted at her.
"GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT" yelled Jay in an excited tone as the arena was filled with a blinding light. Soon after Jay said these words, Lucy fired her attack. The ground was ripped apart as Lucy's earth shattering attack crashed into Jay. With the intensity of the bright light, it was hard to see what was happening, but the crowd watched in awe as Lucy's powerful attack collided with Jay. After the light faded and Lucy was left panting alongside Gemini, the announcer started to speak.
"I don't believe it! It seems Lucy from Fairy Tail has blown away her opponent, Jay has vanished from the arena" yelled the announcer over the speaker system. Sure enough there was no one standing where Jay once was, the arena was left a absolute mess after Lucy's attack. Panting with exhaustion after using the majority of her magical power, Lucy became worried that her attack might have been too much.
"No don't tell me Jay's gone" stated Lucy to herself out of breath, feeling panicking raising within her at the thought of unintentionally killing her little brother. After another moment of worry, Lucy noticed a puddle of water where Jay was just standing, and a new surge of worry ran through her.
"N-no that's not possible" stated Lucy in a shocked tone. After Lucy said these words, she along with everyone else in the arena watched as Jay morphed out of a puddle of water. Smiling at Lucy, Jay showed that he was uninjured from Lucy's devastating attack.
"Water Dragon Water Decoy" stated Jay in an amused tone as he shook off the excess water from his body. Seeing the stunned look on Lucy's face, Jay continued to speak.
"That was an impressive attack Lucy. If I was actually hit by that then I could have been in some real trouble. I have to admit I didn't expect this level of magical power from you Lucy, bravo" stated Jay in a confident tone before he continued to speak.
"Next time I suggest you make sure you are aiming for your opponent and not a decoy" stated Jay in an amused tone before he rushed towards Lucy. Lucy was still out of breath from the drain on her magical power so she couldn't react in time. While Lucy couldn't react in time, Gemini was able to jump in front of Lucy.
"We'll protect you Lucy" stated the Lucy-Gemini clone. With his fist charged with magical energy, Jay didn't stop his forward charge as he started to speak.
"Out of my way! Water Dragon Deep Sea Fist" yelled Jay as his fist collided into Gemini, sending them flying before they vanished from the devastating attack. Focusing his attention on Lucy, Jay continued to speak.
"What are you going to do now that you're all alone" asked Jay in an amused tone as he punched towards Lucy. Finding the strength to move, Lucy was able to barely dodge the attack. Jumping a few feet back, Lucy knew that she couldn't give up with everyone in Fairy Tail cheering her on and counting on her. Taking out her whip, Lucy tried to attack Jay. Easily jumping out of the way, Jay landed a few feet away from Lucy as he started to speak.
"Come on Lucy that still can't be all you got. You still haven't summoned your strongest spirit, why are you holding back" asked Jay in an amused tone since the answer to his question was obvious. Lucy knew what Jay was talking about and she would have used that trump card a long time ago but against Jay it would be worse than useless. Seeing Lucy's frustrated look, Jay chuckled to himself as he continued to speak.
"Oh that's right, you haven't summoned Aquarius because despite being your strongest spirit she would be useless against me" stated Jay in an amused tone.
"I don't need Aquarius to beat you" responded Lucy in a determined tone as she readied herself for combat again. Laughing lightly to himself, Jay started to speak.
"That's a lot of confidence Lucy. You can barely stand, and I haven't taken even a scratch of damage. Still I would have liked to see Aquarius again, it's been so long" responded Jay in an amused tone before he took an object out of his pocket and continued to speak.
"So, if you won't summon Aquarius then I will" stated Jay as he showed Lucy he had Aquarius's spirit key. Surprised that Jay had her key, she started to speak.
"Wait when did you" asked Lucy before she realized that Jay must have swiped it from her when she narrowly dodged his attack. Chuckling to himself Jay started to speak.
"Don't forget Lucy that our mom's blood runs through my veins also. I might not have a contract with Aquarius but I'm betting as a Heartfilia I can still pull off a summon" stated Jay in a confident tone as he used his magical power to produce a large collum of water. Placing the sprit key in the large collum of water, Jay channeled his magical energy as he continued to speak.
"Open gate of the Water Bearer, Aquarius" stated Jay with a smile as he summoned Aquarius within the collum of water. Lucy along with the rest of Fairy watched with shocked faces as Jay successfully summoned Aquarius.
"I don't believe it" stated Lucy shocked that Jay was able to pull off a summon despite never practicing celestial magic before.
"Astounding, I didn't think Jay could do something like that since Aquarius is Lucy's spirit" stated Erza in an impressed tone.
"It must be like Jay said. The Heartfilia family has a long history of celestial magic so the ability to summon spirits also runs through his veins" responded Gray impressed that Jay could summon Aquarius.
"Didn't I tell you not to summon me brat unless it's important" stated Aquarius in an annoyed tone.
"I d-didn't summon you" responded Lucy in a nervous tone since she didn't know what Jay was planning on doing next. Aquarius now had a confused look on her face as she started to speak.
"What do you mean you didn't summon me? Who else could" asked Aquarius slightly annoyed since she believed Lucy was lying to her. After saying these words Aquarius's attention was turned towards Jay who started to laugh before he started to speak.
"I was the one who summoned you Aquarius. Nice to see you again, it's been a while" responded Jay with a smile. Aquarius instantly recognized who Jay was and understood how he could summon her without having a contract and her key belonging to Lucy.
"Jay is that really you? You've grown" responded Aquarius in a shocked tone before she continued to speak.
"Hold on what's going on. Why did you summon me instead of Lucy" asked Aquarius in a curious tone. Smiling from ear to ear, Jay started to speak.
"I summoned you to help me out. Lucy and I are currently battling for the pride of our guilds" responded Jay with a confident smile before he continued to speak.
"Alright listen up Aquarius. I summoned you so that means you have to listen to what I say" stated Jay in an authoritative tone. While a vein in her forehead was bulging with anger, Aquarius started to speak.
"Come again" asked Aquarius in an angry tone since Jay was telling her what to do.
"Uh oh, Jay doesn't know that Aquarius doesn't like taking orders like that" stated Lucy somewhat scared for Jay before she realized what he was doing.
"You heard me Aquarius. Now go and attack Lucy on the double and make it quick I don't have all day" responded Jay, seemingly oblivious to Aquarius's anger. Aquarius floated over in front of Lucy before she turned around to face Jay, she was seething with anger as she started to speak.
"Don't think just because your grown or that you summoned me that you can talk to me like that brat! I'll teach you a lesson in respect" yelled Aquarius in an angry tone as she channeled her magical power. Taking a step forward, Lucy started to speak in a panicked tone.
"Wait Aquarius don't attack Jay! That's what he wants you to do" shouted Lucy understanding Jay intentionally got Aquarius mad so she would attack him. It was too late, Aquarius fired off a strong water attack towards Jay who didn't bother moving out of the way. Aquarius watched as her attack collided with Jay, she was confident that after this Jay would know not to talk to her like he just did. Breathing in deeply, Jay started to absorb Aquarius's water attack.
"What the hell? What's going on" asked Aquarius shocked that her attack was swallowed by Jay.
"I was trying to tell you that. Jay is a water dragon slayer, he wanted you to attack him so he could get stronger" responded Lucy in a worried tone as she felt Jay's magical power exponential increase.
"He's what" asked Aquarius in a shocked tone before Lucy and Aquarius turned their attention towards Jay who started to laugh before speaking.
"Sorry Lucy. I had a lot of fun, but this next move is checkmate" stated Jay with a confident smile as he felt the surge in power thanks to absorbing Aquarius's magical attack. Breathing in deeply while he channeled a great amount of magical power, Jay shouted his next attack.
"WATER DRAGON ROAR" shouted Jay as he opened her mouth and let out a might roar, his water magic surging towards Lucy and Aquarius. The rest of Fairy Tail and the crowd watched in awe as Lucy and even Aquarius were overpowered by Jay's devastating attack.
"Oh no Lucy" stated Mira in a worried tone as she watched her friend and guildmate get hit with a devastating roar attack.
"Lucy fought well but it's over. Being hit with a roar like that is not something she can take" stated Laxus in an impressed tone as he watched the fellow dragon slayer let loose a devastating roar attack. The area separating Lucy from Jay was ripped apart from the force of the devastating roar attack, a huge amount of water spraying into the crowd as Jay's attack collied into Lucy and Aquarius.
"NO LUCY" yelled Natsu in a worried tone, gripping onto the railing in a death grip as he watched Lucy get blasted apart. Chuckling in amusement as he watched Natsu and the rest of team Fairy Tail A react with worry and shock, Sting started to speak.
"Natsu shouldn't be surprised. This match was over from the word start" stated Sting with an amused smile. Nodding his head in agreement, Lector started to speak.
"That's right Sting. There was no way that girl could stand against the Battle King" responded Lector with a smile. Soon after Lector said these words, Jay's attack dissipated to show Lucy laying down on her back while the announcer shouted over the speaker system.
"Thats it folks! Lucy is unable to stand, the winner is Jay Heartfilia of Sabertooth" shouted the announcer over the speaker system while Jay reveled in the cheering of the crowd.
"With that victory Jay has scored twenty points in total for his guild, making Sabertooth guaranteed to take first place today" shouted the announcer while Jay pumped his fist in the air.
"Get used to this everyone! Sabertooth is just getting started" shouted Jay to the cheering crowd thinking that they hadn't seen anything yet. Jay knew that Lucy would feel bad for losing and letting her guild down and decided to comfort her later and make sure she was alright but for now Jay reveled in victory. Thanks to him Sabertooth was in first place and Jay would make sure that Sabertooth remained on top.
