Chapter 25: A Date with Lisanna

Jay's face was burning with embarrassment as he ran out of the tavern. Running out of the tavern, Jay felt guilty for his stupid mistake. Thanks to his worry about Yukino, Jay had mistaken Lisanna Strauss for Yukino since they shared a passing resemblance to each other. Having walked into a nearby park, Jay took a seat on a park bench as he started to speak.

"I'm such an idiot" stated Jay to himself, his face still burning with embarrassment thanks to his foolish mistake. For several minutes Jay sat on the park bench, wishing that he could turn back time to prevent his stupid mistake. As Jay wallowed in regret for his actions, he heard a friendly voice start to speak.

"There you are, you ran out so quickly I didn't get a chance to stop and talk to you" stated the last person Jay wanted to face at this moment. Jay felt more embarrassment and regret fill him as Lisanna took a seat beside him.

"Lisanna, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to" responded Jay in a guilty tone before Lisanna cut him off. With a friendly smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"There's no need to apologize Jay, I was just worried about you is all. You seemed really guilty, and I wanted to make sure you were okay" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile. Jay was momentarily speechless at Lisanna's words. Staring dumfounded at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"I suddenly kiss you out of the blue and your response is to be worried about me" asked Jay in a stunned tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Well yah, how else should I react" asked Lisanna in an amused tone. Still dumfounded at Lisanna's reaction to his mistake, Jay started to speak.

"I thought you would be pissed at me. We hardly know each other and I kissed you without warning" responded Jay while Lisanna giggled at his words before she started to speak.

"You're being silly Jay, I'm not mad at you" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, thinking that Jay was being cute with how embarrassed he was being.

"You're not" asked Jay, still fearing that Lisanna was going to slap him across the face at any moment. Giving Jay a friendly smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"No I'm not angry Jay. Like I said, I was just worried about you" responded Lisanna in a friendly tone. Still stunned that Lisanna wasn't angry at him, Jay started to speak.

"Wow well thanks I guess. I wasn't expecting you to be this understanding" responded Jay still embarrassed about his mistake. A moment of silence followed before Lisanna started to speak.

"I do have a question if you don't mind me asking it" stated Lisanna in a friendly tone.

"What is it" asked Jay, thinking he owed Lisanna answers since he mistakenly kissed her.

"Before you kissed me you called me Yukino, why" asked Lisanna in a curious tone. Looking away from Lisanna, Jay felt his face redden with embarrassment as he started to speak.

"Did you hear about what happened to my girlfriend Yukino after she lost her match" asked Jay in a sad tone. Seeing that this was a sore subject for Jay, Lisanna gave him a sympathetic smile as she started to speak.

"When you ran out of the tavern, Lucy stopped me before I ran after you. Lucy told me about what happened to Yukino" responded Lisanna in a sympathetic tone. Still unable to look at Lisanna due to his embarrassment, Jay started to speak.

"Then I'm sure you can imagine I am worried sick about her. I know Yukino told me to not track her down and give her space but that doesn't help with how worried I am. I guess my worry caused me to mistake you for Yukino. You two share a passing resemblance to each other so when I saw you across the tavern I got so excited I mistook you for Yukino" responded Jay in an embarrassed tone. Nodding her head in understanding, Lisanna started to speak.

"I see, that makes sense. You must really miss her" responded Lisanna, whishing she could cheer Jay up. Nodding his head as he looked at the ground, Jay started to speak.

"I do, I miss her so much. I know it's somewhat silly, we've only been apart for a couple days but I just wish I could see her again" responded Jay in a sad tone.

"It's not silly, you love her and are worried she might be hurt" responded Lisanna in an understanding tone. Shaking his head, Jay started to speak.

"That's not it. I do love Yukino, but I don't think she's hurt. Well to be more accurate, I know for a fact she's not hurt at least physically" responded Jay still in a sad tone.

"What do you mean? How can you know Yukino isn't physically hurt" asked Lisanna in a curious tone.

"You know how Dragon Slayer's have a strong sense of smell right" asked Jay, glancing at Lisanna despite his embarrassment. Nodding her head, Lisanna started to speak.

"Yah I know about that. Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy have really strong noses" responded Lisanna, still curious how a strong sense of smell could let Jay know if Yukino was physically okay.

"Well since I am the water dragon slayer my sense of smell can be even stronger than that" responded Jay with a small smile before he continued to speak since Lisanna still had a confused look.

"As the water dragon slayer my nose is like a shark's nose. I can smell a person's blood from an incredible distance, it amplifies their scent to me. Either Yukino is hundreds of miles away from me or she isn't bleeding which means she's likely okay physically" responded Jay, taking comfort in the fact that Yukino was physically hurt. Giving Jay an amused smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"That's an impressive trait Jay but you know there are other reasons why a girl could be bleeding right" asked Lisanna in a playful tone, hoping her response would lighten the mood. Letting out an amused breath of air at Lisana's words, Jay started to speak.

"Yah I know Lisanna and that's different. When a woman bleeds because of what you are referring to it's different to my nose than just an amplified normal scent. When the bleeding is because of that it produces a more metallic scent so I can tell the difference. Besides since I've known Yukino for a while, I know it's not her time of the month" responded Jay with an amused smile, grateful for the distraction Lisanna was providing him. Seeing that Lisanna was giving him a curious look because of his last sentence, Jay continued to speak.

"When you can smell blood like I can it's not that hard to find the pattern" stated Jay with an embarrassed smile. Giggling in amusement at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe when you put it like that I suppose you are right" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, once again thinking Jay was cute when he was embarrassed. While Lisanna continued to give Jay an amused smile, she was concerned when Jay's expression fell once again as he started to speak.

"Thanks for being so forgiving Lisanna, it's a big relief. I should go though" responded Jay before he was cut off as Lisanna started to speak.

"Hold on Jay, you can't leave just yet" responded Lisanna in a friendly tone. Giving Lisanna a curious look, Jay started to speak.

"I can't" asked Jay in a confused tone. Giving Jay an amused smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"Nope you can't. Call me old fashion but since you stole my first kiss I think you need to take me out on a date" responded Lisanna in a flirty tone much to Jay's surprise. Jay gave Lisanna a surprised look as she stood up and smiled at him.

"You really want me to take you out on a date" asked Jay in a shocked tone, thinking that Lisanna was messing with him. Still giving Jay a flirty smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe yes I do, so where are we going" asked Lisanna in a flirty tone. Still surprised at Lisanna's flirtations, Jay started to speak.

"You mean right now" asked Jay, still thinking that Lisanna was messing with him. Giggling in amusement at Jay's reaction, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe yes I mean right now. Do you not want to take me out on a date" asked Lisanna in a teasing tone. Thinking that he offended Lisanna due to his surprise, Jay panicked internally as he started to speak.

"No! I mean that's not it. I would love to take you out on a date Lisanna, I'm just shocked. I accidentally kiss you and instead of being mad at me you want to go on a date with me" asked Jay in disbelief.

"Like I said Jay, I'm old fashioned like that. You stole my first kiss so now you have to take me out on a date. Come on let's go" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, thinking that going on a date with Jay would be fun. Lisanna thought that Jay was handsome and since he was Lucy's brother, Lisanna had a good feeling about Jay and wanted to get to know him better. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay stood up as he started to speak.

"Alright Lisanna let's get going then" responded Jay with a smile, glad that Lisanna wasn't pissed at him. Taking Lisanna's hand in his own, Jay was still in disbelief with his luck. Looking at Lisanna, Jay was looking forward to going on a date with such a cute woman. Feeling butterflies in her stomach from holding Jay's hand, Lisanna started to speak.

"So where are we going Jay" asked Lisanna in a flirty tone as they started to walk out of the park. Giving Lisanna an amused smile, Jay started to speak.

"How should I know, you're the one who asked me out with no warning" responded Jay in an amused tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe maybe I was the one to ask you out but you are the guy so it's up to you to have a plan" responded Lisanna in a flirty tone, finding a giddy warmth filling her thanks to the signature Heartfilia smile Jay was giving her.

"You are really putting me on the spot. I wasn't expecting to go on a date with a lovely woman today, much less the one I accidentally kissed because I'm an idiot" responded Jay, Lisanna blushing at his words as she started to speak.

"You think I'm a lovely woman" asked Lisanna with a cute blush spreading across her face. Once again Jay thanked his luck since he was going on a date with Lisanna after making such an awful mistake.

"Yah I do Lisanna. I may not have known you for very long, but I can already tell you are a kind and caring woman. Plus, you are really cute" responded Jay with a flirty smile, making Lisanna's face blush a deeper shade of pink.

"Oh w-well thanks Jay. I think you are handsome, and Lucy already told me a lot about you so I know you are a great guy" responded Lisanna with a cute blush across her face while her heart was beating quickly due to Jay's words. Being reminded of Lucy, Jay thought she must not have told Lisanna about his incestuous relationship with Lucy.

"I'm flattered you think that Lisanna. I've heard some stories from Lucy about you as well" responded Jay. Seeing the curious look Lisanna gave him, Jay continued to speak in an amused tone.

"Don't worry Lisanna, Lucy had nothing but good things to say about you" responded Jay with a playful smile. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe that's good. I will have to thank Lucy later for putting in a good word for me" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile. Shortly after Lisanna said these words, Jay picked up a pleasant smell in the air and started to speak.

"Something is cooking nearby, and it smells great. Are you hungry Lisanna" asked Jay, thinking that sharing a meal together would be a fun date idea. Nodding her head, Lisanna smiled at Jay as she started to speak.

"I can eat, that sounds like fun" responded Lisanna with a smile before she continued to speak.

"I'm just curious if you can eat more than Natsu" stated Lisanna in a joking tone. Giving Lisanna an amused smile, Jay started to speak.

"You're about to find out how much I can eat, just don't judge me" responded Jay in a joking tone. Giggling in amusement at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe I'm used to seeing my friends eat a lot so you're good Jay" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, liking that in addition to being handsome Jay also was fun to be around. Smiling back at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"That's a relief to hear Lisanna. I should say this now to avoid a fight at the table, don't worry about the bill" responded Jay with a kind smile. With a look of protest on her face, Lisanna started to speak.

"Jay, I can't ask you to do that" responded Lisanna while Jay smiled in amusement at her words before he started to speak.

"You didn't ask Lisanna, I'm offering" responded Jay with a kind smile. Seeing that Lisanna still wanted to protest, Jay continued to speak.

"It's no problem Lisanna, I want to pay for you. This is a date after all, and my mom always told me that I should make whoever I go out with feel special and treasured" stated Jay with a kind smile that made Lisanna blush with how handsome she found Jay. Blushing at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Still I'd feel bad if you paid for everything so how about we compromise" asked Lisanna with a cute blush. As they continued to walk towards the source of the pleasant scent of something cooking, Jay started to speak.

"What sort of compromise" asked Jay with a curious smile. Smiling at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"You can pay for dinner but after we will go out for dessert somewhere else and I will pay for that" responded Lisanna, still blushing a cute shade of pink from holding Jay's hand. Finding no problem with Lisanna's compromise, Jay started to speak.

"That sounds good to me Lisanna. For your sake I hope the restaurant has enough food or else I might eat you into the poor house when we go out for dessert" responded Jay in a playful tone, making Lisanna giggle as she started to speak.

"Hehe well let's hope that doesn't happen" responded Lisanna, thinking that she could fall for Jay if she wasn't careful. Shortly after Lisanna said these words the two of them arrived at the restaurant. Stepping into the restaurant, Lisanna frowned at the crowded place as she continued to speak.

"I hope we can get a table, they seem really busy" stated Lisanna, looking around the packed restaurant.

"We won't know until we try" responded Jay as he walked up to the host stand before he continued to speak.

"Could we please get a table for two" asked Jay to the host who was reading something. Without looking up at Jay, the host started to speak.

"Sir we are very busy, the wait time is" responded the host before he finally looked up at Jay and immediately changed his tone as he continued to speak.

"nothing for the battle king of Sabertooth" responded the host in an excited tone, eager to serve Jay since his presence would certainly boast business. Quickly picking up two menus, the host continued to speak.

"Please follow me sir and madam" stated the server, quickly leading Jay and Lisanna through the crowded restaurant. Stopping in front of an empty table with a reserved sign, the host removed the sign as he continued to speak.

"Please enjoy, your server will be with your shortly" stated the host before he walked away, letting the rest of the staff know they had a celebrity from the grand magic games dining with them. Smiling at Jay from across the table, Lisanna started to speak.

"It looks like there are benefits to being the battle king" stated Lisanna in a playful tone, amused that they were able to get a table easily once the host recognized Jay. Giving Lisanna a bashful smile, Jay started to speak.

"The perks are certainly nice I will admit. I'm sure you get the same thing Lisanna" responded Jay with a smile. Giving Jay a curious look, Lisanna started to speak.

"Why would you say that? I may be from Fairy Tail but I don't have fans like you do" asked Lisanna in a curious tone.

"That may be the case but I'm sure a pretty girl like you has men falling over themselves to get your attention" responded Jay in a flirty tone, making Lisanna blush all over again as she started to speak.

"T-that's kind of you to say Jay, but honestly I don't get a lot of male attention" responded Lisanna, her face covered with a cute red blush. Giving Lisanna a flirty and amused look, Jay started to speak.

"Come on I don't believe it. Why wouldn't a cute thing like you have a line of men a mile long wanting to impress you" asked Jay in a disbelieving tone. Jay was still getting to know Lisanna but from what he already knew, he found it hard to believe that Lisanna didn't have multiple suitors. Still blushing a cute shade of red at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"People look at me and know I'm Mira's little sister. Any men that approach me are only interested in Mira, it's been like that my whole life" responded Lisanna, still blushing as she lamented her small insecurity of being in Mira's shadow. Lisanna loved her big sister but sometimes it was hard watching Mira get all the male attention.

"I'm sure that's not true Lisanna" responded Jay, trying to boast her confidence. Giving Jay a knowing look, Lisanna started to speak.

"It's nice of you to say that Jay but I know Mira outshines me when it comes getting attention from boys. Even you pay attention to Mira or are you going to tell me you aren't attracted to my big sister" responded Lisanna in a flirty tone, showing that she wasn't upset that Jay was obviously attracted to Mira. Jay being attracted to Mira wasn't anything new to Lisanna, she was used to men overlooking her because of Mira.

"Okay I'm not going to lie, I think Mira is smoking hot but that doesn't mean I don't find you attractive also Lisanna" responded Jay with a friendly smile, hoping that Lisanna would see that she was just as attractive as Mira. Giving Jay a shy look, Lisanna started to speak.

"You really think that" asked Lisanna with a shy smile while she blushed a cute shade of pink. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Of course I think that Lisanna. You are every bit as attractive as Mira and that's not all you have going for you. I've only known you for a short time but I can tell you are a kind and caring woman" responded Jay with a sincere smile that made Lisanna's heart skip a beat. Touched by Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Wow I've never had a boy say that to me Jay, thank you" responded Lisanna with a cute blush, thinking that Jay was proving to be someone she could see herself being with. Still giving Lisanna a kind smile, Jay started to speak.

"You're welcome Lisanna. You are an amazing woman, it's time you realize that" responded Jay with a kind smile. Before Lisanna could respond to these words, the waiter walked up to there table and started to speak.

"Thank you for dining with us today, I will be your server. Do you need another few minutes to place your order or are you ready" asked the server in a polite and professional tone. Turning his attention back towards Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"You know what you want Lisanna" asked Jay with a friendly smile. Smiling back at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"Yes I'm ready" responded Lisanna before she turned her attention towards the waiter and placed her order. As the waiter finished writing down Lisanna's order, he started to speak.

"And for you sir" asked the waiter, turning his attention towards Jay. Smiling at the waiter, Jay started to speak.

"I think I'll order page six and seven" responded Jay with a friendly smile. The waiter did a double take at Jay's words while Lisanna let out a cute giggle. Giving Jay a shocked look, the waiter started to speak.

"I'm sorry sir I must have heard you wrong" responded the waiter in a shocked tone.

"No you heard me right. I'll order everything on page six and seven please" responded Jay with a friendly smile. Once again the waiter gave Jay a shocked look before he started to write down his order.

"Of course sir, excellent order" responded the waiter in disbelief. After saying these words the waiter left them alone, he hoped that the kitchen could make the massive order in a decent amount of time. Turning her attention back towards Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"I think you almost gave the waiter a heart attack with your order" stated Lisanna in an amused tone. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"You think? I wasn't trying to shock him; I was just hungry" responded Jay with a smile. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe well I'm pretty sure you just sent the kitchen into a panic" responded Lisanna in an amused tone.

"Yah I probably did; I'll have to make sure to leave a big tip as an apology" responded Jay. Thinking of changing the subject and wanting to get to know more about Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"So Jay tell me more about yourself, what was your childhood like" asked Lisanna in a curious tone before she regretted her words. Knowing what she did about Lucy's childhood, Lisanna imagined that it was also a sore subject for Jay. Giving Jay an apologetic look, Lisanna continued to speak.

"Sorry Jay, I wasn't thinking when I asked the question" stated Lisanna in an apologetic tone. Giving Lisanna a kind and friendly smile, Jay started to speak.

"It's alright Lisanna, there are plenty of happy memories from my childhood I'd love to tell you about" responded Jay with a friendly smile. Smiling back at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"Are you sure? I know some stuff from Lucy and you don't need to talk about your childhood if you don't want to" responded Lisanna, still in a somewhat guilty tone for unintentionally brining up bad memories for Jay. Still showing Lisanna a friendly smile, Jay started to speak.

"I'm sure Lisanna. It's kind of you to say that but it's seriously not a problem" responded Jay with a kind smile. Smiling back at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"Alright if you're sure. I am curious about how you were as a small child" responded Lisanna with a smile. Giving Lisanna an embarrassed smile, Jay started to speak.

"You definitely wouldn't recognize me if you knew me as a small child. Truth is that I was a little runt, always following my big sister around the house" responded Jay, Lisanna giggling at his words as she started to speak.

"Hehe you're right, that is hard to picture. You really followed Lucy around that much" asked Lisanna in an amused tone. Nodding his head, Jay started to speak.

"Yah I sure did. Back then Lucy and I got up to all sorts of trouble running through our mansion. Most of the time we pretended we were on grand adventures. From a young age Lucy and I dreamed of joining the best guild in the kingdom so we could go on adventures for real" responded Jay with a smile, remembering the fond memories of Lucy and him playing pretend.

"So you and Lucy both dreamed about becoming wizards then" asked Lisanna in an amused tone. Nodding his head, Jay started to speak.

"Yah we did. Our mom was a celestial wizard, so Lucy and I were exposed to magic from a young age. Being a strong wizard was a big dream for me and Lucy as well" responded Jay with a smile.

"So why is your magic different than Lucy's? If your mom was a celestial wizard, why aren't you one as well" asked Lisanna in a curious tone since from her personal experience magical abilities were shared among family.

"That's an easy one. Lucy was older than me so when our mom passed, she was the one to inherit the spirit keys. Since there were no keys for me, I had to find my own magical power to master" responded Jay with a friendly smile before he continued to speak.

"I think it all worked out for the best though, my magical power is awesome" responded Jay in a proud tone, liking the magical power and strength he had from being a second generation dragon slayer. Smiling at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"You're certainly right about that. From what I saw when you fought in the games, your power is impressive" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile. Giving Lisanna a proud smile, Jay started to speak.

"I'm happy you think so Lisanna, but you haven't seen anything yet. I was taking it easy on the competition, it would be mean of me to use more power than necessary. Give me a real challenge and you will see just how powerful I can be" responded Jay in an excited tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe and what sort of challenge are you hoping for" asked Lisanna in an amused tone, thinking Jay was just like all the other battle crazy idiots she grew up with. Giving Lisanna an excited smile, Jay started to speak.

"The person I want to fight the most is Erza" responded Jay in an excited tone while Lisanna giggled in amusement as she started to speak.

"Hehe you're impressive Jay but you might want to aim a little lower than Erza" responded Lisanna in an amused tone.

"Lower? What do you mean Lisanna? I can totally take on Erza" responded Jay with a proud smile. Still giving Jay an amused smile at his confidence, Lisanna started to speak.

"A lot of people have thought that, and all have failed. Erza is called the Queen of the Faries for a reason. Aim a bit lower, you have a handsome face, and I will hate it if Erza bruises it" responded Lisanna in an amused tone. Smiling at Lisanna's words, Jay started to speak.

"I'm glad you think I'm handsome Lisanna, but you don't have to worry about anything. Erza might be strong but that's exactly why I want face her in combat. I love testing myself against strong opponents and growing up Lucy and I heard stories of Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail. I can't wait to see how I measure up to the mighty Fairy Queen" responded Jay in an excited tone before he continued to speak.

"And don't forget that I am the battle king of Sabertooth, trust me I can handle Erza no problem" stated Jay with a proud smile, thinking that he had what it took to defeat Erza. Still giving Jay an amused smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"I guess you are going to have to learn the hard way then Jay about what happens to those that mess with Erza" responded Lisanna in an amused tone. Giving Lisanna a fake hurt look, Jay started to speak.

"Come on Lisanna, you really don't think I can beat Erza? I'm hurt" responded Jay in a joking tone, showing Lisanna that he wasn't offended.

"Sorry Jay, but I grew up with Erza and I've never once seen her lose a fight" responded Lisanna in an amused tone. Still smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"I can understand that but by the time the games are over with, you will see Erza lose" responded Jay in a confident tone, eager to test himself against an opponent that could really push his limits. Enjoying Jay's confidence, Lisanna started to speak.

"It would be surprising to see, just don't hold it against me when I cheer for Erza" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile.

"Not at all, you should cheer for Erza since she's in your guild" responded Jay with a friendly smile.

"So why water dragon slayer magic? What made you choose that as the magic you mastered" asked Lisanna in a curious tone. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"I've always had an affinity for the water. Back when my mom was still alive, our family would sometimes go to the beach. Some of my best memories from my childhood are from that beach. That was back when we were a happy family, all four of us. Thanks to those trips to the beach, I've always associated the water with those happy memories" responded Jay with a smile, thinking back to the fond memories of his family at the beach. Seeing that he still had Lisanna's attention, Jay continued to speak.

"When my father lost his fortune I was able to run away from the school he sent me too. While my father lost his wealth, I still had a small fortune thanks to my mom. My mom set aside a small fortune for me, and I used that to find a water dragon slaying lacrima. Honestly if I never found the lacrima I would have just chosen to master water magic but I'm glad I was able to become a water dragon slayer" stated Jay with a smile. Giving Jay a kind smile, Lisanna started to speak.

"That makes sense now that you explained it" responded Lisanna before she continued to speak.

"So why did you join Sabertooth? Why not Fairy Tail" asked Lisanna in a curious tone, thinking things would be better if Jay was in Fairy Tail.

"Like I said before, Lucy and I dreamed of joining the strongest guild in Fiore. For Lucy that was Fairy Tail but by the time I ran away I still had to master a form of magic. It took me about two years to master my magic and by that time Fairy Tail wasn't the best around. With five other wizards I joined up with Sabertooth and together we made Sabertooth number one" responded Jay with a proud smile. Seeing Lisanna's expression falter at his words, Jay panicked as he continued to speak.

"Sorry Lisanna, I wasn't thinking right. It must be hard to be reminded that Fairy Tail isn't number one anymore" responded Jay in a guilty tone. Shaking her head, Lisanna started to speak.

"No that's not it, being the number one guild isn't that important. As long as I have my friends and family it doesn't matter if we are the strongest" responded Lisanna with a smile before she continued to speak.

"I was just thinking that it must have been hard when Lucy disappeared for seven years, you must have been worried sick" stated Lisanna in a sympathetic tone, knowing all to well the pain of having to be away from her siblings for an extended period of time. Nodding his head in agreement, Jay started to speak.

"Yah it was tough, and I was worried about Lucy, but strange thing is I never once thought she was dead. During the seven years Lucy was gone, my father made amends with me. My father changed for the better thanks to Lucy's words, he was no longer obsessed about wealth above all else. While you all were trapped in Fairy Sphere, my father and I visited each other often and together we never gave up hope that Lucy was alive and well" responded Jay with a smile, showing that he wasn't bothered about talking about the subject. Still smiling at Lisanna, Jay continued to speak.

"Even when my father fell ill about a year ago, he never lost hope" stated Jay, his smile faltering as he continued to speak.

"When it was obvious that my father was on his deathbed, he had me promise to look after Lucy since she would be the only family left. Even in the end he had hope that Lucy was still alive" responded Jay with a sad smile. There was a moment to silence between the two of them before Lisanna started to speak.

"I'm sorry for your loss Jay, that must have been hard" responded Lisanna, not knowing what else to say. Giving Lisanna a grateful smile, Jay started to speak.

"Thank you Lisanna but I haven't lost my father. I know that as long as I have his memory, he's never truly gone. The same goes for my mom, she's still in my heart" responded Jay while giving Lisanna the signature Heartfilia smile. Smiling at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"That's a really positive way of looking at it Jay, Lucy said the same thing" responded Lisanna with a smile, thinking that Jay looked really handsome while he was smiling at her like he was. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Being positive just runs in the family I guess" responded Jay with a smile that continued to make Lisanna blush. Shortly after saying these words, the waiter started to bring the food to their table. While Lisanna was given her single plate of food, a parade of plates were carted over to Jay.

"This all looks great" stated Jay with an excited smile before he turned his attention towards Lisanna and continued to speak.

"I really hope you don't judge me Lisanna but I'm starving and I kind of forget to chew my food when I'm this hungry" responded Jay with a joking tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe don't worry Jay, I still think you are handsome" responded Lisanna, blushing a bit while she flirted with Jay. Thinking that Lisanna was cute when she blushed, Jay started to speak.

"You might not think that in a minute Lisanna" responded Jay in a joking tone. After saying these words, Jay and Lisanna started to enjoy their food. While they ate, Jay and Lisanna continued to talk about random topics. As Jay finished his last plate of food, Lisanna was still finishing her meal. Giggling in amusement at Jay's appetite, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe that was impressive Jay. You finished all that food before I finished my single plate" stated Lisanna in a playful tone. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Thanks Lisanna. So am I still handsome now that you've seen me eat like a wild animal" asked Jay in a joking tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe very handsome Jay. Like I told you before, I'm used to seeing my friends eat huge amounts of food so what you just did was nothing new" responded Lisanna as she finished her last bite of food.

"Well, that's a relief. It would have been a shame if I scared away such a cute girl with my terrible table manners" responded Jay in a flirty tone, making Lisanna blush at his words. Shortly after Jay said these words, the waiter came back, and Jay paid the bill. After paying the bill, Jay and Lisanna were walking through the crowded streets while holding hands.

"Thank you again for paying for dinner Jay, you didn't have to do that" responded Lisanna with a sweet smile, enjoying the feeling of holding Jay's hand as they walked through the crowded streets. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"It was my pleasure Lisanna. I never really cared for money so I don't mind paying for a meal, especially if that meal is shared with a beautiful woman" responded Jay in a flirty tone, once again making Lisanna blush a cute shade of pink. While Lisanna blushed at Jay's flirty words, she started to speak.

"Don't forget that I'm paying for dessert. I'm not going to let you get away with paying for my dinner without me paying you back" responded Lisanna with a playful smile. Smiling back at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"You really don't need to pay me back Lisanna, I was happy to pay for dinner" responded Jay with a friendly smile. Giving Jay a playful slap on the shoulder, Lisanna started to speak.

"Stop arguing Jay. You are going to let me treat you to dessert, end of story" responded Lisanna in an authoritative tone that Jay thought was cute. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Alright Lisanna, I wouldn't want to anger you" responded Jay with a playful smile before he continued to speak.

"You're really cute when you take charge by the way" stated Jay with a flirty smile, making butterflies form in Lisanna's stomach as she started to speak.

"So, w-what kind of dessert are you hungry for" asked Lisanna, blushing crimson as she continued to walk through the streets while holding Jay's hand. Shrugging his shoulders, Jay started to speak.

"I don't really have a strong preference, you can decide" responded Jay with a smile. Smiling back at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"Come on Jay don't be bashful. You have a healthy appetite, there must be some sort of dessert you are hungry for" responded Lisanna. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Well if you insist that I pick, I could go for some ice cream" responded Jay with a smile. Nodding her head in agreement, Lisanna started to speak.

"Okay, ice cream it is then" responded Lisanna in a chipper tone. Soon after saying these words Jay and Lisanna were sitting in an ice cream shop, having just gotten their order. Smiling at Jay, Lisanna continued to speak.

"Do you like it Jay" asked Lisanna in a friendly tone, hoping that Jay enjoyed his dessert. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"It's great Lisanna" responded Jay with a friendly smile before he decided to get bolder with his flirtations.

"Although it's only the second sweetest thing I've tasted today" stated Jay in a flirty tone. At first Lisanna didn't get what Jay was talking about as she started to speak.

"Second sweetest? Did you have dessert earlier today" asked Lisanna, oblivious to Jay's flirtations. Thinking that Lisanna's obliviousness was cute, Jay started to speak.

"Nope, I wasn't talking about dessert" responded Jay still in a flirty tone. Still giving Jay a confused look, Lisanna started to speak.

"Then what are you" responded Lisanna before she realized what Jay was implying. Blushing a cute shade of red as Lisanna realized that Jay was talking about their accidental kiss, Lisanna continued to speak.

"Oh w-well umm thanks, it was nice for me too" responded Lisanna with a crimson blush covering her face. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"So Lisanna, tell me more about yourself" responded Jay with a friendly smile. Still blushing a shade of pink, Lisanna had to take a moment to not get lost in Jay's radiant smile or eyes before she started to speak.

"Oh sure, what do you want to know" asked Lisanna, hoping that Jay didn't notice her lingering gaze. Still giving Lisanna a friendly smile, Jay started to speak.

"Anything, I just want to get to know you a bit better. What about your magic power? Do you use take over magic like your siblings" asked Jay in a friendly and curious tone. Nodding her head, Lisanna started to speak.

"Yes I do, I use animal take over magic" responded Lisanna with a smile.

"Animal take over magic" asked Jay in a curious tone, wanting to know more about Lisanna's magical power.

"Yes, I can turn into all sorts of animals. My favorite transformation is my cat girl form" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile. Jay briefly imagined what Lisanna would look like as a cute and sexy cat girl before he smiled at her and started to speak.

"I bet you look really cute as a cat girl, Lisanna" responded Jay in a flirty tone, once again making Lisanna blush at his words.

"Oh t-thanks Jay" responded Lisanna thinking she understood why Jay had multiple girlfriends. As Jay and Lisanna continued to enjoy their ice cream, Jay started to speak.

"There's something else I'm curious about but if it's too sore of a subject please feel free to tell me to shut up" stated Jay in a curious tone, hoping he wasn't about to cross a line and upset Lisanna. Giving Jay a curious look, Lisanna started to speak.

"Why would I tell you to shut up Jay" asked Lisanna in an amused tone before she continued to speak.

"You can ask me anything, go ahead" stated Lisanna in a friendly tone, curious about what Jay wanted to ask her.

"Well Lucy told me all sorts of stories about the adventures she went on. Is it really true there is a separate world from our own that has counterparts of everyone" asked Jay in a curious tone, hoping that Lisanna wouldn't get upset about this subject. Understanding Jay's apprehension about talking about Edolas, Lisanna started to speak.

"Oh you want to talk about Edolas. Yes Edolas is real, and don't worry about me. I'm capable of talking about Edolas so ask all the questions you want" responded Lisanna in a friendly tone, touched that Jay was concerned about talking about Edolas given her experience. Giving Lisana a curious look, Jay started to speak.

"Are you sure Lisanna? If what Lucy told me is true then I don't want to bring up bad memories for you" responded Jay in a curious tone. Despite wanting to know more about Edolas, Jay was more concerned about Lisanna's feelings. Once again touched that Jay was concerned about her feelings, Lisanna started to speak.

"Yes Jay, I'm sure. Go on, you must be curious about Edolas" responded Lisanna in friendly tone that told Jay she really didn't mind talking about the alternate earth she spent about two years of her life in. Smiling at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"Alright Lisanna, if you really aren't bothered about it" responded Jay with a friendly smile before he started to ask Lisanna various questions he had about Edolas. For about thirty minutes Jay and Lisanna sat at the able, their desserts eaten long ago while Lisanna answered all of Jay's questions.

"Edolas Lucy was always picking fights with Natsu, trying to bully him. It was a night and day difference from the Lucy I got to know when I got back to Earthland" stated Lisanna in an amused tone. Chuckling at Lisanna's words, Jay started to speak.

"I don't know Lisanna, Edolas Lucy doesn't sound that different. Growing up Lucy had no problem bossing me around since I was her little brother" responded Jay in an amused and joking tone. Giggling at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"Hehe well Lucy can't boss you around anymore since you grew up" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, blushing as she tried not stare at Jay's muscular form or his handsome face. Smiling in amusement at Lisanna's words, Jay started to speak.

"I suppose that's true. It's still a bit weird that I am now biologically older than my sister even though Lucy is supposed to be my big sister" responded Jay, thinking that wasn't the only weird thing about his current relationship with his sister. Nodding her head in agreement, Lisanna started to speak.

"I can imagine that would be jarring" responded Lisanna, trying not to get lost in Jay's radiant eyes as he gave her the signature Heartfilia smile.

"I still can't believe you lived for two years without magical power, that must have been tough" responded Jay, changing the subject back to Edolas. Shrugging her shoulders, Lisanna started to speak.

"It's not that though when everyone else can't use magical power either, besides I was always surrounded by counterparts of all my friends, so I was never alone" responded Lisanna with a smile, thinking back to the pleasant memories she had of Edolas. Lisanna just hoped that everyone in Edolas was doing okay, she still sometimes felt guilty about leaving them so suddenly.

"I suppose it doesn't sound that tough when you put it like that, it's still an amazing story Lisanna. Thank you for telling me it" responded Jay in a friendly tone. Smiling back at Jay, Lisanna started to speak.

"You're welcome Jay but now you have to tell me an interesting story" responded Lisanna with a friendly smile. Nodding his head, Jay stood up as he started to speak.

"Sounds good Lisanna, let's take a walk and I can tell you about the time I saved a fishing village from a sea monster" responded Jay with a friendly smile, holding out his hand towards Lisanna. After about thirty minutes Jay and Lisanna were walking through the crowded streets, holding hands as Jay finished his story.

"So the entire time it wasn't actually a sea monster terrorizing the village but just a wizard using illusion magic. The wizard was in for a bad time facing me in the water" stated Jay as he continued to walk through the streets hand in hand with Lisanna. Giggling in amusement at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"I bet he was. You must be a nightmare to face in the water" responded Lisanna, thinking that Jay would be unstoppable while in the water. Nodding his head in agreement, Jay started to speak.

"No one can beat me at sea. Thanks to my magic, I can swim ten times faster than I can run, and my strength is off the charts when I'm surrounded by my element. It also doesn't hurt that I can breathe underwater with no problem" responded Jay with a proud smile. Giggling in amusement at Jay's words, Lisanna started to speak.

"I'll make sure then to never make the mistake of facing you at sea" responded Lisanna in an amused tone, glad that the grand magic games didn't involve a competition in the water or else Jay would easily beat Fairy Tail. Thinking about it, Lisanna was sure that if such a competition were to occur then Juvia would be the only one from Fairy Tail that could stand a chance against Jay. After saying these words Jay and Lisanna continued to swap stories until it was late, and they were standing in front of the inn Lisanna was staying at.

"This is the place I am staying at" stated Lisanna in a reluctant tone since she didn't want her date with Jay to end since she was having a good time with him. Smiling warmly at Lisanna, Jay started to speak.

"I guess this is it then Lisanna. I had a great time tonight" responded Jay with a kind smile that made Lisanna blush.

"I had a great time also Jay" responded Lisanna as she blushed while trying to summon the courage to speak what was on her mind. Seeing Lisanna's shy look, Jay started to speak.

"Is everything alright Lisanna? I didn't say anything wrong did I" asked Jay, concerned he did something to upset Lisanna. Blushing a deeper shade of red, Lisanna shook her head as she started to speak.

"N-no that's not it, you didn't say anything wrong" responded Lisanna in a shy tone, her heart beating quickly while Jay started to speak.

"Then what is it Lisanna" asked Jay in a curious tone since it was clear something was eating away at Lisanna. Finally summoning the courage to look Jay in the eyes, Lisanna started to speak.

"W-well it's just I always imaged my first date would end with a kiss" responded Lisanna, deciding to go for broke. Looking hopefully at Jay, Lisanna hoped he would end their date with a kiss.
