Bucky O'Hare P.O.V.
"What's the story, Bruce?" I asked my friend Bruce the Betelguesian Berserker Baboon. I wanted to know what happened to Bruce, our former engineer before Harley Keener joined our team, after he got teleported to Harley's Donkey Kong video game. Me and my crew weren't able to communicate with Bruce via Harley's Nintendo 64 console. According to Harley, there used to be a microphone accessory for the Nintendo 64 called the "Voice Recognition Unit" that allowed users to communicate with the characters in the game by speaking into the microphone.
Unfortunately, according to Harley, this Voice Recognition thingy only works on one game only. A game called: "Hey You Pikachu", a game in which you could talk and interact with a yellow mouse like creature named Pikachu via the Nintendo 64 using the Voice recognition unit. I soon found out that the Nintendo 64 Voice Recognition Unit only works on that one Pikachu game and nothing else.
It meant that it was virtually impossible for any of us to get in contact with Bruce through the Nintendo 64. I asked Harley if he was sure if there any other way to contact Bruce through his Nintendo 64 console besides the Voice Recognition Unit. He said that there was no other way to contact Bruce in the Donkey Kong game besides using the Voice Recognition Unit. Luckily, Bruce managed to talk to us via the video screen in the Righteous Indignation.
"I'll fill you guys in later. Just get that bumper to Quandrant 15 and gimme a life home, okay." Bruce said to me.
"You got it Bruce! Jenny, set course for Quandrant 15! Hyperdrive!" I said.
"You sure you want to do that? Remember the last time you guys went into hyperdrive, I got sick and threw up in my bathroom." Harley said. I remember Harley throwing up due to the high velocity of being in hyperdrive. I was worried that he was going to vomit all over the ship! I had no idea that the human body couldn't handle going into hyperdrive.
"I won't go as fast as I did the last time we went into hyperdrive, Harley." Jenny said to Harley. Suddenly, an astral projection of Bruce appeared behind us.
"Banana Oil!" I heard Bruce say. We all turned around upon hearing Bruiser's voice. We all saw a hologram of Bruce. I was speechless. I just got done talking with Bruce a few seconds ago, yet here he was in front of us.
"If this is you, then who was that?" Bruiser asked.
"What kind of Doctor Who shit is this?" Harley asked.
"Who's Doctor Who?" I asked Harley.
"He's a character from a TV show I watch where he and a group of scientists travel the universe in a blue police telephone booth." Harley explained.
"Interesting." I said.
"This is me! Listen, that Bruce over there is coming from-" Bruce tried to explain to us.
"Who cares! My brother is back!" Bruiser said excitedly. He sure was happy to see his brother back. Bruiser then ran up to hug his brother, when suddenly, Bruce disappeared along with Bruiser. I couldn't believe what I just saw.
"Did anybody see what I just saw?" I asked my team.
"Ok. I think I know what's going on. Either A): Bruce is dead and it was his spirit that just spoke to us or B): Somebody slipped something in our drinks that's making us hallucinate things. I seriously hope it isn't the former or the latter." Harley said.
"Ghost? Why would you assume that Bruce is a ghost? I thought ghosts didn't exist." I heard Emily say to Harley.
"I didn't say that Bruce was a ghost. I only assumed he was a ghost due to how translucent he appeared." Harley said to Emily.
"It could've been a hologram." Emily said.
"Regardless of what you think of Bruce's appearance as a ghost or not, the fact of the matter is that we need to know where exactly Bruce is and why he's phasing out all over the place." I said. "I don't think Bruce is dead. At least I hope not. We're going to Quandrant 15. It's our only clue we've got to finding Bruce and Bruiser."
We then headed toward Quadrant 15. When we got there, there was nothing there except for a dead moon. Why did Bruce send us on a dead end. Before I could figure it out any further, several toad ships suddenly appeared out of the blue. We were quickly outnumbered and overwhelmed. The toad ships startdd to fire on us. Luckily, the Righteous Indignation was covered in an impenetrable shield. Deadeye started to fire his maser cannons at the toad ships.
"Good shooting, Deadeye!" I said, congratulating him for doing such a good job at shooting at the toad ships, "Wish I had ten of you!"
"Damn! And here I thought that the shooting in Doom was intense!" Harley said.
"We weren't doomed at all, Harley." I said. "Why would you think we were in any type of terrible trouble?"
"Not that type of Doom. Doom is the name of a video game where you shoot at aliens using very powerful types of guns." Harley said to me.
"Is it like that Space Invaders game you showed me a couple days ago, where you shoot ailens using a ship cannon?" I inquired.
"Not exactly. Doom's a lot more than just shooting ailens with guns. I would explain it to you, but the gameplay and lore of the Doom games are a bit hard to explain. All you need to know about Doom is that it's a game where you shoot at ailens with powerful guns." Harley explained.
"This Doom game of yours sounds like a lot of fun." I said to Harley.
Regular P.O.V.
Meanwhile, in the toad technology lab, the toad Air Marshall was cowering in fear because of a supposed "ghost" Berserker Baboon had haunted him and the toads. Unbeknownst to the toads, Bruce's translucent form wasn't because he was a ghost. It was the cause of a malfunctioning transporter device that was destroyed by the toads. As a result, Bruce was stuck between both the living and the spirit realm. The Toad Air Marshall crept back into the lab. He wanted to make sure that the ghostly form of Bruce the Berserker Baboon wasn't there to haunt him or his soldiers.
"Anybody here? Any ghost baboons? Now pay attention! Bucky O'Hare is in my trap and if you don't stop haunting my toad transfer machinery, I going to destroy him! I'm going to destroy him anyway, do one thing at a time. Hello? This is my final warning! Get your stupid ghost self right in front me now, or I'm going to pulverize the mangy hare! Got that?" the Toad Air Marshall threatened to Bruce. The ghostly form of Bruce appeared in front of him. The Toad Air Marshall screamed at the sight of the baboon, only to run into Bruiser and fall down to the ground.
"Hey brother. Did you hear that? Bucky's in deep bananas! Let's go!" Bruiser said to his brother. Bruiser and Bruce quickly leave the lab. The Toad Air Marshall woke up slowly. He swore vengeance against Bucky O'Hare.
Bruiser and Bruce were in a toad croaker. Bruiser wondered where his brother has been all this time since the photon accelerator on the Righteous Indignation malfunctioned a long time ago. He was happy to finally see his brother alive and well again. He was starting to worry that he might never see his brother again when the photon accelerator malfunctioned and Harley and his sister Emily took over the roles as engineers of the Righteous Indignation. Bruiser missed his brother when he was gone.
"Where have you been, brother?" Bruiser asked Bruce.
"Remember the toad attack that caused the photon accelerator to go haywire?" Bruce asked Bruiser.
"Yeah. So, go on." Bruiser said.
"That was when I got zapped across the Aniverse. I landed on a strange planet. That's where I met this ape named Donkey Kong, along with his brethren. My and Donkey Kong tried building a teleporter machine since I missed you guys and I wanted to come by for a visit. But the toads got their machine going and it homed into mine and made it go haywire. Now I'm stuck between two worlds." Bruce explained to Bruiser. "Donkey Kong and his friends are okay."
"I'm gonna pulpate them toads, brother!" Bruiser said before heading off toward the Righteous Indignation.
Harley P.O.V.
Storm Toads were teleporting in left and right all over the place uncontrollably. They seemed to teleport at pure random. I felt somebody behind me. There were two Storm Toads in the main bay of the Righteous Indignation! They were going to attack Bucky and Jenny! I ran up and tackled the toads before they could do anything to Bucky or Jenny. The toad had me in a chokehold while the other toad was going to kick me. Bucky pounced on the toads who were trying to choke me. I gasped my breath in relief. Suddenly, the toads disappeared in a flash. And poor Bucky was hugging thin air.
"I hate it when they do that!" Bucky said.
"Where the hell are they coming from?" I asked Bucky.
"I haven't the slightest idea where the toads keep coming from, Harley." Bucky said.
"Where's Emily?" I asked Bucky and Jenny.
"I don't know where she is." Jenny said to me.
Suddenly, several toads were attacking the front window of the Righteous Indignation.
"I can't shake 'em." Bucky said.
"Toad Air Marshall must be teleporting every storm toad he's got." Jenny said.
"How many Storm Toads is teleporting? A billion?" I said.
The two storm toads were about to break through the glass, when suddenly Bruiser and Bruce show up. They scared the toads away. Bruce and Bucky exchange thumbs up to each other. Suddenly, Emily and a toad are seen flying above us. They seemed to be in an intense battle.
Regular P.O.V.
Emily and a storm toad were fighting each other. The little human girl was struggling to fight against the amphibian. The toad soldier was apparently the one winning the fight.
"Stop resisting, fucker!" The Storm Toad said to the little human girl.
"I refuse!" Emily said. She wa wearing her space jump suit that was green with a space helmet.
"I know who you are, Emily Keener of Planet Earth!" the storm toad said. They were right up against the gunnery of the Righteous Indignation where Deadeye was located.
"You know me?" Wait, are you the one who swapped bodies with my brother?" Emily asked the storm toad.
"Yes." The Storm Toad said to Emily. "I was indeed the one who swapped bodies with your brother Harley. Did you miss me?"
"No. Why would I miss you? You ruined my brother's life!" Emily said. The Storm Toad laughed maniacally. Suddenly, the Storm Toad was lifted by Bruiser, whose body was flung like a slingshot into the vastness of space. Suddenly, a whole squadron of Toad fighters appeared all around the Righteous Indignation. Bucky quickly open the hatch on the side of the ship to let Emily inside the ship. The green rabbit closed the hatch once Emily got inside the ship safely.
"What the hell? The entire Toad Squadron is here!" Harley said.
"Looks like the toads are having a little trouble with their toad
transfer machine." Bucky said.
"I thought the battles in the Star Wars movies were intense!" Harley said.
"Singe me feathers! It's working well enough to bring the whole croaking toad fleet to our doorstep!" Deadeye said.
The toad ships are all firing on the Righteous at once. It ducks and dives out of the way, while Deadeye blasts them to pieces as fast as he can. They're obviously fighting a losing battle.
"Banana oil! Soon as we blast 'em, them toads just send more." Bruiser said.
"We gotta stop that toad transfer machine!" Bruce said.
"I'm all up for that." Bucky said. Got any ideas how?"
"Head over to the moon!" Bruce said.
"Deadeye, cut me a path through those toad ships!" Bucky said to Deadeye over the comms.
"Music to me ears, Bucky lad. Eat hot ions, you scum-swilling
slime balls!" Deadeye said to Bucky. Deadeye cut a path for the Righteous Indignation to go through the toads. The Righteous Indignation headed toward the moon. The ship circled around towers and poles and landed in the middle of the machinery. The hatch opens and the crew jumps out, leaving it open and unguarded. Toads with machine guns are sitting around the walls and they fire on the crew, who run through it, a gun having already been knocked from Bucky's hand.
" If we don't destroy that toad ship, we're dead meat. Nothing in the Aniverse will be safe from those wart brains." Bucky said. He pauses in a doorway to point a gun around, then everyone dives through the hatch. The Air Marshall is watching them on screen from the lab. There is an alarm going.
"So, the stupid mammals think they can attack the toad transfer machine, huh? They don't know that I'm in control. I can bring toad firepower from anywhere in the Aniverse!" The Air Marshall said. He teleports a group of toads into the middle of a passageway, all shouting and chanting together. The crew emerge from an airlock, check around, then run down the passageways. One of the toads stops. The toads all duck, their guns ready. Before any of them can fire, the crew rounds the corner, Bruiser leading.
A second group of storm toads teleports in, just in time to see the first group running away.
"Where they going? What's happening?" One of the toads asked.
Then they see what's happening too. They turn and run, straight into a third Air Marshall watches on his screen as the toads run.
"Fools! Cowards! Well, I have something that doesn't need a bunch of cowardly tadpoles to run it! More power!" The Air Marshall said.
Frix and Frax were struggling to push the dynamo that powered the toad teleportation device. Their bodies couldn't take it anymore.
"Let those mammals face the Voidroid!" The Air Marshall said.
Harley P.O.V.
We were racing through the hallways of the Toad Base, we were in a mission to deactivate the toad teleportation machine. We needed to stop the toads from teleporting all over the place. I was in my Iron Man armor. I had my AI A.U.D.R.E.Y. (Augmented Understanding of Directional Reaching Excellence and Youth) guiding me. I named after my favorite actress, Audrey Hepburn. We cleared a path toward the toads. All of a sudden, there was this enormous green machine, with huge jaws and metal teeth that ran on wheels that were like a steamroller!
"Oh my stars! A Void Droid!" Jenny said.
"Stand back guys! I got this!" I said. I aimed my repulsor ray at the Void Droid. I fired the rays at the machine. The shot ricocheted off the droid and it hit me back in my chest sensing my sailing to the ground on my back. My Iron Man Suit was partially damaged by the blast. The damages were superficial at best. The Void Droid started firing laser beams at us. I started to back up slowly. I wanted to get a running head start at the machine and destroy the machine once and for all. I posed in a runner's stance before the big track race. I then sprinted headfirst toward the Void Droid. I jumped into the air and I was beginning to strike it. Then, everything suddenly went white as if the sun was going into it's supernova phase with it's bright power.
