Author's Note: So here is an update. I know it has been forever, but I am a busy mother of three. I am also active duty, so I don't always have the time or energy to write. I will try to get some chapters written for some of the fanfiction I write while on deployment. I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 8: Plans Put Into Motion

The end of the week had come quickly enough. She would be spending time with her mother and brother. She had made plans to go to her father's building. She knew he wasn't there. He had seen her off in the limousine with Satoshi-san. She was plotting to be able to have the whole family go to Nana's recital. Her half-sister didn't know about this plot. No one knew about this plot, but she hoped it was a great surprise for her half-sister. She could understand where she was coming from. She felt over-shadowed in the house. Kagome just wanted her to know that she was there for her.

"We are at head quarters, Kagome-hime," Satoshi said.

"Thank you. I should be back down in a bit." She slipped out of the car in her designer skirt, button up blouse, modest heels, and blazer. Her hair flowed around her and she made it through the double doors and towards the receptionist.

"How can I help you?" The black haired woman asked. She was dressed professionally in a gray suit dress, black belt, black blazer, and sensible heels. Her hair was in a professional bun, and smart glasses brought out her gray eyes.

"I am actually Hisagawa Kagome, and father wanted me to start learning a bit of the business, since I will be taking over when he retires." She held forward her school ID as proof to who she was.

"He actually already went home for the day," the woman said.

"It's fine. He just wanted me to grab some of the paperwork and look it over and redo any errors. I just need directions to his office." The woman looked at her a little worried. "Can I tell you a secret?" The woman leaned forward a little bit. "Nana has a recital in a few weeks, and father won't be able to go because of the work load. I wanted to lighten his load so he wouldn't have an excuse why he couldn't make it."

"Well that is sweet of you." She smiled at Kagome. "Take the elevator that is around the corner. It goes directly to the top floor. His office is at the end of the hall." She wrote a note. "Show this to the security guard that is there and he'll get you up there."

Kagome took the slip of paper and smiled at the woman. "Thank you. This will be our little secret." The woman smiled and waved Kagome off. Kagome went to where she said the elevator to the top floor was and handed the stern looking male the paper. He looked at it and opened the elevator, no emotion passing his face. She looked at the name on his chest to see Takahara. She smiled as the doors opened and she went to her father's office. She opened the door and looked at the large stack of folders on his desk. The folders were different colors. Some were red, others green, and most were yellow. There was maybe 5 red folders and 6 green folders. 15 yellow folders were visible too. She grabbed two of the red folders, 4 of the green folders and 5 of the yellow folders, hoping he wouldn't recognize that so many folders were missing. She didn't know if he worked weekends.

She slipped the folders into the briefcase she had with her and closed and locked it before heading back to the elevator where Takahara was waiting. He opened the doors and they stepped back in, heading to the bottom floor. When it reached the ground floor a few minutes later, she waved. "Thank you for your assistance, Takahara-san. Please don't tell my father was here." He nodded and gave her a half smile. She turned and headed back to the receptionist. "Does father come in on weekends?"

"He usually does every other weekend. He isn't scheduled to be in this weekend," the woman said.

"Thank you for the assistance..."

"Takanaka Hitomi," The woman said with a bow.

"Well, thank you Takanaka-san." She smiled brightly.

"No problem, Hisagawa-hime." She watched Kagome vanish through the doors and get inside a limousine. She could see Satoshi closing the door. "Such a sweet girl." She went back to her screen.

Kagome directed Satoshi to go to a electronics store. He did so and walked in with her. He knew basic self-defense so he should be able to protect his charge well enough. He watched her ask questions about computers and performance and other questions. She seemed to know when someone was trying to oversell her on something. She ended up asking a nerdy looking boy. He was scrawny with glasses, dark eyes, and messy brown hair. He seemed passionate about what he was talking about and she smiled before buying the computer and printer he recommended. She made sure to buy enough printer paper and ink.

"Thank you for your assistance." He blushed and stammered out you're welcome. She left a comment card on her way out with his name on it. Satoshi placed the bags in the trunk and helped her into the back of the limousine and drove off.

"Any other stops, Kagome-hime?" He looked at her in the back. She had slid closer to the partition.

"A grocery store when we get closer," she said to him. "Satoshi-san, tell me about yourself. I see you everyday and know nothing about you."

"I have a wife who is pregnant with our first child," he said easily. "I am twenty-seven and have been working for your father for five years now. I didn't have the best upbringing. Alcoholic father, drug addict mother. I didn't want to be like them, so I worked hard and eventually got my chauffeur license. I had no experience, so when your father hired me, I considered myself lucky."

"Tell me about your wife, Satoshi-san." She hadn't counted on learning that about him.

"She's a sweet woman. The most beautiful woman I have ever seen with brown hair and green eyes. We've been together for seven years now. She works as a nurse because she wanted to help people." He smiled at the thought of his wife.

"How much longer until she gives birth?"

"About four months. She should be placed on maternity leave soon." He noticed how close they were to the shrine, so he found a grocery store and they slipped out and she walked through, grabbing things for dinner. She made short conversation with the cashier and paid before he grabbed the few bags they had. He helped her back into the car before driving to the shrine. He stopped at the stairs and got out, helping her out and grabbing her bags from the trunk. Kagome grabbed her brief case and her overnight bag before following Satoshi up the stairs. He had the groceries and the bags with her laptop and printer and other things she needed to get some work done. He could understand her need to get this done. He knew Nana didn't say too much to the others. She was a private type of person and didn't think anyone would be there for her, but he saw how Kagome interacted with Nasaka and Naosuke. She treated them nicely, and from what he heard from some of the maids, she made them food, helped with the other's homework, took care of Nasaka's needs. Nasaka wanted love and affection and Kagome gave her that.

"Thank you so much for your help." She smiled at Satoshi. It was a Friday evening. "Will you be picking me up Sunday evening?"

"Of course, Kagome-hime." They made it to her front door. She pulled her key out and unlocked the door before entering the house.

"Tadaima!" She slipped her heels off and slipped on her house slippers. Satoshi slipped his shoes off and then slipped on an extra set of house slippers. He followed her into the living room as steps were heard upstairs.

"Ane!" Arms wrapped around her waist and she ruffled the hair in her face. She smiled at him.

"Hey Souta." She set the briefcase down before grabbing the groceries from Satoshi. "Can you put this in the kitchen? I'm going to cook tonight."

"Of course, ane." He took the bags and headed off.

She looked at Satoshi. "You can set those down on the couch. I'll get to them in a second." He nodded and headed towards the door. "Wait a second, Satoshi-san." He waited in the hall as she moved around the kitchen and grabbed a few things. She seemed to be mixing a few things together before placing it in a tin that had no label. She turned to him and held it forward. "Tea for your wife. It should help with any nausea, headaches, and give her a bit more energy. It won't hurt the baby. She should only need one cup a day." He nodded and took it.

"Thank you, Kagome-hime." He smiled. "You are the last ride I have tonight."

"Go home then. I'll see you Sunday evening."

"Good night, Kagome-hime." He closed the door behind him after putting his shoes back on. He smiled at the tin in his hand.

"Kagome-hime?" Souta questioned with a smirk. "What's with the clothes?" He finally looked her over. This wasn't how she usually dressed.

"It was this or a cocktail dress," she easily said. It was true. All the clothes in her closet were high end dresses and things that resembled suits. "Where is mama and grandpa?"

"Mama is in the shower and grandpa went to his weekly shogi game. He should be back in about an hour." He headed back to the living room while she headed into the kitchen to start on dinner. "Ane, you want me to set this stuff up in your room?" He signaled to the laptop and printer, knowing his sister wasn't all that tech savvy.

"If you don't mind. I have some work I got to get done this weekend." He nodded and grabbed the bags and headed upstairs with them. She continued to cook until her mom walked into the room.

"It's good to have you home," her mother said. "Even if it is only for a weekend."

"Hey mama. Sorry I haven't called that much. I've been busy with school and helping Naosuke and Nasaka with their homework and studying."

"I understand, Kagome." She smiled as she watched her daughter cook. She did miss her daughter's cooking. She was always thoughtful with everything she cooked.

Forty-five minutes later, the table of was set and dishes were placed on the table with a tea pot and tea cups and water. Souta was sitting in a chair and so was mama Higurashi. The only one missing was grandpa, but from the sound of shuffling from the front door, it was apparent he just got in. He walked into the dinning room to see everyone waiting for him.

"Ah, Kagome, child, you're here."

"Of course I am, grandpa. I said I was going to visit when I could." He nodded and took his seat to see all of the food before him. "I went to the liberty of cooking dinner tonight." They started to serve themselves, occasional talk going on. She laughed as they recounted their week. She smiled as she looked at them. She had missed this.

~Sunday Evening~

Kagome had managed to get all the paperwork she took from her father's office done. She made sure everything was grammatically correct and punctuation was right. All spelling was double checked and she made sure the terms were fair. They were re-printed and she had marked up the old copies. She was going to drop them off at her father's office before going home. She had harvested more ingredients for her tea and herbs for medicine and remedies. She would mix the blends when she got back to her father's house.

"Kagome-hime," Satoshi greeted. He opened the trunk and placed her bags in the trunk, her briefcase going in the limousine with her. "I take it you want to drop the paperwork off first?" She nodded as he closed the door behind her. She slid closer to the partition as the car started to move. "My wife thanks you for the tea. She said she's felt a lot better and some of her pregnancy swelling went down.

"I'm glad to hear that." She smiled and looked out the window across from her. She could see some people pointing at the limousine and taking pictures of it. She was thinking of possibly asking her father if Satoshi could be her driver. She knew her father had a total of three drivers working for him. Satoshi was a kind man.

"We are here, Kagome-hime." She slipped out, briefcase in hand. She made it to the front desk and smiled at Takanaka. She waved while talking on the phone. She made it to the elevator to see that Takahara was holding the elevator. They got on and she dropped off the files she had commandeered from her father's office. She placed them in the review box that was on his desk. She smiled and headed back down before getting back to the limousine after bidding the two people adieu.

She got home and Satoshi helped take her bags in. She was nearly tackled when she stepped in by Nasaka.

"I missed you, ane," she said looking up at her sister.

"I missed you too." She smiled and looked at her hair. "And who did your hair this time?" Her sister's hair was in cut pig tails and braided.

"Naosuke, but he doesn't want anyone to know," Nasaka whispered conspiratorially.

"I won't say anything," she whispered back. Her sister smiled and giggled. "Where is everyone?"

"Nana is in her room practicing. Naosuke is in the back running on the path you had father pave. Father is in his office looking over some paper work and his schedule and mother is in her office talking to a client."

"So you are bored and lonely." She nodded her head. "Well, let's put these away and I will show you how I make tea blends."

"Okay ane." She was beside her sister as she went up the stairs. She knew her sister really just wanted attention.
