Chapter 13: Plans
Kagome sat in a chair next to Naosuke. It was after dinner and her study session with Mori. She was starting to understand what they were learning in math better. As her thanks, she made him and his cousin lunch the next day. She thought that he had a nice voice. It soothed her and she knew he had become protective of her. He and Honey had voiced their worry over the incident at the host club. She assured them that she was fine, that it would take more to hurt her. It seemed someone was sabotaging anything and everything that had to do with her. It had everyone checking everything before club activities started. Tamaki went overboard and checked the classroom every morning before letting her enter.
"This is where their stock prices are at now." He pulled up the international stock market website. "It had dropped a few after the initial release, but with more people coming forward, it plunged. It'll hit it's lowest price in about a week." He looked at her. "What do you plan to do with this information?" He could see the wheels turning in her head.
"I'll let you know when I get the details ironed out," she commented. He nodded and closed the tabs. "Now your history work," she commented.
"I finished it in class and turned it in. The teacher said everything was correct." He smirked at her. "How was studying with Mori-senpai?"
"It went well," she admitted. "I should ace tomorrow's test." She didn't pick up on the tease in her brother's voice. All the girls in his class thought that the two would make a cute pair. "Hey, do you think dad would let me put in a dojo?"
"A dojo? Why do you need a dojo?" He looked skeptical.
"I actually used to train in martial arts," she admitted. "I want to be able to practice, but I got use to doing it in the dojo on the shrine grounds, plus Nasaka wanted to learn some of what I know. It would be useful for some of the work outs I do." He seemed to nod, but he was confused by it.
"He'd probably give you anything to make up for, you know." She nodded. It was true in a sense. "If he does build the dojo, do you think I could get in on some of your workouts and self defense lessons?"
"Of course." She nodded. "I would never turn you away for wanting to improve yourself." He nodded and she stood. "I have few things I want to get done before bed. If you need anything, I'll be in my room." He nodded and watched her go. He was going to shower and get ready for bed.
Kagome moved to her room and closed the door. Kyoya told her they were doing a theme on Friday. The theme was royalty. He already the other hosts' costumes but he couldn't find anything for her, her brother, or her sister, who was going to be a special guest that day and play music for them. Kagome told him not to worry about it. He hadn't known she had planted the idea in his head the week before. She had already finished her dress and her brother's costume. She just had to make a dress for her sister. It would be similar to her own dress, only in an emerald green and black. Her own dress was done in sapphire with silver details. She would be sure to do her hair the morning of the theme and apply makeup when she got dressed. Her dress and her brother's costume was already hidden in the area that they kept the costumes in.
She got to her stopping point before she showered and got into bed. She would be up in a few hours to get lunches made and to get ready for school. She just turned her bed side lamp off and rolled over to go to sleep.
~Next Morning~
Naosuke looked into the kitchen to see his ane wrapping the last bento box, chop sticks packed away. She was already dressed in what the school authorized her to wear. Her school bag was on the counter next to him. He watched her turn and smile at him. "Ototo, here." She handed him his lunch and he grabbed her bag off the counter to help her to the front. She moved behind him to see her sisters and her father and step mother waiting for them. She handed out the lunches and placed the three left in a bag.
"Have a great day!" Kagome called as they rushed out the door. They got in and the driver started off to the school.
"Ane. I showed the dress to my best friend, and she was wondering if you could make her one in red," Nasaka said. "She said it was cute."
"How about next time your friend spends the night, I get her measurements and you can give it to her as a gift."
"Her birthday is coming up soon," Nasaka said thoughtfully.
"The perfect gift." She smiled and wished Nasaka a good day as she slipped out of the limousine after it stopped at the elementary part of the school. She handed her her lunch and gave Naosuke a hug and waved at Nana. She skipped off to her friend. The door closed and they were off to the the high school portion of the campus. They got out and Nana gave her a wave before finding Satsuki. They disappeared into the school talking about one thing or another. Naosuke stayed at her side, knowing the third year girls often targeted her on her way to the building. Mori and Honey met them at the bottom of the stairs. Naosuke stood on one side of his sister and Mori took the other side, Honey on his shoulders like usual.
"Is that lunch for us?" Honey asked, noticing the extra lunches.
"Yes." She pulled them out and Mori and Naosuke came closer to her as Tsubaki moved closer. Mori narrowed his eyes on them. He didn't like them and wanted to keep them as far away from Kagome as possible. She handed Honey his lunch and reached into the bag to grab Mori's his hand came to steady her as Tsubaki tried to shoulder check Naosuke into Kagome. "You okay, ototo?" She looked at him and noticed the figure that stumbled behind them. She recognized and figured she had tried something but got stopped by Naosuke. "Here, Mori." She handed him his lunch.
"Ah." He ruffled her hair.
"Thanks, Gome. Your food is always good." Honey smiled.
"You're welcome, Honey." They made it to her class room and she walked in. "Bye! I'll see you guys at lunch." She waved and walked into her class. She saw Tamaki and Kyoya waiting for her.
"How is the costume search going?" Kyoya asked her.
"I should have Naosuke, Nana and my costumes before Thursday," she said and Kyoya gave her a nod. Class would be starting soon.
~Later that Day~
Kagome setup her area with Naosuke. He seemed distracted with something.
"You okay, ototo?" She looked at him and looked her in the eye.
"I'm fine, ane, just thinking." He gave her a smile. "It's nothing you should worry about." She nodded but decided to watch him today. If he was too distracted, it could possibly cause issues for the club.
"Welcome back, senpai," Kagome greeted Hisoka Niki as she sat with them. Tatigawa Satoshi was already seated and was sipping on the tea. There was fresh fruit and mandolins in the center of the table. "I made a special batch of tea for your mother." She held forward a nondescript tin.
"Thank you, Hisagawa-chan." She grabbed it and smiled. The fact Kagome seemed to care was appreciated. She didn't have many friends here, so to have someone that she could talk to helped a lot. Tatsuya Tsubaki had turned just about their whole year against her just because she accidentally stepped on her new shoes.
"Of course. What are friends for?" She smiled at the third year girl. "Are we still on for the weekend Satoshi-kun?" She looked at the male that was in her class.
"Yes. Grandfather is aware." He set his cup down. He watched as Naosuke leaned closer to his sister before he was sprawled across the couch, his head in her lap. Her fingers ran through his hair and he closed his eyes. It made it easier to hide the fact he was distracted. Satoshi usually would be upset but such a display, but all the girls in the area seemed to enjoy it when he was like this.
"Senpai," one of the first year girls said. "I was wondering if there was anyway you could teach me how to cook?" She may have been asking Kagome, but her sights were set on Naosuke and the hint of flesh the unbuttoned collar revealed.
"I want to learn too!" A few girls chorused. Anything to get her brother's attention it seemed.
"I don't see why not," she commented. "I might have to charge a fee for supplies though."
"It isn't a problem," they insisted.
"Just write your information in here and I will send you the location and time." She handed them a notebook. They eagerly put down the information. Niki had slipped her name on the list without the other's noticing. Small talk was made, mostly the girls were trying to get a reponse out of Naosuke, but he had seemed to fall asleep in his sister's lap, her fingers still slipping through his hair, and the males were asking Kagome questions. It was basic questions, like what her favorite color was, her favorite subject, things she liked to do in her spare time, if she liked cats more than dogs, her favorite movie genre.
"You don't watch movies?" They all seemed surprised by it.
"Not really," she admitted before taking a drink of her tea. "I'm usually too busy for movies. I spend whatever time I have out of schools doing homework, working out, practicing kyudo, gardening, meditating, helping my siblings with their homework, and helping anyone else that needs my help. I prefer being active over spending hours being sedentary." They nodded.
"So no time for a boyfriend," one of them said while looking at Satoshi.
"I never said that," she commented easily. "If I had someone I was dating, I would be sure to make time for them, but seeing as I don't have someone I am dating, I'll continue to occupy my time as I see fit." They nodded and she noticed Kyoya starting to close the club. "It seems our time together today has come to a close. Please come again tomorrow." They nodded and started to leave. She smiled at Niki as she glance back one more time before she left.
"Wake up, Naosuke. Club hours is over." He groaned but sat up. He ran his hand through his hair and tidied his appearance. "You sure you're okay?" He nodded and helped take the dirty dishes to the prep area to be washed.
"I just have a few things I need to figure out. If I need help, I'll let you know, ane." She nodded but he could see the worry in her eyes. "I promise, it isn't anything for you to worry about."
"If you're sure." He gave her a smile and nodded. She turned to see Mori and Honey waiting for them. All the snacks she brought had been eaten. She just finished moving it to the prep area and changed before grabbing her bag. She walked to the entrance surrounded by the host club. "Mori-senpai, I was looking to ask my father to install a dojo on the property and I was wondering if you had any contacts of anyone that could do it."
"I'll send you the information in a text when I get home," he said lowly.
"Thank you." She smiled and took the bento boxes from Honaey and Mori. He had a class he had to teach tonight, so tutoring was not going to happen today. It was fine. It meant she could finish the dress she was making for Nana and have her try it on and make adjustments as needed. She had already found period type shoes that would go with the dress.
"Nana, imouto, I need your help with something. It should only take a couple of minutes." Her sister looked at her. She could see the internal battle going on. "It's nothing strenuous, I promise."
"Alright." She sighed, still trying to get used to having some form of attention, instead of none. She also made sure their family went to her recital and made her such beautiful dresses. She had a mini fashion show with Satsuki in her room afterwards, complete with pictures that she posted all over her social media accounts. There had been several comments about how beautiful she had looked. Some even asked who the designer was and she wasn't sure what to say. How could she say it was her older half-sister? Everyone thought she hated her sister, with the exception to Satsuki, who told her it was fine to like her sister, even though they didn't really grow up together.
"You won't regret this." Kagome smiled at her and the slid out of the limousine as it came to a stop in front of the house. "Thanks, Satoshi-san!" She hurried into the house, excited to get some of the dress done. A maid came forward and took the empty bentos from her to wash. She slipped her shoes off and waited for Nana at the bottom of the stairs. Naosuke had already said he would make sure Nasaka did her homework, freeing her for the time being.
"So what did you need help with?" Nana asked as they came into Kagome's room.
"Well, I am making your dress for Friday and I wanted to make sure the length and fit were good." She took the dress off the mannequin. "Can you try this one real quick?" She held the emerald dress out to her sister. Nana looked at it and made her way to the bathroom. She wasn't confident with her body, so if she could keep people from looking at her, she'd do it. She came out and Kagome moved around her. She made sure it was on correctly. "Looks good." She brushed the bottom hem of the dress. She smiled. "You'll look beautiful in this dress when it's done." She saw Nana blush.
"If you say so." She moved to the bathroom to change.
"I know so," Kagome whispered. It seemed her sister had image issues similar to her own.
