Chapter 17: Lawyers

Kagome was eating dinner with her family when her personal phone rang. Everyone looked at her and she bowed her head sheepishly before looking at the number flashing across her screen. "Apologies, tou-san, I need to take this call." She bowed to them and left the room. "Eiji-san, konban wa." He greeted her, his voice apologetic. "It's understandable. It's not everyday something like that happens. He needs time to process this. He'll get his head around it in time." She smiled when she heard him call his grandson a brat. "He did leave his stuff here in his hurry to leave, however. I'll send it to you with one of the maids." She laughed lightly as more insults he spewed directed at his grandson. "Have a good night, Eiji-san." She hung up her phone and entered into the room again. She took her seat and continued eating as if the call had never come in.

"You really shouldn't take calls during dinner, musume," her father lectured. "It's family time during that time."

"I understand." She bowed her head again. "I am hoping to establish good relations with Tatigawa-san. I have plans for the future that I am hoping to move towards, with your consideration of course." Her father nodded, seeing the logic in building connections now instead of later. In a sense, her joining the host club could lead to relations they could use in the future. He still didn't like it, however.

Just as he dismissed them from dinner, Kagome's business phone rang. It was a very distinct ring, so she knew she needed to take this. She bowed a quick good night, Naosuke following her lead and following her into her room.

"Naoto-san, I was expecting your call," she easily said, placing the phone on speaker. Naosuke was sitting across from her, wanting to see if things were going to progress forward and to see what her plan was for Tsubaki.

"My father is willing to meet with you Wednesday at 1700. I'll text you the location. He will half his usual fee since you are a friend. He usually charges 15000 yen per hour. Be prepared. He'll want to know the business, the amount the business is actually worth and if there is any pending lawsuits against the business. You should probably work on a business model and a plan of action should you be successful in taking over the business." He seemed to clear his throat. "Now my fee..."

"Will be delivered first thing tomorrow morning." She smirked. "I hope you plan to go into law, Naoto-san. I'd have a job for you right away if you did. Have a good evening."

"You too, senpai." The call disconnected.

"Can I trust you to help me, ototo?" She looked at his face.

"I can gather the data of how much the company is worth, the pending law suits, and who they are with and the amount to be owed." He looked to her. "Will you be able to handle the rest of it?"

"I'll be able to. I am expected to take over father's company once I am done with school. Think of this as practice." He nodded and got up.

"I'll have the required information to you sometime tonight." He shoved his hands in his pockets and headed for the door. "Nasaka is going to want a story tonight," he pointed out.

"I know. I have one prepared for her." She smiled at his back. He was really protective of his twin and of her. She appreciated everything he did for her and their sisters. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and pulled out her laptop. She had to get down to work. Her homework and class work were already done so she didn't have to worry about that. She would just have to ask Mori if they could do their study session tomorrow instead of Wednesday. She hoped he would be accommodating to the request. She'd worry about that later.

~Time Skip - Wednesday -1700~

She had skipped the host club today, relying on her brother to handle their guests. This was more important to the both of them. This ensured Nana's safety and this would make her life a lot easier. She straightened her blazer and skirt and made sure the professional look she had her hair in was still the same. She tightened her grip on the brief case she had with her and opened the glass doors of the law firm before her. It was a large building and was decorated to reflect wealth and power. She rolled back her shoulders and decided to go into this head first. She had a plan, a whole brief. Everything would go her way. Sesshomaru had always told her to have a plan, and a back up plan and a back up plan for the back up plan. She had five different plans and contingencies. She wouldn't fail in this endeavor.

She approached the receptionist and gave her a polite smile. "I have a meeting with Kanaga-sama at 1700." She looked at the time behind the receptionist. She was a good twenty minutes early.

"Hisagawa, Kagome?" She nodded. "Conference room B on the seventh floor. You can use the elevator over there." She pointed to the elevator and Kagome thanked her before moving to the elevator as the receptionist checked her in. She made it to the designated floor and conference room with no issues and went to setting out the folders she had with her. Her laptop was with her and she turned it on. It had every plan saved on it. She made sure everything was orderly and approached the male that was entering the room.

"Good evening." She gave him a bow and he did the same. They both sat and she pushed forward a folder. "As you can see, the business I am attempting to take over is Tatsuya Corporation. They have recently seen a large drop in the stock market after several lawsuits and complaints came to light. With their backers dropping out and going elsewhere, the company is now only worth 4 million American dollars. With the lawsuits of thousands adding up, the company will go under and bankruptcy will be filed shortly after that." He looked at the documents, following along with her. "I will offer them 10 million American dollars for their company, with the stipulation being that they settle the lawsuits and pay the people what they are owed." She stopped to take a breath and to assess the man before her. He was serious looking.

"Is this a good gamble for you?" He looked into her serious sapphire eyes. She was young but ambitious.

"The company is already as low as it will go. With what I have planned, it will only go up." She smirked. "Their daughter did inexcusable things to one that I love, one that your son has a vested interest in. Family is what we started with, it is what we have at the end of the day. I want to protect my family. If taking over this business will ensure their safety, then it is the only thing I need." She saw the shift in this man's eyes. "They also do not currently cater to men. Part of my business plan is to start a men's hair and skin care line. My whole business plan is to go away from harmful chemicals and nitrates. I have several recipes ready for production and will be reaching out to local farmers for supplies. It will boost the economy and promote a clean environment. There are many promotions I want to do as well. So what do you say? Want to help me take over a business?" She gave him a smile. The same one she gave at the host club that had many awed.

He blushed at the smile. She was charming, but also vengeful. He wouldn't want to cross a woman like her. He just cleaned his glasses and looked at the packet before him. It was very detailed and the terms were fair.

"I look forward to working with you on this requisition. My fee will be charged once the contract has been finalized. I will only be charging for the meetings we have. That is this meeting and the meeting to buy out the company." He closed the folder and placed it in his brief case. He stood and offered forth his business card. She took it and provided him with her own. They bowed to each other and he escorted her out of the building and watched as she got into the awaiting car. She was an interesting character, to say the least.

~Scene Change~

The limo she rode in stopped in front of the house. Satoshi was quick to get out and open her door. She smiled and patted his shoulder. "Thank you, Satoshi-san. How is your wife doing?"

"She's due any day now." He bowed to her. "She is almost out of tea."

"I'll have some for her tomorrow morning." She vanished inside. She made it to the dining room to see she was the last to arrive. "I apologize father, the meeting I was at ran a little long." She quickly took her seat. "I am hoping to have another meeting on Friday." He didn't seem to question what she was doing. She would tell him when she was ready. He just nodded and watched as the servants placed food before them. They started to eat and Nasaka filled her in on her day. She was smiling and nodding as she ate, catching Naosuke in the corner of her eye. They briefly made eye contact and she nodded. He seemed to know what she was saying so he returned to eating. She would tell him how it went after this. This did involve his twin after all. She was essentially his other half. They had always been together and would always be together until death parted them.

When their father stood, they took it as the sign for them to also depart from the table. Nana went to her room, her phone in hand as she looked over several text messages in her friends' group chat. She frowned at what they were talking about. They were bad mouthing her half-sister and twin, saying how they behaved was incestuous. Satsuki was trying to defend them, saying they were brother and sister and they were just re-united. They were working on their sibling bond. She scowled and typed furiously on her phone.

NANA: Don't talk about my family like that.

MOMO: Why? You hate your half-sister after all.

HANA: Yeah. You're always talking about how she gets all of the attention from your parents.

SATSUKI: You don't know Kagome. She's actually really nice and smart.

MOMO: And all the guys like her, leaving none for the rest of us.

NANA: You have a boyfriend already so why does it matter if they like her? It's not like she's interested in them.

MOMO: Now you're defending her?

HANA: You sure changed your tune quick. All the popular girls know what a whore she is.

SATSUKI: She isn't.

MOMO: She is.

NANA: I don't think I can be friends with you two anymore. Not if you are going to continue bad mouthing my half-sister and twin. That is where I draw the line.

Nana pulled up both contacts in her phone and blocked them. She sighed. She had been friends with them since grade school. They had a lot of similar likes back then, but now they seemed to be completely different. Momo and Hana liked to chase after boys. Satsuki focused on school and her acting. It was what she wanted to do since they were children. And she focused on school and her music. It was her passion and probably was the only thing she was good at. Momo and Hana just focused on how they looked and what boys found them attractive. It was sad really. They only wanted to marry a successful man and never work. From her understanding, Kagome was good at a lot of things and she seemed to make friends easily. Naosuke and Nasaka liked her too. Kagome had tried to include her in what she was doing but she had been caught up in herself. She was starting to realize that she had been a bitch towards someone that more than likely had no say in the whole situation. She would try to be more open with Kagome. She couldn't be all bad.

~Scene Change – Kagome's room~

Kagome and Naosuke sat at one of the low tables in her room, a pot of tea between them. She was sipping on her cup while he looked at her with a serious look. He wanted her to just get on with it but knew she was probably thinking of how to word what was on her mind. She set the cup on the saucer and looked at him, a seriousness in her eyes that he hadn't seen before from her. She grabbed the briefcase next to her and placed it on the table before opening it and pulling out a folder. She placed it in front of him and he opened it, looking through it. His eyes widened when he finally realized what she was planning.

"You're going to take over Tatsuya corporation? With what money? Isn't that a bit much?" He looked at her in a new light. He didn't think she could be this vengeful.

"Tsubaki had plenty of chances to stop with her behavior. She attacked my sister and now she is going to pay for it. The safety of our family matters the most to me. Nana will not be safe as long as Tsubaki still goes to our school."

"I understand, ane." He could see her logic. Tatsuya corporation also did a lot of damage to so many people. If she could change the way Tatsuya Corporation operated and it was successful, then she would make a killing in the cosmetics and hygiene field. She would be making a lot of lives better if her endeavor succeeded. "I will support you in any way that I can."

"Thank you, ototo." She smiled at him gratefully. There was one thing they would always agree on and that was that their family needed to always be safe.
