Hey guys! It's me RGQC back again with another chapter for all of ya to enjoy! So now we get to the good (and horrifying) stuff, yea? Besides that, I might have had an addiction to coffee and now I constantly needed it to help me write. Help guys.
But enough of me, we got comments to address!
J-SECTION-L: Huh, interesting to know that this mission was your mum's favourite. And yes, siege tank spamming is such a viable tactic with its only weakness being it being unable to attack air. And yes, I was playing it on brutal this time. It's the reason why there were many archons, immortals and colossus.
ZeroGs22: Yes indeed. Let's see them handle cosmic horror.
FGOFanlover: You do the same ok? And let's hope that this year will be much better than the last.
Akuma-Heika: Perhaps. But immature people would make ass jokes outta it. I did as well. As for the other point. Whoops. I must have missed it out, but let us assume that it is for the upgraded versions which are shown using standard issue rifles. Adding bayonets to it would be helpful. If you're curious, it's under your account.
Dakzillaman: Sorry I didn't include any dialogues for our dear siege tank drivers. I wasn't sure how to add them in and I went through about 2 to 3 rewrites in my attempts to add it in. I was also having trouble getting the personality right. Maybe I didn't do it right. And yes, from where I intend, we're going to the Whispers of Doom.
Roy4: Yes indeed. Let them know true terror. And entertainment for us.
Guest: Big plans…
Jamieoeyes: Oh, yea the hybrids. That would definitely ruffle their feathers. Seeing something that shouldn't exist and the idea of an eldritch abomination plotting the end of the universe. Same, let's hope this one turns out a bit better. Yeah… I should add in Robyn interacting with the others. Kind of forgot to add her into the conversation. Well technically, she's been interacting with others such as her helping Glynda in her classes during breaks. But yes, I should add more conversions that involve her.
Guest 2: Maybe? I think it is just that the Tal'darim were more concerned with the laser drill digging into their temple. And it doesn't help that they can make rather idiotic choices such as leaving the Mobius base empty and not destroyed. So, let's just assume it is them playing the idiot ball k?
DragonANGL: Yea, seeing a sun about to go supernova would awe many of them. As for the other question, I believe I stated that I supported Tosh.
The True Skull: I was made aware of that… How embarrassing. Just in case, refer to Akuma-Heika's comment for hand waves, I guess.
Ssgtsplatter: Oh, what horrors lie within. But knowing her and her desire for power she would accept it. Unless shown otherwise that all power comes at a price.
Maglad: Glad you enjoyed it. Also introducing TTS Vulkan to the cast? Do you want broken spines? Cos that's how you get broken spines! Anyways, yes, I'm familiar with NIER Automata and yes. They all deserve a happy ending. But if Rooster Teeth won't give the world of RWBY a happy ending, we'll make our own one!
Guest 3: Interesting idea, but I had plans already planned out. Nevertheless, I'll see if I can do something about it.
Starpottergeek: I'm sorry but most likely not anytime soon. I've seen many similar fics that do something in which you requested. I have no intention to do that as I felt that it was overused to an extent. Related to trailers, I think I mentioned it but I have intention to do that for HOTS and LOTV trailers. Thanks anyways.
Yolo27th: If the freak out at Ultralisk, ya bet when the Leviathan or Omegalisk shows up, it should be quite the sight eh?
RandomGuest: Yea... kinda skipped to for story purposes. Would show the trailers for HOTS and LOTV when we get there.
I'm also introducing more inhabitants in RGQC's realm. I hope I got their personalities right. And we are done with the comments. Let's begin, we got a vision to look at.
Disclaimer. I do not own RWBY or StarCraft. All of these belong to their respective owners: Rooster Teeth, StarCraft 2 belongs to Blizzard Entertainment. I only own my OC in this story.
Whispers of Doom
"I must say," RGQC hummed as he watched a white-haired fox Faunus sitting on a chair while waiting for a train. "They really got their work out for them huh?"
[Their task won't be easy. The same could be said about them unless the necessary changes were made in time.] QAI answered back. The realm lord then puts away the tablet as he gives himself a stretch before speaking.
"You're referring to our guest yea? We can't do much for them, but we can nudge them in the correct direction. Of course, I still need to talk to Ozpin and tell him his fate and future. The same goes for the others, but there's a time and place for it. We just need to be patient about it. Once they know about it, it's their job to change it themselves."
[Understood. They should be back soon master.]
"Ah really?" A subtle smile then slowly appeared on his face.
…
[What are you planning master?]
"Well… if you must know, I haven't checked on Lily in quite a while. So, I'll go see how she's doing and maybe take her on a personal tour through my collection? Can you handle this mission? Or do you need someone else to handle them? I won't force you."
[That wouldn't be necessary, master. But if you see the need to do it, we could send Tamamo to help act as your eyes. After all, they haven't encountered her in their stay here.]
"That is true. She tends to hang around the hot springs and shrines and I'm pretty sure none of our guests had ever visited it yet. Though a part of me fears that Koyanskaya might get… jealous if I were to introduce the OG Tamamo to them first before her."
[Even then, introducing Koyanskaya to them would be a bad idea. It has an 84% chance of some sort of disaster occurring if she were to see them.]
The realm lord let out an annoyed sigh. "Don't get me started on her insistence to be my 'secretary'. Why did I keep her personality the same when I chose to summon her?" The realm lord questioned his decision.
[You wish to keep it similar to the source material master. Though I cannot deny, she is efficient at her job.]
"And ambitious." RGQC added in.
[And her insistence on taking my place as your second if she could.] If an AI could deadpan, QAI is doing it right now.
"Yup…"
…
[Are we sticking to summoning Tamamo to take your place until you return master?] QAI then asked after a period of thinking from the both of them.
"Yea. Once I've visit Lily and see how she doing, I'll check on Koyanskaya, it's been a while and I hope she doesn't have anything of concern to worry about."
[It is definitely advised. I'll inform Tamamo to come over.]
Sometime later…
"Hello RGQC, we're…" Kail was the first to enter the theatre and speak, only to drone out towards the end when all of them saw that RGQC was back in his original looks and talking to someone else.
Said individual noticeably has fox characteristics such as the ears and a really large fluffy tail. What is also noticeable was that she possesses pink hair which was tied up into a high ponytail and a blue kimono that left her back exposed for all to see.
"Hai! Thank you master for giving me a chance!" Tamamo says as she literally leapt onto the realm lord and gave him a hug, who at this point, had to balance himself with the addition of a new weight added in by Tamamo.
"Ahabua! Tamamo! I know you're grateful for it but must you jump on and put all your weight on me?" RGQC asked as Tamamo gave a teasing giggle.
"Fufufu… Master~ I thought you like it when I do this in our alone time~." The realm's lord noticeably turned red before it dissipated.
"I get it, but not now Tamamo. Everyone's here already." RGQC calmed down before resting Tamamo back on her feet before facing everyone with a cough as she did the same. "Good to see that all of you have arrived, I must take my leave to attend something, so I'd like you to meet Tamamo. She would watch over you guy's while I'm away alongside QAI."
"Hello. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Tamamo no Mae. But please, call me Tamamo." Tamamo greeted as she gave a bow as several of the audience gave a bow of their own back to her.
"I believe I could say for everyone that It's a pleasure to meet you Tamamo." Ozpin greeted her.
"Hai. Master wishes for me to interact with all of you. Since I spend most of my time at the hot springs and shrines."
"Oh! Hot springs! Why haven't we gone to it at all?" Ruby then asked as everyone looked at each other and shrugged.
"How about after this viewing we all enjoy some time over there?" Ren then gave a suggestion.
"That sounds like a great idea Renny! I support your idea!" Nora adds in.
"I suppose it would be interesting. I wonder how it fares compared to those in Atlas?" Weiss mumbled.
"I'm sure it would be awesome!" Coco joined in as several more agreed to the idea of going to the hot springs later after this viewing.
"Ok Tamamo. You'll be a good girl while I'm gone, ok?" Tamamo's master asked her.
"Yes master. I'll await your return." She formally bowed towards her master as RGQC opened a portal to his left and walked through it.
"Now then, before you begin, do any of you have any questions for me? It seemed to be a basic procedure that was given by master…" Tamamo asked as she pulled a tablet similar to what her master uses from between her breasts. Much to the embarrassment of the guys and somewhat humour and annoyance from the girls.
"Did you seriously just pull out a tablet from your breast?" Weiss asked ludicrously as all she got was a heartily giggle from Tamamo.
"Yes, she did." Coco deadpanned as several of the women could only envy Tamamo's 'size'.
"Do not worry about it much." Tamamo assures everyone as they all take a seat. "I know all of you have questions for me, let it out before we begin now, shall we? Fufufu…" Tamamo asked with a sly smile on her face.
Everyone could only look at each other, but the most common thing that was on everyone's mind is whether she is a fox Faunus, yet the fact that she possesses two animalistic traits is what is strange to them all. Then again, anything is possible in RGQC's realm as Blake was the first to voice her thoughts out.
"Are you a fox Faunus Tamamo?" Blake asked as Tamamo hummed.
"One could say that at first glance at me from your world but no. I'm not a fox Faunus. I'm more accurately a kitsune akame, a fox spirit who serves under master." Tamamo explained as everyone got even more interested in her.
"You're a fox spirit?" Ruby asked
"Hai. But that's all I will say for now, do any of you have any more questions for me?"
"How did RGQC meet you? Aries says that he was created based on a world he saw, is it the same for you?" Winter then asked as Tamamo smiled.
"I answered master's summoning desu~."
"You… answered, RGQC's summoning?" Neo tilted her head.
"Hai! Master called for help and I came right away to answer his call as his humble servant."
"And this was…"
"Over 5 hundred thousand years old." Tamamo interrupted Tai.
"Five hundred thousand years old?!" Everyone understandably shouted out in absolute shock, for those who know Aries's age, Tamamo is clearly much older than him. Those who weren't around were shocked at how old she is and yet, her appearance looks like a beautiful woman.
"Damn you're old." Mercury apparently couldn't keep his mouth shut as he blurted it out. This earned a stained smile from Tamamo as her ears twitched. Everyone else could only stare at Mercury in shock at the audacity he said.
"You bloody idiot…" Emerald could only facepalm.
"Good to know ya merc, cos ya gonna die." Yang pointed out.
"Yup, get him Tama." Coco added coldly.
"Hope you like dying Merc, because you don't comment on a woman's age." Neptune added in.
Tamamo's smile remained on her face, though it now looked more sinister as she casually raised her hand into the air and before anyone could react, a fancy circular mirror appeared right out of nowhere and hit Mercury right in the back of the head. Knocking him out instantly as the mirror began to float near Tamamo who now has a satisfied smile on her face.
"Finally, he gets what's coming for him." Emerald added as Cinder could only look at the unconscious Mercury with a slight disappointment as well as satisfaction from him getting knocked out.
"Ohh… Pretty mirror." Nora seemed nonplussed that Mercury got hit in the back of the head and was more concerned with the floating mirror as it floated until it ended up behind Tamamo.
"Ahhh! That feels great! Now, are there any more questions before we begin?" Tamamo cheerfully states with a clap of her hands as the shock of Mercury getting knocked out by a mirror wears off.
"If I may ask Mrs Tamamo," Glynda then spoke after recovering as Tamamo signalled her to continue. "What's your relationship with RGQC, and is there anyone else like you?"
"Master~? I love him with my heart! But his work in managing the multiverse always takes priority, so I helped him to the best I could. Master's intentions were good for everyone and so, he earned my service all those years ago. He's also so fun to tease when we're alone~" Tamamo's expression then became unusually terrifying as if she saw the realm lord as her prey sometimes.
"Her face is scary… And what does she mean by them being alone?" Ruby whispered to her team.
"She must be really clingy onto RGQC, as for the other one… I'd rather not say." Blake added.
"Damn, I'm surprised that RGQC held on for over two million years when he could have let the power go to his head." Yang muttered as those who didn't know how old the realm lord looked at her in absolute shock.
"He's that old? Yea, how did he not go nuts already?" Sun then asked as those who knew RGQC's true age could only shrug.
Tamamo then coughed into her hand and recomposed herself. "Yes, there are others like me that handle certain sectors of master's realm. Like I mentioned earlier, I mostly run the hot spring sector and occasionally visit the shrines and I would be there most of the time. Though, I wished master didn't summon Koyanskaya" Tamamo let out a sigh. "She always wants to one up me in everything I do."
"Koyanskaya?" Ironwood raised an eyebrow.
"Do not bother about her. She's a… unique one. Yes… We shouldn't waste any more time now, should we?" Tamamo clamped her hands together as she remained as cheerful as ever.
"Shouldn't we wake him up or something?" Ruby pointed her finger at Mercury who was still unconscious."
"Mmm… I don't think so fufu. I'll inform master about it." Tamamo giggles slightly as the theatre darkens.
The screen lights up to show Raynor standing in front of the Ihan crystal as he stares at it all while it sits on a table. Raynor then muttered to himself.
"I've heard of these Ihan crystals before…" He says that as the camera then begins to rotate around the crystal as it glows.
"And what do those crystals do?" Ren then asked as Tamamo just gave a :3 before responding.
"Just watch."
"Supposedly, they allow ya' to relive another person's memories. Whatever Zeratul's uncovered…" Raynor says it as it cuts back to him.
"Interesting… So, this crystal allows anyone to relive another person's memories?"
"Hai. Its full name is the khaydarin ihan crystal. As what Raynor had said, it allows one being to relive the experiences of another. It is fascinating, yes?"
"So, any memory, right?" Yang then asked as Tamamo shook her head.
"Not exactly, the user has to implement their memories into the crystal first. I've heard it's quite a process."
"I see. So, they can only see what the previous user wished to be stored into it. Am I correct, Mrs Tamamo?" Ozpin then hummed as he came to a conclusion as Tamamo nodded her head in confirmation.
"...he was desperate for me to see it too. Well, here goes nothin'..." He wondered to himself only for Ariel to call him from behind.
"Jim Raynor, may I speak to you about something?" She asked Raynor as he walked away from the crystal and towards Ariel.
"Oh! I wonder what Ariel has to say about it!" Ruby then asked.
"A scientist's curiosity never ends at all, friend Ruby!" Penny added in.
"Sure thing, watcha on your mind?" Raynor allowed Ariel to ask.
"I see we have a new acquisition. Is it a protoss device?" She questioned as Raynor confirmed it.
"That's right, but I wouldn't mess with it if I were you. It's a Khaydarin 'Ihan' crystal. It's a memory storage device - lets you experience what other people have seen or done. They can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doin'." Raynor explained.
"He seemed to know a lot about it. I suspect it has to do with his close relationship with the Protoss, that they're willing to share some secrets with him." Ironwood reached a conclusion as Winter nodded.
Ariel, on the other hand, was completely fascinated by what Raynor had just said. "Yet you don't fear it at all. You're a fascinating man, Jim Raynor. You know more about the protoss and the Zerg than any of the experts I've read about." Raynor gave a small smile as he turned his gaze onto the artefacts in the containment before turning back to Ariel.
"Holding these artifacts is making me nervous. Can you tell me any more about them?" Raynor then decided to get more information about the artifacts by asking Ariel who's been in the laboratory for quite a while now.
"It's interesting - the one from Xil is different than the others. However, I think all of them once constituted a single device." Ariel explained as Raynor and the audience came to the same conclusion.
"You mean they make something bigger?"
"Ah ha! I'm correct again! They are puzzle pieces!" Nora exclaimed
"How is she nailing it on the head again?" Emerald then asked as Cinder eyed on Nora curiously.
"Do not question it. You'll give yourself a headache." Ren spoke on behalf of those who knew Nora as she could be heard 'theorising' as to the artifact's purpose, ranging from somewhat plausible to straight up nonsense that only Nora could come up with.
"I swear, Nora can keep on getting answers correctly." Weiss mutters.
"Oh oh Renny! What if they were meant to bring a god back to life?"
Tamamo had to summon a fan and unfold it to hide her smile and giggles that were starting to emerge on her face. Her master briefed her with QAI that Nora seemed to score it correctly and even break the fourth wall somehow according to QAI. Tamamo thinks that she and Nora could get along quite well if given the time…
Then again, she knows that she's in a story after all… so does her master, but it doesn't affect either of them at all. They've gotten used to being watched occasionally by others. Even in their private times she had with him...
"It would seem so. It's just a theory, but there's an attraction between the artifacts we've collected - a kind of harmonic resonance. Given the points of contiguous translinear alignment I think they'd be drawn together like magnets under the right field adjustment." Ariel explained her theory as it just reinforces that Nora was right. The artefacts form some sort of piece.
"Magnets are cool." Ruby muttered.
"They are Ruby. In fact, I think I got some ideas of using magnets in our guns to enhance their projectile's velocity. Like some of those guns and their details you've shown to me earlier." Summer added in as her daughter responded.
"That sounds great mom! Tamamo. Does RGQC have a forgery in his realm?" Ruby then enthusiastically asked as the kitsune hummed. "Master does have one in fact, but he rarely uses it since he can create whatever he thinks out of thin air. But I'm sure master can show you the place."
"Yay!" Ruby cheered as Tai had a smile on his face. Qrow was also smiling at the scene before staring at his drink and placing it aside. He has no need to drink since Summer is back. As for our local Bandit, Raven could only look guilty before turning her gaze onto her own daughter Yang who could be seen rolling her eyes at her sister's tendency, but still smiling nonetheless. She should at least try to talk to her, but how would she tell her that she left all because of Ozpin? She has much to think upon.
"Ohhhh kay. Well don't adjust anything just yet, Doc. I like them aligned just the way they are." Raynor ordered as Ariel understood as she walked off to continue her observation onto the artefacts.
The camera then pulled away from Raynor to show the container showing that golden crystals that were there had grown substantially, even more obvious was that there's some sort of black energy sphere in the centre of the container itself, with electric like energies occasionally leaving the black sphere and touching the glass containment.
"That crystal grew." Pyrrha observed.
"And what's with that black ball? That wasn't there last time they were here…" Jaune added in as Pietro could be seen pulling out a table as it beeped and read through it.
"Fascinating…"
"Pietro?" Ironwood asked.
"Stetmann has come to the conclusion that the crystal's growth was not due to it draining the ship, but it is getting pure energy all from that black sphere above the crystals."
"But how?" Glynda then asked.
"I do not know; it's not stated inside the logs but Stetmann did find something worthy of interest when he gathered some crystal chips. It reveals that the protoss matrix is what keeps the energy in a vortex of sorts. It is also revealed that the matrix itself is solid as the strongest structure. I wonder…"
"Does this mean that it is possible to create better armour or accelate the firing speed of their weapons?" Penny then asked as everyone could only shrug in response.
The camera then pans to show Raynor leaving the laboratory as it then shows him in the cantina talking to his partner Tychus as to what they are supposed to do with the three artefacts on his ship.
"So now we've got three of these artifacts on my ship! When are we supposed to hand these damn things over?" Raynor questioned Tychus as he brought some bad news.
"They got their hands full right now. The Zerg are about to invade Tyrador where Moebius' main research center is. I don't reckon we'll hear anything from them until they relocate somewhere safe."
"So those artefacts are just going to stay in the ship until Moebius can relocate their research centre? That suck." Qrow muttered as several others agreed with him.
"Wonderful." Raynor says back sarcastically as the UNN news network starts playing on the TV.
Tyrador tsunami caused by illegal waste dumping, officials reveal - General Martin takes early retirement - Recent SAT1 reports 'no cause for alarm' say palace advisors - This is UNN with Donny Vermillion - Kyla Velassi to stand trial for distributing controlled substances.
"Anything worth of interest guys?" Neptune asked as Sun added in.
"Doesn't look like anything of interest, nor foreshadowing I think."
"Mmm… Nope I don't think there's anything we need to worry about." Coco joined in.
"This is Donny Vermillion, live from UNN. Tonight, the Zerg invasion: the Battle So Far. The Terran Dominion is holding firm under Zerg aggression. Our industrial complex has stepped up production on all fronts, enlistment rates have risen within the penal system, and the Marine Corps is ready to get in the fight. The Zerg won't know what hit them!" Donny appeared on screen alongside Kate who was also present as she chose to ask her chief anchor a important question.
"Boo yay…" Neo deadpanned. "More propaganda."
"Yea, I'm getting sick of it too." Torchwick added in.
"Donny has there been any word on when we start pushing the aliens back?"
"Well, I was wondering that too myself." Yang responded back in an almost sarcastic tone.
"Kate, if I revealed that, I'd be giving away vital Dominion secrets." Donny then gave his answer to his reporter for his refusal to answer her question. As expected, his reason boggles everyone's minds. Including Kate's.
"What?" Robyn could only utter those words as this thought was shared with everyone in the theatre. Tamamo on the other hand? She could be seen giggling like a school girl at how stupid people could be with their reasoning.
"He's joking right? He's definitely joking right?" Weiss asked out as her sister joined in.
"I certainly hope so."
"You think the Zerg watch our broadcast?" Kate asked ludicrously.
This got a snort out of Nora and Yang as well as everyone else either laughing or too stupefied to react at all.
"Donny then faces the camera before muttering to the audience. " I know they do Kate. I know they do."
"I want to call him out. Then again, our news back at home isn't that much different now that I think about it." Tai muttered out.
"Tai," Summer called her husband. "Has the news changed at all after my, uh… death?"
"Not that much. Except everyone back at home is excited for the 40th Vytal Festival happening in Vale."
"Really? Drat." Summer gave a pout as Ruby hugged her mother.
"Don't worry mom, I'm sure we could talk to RGQC about something similar." Ruby remained optimistic about it.
"Well, you heard it here first, folks. This is Kate Lockwell for UNN." And with that the news ended with both Raynor and Tychus shrugging at each other. But as Raynor took another swig of his drink, he noticed that Tosh was signalling him from where he was. Seeing that Tosh wishes to speak with him, Raynor stood up and headed to where the renegade Ghost was.
"I wonder why Tosh wishes to see him…" Pyrrha wonders as Jaune adds in.
"Whatever it could be, Tosh must have really wanted Raynor to hear."
"Or it could be related to his next job ya know?" Sun joined in.
"Yea, I suppose so."
But as Raynor reached where Tosh was, the renegade Ghost spoke and revealed something that caught the audience off guard. "Had any... visitors... lately?"
"Wait, he knows about Zeratul? How?" Blake wondered.
"Must be due to him being psionic or something..." Yang muttered.
"Definitely that Yang. It makes the most sense." Weiss hummed as Tamamo could be seen chewing on something tasty.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Tosh." Raynor deflected the idea that he met Zeratul earlier.
"Oh I think you do, 'James Raynor'. Something was on this ship just now." Tosh then sniffs the air before he resumes talking. "I still smell it on you." Tosh sniffs again. "Protoss… interestin'..." He grined, though Raynor doesn't appreciate it in the slightest.
"He smelled Zeratul on him? Just who is this guy?" Coco asked as Velvet added in.
"I think despite his oddities, Tosh does sound like a cool guy, I think? He's still kind of creepy."
"I suppose we all have our thoughts on this guy." Fox jumped in.
"Whatever you think you know, you just keep it to yourself. I hear you yappin' about this and I'll toss you out the airlock!" Raynor demanded before walking off and out the cantina. Though Tosh just continued to give a shit eating grin before muttering to himself.
"Very well Mr Raynor. Keep yer secrets, that's a promise to ya." And with that the screen darkens.
"At least he's willing to keep his mouth shut." Qrow addressed Tosh's willingness to keep his mouth shut.
"That still doesn't explain how he smells Protoss off Raynor." Glynda spoke with distrust.
The screen lights up to show Raynor having a chat with Swann as a siege tank could be seen in the background as well. Swann could then be heard speaking first. "We're rockin' some serious heavy metal now that we got siege tanks."
Raynor agreed with Swann's assessment before pointing out that it only applies to them if the tanks were on their side. "Yessir... the comforting thunder of the big guns. Well, comforting when they're on our side."
This earns a couple of snorts as they'd all seen how powerful those tanks could be in the previous mission.
"Yeah these newer tanks have better guns when they're on the move, and reinforced armor." Swann continues to explain as Raynor takes over.
"So long as they've still got the range in siege mode, the rest is just gravy. Between siege tanks and bunkers, we can hold the line against just about anythin'."
"Seeing how those tanks obliterate pretty much anything it fires at, yea. It plus bunkers would allow it to hold off any attack." Qrow adds as he glanced at Ironwood and winter as both of them could be seen discussing something.
Raynor could then be seen browsing the upgrades as a siege tank could be seen right behind the Firebat as Pietro's tablet let out a beep.
"Something of interest for the siege tank father?" Penny then asked as Pietro hummed as he read through its contents.
"It appears that siege tanks are classified as armoured support or mobile artillery. It is also stated that Dominion infantry are convinced that the siege tank operators would inflict more damage on the friendly forces than on the enemy and as a result of that. Siege tank operators tend to be together during shore leave." Pietro explained as this got curious looks from everyone.
"Wait, so does that mean that there's cases of friendly fire accidents?" Ironwood then asked as Tamamo decided to confirm Ironwood's theory.
"Mikoon! There are tendencies in which the tanks would fire enemies rather close to allies and this results in friendly fire. Of course, they made counter measures to reduce friendly fire but this is the Dominion we're talking about, they never really bothered with the lives of their men." Tamamo waved off as everyone could only look at her with shock. Never had they heard of such governments that never cared for the safety of their people or men in the military.
"Then again, Mr Ironwood would do something similar to Mensky in the future…"
"Is no one else questioning why Tamamo just said Mikoon?" Weiss then asked as Tamamo giggled.
[It's a verbal tic of her's, don't worry about it.] QAI suddenly could be heard.
"Ah! QAI-san. I was wondering where you were."
[Master assigned me on some tasks and orders that were classified. Apologies for the lack of response.]
"No harm done QAI, it's good to speak to you again." Tamamo smiled.
"Anyways, for those who are curious, Mr Raynor has chosen a new upgrade for his siege tanks! It is called Maelstrom rounds. This enhances the shock cannon's damage by giving its rounds an armour-piercing tip that inflicts devastating damage on the primary target. Though the splash damage remains the same, it now allows it to shred through targets more efficiently. Now two siege tanks can now one-shot a stalker!"
"Awesome!" Both Ruby and Nora cheered on at such glorious firepower. Others felt more confident in Raynor's ability to defend his base now that his siege tanks are enhanced. Hopefully the incident in which his defence nearly gave out in the previous mission would never happen again anytime soon.
The audience then watched as Raynor left the armoury as the screen darkens before it lit up again at the bridge to show Raynor and Matt having a conversation about what had happened recently.
"You ain't gonna believe this, but I just saw Zeratul on the ship." Raynor told him, but it was clear to all that Matt didn't actually believe at first. As he summarised it.
"Ah…" Matt could only wonder before he continues on. "How much did you have to drink tonight, sir?" Matt could only asked his commander but Raynor addressed it more seriously this time.
"I get him," Tai spoke out. "Sometimes Qrow would come into my house and start rambling about some something that sounds so nonsensical that it can't be true."
"Hey! I'm right here you know!?" Qrow retorted as his twin sister decided to get in on the action.
"I agree. You should at least cut out on the alcohol, knowing the rate you're going, you're most likely to die from alcohol poisoning instead of growing old enough to see your nieces grow up." This comes as a shock to those who know Raven except for her team. Especially Yang, who only now noticed her mother interacting with Summer and her team more often during their breaks.
"I should really talk to mom when I get the chance. I need answers from her as to why she left us." Yang could only watch as her uncle and her actual mother started bantering with each other for quite a while.
"He was here, Matt. And he was hurt, on the run from something." Raynor explained as it only brought up more questions.
"Where is he now, sir?" Matt then asked.
"I don't know." Raynor admitted. "But he ain't on this ship anymore. He gave me an Ihan memory crystal and he was desperate for me to study it. I guess he wants me to see what he's seen."
"I wanna see it already! It's so shiny!" Nora proceeds to yell out as Ren tries to calm her down.
Matt understands what Raynor needs to do as he nods at his commander. "Then I shouldn't take anymore of your time sir."
"Thanks Matt." Raynor then began to walk off as the screen darkens.
"What do you guys think we're finding inside that crystal?" Ruby then asked.
"Judging from the fact that Zeratul really wants him to see it, I believe it will be important to the plot in a way." Blake answers Ruby's question as Yang snorts.
"Plot, really Blakey? Then again things are now getting interesting, yea?"
"Let's not forget that our protoss buddy says that the fate of creation hangs in the balance. It must be really bad then." Coco adds in.
"Hopefully it isn't too bad." Velvet mumbled.
"Fufufu… They have no idea…" Tamamo just smiled as the screen lit up again to show Raynor back in the laboratory, staring at the Ihan crystal as Zeratul's voice could be heard.
"Raynor... the hounds of the void are closing in... I impart my memory - my very essence - into this Ihan crystal... so that you will see what I have seen... and that the future... may yet have hope." Zeratul's voice seems to echo inside Raynor's head as well as in their heads much to everyone's shock and confusion.
"Why am I hearing Zeratul's voice in my head?" Neo spoke up.
"Dunno about you Neo but this is freaking me out slightly." Torchwick responded with unease.
Realising that everyone is starting to freak out, Tamamo steps in. "Do not worry my dear audience, it's all part of the story we're seeing a vision of what Zeratul went through. So do not panic."
[What Tamamo said, there's no need to panic. Just relax]
Raynor could only stare at the crystal as he mumbled to himself. "Zeratul… What the hell have you gotten yourself into?" He wondered as the crystal seemed to respond by glowing and a hollowing sound could be heard as the screen changed to show Zeratul's green eyes seemingly staring at the audience as his voice could be heard.
"Spooky…"
"Yes. Spooky."
"Friend Raynor... long has it been since we stood together against the Swarm." Zeratul explained that as his personal ship, the Void Seeker could be seen flying through deep space and through several large asteroids as he continued explaining to his dear friend.
Oh… new ship!" Nora points at the Void Seeker as QAI explains.
[That is the star relic called Void Seeker. Zeratul's personal ship.]
"Cool!" Several of the younger audience say out as Tamamo takes over while reading the tablet in her hand.
"It also can transport numerous protoss within as well."
"Its design is quite… elegant in a way." Cinder admitted.
"Since then I have wandered the Void in solitude - seeking an ancient prophecy rumored to foretell the return the Xel'Naga."
"Xel'Naga? Who are they?" Oz then asked with curiosity.
"If I were to tell you now, it would be spoilers Ozpin-sama. But I assure you, you and everyone else will know who they are in time."
"I see… I can do that." Ozpin just nodded.
"My sojourn led me to a remote world known as Ulaan…" Zeratul says as his ship could be seen heading towards a barren planet as his ship slowly becomes smaller as it approaches the planet.
"...where I discovered fragments of the prophecy. Yet I was not the first to find them." The Void Seeker could then be seen landing on the surface of the planet as it then lines itself up vertically from the ground much to the interest of the audience.
"Huh… so that's how it lands… Strange but ok." Sun admitted as he ate some bananas.
"Just like that? I'm having a hard time processing it." Penny admits as she wonders how landing a ship like that works.
"I don't think that's safe, but this is the Protoss we're talking about. Who knows what niche equipment they had that prevented the crew inside the ship from falling from gravity." Blake admitted.
"It falls to you now, old friend... to relive my memories... and believe." Zeratul says as he blinks into view in a puff of smoke from his ship much to the audience's awe as the screen darkens.
"He can blink?! That's awesome!" Ruby cheered.
"He can do like those stalkers? How does he do that?" Weiss wondered as QAI answered her question.
[Elite Dark Templars used the powers of the void to help them teleport. This usually manifests in a cloud of darkness that enshrouds the Dark Templar before travelling a distance away. Through rigorous training, discipline, and will is necessary or else the void would consume them. As a result of this, the ability of blinking must be mastered first to be most effective.]
(Note, in wings DTs are unable to use blink. I know that in LOTV DTs can blink but work with me, ok? Just assume only the best can use blink. In this case, Zeratul. Since he's a prelate and stuff.)
"Huh. That's neat, yes?"
The screen then lights up to show several inscriptions that none of the audience could decipher lit up to visibility by a green light, all while Zeratul could be heard narrating as it shows the Zerg.
"The Zerg swarm came as was foretold." The screen then cuts to another inscription which shows the protoss.
"And the protoss, first born of the gods, rose to fight them." Zeratul continues narrating as the camera then pans above showing another alien species.
"How does he even understand those inscriptions?" Emerald wondered out loud.
"Zeratul has been spending years studying them." Tamamo answered her question.
"Now, the Xel'Naga that forged us all, are returning." Zeratul explains as a mystical theme could be heard in the background as he continues.
"But do they come to save," The camera then cuts to show Zeratul in the darkness with his glowing green eyes as he lifts his warp blade over his head as if to cast more light and get a closer look.
Ozpin could only narrow his eyes, if the Xel'Naga are anything like the brother gods, then coming back would be bad for everyone. Though he had to wonder. How would they all react to its return? Same could be said as to what would have happened if the brother gods suddenly came back to Remnant?
"or to destroy." He wondered out loud before looking behind him as he noticed something.
"I have a feeling that someone, or something is watching him…" Ghira admits.
"Yea. I'm getting the same feeling." Kali admits.
"Is no one going to comment that he's using his blade like a lantern? Or the fact that he's just wearing rags?" Coco points out.
This got a snort out of those who just realised that yes, Zeratul is using his warp blade like a lantern.
"Dark Templars like Zeratul tend to wear light armour for mobility. Because of such clothing that makes Dark Templars a terror to fight against due to how fast they can move before striking." Tamamo explained.
Zeratul, while lifting his blade over his head, he warily walks down some steps as the screen pulls back from him revealing that he's not is not outdoors at night, but inside an immense cavern that seems to stretch out as far as the audience could see. Everyone also noticed that it has signs of ancient architecture.
"Whoa… just how large is this cavern?" Summer then asked.
"Vast Summer-san, vast enough to hide the secrets of a prophecy."
"Prophecy?" Tai joined in confusion.
"Fufufu… just watch."
Zeratul walked through the caverns warily for a while before stopping when he sensed something behind him, and as he looked back a Hydralisk could be seen hissing at him.
"Zerg are here." Robyn mumbled as all of them looked nervous.
"Why are they here?" Penny asked as Tamamo just smiled while pointing at the screen.
The Hydralisk then attempted to attack Zeratul only for him to bisect it into two horizontally before another Hydralisk could be seen behind him. Without hesitation, Zeratul spun around the Hydralisk before slashing it from behind as the younger audience could be heard cheering from him.
As he recovers from killing it, another two more Hydralisk could be seen slithering towards him. Zeratul charges towards one of them as the Hydralisk attempts to slash him with his claws. Only for Zeratul to jump over and land on top of it. He then leapt at the other Hydralisk as he shoved his void blade down its throat. Both he and the Hydralisk began to struggle a bit before he pushed the blade deeper into its mouth as everyone could only slightly cringe at his brutality. Except for Nora, she's having fun watching him butcher the Zerg with no issue.
"That's brutal." Velvet mumbled as Nora could be heard cheering.
"Yea! Slice them Zergy up!"
"Zergy?" Yang and a couple others had to stop themselves from laughing.
"I want one of their blades! It's so cool!" Ruby, being the weapon enthusiast as ever, could only marvel at how efficient it slices through things like butter. Despite the gore she'd just seen.
Zeratul then turned his head to see the previous Hydralisk he jumped onto about to attack him with its claws and he responded with his own strike as it severed one of the Hydralisk claws as it went flying with blood all over the place. Time seemed to slow down as Zeratul's hand could be seen reaching out to the severed claw before grasping it. Time resumed as Zeratul then slammed the claw directly into the Hydralisk skull as it let out a dying screech while it struggled to move before expiring.
"Awesome! He's like a ninja in action! Renny! Can you do something like what Zera does?" Nora then asked her partner who just shook his head.
"I don't think I could do anything close to what Zeratul's clearly capable of." He answered honestly.
"Awww…"
"Blake, don't you think you could pull something off similar?" Yang then asked.
"I don't think I can perform what he can do anytime soon."
"I will never admit directly to Yang or anyone else, but I really want to pull off what he did…"
"Well, I'm sure we could borrow RGQC's training ground since he has everything."
"Yea! That was so awesome with what he did!" Sun admitted.
"Such a badass." Coco admitted.
But that changes instantly as a childish laughter could be heard as Zeratul faces the darkness as a very familiar person makes her appearance. "I knew you'd find your way here …" Kerrigan states as her face appears from the darkness as her voice echoes.
"Kerrigan. This is not good." Ironwood states it as fact as pretty much everyone agreed.
"Why is she here though?" Ozpin then asked the right question.
"Eventually." She finished her sentence as the camera cut to Zeratul who retorted. But it also showed from Kerrigan's feet as it shows her having high heels. For some reason.
"Wait a minute. Did she really have high heels as a Zerg?" Torchwick noticed it and pointed it out.
"Whut? Why?" Neo asked next.
"Do not question it, I also have no idea why they gave her high heels. From master." Tamamo says as she reads the message from her master on the tablet.
"Then again, some of you here somehow fight with heels on." Tamamo gave a cheeky grin at Weiss who clearly has heels on.
"Your very presence defiles this place, Kerrigan."
Kerrigan ignored what Zeratul had just said as she continued on. "Do you hear them, Zeratul? Whispering from the stars?" She says as she looks around as whispers could be heard around them and in the theatre itself. "The galaxy will burn with their coming."
"Who's coming?" Velvet nervously wondered, seeing Kerrigan here is also not helping her at all.
"Something very big." Tamamo says ominously
"Perhaps …" Zeratul says back as the shadows take him as he disappears from sight.
"Where did he go?" Pietro then asked.
[Zeratul is currently cloaking himself from Kerrigan using his psionic abilities. He in short, is bending the light around him and using the shadows to hide his presence.]
"Is it theoretically possible to replicate this ability off?" Pietro continued.
[Yes, if you were to invest in it, it should be possible at your technological level. But it would take time and effort to pull it off. There are some individuals whose semblances should be able to do the exact thing.] QAI explained as Robyn's eyes widened. It reminds her that one of her teammate's semblance, May Marigold is able to do the exact same thing in an area instead of individually.
Kerrigan, realising that Zeratul cloaked away, began to look around for him as her eyes narrowed. She then looked up to see Zeratul uncloaking with a puff of darkness among the stalactites.
"But you won't live to see it!" Zeratul yells as he leapt from the stalactites, he's on and ignited his warp blade to attack Kerrigan. The camera cuts to Kerrigan sending a psionic bolt which hits Zeratul in the air, immobilising him in place in the air.
"So much for that attack." Neptune mumbled
"Yupp." Sun added in.
"Please ... our petty conflicts mean nothing now." Kerrigan says with her hand still stretched out to hold Zeratul in place while in the air. "A storm is coming that cannot be stopped." She continues as the camera cuts to Zeratul struggling to break out of Kerrigan's telekinesis as he then glances at his wrist blade as the camera goes down his arm.
"Fitting, that we should face oblivion together." Kerrigan finishes it off as Zeratul had enough of her talking as he countered defiantly.
"Never!" He yells as he reignited his warp blade before breaking out of Kerrigan's telekinesis and getting a diagonal slash on her as he aimed for Kerrigan's head. It however barely missed her head and instead cut the "arm" of Kerrigan's left wing instead. Without delay, Zeratul jumps back off her shoulders, landing some distance away with a sweet backflip that also causes a small crater to form around him.
"Awesome!"
"Sweet flip bro!"
"Did he just land a hit on her?"
"Yea, but I don't think it got to her directly."
The camera then cuts to Kerrigan as the wing separates at the cut and falls to the ground with a dramatic slow motion to add alongside it. She then turned her head and looked at the stump with an expression of slight surprise and fascination that the author doesn't even know why she had that expression.
"It appears that Zeratul was going for her head but missed it." Penny points out
"Yes… we can see that Penny." Yang glanced at her alongside several others.
The camera then cuts to Zeratul cloaking away before it shows him reappearing under a spot of daylight coming down from the ceiling. He then leans his right arm onto the rock as he clutches it with his left hand. Signifying that he's wounded after trading a hit with Kerrigan. Zeratul could only look at Kerrigan below as it cuts to show her staring back at him.
"Guess he didn't get that hit off without taking one himself." Torchwick sips a cup of wine as Neo agrees.
"Yea."
As Kerrigan was paying attention to Zeratul, a Hydralisk then came into the scene and rested its head under Kerrigan's left arm like a pet concerned over their owner in a way. Though in this case it's more like a drone worrying about its queen's health. Kerrigan, now alerted to the Hydralisk present, glances at it before she decides to stroke its head to assure it that she's fine.
"You know, if it won't for the fact that the Zerg are a bunch of murderous aliens that desire to assimilate or kill everyone. I would have said that it looks adorable and that it cares for her." Yang admitted.
"You mean like that Carbot animation RGQC wanted us to see as a break days ago?" Ruby remembered that part at how adorable the animated Zerglings were.
"Yea like that!"
"I still have it here! ~'' Nora singsongy pulled out the plush Zergling from somewhere much to the utter confusion of Emerald who had a hard time processing it.
"Where did you get that from? I don't remember seeing you carrying it earlier."
"Don't question it." Ren says as Nora begins playing with it.
The Hydralisk, seemingly understanding it's queen, retracted away from her arm as Kerrigan spoke up. Completely nonchalant that Zeratul just missed her head. "Fate cannot be changed. The end comes." Kerrigan says as the Camera pulls back to give the audience a full view of her carapace covered her body.
"I can't believe that I just noticed it but technically, Kerrigan's naked." Qrow points out as everyone has different reactions. All the guys immediately covered up their eyes in fear of the woman's wrath, all the women had mixed reactions to that fact as despite Kerrigan being infested. She still looked somewhat human with her face and body figure. Kinda.
"Well… assure you all. Most of her body is covered in carapace or skin-like chitin so you can't see her naughty bits if you're concerned about it." Tamamo says as it got everyone to calm down slightly.
"So, she's technically naked?" Penny asked with no reservations that got those near her to blush.
"Fufufu. Yes, in a way."
"And when it finds me…" She then gave a pause as she raised her left arm and glanced at her wing as it began to regenerate rapidly in front of everyone's eyes.
"Ok! What is that regeneration! That's ridiculous!" Weiss says out loud as everyone could agree with her. That healing is so fast that her wings are back in seconds. Ozpin however could only grimace as it reminded her of Salem in a way. Due to her unable to die, she'll regenerate from all her wounds as if it was nothing.
"Ozpin? Are you alright?" Tai asked as he was the first one to notice Ozpin's expression.
"I'm fine Tai. Nothing of concern."
This got unsure looks from the people around him as Raven had an idea of who he was thinking of.
Kerrigan looks back. "I shall embrace it at last." She states as she turned around and walked away as her Hydralisk escorts followed her.
"So basically, Kerrigan is talking about some sort of entity that is coming to wipe out everyone." Ruby then recounted everything she and everyone else had seen.
"Uh huh." Weiss grunted.
"And that once it comes, she's willing to embrace it."
"Yup." Blake added.
"And she needs to be stopped before something comes in the future that wishes to kill everyone."
"Definitely." Yang nodded.
"Hopefully they do it then."
"I'm sure they would stop her in some way, Ruby. I doubt they would let it happen anytime soon." Summer assured her daughter as Zeratul could be seen on screen.
"The prophecy is uncertain." Zeratul says as he stood up and walked backwards as he uttered once again. "There is always hope." And with that, Zeratul turned around and began climbing up the wall towards the crack just a few metres/feet above him, he eventually reached the top of it as he climbed out the hole and disappeared from the camera's vision as the screen darkens.
"Yea! There is always hope and a chance to defeat her! I know they can!"
"Ever the optimistic one eh kiddo?" Qrow chuckled as most of the audience believed that no matter what comes in the future, it can be stopped. They just have to find it as what Zeratul's doing right now. Cinder and several others are more cynical in their views about it.
As the screen lights up, Zeratul could be seen standing there before the shadows take him, though many of the audience could see ripples through the air as Zeratul began to move through the caverns as the camera followed him despite him being cloaked.
"He's cloaked and we can't see him." Robyn glanced at Tamamo who nodded back, all while everyone else could only wonder as to what they're supposed to see since Zeratul is cloaked.
"QAI, if you will." Tamamo made a request as QAI obliged.
[Understood. Will activate lenses on screen for vision of Zeratul.] As QAI says that, the screen had a tinge of blue on the side of it before it fades away. At the same time, Zeratul became visible to the audience though, he is noticeably semi-transparent and there is a teal outline all over his body.
"Do note that this is usually how everyone else would see a cloaked unit. But for our sake we're using this feature so that we may track Zeratul." Tamamo stated it while occasionally fanning herself with her fan.
"I see. How interesting." Pietro wrote down some notes as the screen continued on.
Zeratul then begins to move on until he encounters a Zerg outpost of a Zergling, a Hydralisk and a spine crawler. To say the least, they didn't stand a chance and they couldn't see Zeratul as he dashed forward and dissected the Zergling into two. This got a reaction from both the Hydralisk and Spine crawler. The Hydralisk began to slitter away before burrowing into the ground as Zeratul could be seen leaping towards the unrooted spine crawler before dicing it into bits.
"I can see that even the Zerg can't attack something they can't see." Penny stated it as fact.
"Well, it makes sense to me, Penny. I can't hit something if I can't see it in the first place." Ruby makes a point as Penny continues on.
"That's true friend Ruby!"
"You've made some interesting friends Ruby. I'm proud of you." Summer then caresses her daughter's head as Ruby let out a giggle.
As Zeratul recovered from slaughtering some Zerg, he muttered out to himself. "The prophecy was divided into fragments, each kept at separate shrines. I must gather them and depart this world quickly."
"Wait, so he's just here to gather the fragments of the prophecy and leave this place? Then again, Kerrigan knows that he's here so I suppose it makes sense." Jaune wondered before coming to that conclusion as his partner Pyrrha adds.
"Do mind that he's technically still injured. Yet he can still act and fight as if he's fine. I doubt most of us could do the same if we're injured."
Zeratul then continued on his journey as he then reached a chasm that's wide enough that he can't jump across. "This chasm is vast. It is fortunate that I can phase through the shadows to the other side!" Zeratul states before he blinked in a puff of smoke as he could then be seen across the chasm as he immediately sliced a Hydralisk head off as the roach could be seen scurrying away before burrowing.
Zeratul continued on his journey as a rather long rock bridge ahead of him collapsed suddenly. In response, Zeratul just blinked across the chasm and moved on though before having his path obstructed by some massive rocks in the way.
"That's some huge ass rocks in the way. How is he going to get through it?" Yang wondered.
"Can't he blink through it?" Wiess then gave a glance at her blond teammate.
"I think he needs line of sight to blink. Or else he might get stuck on something if he does it wrongly. I think." Blake tossed her thought into the discussion.
"Or what if he smashes the rocks?" Nora so willingly adds in.
"I think you mean cut through the rocks Nora."
"No! Smash!"
Zeratul then observed the rocks carefully as his eyes could be seen glancing all over the place. Zeratul then comes to a conclusion as he ignites his warp blade and gives one clean slice upwards. What resulted was the rocks collapsing as he jumped back, leaving a small opening for him to blink through.
"Or do that apparently." Ilia finally says something throughout this viewing. (Totally not because I nearly forgot about her…)
"Yeah…"
Zeratul continued onwards only to be stopped again with another Zerg outpost. Only this one has a spore crawler which could detect his presents and alert any nearby Zerg to him. As he summarised it, "Spore crawlers can detect my presence! I should stun them with my Void Prison."
"Void Prison?" Ironwood raised an eyebrow.
"Void prison is Zeratul using his psionic power to temporarily disable any unit or building while keeping it frozen in place. When used on anyone, it would prevent them from doing anything or in this case, it would prevent the spore crawler from detecting him." Tamamo explained that to everyone as they were only fascinated by such powers.
Zeratul then could be seen blinking forward and as he'd finished the process of blinking, he extended his hand out as a ball of psionic power emerged from his hand before it hit the spore crawler. What happens next was that a ball of psionic energy expands itself around the spore crawler, disabling it and allowing Zeratul to wipe out the Zerg defenders that so happened to be near the spore crawler.
"Awesome! It's so useful!" Ruby cheered as they all watched as Zeratul elegantly, and brutally sliced through the Zerg in the area.
As the remaining Zerg defenders at the side are all eliminated rather quickly, Zeratul sends four precise slashes against the spore crawler as it dies. He then moved up the ramp only to a gutter growl to be heard as an Ultralisk could be seen walking in much to the horror at how massive that thing was; it looks bigger than the archon that they'd had seen in the previous mission.
"What. Is. that. Thing." Tai was dismayed by the size of that thing as everyone could only look at Tamamo who just responded by reading it out on her tablet.
"That's an Ultralisk, or as Raynor put it. 'But the biggest badass of them all...is the aptly named Ultralisk.' That Zerg strain is known for being living battering rams and siege breakers. Remember the Siege tank bunker combo from earlier? They would struggle to deal with an Ultralisk pack. That's how tanky and dangerous they are."
"I'm going to need a bigger hammer." Nora mumbled.
"I think you're going to need one the size of a bullhead." Coco adds in.
As for Cinder, after recovering from her shock, she wondered. What if Salem were to get her hands on one of those things? Could it create a new species of Grimm that is basically unstoppable? Clearly if that's the case, she doubts that any Huntsman or Huntresses could stand up to how large that thing is.
Emerald could only glance at Cinder before looking back at the screen. Oh, and Mercury is still unconscious.
Zeratul however, just narrowed his eyes as he charged at that thing before blinking onto its back as the Ultralisk let out a roar when it sensed something on his back. He then plunged his warp blade onto its rugged armour plating before dragging it as he ran towards the Ultralisk head.
The Ultralisk roared as it began to shake its entire body in an attempt to get Zeratul off it. As that was going on, a Hydralisk could be seen unborrowing from the ground before it began to fire spines at Zeratul whose shields activate to deflect it. Zeratul reacts by jumping off the Ultralisk as the screen slows down as he twirled his body around and trapped the Ultralisk in a void prison.
Time seemed to return back to normal as Zeratul landed directly onto the Hydralisk before planting his warp blade through its skull as Zerglings could be seen emerging from the ground and charged directly at him. Zeratul then ran directly at them as all he needed was one slice to kill each Zergling with such elegance. Zeratul leapt from the ground before blinking directly into Ultralisk's face and began stabbing the hell out of it in the eyes while it's still stuck in the void prison.
The Ultralisk let out a roar of pain and it began to collapse when Zeratul jumped from its head and stabbed his blade into the Ultralisk belly before letting gravity do the rest as the warp blade sliced it's belly open. The monstrosity collapses and dies, Zeratul then quickly blink away to not get crushed by its large mass.
To say the least, everyone else was at awe at how skilled Zeratul was as he swiftly dealt with such a large Zerg and its help with no issue. They honestly felt that if they're in his position, they would definitely struggle with the size of that thing.
"Wow! What skill!" Coco was the first to state her mind as everyone else joined in.
"I must say, that was an amazing display of skill Zeratul did right there!" Penny stated her thoughts.
"Awesome! Renny! I need a laser hammer then I can squish em!"
"How would that work?" Jaune wondered as Pyrrha could only shrug.
"Despite them being able to see him, Zeratul is quite proficient and skilled." Glynda observed.
"That is true." Ironwood adds in.
Zeratul moved on after wiping out the remaining Zerg in the area before his path was blocked by another chasm that so happens to have a ton of Zerg on the opposite side of where he was, and there's also a spore crawler there as well.
"That spore crawler can detect me from across the chasm. It must be destroyed." Zeratul states as he fired a psionic bolt directly at the spore crawler before blinking over and destroying it. That got a reaction out of the countless Zerglings and roaches in the area as they all quickly burrow into the ground to escape from Zeratul who walked on.
This time however, there's a rather large Zerg patrolling in the skies. What could be summarised as a ball full of large eyes and appendages could be seen floating around.
What is that thing?" Yang asked.
"That Yang-chan," This earned giggles from Yang's team as Tamamo continued. "Overseers are genetically-altered overlords that have a mass of additional sockets filled with highly evolved optical receptors with hypersensitive retinas. Unlike most other Zerg breeds but like overlords, overseers have the ability to act with appropriate judgement, but are severely limited in their mental flexibility. In short, those Overseers can see Zeratul's presence."
"I suppose they're the Zerg's version of detectors" Ozpin came to that conclusion as Tamamo nodded.
"Correct."
"That Overseer can see through my cloak. I'd best stun it with my Void Prison before crossing the chasm." Zeratul points out the obvious as like before, he traps the Overseer in a void prison before blinking over and one hitting any Hydralisk in the area.
"Talk about him being Captain Obvious about things he knows already. I wonder why he is saying that out loud?" Sun wondered.
[Zeratul's been in seclusion for four years already, being alone during that time can affect anyone given time. And he's been through a lot before that already. But that's a story for another time. Let us continue.] QAI answered Sun's question as he nodded back.
He then moved on until he reached the first fragment of the prophecy as he reached his hand out to it as bits of the Xel'Naga shrine glowed and parts of it began to float.
"The first fragment of the prophecy! Soon all will be made clear." Zeratul says it as fact as the shrine deactivates.
"It better be worth the trouble by the end of it." Torchwick mumbled.
Soon the shrine stopped glowing and the parts that were previously floating, returned back to their original place. At the same time, the ancient Xel'Naga door to his left then began to unfold itself as pieces of it came off it and landed on the floor, allowing Zeratul to continue on his journey.
"That's… a unique way for a door to open." Wiess hummed.
"True. Not every day do we see parts of the door come off and land on the floor." Neptune adds in.
But things weren't as calm as Kerrigan's face makes an appearance in her sing-songy and cheerful tone. "Why not surrender yourself to oblivion, Zeratul? Wouldn't it be better to end your struggle now than witness the final agonizing moments of your species?" Kerrigan questions as swarms of Zerg flyers that look like mini Mutalisk could be seen flying as Zeratul looked up slightly before he continued on his way.
This earned frowns from pretty much everyone. The idea that Kerrigan is preaching that the end is coming is strange and unnerving, they also come to the conclusion that Kerrigan must have already seen the prophecy already. But some were more interested in the Zerg flyers in the air, or as Nora would call them.
"Mini Mutas!" She pointed out as Tamamo gave a hearty laugh before she explained to them.
"Those 'Mimi mutas' that Nora chan calls them are actually Scourges. Think of them like Banelings, but for air units instead. Each of them could take out a Terran starfighter by itself or leave breaches in bigger ships."
"I don't think that's any better." Ilia states her thoughts as pretty much everyone has to agree with her. Having flying suicide bombers would destroy every single ship Atlas has.
Tamamo just giggled before speaking again. "It's not."
"The foreboding prophecy weighs heavily on my heart. I'd best reach the remaining shrines before she reconsiders letting me live." Zeratul says to himself as he blinks onwards.
"Wait, so Kerrigan's just using him as a toy? That's so not cool at all." Neptune glanced at his partner who wholeheartedly agreed.
"Yea. That's just straight up cruel."
As Zeratul blinked onwards, the sound of Mutalisk screeching could be heard as the scourges could be seen flocking around him. His thoughts were shared by pretty much everyone. "So much for Kerrigan's reprieve!" His frustration got even worse when there's an overseer among the flying Zerg flocking around him.
"Great. Just great." Tai grumbled.
"Yup. He has to keep moving if he is to survive." Qrow adds in.
"I'm sure that Zeratul would make it out."
"Ever the optimist huh Summer?" Raven gave a small smile.
Though fate was on Zeratul's side when suddenly, four stalkers warped into where Zeratul was as one of them cried out. "For Shakuras!"
"Reinforcements!" Ruby cheered on as the morale of everyone watching rose.
As soon as they finished warping in, they unleashed their particle disruptors upon the Mutalisk as Zeratul trapped one of them in a void prison. It wasn't long till they wiped out the Mutalisk assault as well as the overseer overseeing (Hah!) them as well.
"Greetings, exalted one. We are here in the service of High Templar Karass. He is nearby." One of the stalkers walked up to Zeratul to address him.
"Looks like there's others here. I wonder why…" Ozpin hummed before taking a sip of hot cocoa.
"Your presence is most welcome. Let us keep moving." Zeratul says as the stalker nodded back, and in flash both Zeratul and his stalkers blinked towards their destination.
As they pushed onwards, Zeratul and his stalker escorts encountered various problems that required both he and his stalkers to work together. One example was when Zeratul needed to trap an overseer in a void prison so that his stalkers could take it out and not get instantly filled with spines. Or another when he and his stalkers needed to push through another Zerg outpost that had an Ultralisk guarding it.
"Teamwork makes the dream work, eh?" Yang gave a smile as he glanced at her team.
"Yea!" The other's cheered.
But as Zeratul moved onwards, the next Zerg patrol was in the form of two massive winged Zerg monstrosities in the skies.
"Whoa… those things are big and terrifying." Velvet pointed out as QAI takes initiative.
[Those manta-like flyers are called Brood lords. They are the Zerg's aerial siege units. Each of them contains countless Broodlings inside it in which it uses them like living weapons. The brood lord 'supercharges' each Broodling before launching them directly at any targets causing massive impact damage. Said Broodlings would begin to shred anything and everything before dying off from their short lifespan or being destroyed.]
"So, they use Broodlings as their projectiles? Interesting…" Pietro came to a conclusion.
"I agree father!" Penny joins in. "If that's the case, Brood lords are extremely dangerous since if they are left uncontested, they would constantly send wave after wave of Broodlings at their targets."
[Correct Penny. They do have a weakness; they are unable to defend themselves from any air units attacking them. For example, Terran Vikings would shred them at a rapid pace as long as they don't get close to it. Brood lords are known for ramming ships if they get close.] (Added the ramming part from the wikia.)
"Stalker, lure that Brood lord closer, I can stun them with my Void Prison and leave it vulnerable to you all." Zeratul ordered as the stalker nodded in return.
"As the Dark Prelate commands." And with that, the stalker moves close as the brood lord notices the stalker and moves in. Seeing the Brood lord approaching it, the stalker blinked back as Zeratul moved in to stun it, Psionic energies could be seen gathering in Zeratul's hand before he sent it directly at the Brood lord.
Once the brood lord was stunned in the Void prison, the stalkers blinked in and blasted that Zerg flyer to oblivion. Zeratul and his stalkers then pushed through that blockage as a swarm of scourges could be seen flying over them and heading to an unknown destination.
As they blinked onwards, the sound of Mutalisk screeching could be heard in the caverns itself as Zeratul and his stalkers looked around with their guard up. Zeratul, realising what's going to happen, alerted his brethren.
"Ambush?" Kali tilted her head. This mission is quite different from the previous ones since it's based on Zeratul. Besides, most of the time it is her husband that is doing all the planning back in Menagerie. So, it's understandable that Kali's not familiar with it.
"Ambush." Ghira nodded.
"Prepare for an aerial attack. Brace yourselves my brethren!" And as Zeratul says that, Scourges could be seen flying all over them as Mutalisk descends onto them as an overseer could be seen flying over the area all while roaches and even an Ultralisk could be seen unborrowing themselves and began moving towards them.
"Seriously, that's like the third Ultralisk we've seen already? How many more are we going to have to see?" Sun wondered.
"Knowing where this story is heading, there will be many more." Blake glanced at Sun before looking back.
It was then that Yang remembered something. "Oh yeah! Since RGQC is not here and QAI is not willing to answer, how are Mutalisk glaive worms made? Can you tell us how?"
[Tamamo. Do not tell them. It is for their sake.] QAI instantly objected as Tamamo could be seen glancing at Yang before looking at the screen all with a smirk on her face.
"Should… I or should I not?" Tamamo asked cheekily.
[Don't do it Tama-]
"Do it!" Yang interjected.
"Mmm… Naaa…" Tamamo waved it off as it got a pout from Yang all while giggles or chuckles could be heard from everyone else.
"Don't worry Yang, I'm sure there's a good reason why they wouldn't want you to know about it." Summer assured her daughter.
"Either that, or they just want to tease ya." Qrow added in as Tamamo let out a mischievous giggle. Teasing them is so fun…
Zeratul and his stalkers fend off the Zerg ambush by utilising his to delay the Ultralisk as he and his stalker escorts fend off both the Mutalisk attacks as well as the Roaches before working together and kiting the Ultralisk much to Ironwood's interest.
"QAI if I may ask, what tactic are they doing right there?" He asked as a Stalker could be seen running away and occasionally blinking away from the Ultralisk as Zeratul and the other stalkers took it down.
[This tactic they're using is called kiting. Kiting is a tactic of keeping an enemy chasing you while also keeping it at a range where it cannot attack you. This tactic is often used to more safely attack the enemy using a long-range attack or to distract the enemy while others attack it. In this case, the Ultralisk has its sights on one of the stalkers. So, it runs away as its brethren attack it. Though this would only work on less intelligent opponents or with someone who's very good at distracting opponents.] QAI explained as Irondaddy nodded.
As they pushed onwards, Zeratul encountered another Zerg outpost. Except this one has hatcheries alongside several spine crawlers as well as Mutalisk, brood lords and overseers. "The Queen of Blades built hatcheries here! She seeks to subvert this sacred world. I shall put an end to that plan." Zeratul says it as he and his stalkers work together in destroying the outpost itself.
Once they had cleansed the area of Zerg, they moved on until they reached the second Xel'Naga shrine as Zeratul, like before, reached his hand out to it as he read through the inscriptions on the shrine itself.
"I wonder how Oobleck would react to all these inscriptions…" Ozpin wondered.
"Probably as well as any historian finding the history of Remnant."
"I… suppose that's true."
"The second fragment of the prophecy! My task is nearly complete." Zeratul says out loud as the ancient Xel'Naga door to his right then begins to unfold itself open and allow him and his stalker escorts to press forward.
"Your hope is an illusion, old fool." Kerrigan says as she appears on screen. Obviously annoyed that he still lives. Knowing that Kerrigan can read his thoughts, Zeratul retorted.
"If you can so easily read my mind, Kerrigan - you'll see that I'll never give up so long as hope remains!"
"Yea! Hope always exists!" Ruby cheered out as Raven could only look at her. Ruby is much like her mother in many ways, a part of her would call her optimism foolish but, with the truth revealed just recently, Raven would allow that optimism to stay. Perhaps they do all have a chance against Salem. Now only if RGQC would tell Ozpin as to how to beat her…
Zeratul then moved forward and cleared off the stones blocking their path as he gave a warning. "Careful now. Kerrigan has set guards to bar our way. It could be a trap. We should take them out carefully, one at a time, or risk being overwhelmed." Zeratul explained.
"As the Dark Prelate wills it."
And with that, they pushed onwards while wiping out any Zerg guards in the way. But as they pushed onwards. A dozen or so Banelings erupted from the ground themselves as they began to crawl towards Zeratul and his stalkers. Understandably, seeing how devastating those living bags of acid were in the previous missions, everyone else could only worry as Zeratul alerted his escorts. "The Banelings spew acid when they die. Stalkers, take them out from a distance!" Zeratul ordered his stalkers as they began firing at the walking sacs filled with acid."
"That's a lot of Banelings. Do you think they could take them all on?" Velvet asked as she tried to calm her nerves by chewing on some carrot cake.
"Not really." Fox adds in.
"They could blink out of the way." Sun offered his suggestion
"Or run the opposite direction. That could also work." Blake hummed.
As the Banelings slowly got closer by the second, Zeratul then gave an order. "Stalkers, follow me!" and with that, Zeratul blinked across the chasm as the stalkers did the same. This resulted in a rather humorous reaction as the Banelings looked absolutely confused for a second or two before they began to waddle back to where they were hiding. But by the time they reached there, Zeratul and his stalkers had already blinked ahead and through another chasm.
"Well, I guess with a blink, they could just slip through anyone." Robyn glanced at Tamamo who was reading something on that tablet of hers.
"This hatchery must be destroyed if I am to keep the Queen of Blades from subverting this land." Zeratul says it as fact it didn't take long for him and his stalkers to take out the guards watching over the hatchery as well as another Ultralisk.
"There goes another Ultralisk."
They then blinked back to where the Banelings were and yet, they weren't there for some reason. (I had no idea where they went. Not sure if they despawn or something but I don't think that's the case. Might be a bug I think…) So, they just move onwards.
"Strange… where did those acid bois go?" Nora tilted her head in confusion.
"Acid bois?" Ren could only glance as his not girlfriend as Tamamo just sat there and gave the :3 face.
"Blake has some interesting friends, yes? I think we should talk to them if we get the chance…" Kali turned her head towards her husband who only grunted in agreement. He wishes to know more of her friends, since his daughter is clearly hanging out with a Schnee. And besides, he and his dear wife haven't really introduced themselves fully.
Ilia on the other hand, could only wonder why Blake was hanging out with a Schnee of all people, and don't get her started on the fact that Blake hadn't given her a proper answer as to why she left. Perhaps her alternative daughter could give some insight, since obviously from their first encounter, Lily knows her well.
Zeratul moved onwards with his stalker escorts and continued onwards while occasionally slaughtering even more Zerg before they arrived to see several spine and spore crawlers crawling towards the creep.
"Spine Crawlers! Kill them before they can take root and attack!" Zeratul ordered as he and his stalkers blinked into action as everyone noticed something, they're moving much slower than expected compared to the last time they'd seen them move.
"Is it me or are those spine crawlers moving much slower than expected?" Qrow wondered.
"You're not wrong Qrow-sama." Tamamo nodded as she glanced at the tablet before looking back at everyone. "While a Zerg can move without creep relatively fine, most Zerg would be much faster while one would, while others need creep to move at all. In this case, Spore and Spine crawlers. They need creep to even move at all and none of them can root in creepless terrain."
This earned ah from the group as they continued watching.
Zeratul and his stalkers blinked into action as appeared right in front of the crawler's path towards the creep not too far away. Zeratul could be seen dancing around them and inflicting serious wounds onto them as his stalkers literally body blocking them and filling them with holes. In fact, the crawlers could be seen pushing up against the stalkers as their shields became visible as they pressed upon it.
Torchwick could be heard chuckling at how absurd the situation is as, this could be considered bullying since those crawlers couldn't do shit in the slightest to them. Nevertheless, he's not the only one chuckling or laughing at it. Several others like Neo, the students and even people like Ozpin could be seen giving a smirk for some reason.
As the last of the crawlers were defeated and Zeratul moved on with his escorts through the cavern, one of the stalkers spoke out to issue an alert. "High Templar Karass is nearby." Zeratul could only nod in response as they then encountered another rock blockade. But instead of destroying it, Zeratul just blinked through it as the stalkers followed him.
"Wait, if he can do it, why didn't he do it earlier?" Weiss pointed out with justification.
"Like I said earlier, I think they need line of sight to pull it off properly. My guess is that they can pass through it." Blake slurped on some juice.
After they blinked through, Zeratul and his stalkers encountered what could be described as a contingent of Zealots all standing by as an orange coloured high templar could be seen watching over them. At the same time, Zeratul could be seen decloaking as he walked towards them.
"En Taro Tassadar, Prelate Zeratul! I am High Templar Karass." The high templar greeted Zeratul as two warp prisms could be seen approaching the area before unfolding themselves much to the audience surprise.
Knowing what's on the audience's mind, Tamamo spoke. "Those are warp prisms, I believe you all have seen it in the previous missions but yes, they can create a power field by unfolding themselves like those on screen."
As soon as those warp prisms unfold themselves, Zealots could be seen warping into the field themselves as Karass continued with his explanation.
"My force tracked the Queen of Blades to this world - yet we know not what she seeks." As Karass explained, those Zealots who had just warped in joined the rest of the Zealots waiting for orders.
"So, they are here because they detected Kerrigan in this world?" Tai raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, Kerrigan, murdered millions of both Protoss and Terran alike. As she called herself the queen bitch of the universe as absolutely everyone despises her to the core and wants her dead. Especially the Protoss."
"What a title to call herself." Qrow snarked.
"Kerrigan and I were both drawn here to uncover an ancient prophecy. With your aid, I pray we can discover it before her." Zeratul explained to Karass as the screen pans to show a heavily defended Zerg outpost that has various Zerg on watch with an Ultralisk to go alongside a heavily defended blockade of spore and spines.
"Those defences look harder to break through, though with their help. I see them going through it with low casualties." Ironwood made an observation as the screen continued.
"It is an honor, great one! Lead on." Karass answered as Zeratul cloaked as his stalkers got into position. And in one nod, everyone charged into the fray with various cheers and war cries. But the most common one that was heard was,
"En Taro Tassadar!"
Zealots charged towards the Zerg with no hesitation nor fear, Zeratul and his stalkers blinked in closer as Zeratul trapped the Ultralisk in a Void prison all while Zerg blood began to stain the floors and armour of those in combat.
"I've placed the Ultralisk in a Void Prison. Bring it down, Karass!" Zeratul says as his stalkers begin firing upon the trapped Ultralisk as Zealots could be seen charging directly at the Ultralisk with a couple literally jumping directly at it as Zeratul could be seen moving in for the kill from the shadows.
"Yea! Awesome!"
As that was going on, swarms of Zergling erupted from the ground itself as Karass could be seen casting a psionic storm that fried a large group of them at once, the others were cut down effortlessly. But as they wiped out the waves, Karass could be seen channelling his psionic ability, as psionic energies could be seen gathering around him. Right before every Zealot in the vicinity shields glowed with a flash that enveloped them all.
"What was that?" Pietro raised an eyebrow of interest.
"That ability is called Plasma surge." Tamamo explained as she continued on. "It is an ability in which expirenced High Templars channels psionic energy into the plasma shields of their Protoss allies. This results in those that were being cast on to have their shields recharge rapidly."
"I believe RGQC mention it a while back in the Smash and Grab mission if I'm right." Penny tilted her head innocently.
"Correct. As a refresher for those who weren't paying attention or were not present, the protoss can use their psionic abilities to shield themselves, charge their tools and weapons and they can also perform paranormal effects."
With their shields recharged, the Zealots throw themselves at the spine and spore crawler defences as Mutalisk could be seen entering the battlefield. Seeing this, Karass calls for Zeratul's aid. "Zeratul! Can you destroy the airborne Zerg?"
"We can." Zeratul responded back as his stalkers blinked closer and began firing directly at the Mutalisk. At the same time, Broodlords could be seen entering the battle and began sending Broodlings directly at Karass's Zealots as Zeratul blinked forward and stunned one of them.
His stalkers joined right into the fray as the ground shook violently during the battle.
"Oh boy." Torchwick and others immediately knew what it meant when the ground shakes like that but all they could do was frown as the battle continued.
"Wormies are here. SQUISH EM!" Nora was deadpanned at first before she started yelling
Multiple Nydus worms then suddenly erupted from the ground below before letting their roar signifying their arrival before puking out swarms of Zerglings. Noticing that the situation had become even more difficult, Zeratul speaks out.
"These nydus worms must be destroyed or the Zerg reinforcements will overwhelm us! Stalkers! Take the high ground and support our brethren!"
"As you command." The stalkers spoke out as they blinked onto higher ground and began blasting the worms to hell, all while they screeched in pain. Zeratul even helped out by blinking forward and locked one of the worms inside his void prison. But due to the earlier battles as well as the amount of Zerglings flooding out of the worms, Several Zealots had already perished and more would also die due to obvious signs of flashes of light appearing among the battlefield as red and dark purplish blood soak the caverns.
Everyone watching the scene could only grimace at the slaughter happening in front of them all, in fact, it irks them by the amount of blood spilled in that scene. It was far more than what they had seen so far in the previous missions.
"Tamamo." Penny then spoke out when she noticed the purplish blood. "Are protoss blood purple? Because I'm seeing some of them on the field covered in purple blood."
"Hai. Protoss blood is in the form of a dark purplish colour. This is due to their blood cells containing a special compound called hemerythrin when oxygenated." (I'm just guessing at this bloody point. Besides, some animals on earth have purple blood. Google it, quite interesting I must say.)
"Interesting…" Ironwood could be seen rubbing his chin.
Zeratul's stalkers focused fire on the Nydus worms in the back as he himself could be seen performing summersaults through the fight as he began slashing the worms in the weak spots. One by one. The Nydus worms fell to Zeratul's attacks as well as support fire from the stalkers above.
"Zeratul has destroyed their worms - press on!" Karass commanded his fellow Protoss to push onwards with various cheers as Ultralisk could be seen erupting from the ground itself. But they too fell to the onslaught of the Protoss with relatively minimal casualties with the assistance of Zeratul and his stalkers.
"Oh boy. More Ultralisk hiding in the ground for some reason. How many more Ultralisk do you guys think would pop up?" Jaune then decided to ask.
"I believe a couple more are going to show up at this rate." Pyrrha faced Jaune before looking back at the screen.
"Dark Prelate," One of the stalkers walked up to Zeratul. "We spotted a Hatchery across the chasm during our fight."
"The Queen of Blades seeks to pervert this world with that hatchery. We must destroy it." Zeratul responded back as Karass nodded.
"Prelate Zeratul. Take your stalkers and deal with that hatchery, my forces will wait and guard the prophecy with our lives until you return."
"You have my thanks, friend Karass." And with that, Zeratul and his stalkers blinked to a chasm in which Zeratul had a hunch that it would lead him to the hatchery. That theory was proven correct sooner than later as he soon came across another hatchery guarded by roaches and spine crawlers.
"Let's hope this is the last of these hatcheries." Tai hoped. Seeing these Zerg structures breathing is unnerving the hell outta him.
As expected with the previous hatcheries earlier, Zeratul worked with his stalkers to cleanse the area of Zerg filth as he and his stalkers destroyed the last hatchery in the vicinity. "It is done. All of Kerrigan's hatcheries are destroyed. There is yet hope for this world." Zeratul mumbled out as he and his stalkers blinked out of the chasm they were in and rendezvous with Karass.
As Zeratul made it back, he then walked past everyone as he then began to interact with the last shrine with his hand reached out.
"I assume after this, Zeratul would have to leave this planet, right? If that's the case, what will happen to Karass?" Ilia made a good point as now everyone began to wonder about his fate.
"Uh… Hopefully he also flees the planet too. I don't think with their forces they could beat Kerrigan." Ruby nervously pointed out. The fact that Kerrigan was on the planet and the fact that she had not shown herself made Ruby nervous.
"I must agree with Ms Rose here. Besides, I can see that several of Karass's forces are wounded." Ozpin then pointed out.
"The final piece of the prophecy. It speaks of one who shall "...break the cycle of the gods..." Zeratul began to narrate it.
"One who shall break the cycle of the gods…" Ozpin narrowed his eyes as he began to ponder it in his head.
"Ozpin?" Glynda glanced at her headmaster.
"Cycle of the gods…" Ozpin mumbled again.
"Oz?" Qrow was next to be concerned.
"I… unfortunately have no clue as to what that means. But whatever it was, it can never be good."
"Agreed." Ironwood nodded for he had come to a similar conclusion.
"Most ominous." Karass agreed as Zeratul turned to face him. "But if the Queen of Blades seeks this prophecy, we must keep it from her."
"The rest is obscured... what?" Zeratul continued only for everyone, including the audience to notice that Kerrigan was watching them as an unnerving music began to play. All the Zealots still alive ignited their blades as the stalkers faced Kerrigan, ready to blast her with their Particle disruptor.
"Oh crap. She's here." Sun's eyes widened at the fact that Kerrigan just appeared on the very same high ground Zeratul's stalkers were using to support their brethren.
"Not good, not good!" Neptune had to agree.
"What's with this music? It's unnerving as hell. Also, Kerrigan's here so uh oh." Yang gave a frown before her face pales at the sight of Kerrigan suddenly appearing on screen.
"Whatever it is, they should probably run right now." Weiss glanced at her team.
"I knew it! They need to leave now!" Ruby panicked as Summer began to do her best to calm her daughter.
"Ah hell. Queen bitch of the universe is here." Emerald mumbled.
"You might peel away the prophecy's layers, Zeratul," Kerrigan began to walk back away from them as the camera followed her. "but you cannot outrun the doom that awaits us all!" Kerrigan then with a single move, causes hundreds of Zerglings to erupt from the ground itself as well as several Ultralisks could also be seen erupting from the ground.
The amount of Zerg that suddenly appeared caused pretty much everyone to pale in terror and the fact that they were there the entire time doesn't make it easier.
"Damn, they have to leave now. There's too many of them." Ironwood lost his composure for a split second.
"Sir, I don't think they can escape with the Zerg on their tail."
"Specialist Winter is correct!" Penny spoke out. "There's a high chance of them getting overwhelmed if they were to stay. They must leave now!"
The camera then cuts to show Zeratul speaking to his stalkers. "We cannot prevail against so many!" He says as his stalkers could be seen walking off as Karass rests his arm on Zeratul.
"I will stand against the Queen of Blades while you escape with the fragments!" Karass says as his Zealots could be seen moving into position to make their final stand. Zeratul however was not so inclined to having to sacrifice a fellow brother.
"Are you serious?! There has to be another way!" Ruby protests the idea of sacrificing one to save another. But she wasn't the only one protesting at the idea of Karass giving his life to save Zeratul. Others also voiced their displeasure of it.
"I don't think this is the case kiddo." Qrow pointed out as several of the adults had to agree with the dusty crow.
Even Ilia was reminded of the times in which the Fang had to sacrifice some of their members to the authorities when one of their raiding missions was botched.
This earned frowns from pretty much most of the younger audience as the screen resumed.
"I will not abandon you!" Zeratul argued but Karass countered.
"The prophecy is more important than either of us! Reveal its secrets, Zeratul! The future rests on it!" And with that, Karass made his way to join his brothers in their final defence to buy Zeratul time. Zeratul looked disheartened as he quickly made his way towards his stalkers waiting for him at the ancient Xel'Naga door as it opened up. Zeratul also activated his cloaking once again before he muttered sombrely.
"Your sacrifice will not be forgotten, Brother." And with that, Zeratul and his stalkers move on as the caverns shake the oncoming Zerg.
"Nor will we forget it." Summer nodded as some others agreed with her.
"I must get to the Void Seeker before the Zerg overwhelm me and the prophecy is lost!" Zeratul said out loud as a nydus worm erupted from the ground behind him and began spewing out Zerg. "Stalkers! Do not stop now, we must reach the Void seeker!"
"Protect the Dark Prelate!" One of the stalkers ordered as they all moved in front of Zeratul to act as his shield. As they continued to move onwards, Zerg could be seen behind them and the skies were thick with Zerg flyers as well as Overseers. As they move on, rooted spine crawlers could be seen sending attacks as Zeratul and his stalkers blinked forward as the sound of nydus worms screeching could be heard in the background.
"They got to move! I can see them behind them and catch up to them fast!" Coco pointes out the tension in the theatre room got higher and higher every second as even more Zerg could be seen pursuing Zeratul and his stalkers.
"Run!" Sun yelled out.
"What he said! Don't look back!" Neptune also joined in.
"Hurry Zera! Before the Zergies get you!" Nora cheered onwards.
As the chase was on, Karass appeared on screen to utter his dying breath. "Now... I shall become one... with the Khala."
"Damn, he didn't last long, did he?" Tai cursed.
"But enough time for Zeratul to escape I believe." Summer hoped.
"I must get to the Void Seeker and preserve the prophecy. I will not let my brothers' sacrifice be in vain." Zeratul blinked over a rock blockage alongside his stalkers only to run into another as Ultralisk could be seen smashing the blockage with ease.
"Stalkers! Destroy the rocks or all is lost!" Zeratul ordered his stalkers as he began to cut a path open.
"Antu'kha." One of the stalkers says out for them all to hear as they blast the rocks to make a path.
"Antu… Kha…? What's that?" Ruby then asked with curiosity.
[Antu'kha. In Khalani translates to Cold fury.]
"Khalani… I assume this is their native language?" Pietro then asked.
[Correct.]
"Besides that, they're almost there!" Ruby points on the screen as the Void seeker could be seen not too far away.
As the blockade in front of them was destroyed, Zeratul and his stalkers quickly blinked onto the platform in which his Void Seeker was located as a nydus worm erupted very close to them. But they made it. As they got close to the Void Seeker, they all blinked inside it as it began to take off as thousands of Zerg could be seen behind them.
"By Ohm! They just made it!" Weiss lets out a sigh of relief as cheer could be heard by everyone else at Zeratul's survival.
The scene then cuts to show the Void Seeker flying in deep space as Zeratul could be heard narrating it all. "I cannot decipher the fragments on my own. Yet I know who might interpret them: the Preservers of Zhakul."
"Preservers? They must be important if Zeratul needs to see them." Qrow asked with a raised eyebrow.
[They are. Preservers were a very small group of Khalai protoss who held the memories of other dead Khalai. Their purpose is to protect and maintain the memories of the greatest protoss who have ever lived. Though the Khala was usable by all Khalai, the depth of the Khala made it difficult for most protoss to maintain the focus needed to pull specific memories, and only preservers had the strength to fully delve into the Khala's depths. The memories accessible to preservers could be millennia old. It was claimed preservers have access to the memories of every dead Khalai. When a Khalai died their memories were instantly transferred to the preservers.] QAI explained before Tamamo shortened it for everyone's sake.
"In short they possess immense knowledge that Zeratul needed to interpret the fragments of a Xel'Naga prophecy." This earned ahs from everyone.
"If they cannot... I fear this entire universe will burn." Zeratul could only fear as the screen shows the Void Seeker zipping off into the void as the screen darkens.
Tamamo clapped her hands as she stood up. "And we are done for now. Master recommends that you all take a break. How about a visit to the hot springs?"
"That sounds great!" Ruby then stood up onto her feet.
"Yea hot spring! I approve!" Nora jumped out of her chair.
"That sounds nice." Velvet agreed as Coco wrapped her arm around her.
"Damn straight! I want to know what it's like."
Unfortunately for everyone, as they were about to leave the theatre room, a pained howl could be heard throughout the realms itself, Tamamo herself was put on high alert based on the fact that her face was now serious and lacked the carefreeness she had earlier on.
"What was that?" Sun was the first to speak. That howl was one of someone suffering and caught everyone, including Tamamo off guard.
"I… do not know." Tamamo admitted as she glanced everywhere. "QAI?"
[Error. Cause of that roar is unknown. Processing data… Master is inbound.]
"Unknown?" Torchwick raised an eyebrow. "You're kidding right?"
[Confirmed. This has never happened throughout the two million years of service of master.]
It was also during that time that Mercury finally woke up from his unconscious state. "Ugh… What happened?" He groaned as he shook his head.
"You pissed off Tamamo by calling her old, you idiot." Emerald snarked as Cinder just shook her head.
It was also during that time that RGQC appeared through the portal that appeared alongside a voluptuous young woman that looked a lot like Tamamo except she's wearing white suit jacket that is strategically a few sizes too small as well as a matching skirt that isn't, and a pink scarf on her neck.
"I see that you guys have just finished watching when it happened." RGQC walked forward as the individual that followed him glanced at Tamamo before her expression changed into one of disdain. Tamamo also did the same to her, yet it was filled more with annoyance than disdain.
"QAI, have you traced as to the source of that roar?" RGQC then looked up as QAI spoke.
[Affirmative. Origins point at the pained cry of Ursun, God of Bears and strength. And the patron god of Kislev. Further details indicate that the god bear took a bullet to the heart and was mortally wounded by a Kislevite prince who fell to Chaos.]
"Ursun? Kislevite prince falling to chaos and mortally wounding him? How did that happen? Those guys are known to be hardier to corrupt." RGQC looked surprised at what QAI had said.
[All records point to the manipulations of the Dark master. Be'lakor Master, I'm detecting that that roar could be heard in the other realm lords as well. Many of them are suffering Chaos incursions as that roar Ursun let out tore rifts in the fabric of reality and dimensions.]
"Is there anything we could do?" RGQC asked as everyone else paid attention to the conversation. Including Tamamo and Koyanskaya.
[Negative. We would be unable to do anything as of yet until further notice. I recommend we send assistance to the other realm lords. Several of them are dealing with much greater Daemonic attacks then previous past. There is also a plan being organised for a meeting to decide what to do with this anomaly between us and the other realm lords.]
"Send assistance you say? Very well then. Do it." RGQC then turned to everyone else. "As for the rest of you, I think we can stop for now. This unexpected event needs tending to. Tamamo." RGQC ordered.
"Yes, my master?" Tamamo took a step forward.
"Would you care to take them to the hot springs? Koyanskaya and I would need time to prepare for this unexpected meeting. Lily and Aries are already there."
"Of course, master." Tamamo gave a bow. "Can everyone follow me? I'll take you all to the hot springs." Tamamo walked off without hesitation for she doesn't want to be around Koyanskaya for anymore longer.
"Good. Koyanskaya. Follow me." RGQC then created a portal beside him.
"As you wish master~." Koyanskaya gave a grin as everyone left the theatre room.
GODS! What's wrong with me! 18k ish Fucking words! Why do I do this to myself!
Besides that, how ya think of this chapter so far? We now moved onto the beginning of Zeratul's prophecy mission and a new surprise for everyone at the end. For those who would no doubt be curious, Warhammer 3 will be out next week and I want to have some time to play it and such so probably me working on my other stories would be delayed or something. Gonna play Chaos Undivided and kill everyone!
Eheheh… AHAHAHHAHAH! Ah.
Don't mind that, it would also allow me to do some character development for some of our dear cast and the talks between them. Raven and Yang's talk is one such example. Another is between Blake and Ilia. So, I have intentions to make the next chapter an intermission/ Carbot special. I haven't forgotten about it yet.
And related the poll I made a while back. Rip. Only 5 people voted lmao. Never mind that, those five chose that I release my content as I do so yea. That's what I'll do.
Anyways, if you like my work and want to see more of it in the future, favourite and follow this work of mine. If you wish to say anything to me, good or bad. Leave a review. I will answer it if I feel it is relevant or I want to address it.
Other than that, I will see ya guys in the next chapter soon.
RGQC out!
