Hey guys! RGQC here again! First of all, sorry for making all of you wait for more content and it's been like months already? Gosh, I really need to work on the stories I currently have instead of getting distracted or something along those lines. Anyways, we now move on to Echoes of the Future!
But like with my other stories and a habit of mine, we have reviews to address first!
PGroudon: Yea, I watch giantgrantgames and I actually used his realistic campaign as reference when writing.
Jamieoeyes: Glad you enjoyed their reactions on the Hybrid. And yea, their reaction to Amon will be one of horror at the scale he takes to achieve his goals. As for Lily's Semblance. Yea it's based on both Aura Amp and Aura Syphon. However, her Semblance is unique. As if she uses too much of Second Wind, its effect will then switch and will begin to syphon and consume until a certain amount of time passes or enough aura has been drained. And yes, Alternative Jaune taught her when she discovered her semblance at the request of her parents.
Yolo27th: Yes. Marr is just a beefed-up Hybrid Destroyer. The Hybrid Reaver will show up later In Utter Darkness. And yes, when we get into more of these Hybrids, the horror will resume. Especially when they get to the Void Thrashers.
six samurai of dragon order: I'm happy that you don't mind me changing a bit of the story slightly to fit the narrative better. Because some scenes, while cool to play in, won't make much sense from a lore perspective.
Dakzillaman: Oh yea! Thanks for the compliment! Ah the Pygalisk and the Omegalisk. AKA, tiny ultra and gigachad ultra. Yea, they will see those variants once we get there. As for more minigames for the RWBY cast to interact and play with? Sure, in the next intermission or something along those lines.
FGOFanlover: Oh… It will be grand to see.
Guest: Yes true. But we're basing this one on Wings. Once we get to Legacy of the Void, they will learn that Ariel's theory on the artefact was wrong.
Sh4dowSt4lker: NO! Not the pear! Anything but the Pear!
Like before, I do not own RWBY or StarCraft. All of these belong to their respective owners: Rooster Teeth, StarCraft 2 belongs to Blizzard Entertainment. I only own my OC in this story.
Echos of the Future
Some time had passed ever since the previous vision of Zeratul and everyone returned to the theatre room withut Lily as QAI had fetched her for something. When the other's asked where they're taking Lily, all they got was that RGQC wishes to take her for a game. Whatever that means.
Inside the theatre, Tamamo could be seen sitting on RGQC's personal chair while reading a book. Her ears twitched as she faced everyone.
"Oh hello there! I see that you'll arrive. Excellent." She waved at everyone as the audience all came into the theatre room as she kept her book and stood up.
"Oh, hey Tamamo! Did RGQC ask you to take charge in watching over us again?" Ruby waved at her.
"Hai! Master will be busy with his game and wants me to handle you people again!" Tamamo explained.
"I see… Also, a game?" Ironwood raised his eyebrow as Tamamo just nodded.
"Heh. Guess even realm lords need entertainment." Qrow let out a small chuckle.
"I have to wonder, what kind of game did he bring Lily Belladonna into?" Ozpin wondered.
"Yes. It's been a while since he and QAI had a match." Tamamo took a pause as her ears twitched. "And yes, master did bring Lily along. He wanted her to join him in it."
"Ohh… so that's what QAI meant by taking her for a game. What are they playing anyways?" Neptune hummed before asking.
"I wanna know!" Nora suddenly shouts.
"Me too!" Ruby joined in as well as Summer just giggled.
"Well… it's one of his favourites and he had played it for a long time. Speaking of which." Tamamo then glanced at the screen as it lit up blue as a beep could be heard. It was then that RGQC's face could be seen and it was clear that he's no longer tainted by Chaos corruption. The overall background shows RGQC sitting on something while at the same time, pointing out that he's inside something.
"Ah, hey guys! I see that you all arrived to continue were you all left off. As you know, Tamamo will be handling all of you again as I'm in a game against QAI and teaching Lily how to play it."
Jaune was curious and so he asked. "Care to tell us what game you're playing RGQC?"
"It better be good to drag her away from my conversation with her. I wanted to know the details of the dress code I helped make!" Coco pointed.
That got a nod from the realm lord as he explained. "Sure. In short, the game is you in a giant mech called an Armoured Command Unit (or ACU for short.) and build an army with which you can command to conquer your enemies. Most of the time, I play assassination mode. The main objective of this game mode is to eliminate the opposing ACU. Pretty simple stuff."
"Also Lily's here. Say hi, Lily." RGQC then looked to his left as Lily's face also appeared beside RGQC's except was that the background of hers was greenish instead of the blue of RGQC. Also on Lily's face were brightly-coloured Markings that seemed to be on her cheeks. For even more humour, they look like cat whiskers on her face.
"Hey guys!" Lily waved at everyone as she continued. "I'm going to be frank right now; I have no idea what I'm doing. And I'm wearing a tight as hell suit." Lily admitted to not knowing what she's doing before grumbling. Her ears were also twitching as she voiced her annoyance.
This got a light chuckle from RGQC. "You're doing fine so far Lily, don't worry about it and the suit. QAI and I will teach you the basics through it before we officially begin. And besides, the facial markings you have on your face will help you control your ACU better."
Lily then glanced to the right at RGQC. "Right…"
"What's going on at your side Lily?" Blake then asked her daughter.
"It's uhh… complicated stuff. There's a lot of controls, buttons and holograms to manage. Yet it's simple to understand at the same time. Does that make any sense?" Lily asked as she only got either shrugs or people shaking their heads side to side.
This got an eye roll from Lily as she spoke. "Yea I have no idea what's going on. Also, RGQC literally dunked me in a massive pool of liquid metal. And the next thing I know was that I'm in the head of a giant mech I happen to be controlling." Lily could only deadpan while glaring at RGQC as some of the audience couldn't help but let out giggles or chuckles.
"You're in a giant mech?! That's so cool!" Yang enthusiastically says her thoughts out.
"Why don't I get a chance to play with the cool stuff?" Ruby added in with a pout.
"Don't worry about that dear, we just need to ask RGQC if you can play it."
"Did you seriously just do that RGQC?" Glynda just stared at the realm lord who shrugged in response as Sun added in with disapproval.
"Dude. Not cool."
"Lily, I literally gave you a helmet to wear so you would not drown in it and I told you to trust me on this matter." RGQC lets out a sigh alongside his head shaking. "Yet you wouldn't budge it and I got impatient, ok? So, forgive me for using telekinesis to pick you up and chuck you into it."
"Wow… despite everything, RGQC can sure act like a kid at times." Weiss muttered only for RGQC to raise an eyebrow at Weiss.
"I heard that Weiss." RGQC just shook his head as he coughed. "Besides that, Tamamo. Do what you did before and everything will be good."
"Of course, master! I won't disappoint you." Tamamo just bowed.
"Now then." RGQC turns his head to look at Lily. "We gate in 15 Lily, during that period of time, I'll explain all the rules as to how to play and control your ACU. As for the rest of you, enjoy the show! RGQC out." That was all he said as his face disappeared from the screen as Lily followed soon after.
…
"Well then, I believe we wasted enough time, let us begin."
"Yea! Let the show begin!" Nora cries out with enthusiasm as the theatre room darkens while the screen lights up with the aftermath of the previous mission.
The preservers were held prisoner by a protoss-Zerg hybrid of immense power. Once freed the preservers revealed that the secrets of the prophecy lie with the Overmind on Aiur.
"Yea, but now Zeratul needs to head to Aiur." Tai muttered.
"Which so happens to have the Overmind's corpse there." Qrow added into the conversation as the screen shows the current time.
Hyperion Cantina - 15:32 Shipboard Time
…
The screen lights up to show Raynor in the cantina having a drink as the jukebox could be heard playing Suspicious Minds in the background. As that was happening. Tychus was smiling as he chose to speak to his buddy Raynor.
"I don't think your buddy Horner likes me very much." Tychus pointed out as he chuckled. "I'll drink to that!"
However, Raynor did not respond to his buddy, he just nodded at him with a sigh.
"Yea… seeing that hybrid in the previous mission would make anyone scared." Mercury muttered as several nods came his way.
"Yup. I never want to see something that ugly and terrifying again." Emerald adds in.
It was then that the TV began playing. But instead of getting some news, what everyone got was an advertisement from an incredibly energetic announcer.
"Level 800 Elite Tauren Chieftain is back with a new album! Pulse pounding rock that will shake the galaxy! Rock out with such hits as: Rogues Do It from Behind! Terran Up the Night! Another Hydralisk Bites the Dust! Saturday Night's Alright for Nuking! Lucy in the Sky with Mutas! Every Rose has its Thor!"
At the same time, various albums that were played by Level 800 Elite Tauren Chieftain could be seen scrolling on the screen. But the author is too lazy and doesn't want to waste your time with listing every single one of their albums.
"Touring in your galaxy now!" That was followed by an explosion and someone in the background yelling "Rock 'n' Roll!"
As for our audience, they were genuinely surprised that they got an advertisement instead for some rock band. But several of them were interested.
"I have to admit, I'm curious and I want to try some of their albums out." Yang thoughtfully admitted as several others joined in.
"Yea! You can count us in!" Sun announced as his team agreed with their leader.
"If you're interested, master does have an entire room that has all sorts of musical instruments as well as albums and soundtracks for you to hangout and listen to. I do sometimes spend my time there." Tamamo explained with a smile on her face.
"Don't mind if I ask Tamamo," Penny suddenly spoke up as Tamamo nodded at the android. "Where is QAI?"
"Ah QAI is still here, however it looks like QAI is multitasking by playing the video as well as fighting both Master and Lily-San."
"Wait what?" Jaune raised an eyebrow. "He's here and fighting RGQC and Lily in a game?"
"Yes. But most of the time, you won't hear him speaking unless it's important." Tamamo just closed her eyes with a smile on her face as the screen resumed.
Raynor could only stare at his drink before looking up to see Tosh gazing at him before with his hand. Tosh signalled him to come up for a chat. Not willing to be rude or anything. Raynor got off his chair and walked towards him.
"Looks like Tosh wishes to speak to him again. Let me guess, he sees what Raynor saw in the previous view." Tai mumbled.
"At this point it's expected of him. I would be concerned if he did not do that." Summer admitted.
As soon as Raynor reached Tosh, he observed the state Raynor was in as he spoke. "You look spooked. You've been seein' what the protoss has to show you. The memories shine through you as clear as day."
"I saw…" Raynor glanced to the side, clearly unsure how to describe what he witnessed in Zeratul's crystal "a hybrid. Something unnatural. It was trying to corrupt the protoss preservers. Who would have sent it there? Who controls something like that?" Raynor could only wonder.
"That's the big question right now. Who made these things…" Robyn muttered as everyone could agree whole-heartly. Those hybrids are big trouble for everyone, even more so as to who made those abominations.
"The one that made them, for sure. That was just the first of many. Dark harbingers, man. Soon they'll be beyond numbering - an' the stars will weep at what comes after."
"Interesting choice of words from him. But I understand what he meant." Ozpin hummed as everyone looked at him to continue. And he obliged. "What Tosh is saying here is that the presence of Maar on Zhakul was the start. Soon we will see more of those hybrids in the future."
This just got nods from everyone. If what Tosh says is true, then the galaxy will be seeing more of these abominations in the future. And all of them could only shudder.
"How could you know all this?" Raynor could only question Tosh who responds back.
"I don't. I just feel it be true."
"He's relying on gut feeling?" Penny looked confused as Qrow spoke out.
"Yea, sometimes you just have to trust your instincts on certain issues kiddo. Not all problems can be solved practically." Qrow explained.
"I… think I understand what you meant, Huntsman Qrow. Thank you for your advice!"
"Yea… Sure."
Raynor just silently nodded as he walked down the stairs and out of the cantina as the screen darkens. Right before it lights up again to show Raynor having a chat with Swann in the armoury who points it out.
"What's up, cowboy? Y'know you're lookin' kinda rough lately - rougher than usual, I mean." Swann asked as the screen then shifted to Raynor who wasn't sure how to answer back.
"I've...ah...got a lot goin' on the right now, Swann. You know how it is."
Swann just looked unconvinced by Raynor's answer, but nevertheless, he offered advice. "Yeah, sure. Y'know you might wanna try laying off the sauce and getting some shuteye once in a while, eh?"
"True, getting some rest will help him absorb all the contents he'd just witnessed so far." Kali smiled at the times when she caught Blake sleeping in their library when she was just a little kitten back in Menagerie.
"True." That was all Ghira said.
"Thanks, mom. I'll get right on that." Raynor could only respond back with a hint of sarcasm as Swann just chuckles as he watched as Raynor left the armoury.
"Yeah sure thing cowboy." Swann muttered to himself as he then turned his attention back to whatever he was doing half way as the screen darkens. It then lights up to show Raynor walking into the Bridge as Matt greets him.
"I wonder what Matt's thoughts on the issue." Ruby wondered as she took a bite out of her cookie.
"Welcome back, sir. What did you discover from the crystal this time?" Matt asked as Raynor raised an eyebrow.
"It's that obvious I used it, huh?" Raynor took a short pause to gather his thoughts before speaking again. "Zeratul took the prophecy fragments he found to a... temple? Library? Kinda both, I guess. But this weird protoss-Zerg hybrid had taken over the place."
Unsure as to what his commander meant; Matt spoke out his thoughts. "You mean some sort of infested protoss?"
"Is it though?" Neo questioned as Torchwick shocked his head.
"I don't think that thing we just saw recently was an infested Protoss…"
[No. The Hybrids are not infested Protoss.] QAI could then be heard as Tamamo greeted.
"Ah QAI, I assume the match has just started between you against master and Lily?"
[Affirmative. Lily Belladonna proved to be a fast learner and I have re-evaluated the situation, and my victory is still the most probable outcome. Master will not win this match.]
This got a chuckle from Tamamo as everyone just looked unsure of the situation.
"So, what QAI is saying is that RGQC and Lily are going to get their butts whooped?" Yang comes to the conclusion as Glynda glares at Yang.
"Language Miss Xiao Long."
"Perhaps. Both Master and QAI love to take their games way too seriously sometimes. But I can't blame them. With Lily in the mix, this would make that match interesting…" Tamamo had a smile on her face as the screen continued.
"No, this wasn't like infestation at all. It was like someone took the strengths of both races and twisted them together. I gotta tell you - if these things are real, we're in a lot of trouble." Raynor came to a conclusion as Matt agreed with him.
"I agree with you sir." Raynor then leaves the bridge as Matt turns his head back on the main console as the screen darkens once again.
"Seeing Maar in action after the previous meeting. I'm inclined to believe Raynor that things will go horribly bad if the Hybrid actually exists." Ren muttered as Nora interjects.
"Never fear Renny! Raynor will blow them all up!"
The screen lights up to show Raynor staring at the Ihan crystal as Ariel could be heard in the background, clearly worried about Raynor's mental stability after relieving Zeratul's memories.
"Be careful Jim. I think you're losing yourself in that crystal." Yet, she got no replies from him as the screen pans towards the Protoss tank, and within it, the golden crystal has clearly grown from before. Now the crystals could be seen getting closer to the black sphere itself.
"Looks like the crystals grew even more than last time. It's now even closer to the black sphere itself.!" Yang pointed out as everyone turned their eyes to Pietro who already had the tablet out and began reading it.
"Hmm… interesting. Stetmann no longer believes that the crystal is drawing power from the ship. But instead, it's getting pure energy from that sphere above it, which presents a new worry to him. Stetmann could only wonder what it was doing with all of that power it was generating. Part of him fears that it might explode."
"Oh. Well, that doesn't sound good." Ruby pointed out as everyone nodded.
"All that energy it is generating comes from that sphere? That still doesn't explain where it came from though… Yet I understand his concern over it releasing all that energy in an explosion." Ironwood was intrigued by it yet confused as to how it works out. Everyone else could only nod their heads in agreement.
Penny then leaned in next to her father and began to read the next part. "Stetmann had also tried scraping smaller samples from the crystal; however, it broke all his tools. Luckily, he found some cast-off chips floating in the tank. Further details show that the crystal chips revealed more of the matrix. And it's keeping all the energy in a vortex somehow. Further analysis reveals that the matrix is as solid as the strongest structure and Stetmann believes that he could apply these dynamics to their own structures."
"Wait. The crystals in the tank are tough enough to break all his tools? I'm no expert but their tools would definitely be more advanced than ours. And all of it broke trying to take samples?" Emerald asked curiously as Penny just nodded.
"Yes, friend Emerald! That appears to be the case."
"I don't remember calling you friend but ok…" Emerald just mumbled to herself.
The screen then pans away from the Protoss containment tank and back to Raynor as Tamamo could be heard reading from her tablet out loud.
"Before we resume, here's the preamble on Aiur. As you already know, Aiur is the homeworld of the Protoss, a jungle planet with multiple oceans, gleaming cities, and ancient temples. The arrival of the Zerg changed everything. Now Aiur's primaeval jungles are littered with ash, broken war machines, and the remains of the dead."
…
"Well… Thanks for the preamble on Aiur?" Sun was unsure how to respond as Zeratul's voice could be heard once again in everyone's head.
"I returned to our ruined homeworld of Aiur. The Zerg infestation still covered much of our beloved world... The desiccated remains of the Overmind were still there - a grim reminder of battles lost... and battles won." Zeratul explained as the screen panned towards Raynor.
"I remember the fall of Aiur. Don't much like the idea of havin' to see it all again. Guess there's nothin' for it." The crystal responds back as it begins to glow with a hollowing sound as the screen changes to show Zeratul's green eyes once again.
"He must have many painful memories of his time on Aiur." Ozpin looked downwards for a second or two before looking at the screen again.
"At the very apex of its victory against us, the Zerg Overmind grew..." Zeratul began to explain as it showed a massive Zerg structure with a single eye looking everywhere. "Overconfident." The screen began shaking before flashing white.
As for everyone, all of them could only be at awe with terror at how utterly massive the Overmind was. Just how big is it?
"What in the…?" Cinder could only mutter in shock, the Overmind itself is clearly larger than any of the kingdoms by a margin! That same feeling was shared by everyone as their eyes were all wide as plates. How could they not? That thing's massive!
Zeratul continued explaining as the screen showed what's left of the Overmind. A massive rotting corpse. Overlords all floating over what's left of their now rotting master. "Now, all that was left of the mighty Overmind was a twisted, withered husk."
"It's a lot to take in. I mean, just how big must it be even when it's dead?" Weiss wondered as Tamamo hummed.
"The Overmind is quite literally the living will of the Zerg. And when it was still alive, it's an utterly massive mess of tentacles, chitin plating and pulsing flesh. So yes, the Overmind is the living embodiment of the Zerg as a whole." Tamamo explained as everyone could only nod slowly.
"I needed to understand whatever memories lingered within the creature's rotting mass." Zeratul explained as the screen panned slowly to one of its gargantuan tendrils the size bigger than a house in size.
Wow… Those tendrils are bigger than a house…" Tai muttered in shock at how large it was.
"Yea. Way bigger than your house." Raven just nods.
"Only by making contact with the gargantuan tendrils connected directly to its cortex could I learn its secrets." Zeratul continues on as numerous Zerg could be seen burrowing into the ground near the Overmind's tendrils on screen.
"Yet its countless minions, which seemed to be feeding from its dead husk, would prove somewhat... problematic." As Zeratul finished with his explanation, three Ultralisk could be seen walking towards the tendrils before burrowing into the ground as the screen darkens.
"Ewww! They're actually eating it?" Ruby gagged in disgust as did several of the younger generation about the idea of the Zerg cannibalising on each other. The adults were more subtle on the matter but were also clearly disgusted by it. Even more so that the Overmind had been dead for years at this point.
"Ugh... I think I'm actually going to be sick thinking about it." Jaune muttered as Pyrrha did her best to assure him.
"Ditto…" both Neo and Torchwick muttered in agreement.
As for Tamamo, she looks busy tapping on her tablet before raising an eyebrow which everyone noticed.
"Is there something wrong on your tablet Tamamo?" Summer asked as she shook her head.
"Not actually, I'm just reviewing master's gameplay and… things got interesting. Lily has proven herself well for her first game. Makes me curious to see how it ends." Tamamo just lets out a smile.
The screen lights up to show the Void Seeker flying close before Zeratul could be seen blinking out of it and onto solid ground as that was going on, the Void Seeker began to fly off into the distance.
"Huh, looks like this requires Zeratul on the mission." Coco hummed.
"I mean, that's not the problem, right? He did all sorts of cool moves when we first saw him in action. I really want to see more!" Ruby smiled as others just nodded.
"Yea! He's cool!" Nora raises her hand up before she begins playing with her pet probe. Who beeps happily in response.
As he stood up and cloaked, Zeratul began to speak. "I must find a way to establish a foothold and summon reinforcements to keep the Zerg at bay!" Zeratul began running off before coming across some Zerglings which he easily dispatched with a single slash.
Zeratul then looked into the skies as the screen pans towards a cloaked observation drone watching everything from below. It has a singular eye that can be seen moving around and watching everything from above. Its fins on its back were opened like flower petals.
Interestingly enough, when Zeratul spotted the Observer in the sky, numerous burrowed Zerglings could now be seen by everyone as Zeratul spoke. "Ah, this faithful Observer has kept watch since the evacuation. Its abilities will certainly prove useful now." He says it before he begins sending his strikes into the ground itself and killing Zerglings beneath it.
"Observer? What is it?" Winter curiously asked as Tamamo nodded.
"The Observer is the Protoss tactical reconnaissance drone that acts as both a spy and an escort, and provides detection for fellow Protoss to see either cloaked units or burrowed Zerg. Of course, they lack any sense of armour and would be destroyed rather quickly if they are spotted. Though they are fast and evasive at times."
"Heh, eyes in the skies huh?" Tai joked as that got a groan from everyone except Yang.
"Besides that horrible joke from Tai, I can see the advantages of having these observers act as your eyes on the battlefield." Raven explained as everyone nodded.
As Zeratul began clearing a path onwards, the Observer in the skies folded up its fins and began 'swimming' in the air while revealing many other Zerglings burrowed within the ground. This went on for quite a while as Zeratul butchered every single Zerg in his path until he stumbled up several abandoned Protoss structures.
"Some of these abandoned structures remain functional... we shall make use of them." He muttered as he walked towards the abandoned Nexus and extended his hand out.
"What is he doing?" Neo questioned.
"Just watch. You are all about to see something awesome." That was all Tamamo said as Zeratul continued talking.
"This ancient beacon still thrums with power. I wonder…" he muttered as the entire Nexus reactivated and glowed with power once again. But that wasn't the only thing reawakening. A sudden rumble could be felt as Zeratul turns his head to the nearby sea as the screen pans towards it. And what came out of it was a familiar sight for all of the audience. Two Colossi could be emerging from beneath the waves and stomped their way towards Zeratul's recently reclaimed base.
"Oh so we get to see those bad boys in action and not against us? Count us in!" Sun was grinning as if he had gotten himself a new toy. That same feeling was in everyone else.
As for Zeratul, he was in awe of them. "Ah! I've heard tales of the mighty Colossi sealed away beneath Aiur! The beacon must have awoken these fearsome guardians!" He said as the Colossus began scaling up one of the nearby cliffs before letting loose their thermal lancers on one poor Zergling that happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The screen then cuts off to one of the Overmind's rotting tendrils as numerous Hydralisk and Zerglings could be seen gathering near it, with a couple of them burrowing into the ground. At the same time, Zeratul spoke with alarm. "The Zerg perceive a threat to their dead master!"
"Looks like they noticed Zeratul's presence." Neptune observed.
"That or the two massive Colossus that so happened to emerge from the sea." Sun snarkily pointed out as Neptune just shook his head.
"Those Zerg won't make it an easy mission for Zeratul." Penny made an observation.
"When is it ever?" Torchwick sarcastically pointed it out.
The screen then pends back to show the Colossi on the move before it releases its thermal lancers quite a distance away with the Observer helping out by spying the region. Much to everyone's awe, those two Colossus single handily cleaned up an expansion area as multiple pylons could be seen warping in by a probe.
"Man, those Colossus are dangerous, it's a miracle that Raynor didn't get absolutely smashed when they showed up a couple of views ago." Yang mumbled.
"Yang, Raynor had a massive laser drill in that mission." Weiss pointed out.
"Yea, but in that mission, those Tal'darim guys brought in their star ships. If Raynor didn't have that drill and just a couple of missile turrets?"
"Oh…"
'Yea… That won't be pretty."
As all that was going on, Zeratul appeared on screen. "If we use our Observers wisely, we can scout the area before putting ourselves at risk."
"True, having accurate intel would be vital to know what he's getting into." Ilia muttered to herself. Having good intel was what allowed the Fang to perform their missions. Though, Ilia was starting to doubt the cause after her chat with Blake and her alternative daughter a while back.
The clearing of the expansion continued on as the Colossi continued to eviscerate every single trace of Zerg that were within sight. Zeratul could also be seen assisting by slaying Zerglings and Hydralisk present there. Though the shaking of the ground proves of concern as Zeratul knows what's going to happen.
"We must be prepared to defend our base. The Zerg are on the move." As soon as she said that, the Colossi began moving back while making beeping noises as a horde of Zerglings could be seen rushing towards Zeratul's base. As soon as the Colossus got into position, they began cutting a fiery swathe of destruction through multiple Zerglings with each firing cycle.
Every attack from one Colossus took out ten or more Zerglings with such precision accuracy that only one made it to Zeratul's base. Only to die from a photon cannon that was recently reactivated from a new warped in pylon.
"It seems that the colossus was built to be an infantry killer in design." Pietro made his observation as Penny joined in.
"That's true father! With what I can tell, the Colossi was built with the intention of being a war machine! Further analysis proves that some of the other Protoss units were actually originally designed for industrial and/or resource gathering purposes."
Tamamo offered a smile as he spoke up to give in on more information. "Correct Penny-San. The Protoss during the time of the Conclave came across another species far outside the Koprulu Sector and established a plasma shielded research observatory within the area. They are called the kalathi. Long story short, the kalathi suffered a civil war and a Protoss scientist called Juras, advised the local executor, who are high ranking Protoss, to stop the local fighting by scaring the natives with superior protoss technology." Tamamo took a breath as she continued on.
"It did not go well as the kalathi simply turned on the Protoss, and attempted to kill the researchers. This escalated into a general war and this was when the Colossus were first brought into action in self-defence, as the kalathi attacked protoss at every opportunity they got. In the end, hundreds of thousands of kalathi lay dead and their civilization had been reduced to the Stone Age." This understandably horrified everyone that the Colossus were responsible for the death of the kalathi civilization.
"The results of what had occurred had shocked the Protoss, and in the aftermath, they banned the construction or operation of colossi. And it was because of this war that it became a historical shame for intervening in another species' civil war. That it was now forbidden for all Protoss to ever again directly interfere in the affairs of "lesser races.""
"Lesser races?" Cinder raised an eyebrow and was offended at what that meant.
"Basically, everyone that they consider a young species. Yours included." Tamamo admitted.
"Well… they aren't wrong, we still have a long way to grow."
"That and we can't go into space."
"Yup…"
As soon as the Zerg wave was literally disintegrated, the Colossi moved back and began clearing out the expansion again as Zeratul spotted an abandoned warp gate in the distance.
"These warp gates appear to be functional. Perhaps there's a chance…" He muttered to himself as what remains of the Zerg infestation at the expansion was cleared. Also, one of the Overmind's gargantuan tendrils happens to be nearby. A probe could be seen approaching the expansion as it dropped a beacon to warp in several pylons and a nexus. It also could be seen dropping a pylon near an obelisk.
"Huh, never seen that structure before… Looks weird." Nora muttered out.
"That is an Obelisk. They are protoss structures capable of housing ancient knowledge and several of them were abandoned on Aiur after its fall." Tamamo explained as she gazed upon her tablet only to face palm.
"Is there something wrong Tamamo?" Ozpin asked as she shook her head in amusement on her face.
"No, it's just that Master and QAI are now having a fight right now and it was a tie of them throwing mechs at each other with Lily all confused in the middle. And she was nearly sniped by QAI."
"Sniped?" Everyone could only wonder what Tamamo meant.
"Ten of so Strategic bombers were aimed for her face. If it wasn't for Master, she would be out of the game in a fiery explosion."
"What do you mean by a fiery explosion?" Blake raised an eyebrow.
"Well… and an ACU is destroyed, it lets out a massive explosion." Everyone's eyes widened.
"Wait what?!"
Tamamo raised her arm up with her hand open. "But do not fret, Lily and master will be teleported to safety should it happen. Master will never put anyone into actual harm in his games." Tamamo reassured them all as she let out a hum.
"Besides that, let us resume."
As all that was happening, several stalkers arrived and began firing at the overlords still lingering in the air over the expansion. As Zeratul walked forward and interacted with the first tendril with his hand stretched out.
"The first Overmind tendril!" He says out loud.
Zeratul then closed his eyes for a second or two as he began muttering out what he sensed. "I sense... pain. Surprise. Death."
"Pain, surprise and death?" Ren raised an eyebrow in confusion as Ozpin narrowed his eyes as he tried to decipher what Zeratul had just said.
"I believe what that was referring to when the Overmind died to Tassadar back in the story so far we watched a while back."
"In short, the Overmind felt pain, was then surprised at what Tassadar was doing and died?" Ruby tilted her head as she tried to piece it all together.
"Maybe?" Weiss added in as the screen continued on.
As soon as Zeratul was done interacting with the first Overmind tendril, it suddenly snaps off and falls into the abyss below. Zeratul could only turn around to see the pylon finishing warping in as it reactivated both the Obelisk and warp gate. It was then a high templar as well as three stalkers could be seen warping into the battlefield.
"Adun Toridas, Zeratul! We were trapped within the gate's energy matrix when it was deactivated! You have our thanks!" The high templar greeted and thanked Zeratul who nodded before speaking at the recently freed protoss.
"They have been stuck in the energy matrix for how long?" Torchwick questioned as Tamamo answered him.
"Years, Torchwick. And it's not pretty for them."
"Sheesh." That's all he could say as the screen continues.
"The pleasure is mine, noble warrior. We could use your help." As that was going on, the ground beneath their feet suddenly shuddered as he knew what's going on.
"Oh no, wormies are here now. KILL THEM ALL!"Nora proceeds to yell out while having pancakes in her mouth rather viciously as Probius let out a hostile beeping. As if he's agreeing with Nora.
"Nora, do not talk with your mouth full. Or else you might choke." Ren proceeds to lecture his partner.
"The Zerg plan to attack our nexus point with Nydus worms!"
"Then let them come." That was all the high templar said as all of them gathered back at the Nexus point which had grown. Now there were multiple warp gates present as well as the robotics bay warping in immortals. Also, the Colossi had also returned and were waiting for the worms to show up.
And show up they did.
Multiple worms burst out of the grounds a distance away from the nexus point before unloading all sorts of Zerg were inside it. The Protoss, seeing the Zerg charging at them, counter charged as Zeratul could be seen trapping one of the worms in stasis as colossi got to work and eviscerating all sorts of Zerg per attack.
The high templar rescued earlier, unleashed a psionic storm over the attackers which fried every single Zergling as stalkers blink in to wipe out the stragglers. The battle lasted for over a minute as both worms were quickly dispatched. Before all of them began pushing north with Zeratul taking the lead.
"Well. That battle was fast." Sun points out.
"Well yea, we are literally watching a highly advanced alien species unleashing hell. Heck, we say then dealing with waves that would have overrun a Terran base." Neptune agreed before explaining. Sun however just mutters to himself.
"Nerd."
"Brothers, we push north to the next tendril." Zeratul ordered his warriors as they all pushed north and through a Zerg wave consisted of Roaches and Hydralisk. Like the rest of these Zerg filth, they were wiped with speed and brutality as Zealots could be seen plunging their Psi-blade into the Roaches' faces or them slicing the Hydralisk's claws and faces off. Immortals could be seen punching chunks out of Roaches as they screech in pain as the colossi just roast them all.
They soon came across the second obelisk, a warp gate, and a robotics bay. All three of them unpowered and ready to be reclaimed, but it wasn't all that simple. Broodlords could be seen in the far distance launching Broodlings that slammed face first into the Colossus shields.
"Oh, those Broodlords are here now." Kali points it out as Ghira just grunted. When suddenly, a note appeared on Kali's hand. Kali began to read it before tilting the note so that her dear husband could read it as well. A mischievous smile then appeared on Kali's face as it faded from her hand. This is going to get interesting at the end of this viewing.
"Broods lords above brothers. Stalkers take them out before they overwhelm us!"
"As you command." The stalkers obeyed Zeratul's command as they blinked into the high ground, the colossi also just let out a beep as they just scaled onto the high ground and began roasting more Zerg that were visible to their sights.
As for the rest, Zealots and Immortals began pushing the ground as Zeratul could be seen blinking onto the high ground where all his Stalkers were before channelling a psionic bolt into his hand, he then unleashed it onto one of the Broodlords and trapped it in a Void Prison.
The Zeratul's army quickly poured into the Zerg hive cluster and slaughtered Zerg after Zerg that got in their way with no issue. They even pushed in further and took out a hatchery that was occupying a mineral field. But they soon had to retreat as the ground began to shake once again.
"Guess another wave of Nydus worms are about to show up." Blake mumbled.
"I'm starting to see a pattern here." Jaune nods his head. "Once in a while they can push forward and towards the tendrils, before pulling back once and a while to deal with their attack wave."
"That sounds about right. Though I believe the longer he took, the more Zerg will attack him." Pyrrha nodded as well with a finger on her chin.
"The Zerg seek to overwhelm us! To arms, my brethren!" Zeratul ordered his warriors as more Nydus worms could be seen erupting from the ground itself before releasing their cargo of more Zerglings, Roaches, and Hydralisk. To say the least, they didn't stand a chance as the worms were focused first as photon cannons could be seen laying down the fire. More Protoss warriors also could be seen warping into the battle.
"Wow… Talk about a cake walk. How did they lose their home world again?" Torchwick pointed out as everyone wondered the same. Despite the question coming out of a criminal. So, all of them turned to Tamamo for answers.
"Ahh… That was because in 2500, the Zerg launched a full-scale invasion of Aiur with everything they had, combined with incompetent leadership of the Conclave. The protoss defenders were overrun and countless Zerg carved swaths of destruction across Aiur's continents. Even after the Overmind was slain and the Zerg driven feral, nearly seventy percent of the population were killed that day. And many more when they tried to evacuate back to Shakuras with the last functional warp gate." Tamamo looked clearly saddened at the tragedy the Protoss species went through.
"Even then. Hundreds of thousands of protoss died during the evacuation and some of them were stranded on Aiur. Ever since that day, Aiur belonged to the Zerg." Tamamo's ears sank as the overall mood went down.
"But let us resume. All tragedy will eventually be washed away with time. Even with what the Protoss went through. They will find a way home." A small smile appeared on Tamamo's face as the overall mood rose.
The overall fight also lasted about a minute as they all returned north and resumed pushing into the Zerg base and towards the next Overmind Tendril. And it was swiftly shown as Zeratul's warriors pushed as one and wiped out Zerg after Zerg. Zeratul could also be seen in the action, slicing through anything his warp blades could reach while also trapping any potential hazards in a void prison.
As Zeratul's forces continued to clear a path of the Zerg hive cluster, he split from the rest of his warrior and walked towards the second tendril. Like what he did the first time, Zeratul stretched out hand while also closing his eyes.
"The second Overmind tendril. I sense... death... and joy?" Zeratul sounded confused as his eyes opened. Only to quickly narrow down. Everyone else watching was also confused.
Joy? What joy can be had from death?
"It's… happy about its own death?" Coco voiced out as she glanced at everyone else who were also confused.
"I… I think there's more to it." Velvet came to a conclusion as everyone could only nod in agreement.
"Yes… There has to be a reason as to why the Overmind was happy about its death." Glynda wondered.
Like the first Overmind tendril, the second tendril then snaps off and falls into the abyss below as Zeratul looks back at his warriors and heads back to their nexus point. For another wave of Zerg will attack their base soon. Like before, Nydus worms emerge from the ground to attack Zeratul's base only to be repelled with brutal efficiency now that Zeratul had successfully warped in another colossus and more immortals and stalkers.
That let Tamamo to let out a chuckle at the whole thing. Of course, that didn't go unnoticed as Ozpin asked.
"Is something funny you wish to share, Tamamo?"
"Ah, I guess I should explain it to you." Tamamo just cheerfully smiled as her head shook as well. "It's a joke that master have related to when the Protoss have built up a massive army. And he will call it a Protoss death ball, as they would wipe out anything that got in the way."
"Seeing how fast they wiped out the Zerg attackers, I get it." Yang just nodded her head.
"Yup." Ruby and others agreed with Yang.
With the attack wave repelled Zeratul ordered his warriors to push east towards the third Overmind tendril. However, as the camera pans towards it. The sight of the several Terran buildings covered in Zerg bio matter brought up bad memories for everyone. In fact, everyone could only shudder in disgust and horror overseeing the Zerg Virus at work again.
"Oh, not again with the infested..." Sun could only groan as he looked away from the sight of infested Terran buildings.
"Yea… Just why are they there?" Ilia muttered in agreement with her fellow Faunus.
"Back during the invasion of Aiur, the Protoss needed all the help they could get at repelling to the Zerg and it was then that Raynor was called in to assist. Which he obliged and assisted in defending their homeworld. Of course, they were still forced to retreat even though the Overmind was slain." Tamamo casually explained it rather cheerfully as the screen continued.
Zeratul and his warriors pushed through the infested base as numinous infested suddenly erupted from the ground and began shambling towards the invading Protoss. There were also many infested marines among them as they began firing their Gauss Rifles at the oncoming Zealots. Only for it to bounce off their shield before they too were put out of their misery.
Infestors were also seen among them shooting out man sized eggs that hatched into more infested marines. Much to the audience's horror.
"By the Gods. Those infestors have infested within themselves?!" Winter lost her composure as just nodded.
"Mikoon. Infestors are known to ingest infested marines to use as terror weapons on the battlefield and carried them into the combat zone. The marines are stored in thick flesh cavities until the Infestor regurgitates them to face their former compatriots, or anything else that might pose a threat to the Swarm. In this case Zeratul's warriors."
"Ugh… talk about new nightmare fuel…"
How are you so calm about this?" Ironwood asked as Tamamo just nodded.
"I've seen much more horrifying things during my time with master. Many other things that would drive a normal person mad." Tamamo just waved it off as she then summoned a cone of ice-cream to munch on.
Colossi were busy making waves as numerous infested were rendered into ash as they unleashed their lances. That and there many destroyed Terran buildings could be seen among the place with Zerg biomatter covering it all. It wasn't that smooth as a numinous Ultralisk could be seen roaring in the distance before charging in.
"Big ultra-buggies are here! Blast em!" Nora shouts out as giggles could be heard.
"Ultra-buggies?"
Seeing the Ultralisk coming for them, Zeratul blinked forward and trapped one of them in a Void Prison as he yelled out. "Brothers! Focus your wrath on the Ultralisk!"
"For Aiur!" Numerous Protoss warriors cried out with determination as all of them unleashed hell on the Ultralisk coming for them. Stalkers unleashing their Particle disruptors that pierce the Ultralisk's thick hide while Immortals could be seen punching chunks in every shot.
The overwhelming fire from every single Protoss warrior proves too much for the three Ultralisk as they all collapsed covered in plasma holes or missing their heads entirely. As they pushed onwards, Zeratul moved away and walked towards the third Overmind tendril.
"What do you think we will learn from the third tendril guys?" Ruby asked her friend as Blake spoke up.
"It would definitely be related to it being happy about its own death."
"Whatever it is ladies, we will have our answer, yes?" Yang just shook her head side by side.
Everyone could only watch as Zeratul began to interact with the third tendril. "The third Overmind tendril. I sense... satisfaction... in a plan set in motion long ago... and... fear of the future?" Zeratul sounded even more confused at what he had learned so far.
"A plan set in motion?" Qrow raised an eyebrow.
"Fear of the future?" Robyn also muttered out in confusion.
"All this nonsense is giving me a headache." Torchwick mumbled to himself.
That same feeling was being felt by everyone. Yes, that includes Cinder. The Overmind is satisfied that its plan is in motion and it is afraid of the future? In what way? Whatever it was, hopefully the last tendril will provide all the answers they seek.
"Brothers. There is still one more tendril left. We must reach it before the Zerg descends on our nexus point." Zeratul explains as the third tendril snaps off and falls into the abyss. At the same time, reinforcements had just arrived in the form of more stalkers and immortals as well as more Zealots and an additional Colossus.
As Zeratul's forces continued to push towards the last Overmind tendril, even more Ultralisk erupted from the ground in an attempt to ambush, but they were quickly dispatched as soon as they unborrowed themselves. It's comical for the audience to see them erupt from the ground itself only to die instantly when they ate so many plasma rounds to the face.
However, the last Overmind tendril was guarded more heavily than before. A clear sign that the brood was aware of what Zeratul was trying to do. Overseers could be seen all over the place as well as Spine and Spore crawlers. Brood lords could be seen watching the skies as even more Ultralisk could be seen bursting from the ground in response.
"Is it me or are these feral Zerg uncannily intelligent, they seemed to be able to set up ambushes and as far as we can tell, they would spawn in reinforcements in response to intruders." Pietro observed as Tamamo just nodded.
"You are correct Pietro!" Tamamo just confirmed as she continued. "It should be known that all feral Zerg on Aiur are part of a brood. In this case, they are called Aiur brood for simplicity's sake. While mostly listless, and do not have significant numbers, Aiur brood has proven to be one of the more intelligent feral Zerg broods."
"That's bad."
"True. But intelligent feral Zerg broods are quite rare. Most of the time, they operate independently of one another without higher organisation, and work on a more basic, animalistic intelligence." That was all Tamamo said as everyone turned their eyes back on the screen.
The fight began and it was brutal to see. Zerg and Protoss blood were spilled as both sides took casualties thanks to the presence of multiple Broodlords far behind the back line sending waves upon waves of Broodlings against Zeratul's warriors. Stalkers could be seen in the back line firing upon the tide of Zerg blocking their path as Immortals could be seen punching holes into everything they shoot at.
Colossi were unleashing their lances upon any Zerg they could see as scourges could be seen slamming into them. It was a slaughter fest as the feral Zerg were slowly being overwhelmed by superior fire from Zeratul's warriors but the casualties inflicted were immense. Many Zealots were slain holding the line as well as Stalkers, immortals and even a Colossus was felled from the endless assault.
But in the end, the battle ended soon after with the Protoss forces pushing deep into the last hive cluster guarding the last Overmind tendril.
"Well, that was brutal…" Neo muttered as everyone else could only agree.
"Yea… I think we got used to it." Torchwick agreed.
"I suppose that's to be expected in what we're watching." Tai glanced at his daughters who were clearly uneasy from the slaughter that happened but they were not freaking out. If he gets a chance, he's going to teach that realm lord a lesson for ruining his daughter's innocence. Well… if he could
With the remaining feral Zerg being cleansed by his warriors, Zeratul walked towards the fourth tendril and began interacting with it. And like before, he closed his eyes with a hand extended. "The fourth Overmind tendril. I sense... an end. I must go to the Overmind Cortex to understand."
"An end?" Those were everyone's thoughts.
The fourth Overmind tendril snapped off as Zeratul opened his eyes only to see a fellow ghostly Protoss floating over the Overmind's rotting corpse. He only widened in shock as he recognized him. But that should be impossible! He died!
"Ah! It's a ghost!" Sun yelled out jokingly as Neptune gave his partner a deadpanned look.
"Really?" But it was still on everyone's mind. Who was this ghost protoss that was floating over the Overmind's corpse?
"Greetings, brother. I speak to you... from the Beyond." The ghostly Protoss begins speaking as Zeratul responds in disbelief.
"Tassadar! But... you died... slaying this cursed Overmind!"
"Oh… it's Tassadar! He's now a ghost now, isn't he?" Penny could only point out.
"Yes… Penny. Yes, he is." Ruby could only answer her friend as Tassadar spoke.
"I have never tasted death, Zeratul – nor shall I. But that is a tale for another time. I have come to tell you of this creature's... courage." Tassadar began to explain as the screen changed to show the Overmind when it was still alive.
"COURAGE?!" Everyone could only yell out in shock.
"What courage is there in wiping out 70% of all Protoss life on Aiur! What courage is there in murdering millions of lives?!" Ironwood lost his composure and began pointing it out. Much to Ozpin's surprise, he always knew that Ironwood was bull-headed at times, but to see him lash out like this was pretty much unheard of but justified.
"He has to be kidding. Please tell me he's kidding." Qrow muttered in disbelief as Raven joined in.
"As much as I want to disagree with you brother, I don't think he is."
"Ditto." Summer agreed with a frown.
Understandably, Zeratul was outraged by what his friend had said. "Courage? It was an abomination!"
"What he said!"
"Yea!"
Tassadar, however, continued on as he explained. "Not always. The Zerg were... altered. A single over-riding purpose was forced upon them: the destruction of our people." As that was going on, the Overmind could be seen gazing all over the place before its massive eyes blinked.
This explanation silenced all the discourse and protest that happened in the theatre room.
"The Overmind was formed with thought and reason... but not free will. It screamed and raged within the prison of its own mind." Tassadar continued to explain as the screen panned towards an egg hatching to reveal two Zerglings as many others gathered up near it. They soon run off somewhere off screen.
"It has no free will in its own mind? How does that work?" Penny tilted her head in confusion as Tamamo explained.
"Ah… The Overmind was sentient, but did not have free will and was unable to rebel against its corrupted biological programming made into its very essence. Whatever choices it makes, the Overmind will be forced to commit genocide against the Protoss. No matter if it likes it or not."
"I can't imagine my life without free will…" Yang muttered out as several others agreed with her.
The screen flashes white before showing another vision of the past. Several eggs could be seen, though one was clearly different. "Who did this? Why?" Zeratul could only ask his friend for answers.
"I know not. But the Overmind found a way to resist its all-consuming directive. It created a chance... a hope of salvation." Tassadar explained as the egg in the middle hatched to reveal Kerrigan within it.
"The Queen of Blades."
"Her?! You're telling me, this queen bitch of the universe was made to save everyone?!" Mercury rightfully pointed out.
"This is a load of bull if you were to ask me." Emerald muttered.
"How can she be the one to save everyone when she's busy on a murder streak!" Yang rightfully pointed out as everyone nodded. Even Cinder.
Tamamo just smiled and pointed at the screen.
"Madness!" That was all Zeratul could say at this revelation.
The scene then changed to show deep space as hundreds of Mutalisk as well as Overlords and overseers could be seen flying across the screen. "Only she can free the Zerg from slavery – and in so doing, save all that is... from the flame." Tassadar continued his explanation as Zeratul was bewildered from what his brother had said.
"I do not understand, brother."
"Forget what you know, Zeratul. The Overmind saw a vision... the end of all things. And now you must see it too." Tassadar assured his friend as the screen panned to show that the Zerg were heading towards Korhal that had lights that could be seen from space before the screen went black. (Author wishes to thank the individual that helped conform the planet. So thank you for helping my sorry ass!)
"That planet looks quite beautiful. Minus the oncoming Zerg." Coco says as she takes a sip of water.
"It does…" Velvet added in.
"What kind of planet is it? I've never seen one that looks like a giant city." Pietro then asked as Tamamo gave a :3 as she explained.
"That planet you all see is partially an ecumenopolis. I doubt any of you understand what I'm saying but in short, think of it like a planet wide city or a completely urbanised world. Just one ecumenopolis can house hundreds of billions of souls, though food must be imported into it due to the lack of farmland available."
"Wow. That's amazing!" Ruby was in awe of it. So were several others.
"Will we be able to achieve it in the far future?" Weiss wondered out.
"Perhaps. It will not be easy but nothing's impossible." That was all Tamamo said as the screen resumed.
The screen lights up to show Zeratul on his knees with his hands on his head. Begging for the vision to stop showing him the end of all things. "No! This vision! I cannot bear it, stop!" And with that, the screen darkens for the final time as the lights in the theatre room come back.
"Oh dear… What did he witness to cause that kind of reaction?" Kali had her hand on her mouth when she saw Zeratul begging for it to stop.
"We will see that in the next viewing. Also…" Tamamo assured everyone as she read her tablet. Only for an amused and bewildered expression to appear on her face. "Wow… That just happened…"
"What just happened?" Illa raised an eyebrow as everyone just looked confused.
"Lily-San just… did a suicide attack on QAI's ACU. With her own ACU."
"SHE DID WHAT?!" Blake shot to her feet as she shrieked as her team winced away from how loud Blake was. They were all also genuinely surprised to see her this emotional before. Was because of Lily that Blake is acting like this?
"Don't worry about that Blake-San. She is fine. In fact, they should be here about… now." As soon as Tamamo finished speaking, Both Lily and RGQC could be seen teleporting into the theatre room. Noticeably, Lily was wearing a tight sliver-black suit of sorts that really shows everyone her figured body. Parts of the suit were glowing green as sliver circuitry could be seen all over the black parts of the suit while shimmering.
As for RGQC, he was wearing a blue military uniform that wouldn't be too far off from what Atlas military would wear. As they finished teleporting in, RGQC began clapping with an amused look on his face as Lily just looked like she did something that shouldn't work as she leaned on her knees.
"You know, I didn't expect you to go in for that kind of suicidal strategy and teleport yourself right next to QAI's ACU. But I'm glad it worked out." RGQC admitted with amusement in his tone as Lily let out a nervous chuckle.
"Yea… Never doing that tactic again. By the Brothers... It actually felt like I actually was going to die inside that mech."
QAI then could be heard in the background. [I must admit, you did well in that match despite my victory still being the most probable outcome. If we were to fight again, I will not underestimate you again.]
As for Lily, she wasn't so sure how to react to it. "Right… I'll take that as a compliment."
"Sooo… how's the match?" Ruby then asked as Lily pushed herself off her knees and straightened her back and regained her composure.
"It was awesome!" Lily then gave an excited smile. "RGQC and QAI were the main fighters in it and they were throwing air and ground units at each other! They even began fielding walkers and bots so massive that they tower over everything! Even I get my time to shine by bringing my own fair share of units like an experimental called the Galactic Colossus! And holy hell, is it awesome to see it in action!"
Lily, with excitement began to explain her experiences as pretty much everyone paid attention to her as RGQC just gave a warm smile as Tamamo poked his shoulder before passing the tablet to him.
Taking the tablet from Tamamo, he began reading the continents as his eyes narrowed down before he facepalmed. Which everyone noticed as he muttered just loud enough for everyone to hear.
"This is going to be awkward…"
"Is there something wrong RGQC?" Ghira then asked.
"Yes." RGQC deadpanned. "Looks like a friend of mine, who's also a realm lord, decided to bring in another… familiar face here." He said as passed Tamamo back her tablet.
"God damn that sneaky troll." RGQC muttered as he faced everyone in the theatre room. "Alpha, another resident of mine, is bringing her here right now. I'll be right back." RGQC said as he vanished. As for everyone, they began talking among themselves when the theatre room opened up to reveal a girl with white hair as well as obvious mechanical parts on her. As well as a cat Faunus woman who looks like she's in her forties with Ashen-Black hair.
While the White-haired girl seems interesting enough with her mechanical arms and pieces on her head, the other woman was the one that earned the most attention. While her current outfit had her wearing black peplum dress with a white belt with her hair grown until her shoulders. She also interestingly enough, has a silver Byzantine necklace that has a tear shaped emerald gem in the middle around her neck. But it was her face that was the most recognisable as well as a much more advanced looking Gambol Shroud on her hips.
"Mom?" Lily uttered in surprise.
"Lily? Is that you? What are you wearing?" The woman spoke up. Clearly still confused as to who sent her here.
"Wait a minute. Is that…" Yang mutters when she and many others pieced it together. As the woman interrupted Yang.
"Yes, I am who you think I am Yang, though… you all look younger for reasons beyond me." The woman now identified as an older Blake as she gazed all over the room. "And some of you should be dead right now…" Her words turned to poison at a certain half maiden as she rests her hand on Gambol Shroud and tightens.
"I don't know about you though." Blake calmed herself down before raising her free hand and pointing it at Tamamo, who just gave a cheerful smile before nodding as she stood up.
"I believe a talk is in order."
And… Cut!
Now we're done with Echoes of the Future. And yes, that's an alternative Blake that had Lily. And no. She won't be a recurring character. She will return to her own Remnant soon enough. But I thought it would be funny seeing how they would all react to seeing a much older and mature Blake doting over her daughter in the next chapter. Hehe.
Besides that, how y'all feel about this chapter so far? Next chapter will bring the horror of witnessing the end of all things. Oh boy, just thinking about it will realise that despite everything the Protoss throws against the endless tide of Zerg and hybrids, it won't be enough.
Also introducing another resident of RGQC's Realm in the form of Lucia Alpha from Punishing Gray Raven! And she spends most of her time in the training rooms. Should any of our dear audience go there in the future, she would be there to assist.
I don't have much to say except that if you like my work and want to see more of it in the future, favourite and follow this work of mine. If you wish to say anything to me, good or bad. Leave a review. I will answer it if I feel it is relevant or I want to address it.
Other than that, I will see ya guys in the next chapter soon.
RGQC out!
