Hey guys! RGQC here and we are back with the final mini-campaign mission for Wings! Yes, you know how this is going to go, I know how this is going to go. Let the horror of the end come! Oh! Oh! Oh! I'm so excited to see how you will react to it! Because I'm pumped!
But like always with all of my stories, we got some reviews to address first! Yea? Also, several reviews about me being a fellow Commander. Yes, I am. Honestly, I thought QAI alone would hint you guys. I guess not huh? No matter.
GNetNe: Thank you for confirming my suspicion and I have made the necessary changes! Thanks again!
Dakzillaman: Thanks! Also, adding team NDGO? I… doubt I would. I prefer keeping it as it is as I planned to add Salem in the future. Just not now. As for Ironwood seeing Warfield? Yea he's an absolute Chad punching a Hydralisk in the face. Roman and Neo should have their own battlecruiser? Just the two of them having an entire starship for themselves? You bet everyone else would protest the idea HARD. And yes. We shall see the killing begin.
Maglad: While I can't exactly show them SupComFA Epic Shorts 5 of 5. I can show them some titbits of the battle RGQC and Lily had against QAI probably in an intermission. And I hope it should be tasty enough as the final mini-campaign. But yes, that video is amazing. I have to agree wholeheartedly. As for Ironwood playing it, yea he should be. And I believe the faction that fits him the best is UEF. Do you agree with me?
x-x-TheBurnedMan-x-x: I've taken some time to think about your suggestion and as it pains me, I have to reject your suggestion. I don't hate the idea, but I had promised myself that I would keep it accurate to the game itself when I made this story. Only minor changes like the one I did in Sinister Turn. I'm so sorry
Zacker1590: Favourite faction? Between UEF and Cybran. Because who doesn't like pocket nukes in your backpack or ships with legs?
Davidomega59: Have them not see Amon but only hear his voice as if he were everywhere and nowhere at the same time? Good idea! I will add it in! It would take years for me to reach Legacy. After all, we need to finish Wings followed by Heart of the Swarm first, yes? Let us hope I can keep going and entertaining everyone.
Guest: Supcom 1 ACUs. We don't talk about 2 here. Why? We just don't talk about it. shhh…
Yolo27th: FORGED ALLIANCE FOREVER!
Deathleader: Glad to be of service! And yes, I'm happy to do it with no regrets!
Nutt Mann: First of all, good name. As for your question about StormGate? I'm hyped! But I will keep an eye on it for the time being and see how it develops. I don't wish to have my hope shattered too early. Grammar should be much better now as I have begun using Grammarly as you have suggested.
Ssgtsplatter: Yes, after we're done with In Utter Darkness, we'll return to our Terran missions. Don't you worry about it ok?
Can't wait: If I feel like it. Might introduce them to what you suggest or the Daemons of Slaanesh.
Guest: Yea, that sounds completely insane if Salem was the one to save Remnant. Good comparison.
Loner's Rad Patch: I did get most of my information from the StarCraft Wikia and stuff. And there was a ton of information on Neural resocialization that I had to streamline to be easily digestible. To me at least. While it is true that they should not be able to recreate any SC Terran tech, they can try to pull it off. I believe I mentioned it but I will be going for Tosh's side. I like him.
And like that, we're done with the reviews I wish to address.
Like before, I do not own RWBY or StarCraft or any other character from any other series. All of them belong to their respective owners: Rooster Teeth, StarCraft 2 belongs to Blizzard Entertainment. I only own my OCs in this story.
In Utter Darkness
Tamamo offers a gentle smile as High Queen Belladonna raises a curious eyebrow at our pink-haired fox wife material. As for everyone else, they were still observing Lily's mother in detail. And it's clear. This version of Blake is much older and wiser compared to her beacon years.
(Yes, I'll address her like that. You can blame for husband for giving her that title as a joke. Which unfortunately became an actual title for her. Much to her annoyance and his amusement. Until he got the title of High King. Then it was her turn to laugh.)
"Of course." High Queen Belladonna glanced to the side to see Ozpin's group as QAI could be heard.
[It's recommended that everyone here except Lily Belladonna and Mrs Belladonna leave the theatre room now. Master will handle the situation.] High Queen Belladonna's eyes narrowed down as she suddenly disappeared and reappeared next to her daughter with Gambol Shroud unsheathed.
"Whoa! What did she just do?" Sun was in awe and so was everyone else as Mrs Belladonna muttered with caution.
"I do not know what's going on, or where did that voice come from. But you better dare not try to do anything with my daughter-"
"Mom! It's ok. That's QAI speaking and I've spent some time here already. I'm sure RGQC will explain everything to you." Lily pushed down her mother's weapon as she closed her eyes to ponder her daughter's words.
"If you say so." High Queen Belladonna sheathed her weapon before she suddenly pulled her daughter into a hug. "It's been a while, Lily. You made your father and I worried about you; we never received any calls from you for weeks. I know you're doing your final examination and you would be busy, but we've still worried whether you passed it or not."
"It's ok mom, I did pass it with excellent marks and we had a celebration. I planned to call you about it in the aftermath but I was then brought here."
High Queen Belladonna lets out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad that you passed it. Our team never had the chance to go through it compared to you."
Everyone in the theatre room could only watch the heart-warming scene happening in front of them. "Never thought I would see Blake acting like a doting mother before." Yang muttered as a blush began to form on Blake's face.
"Yes, I find it very unusual. It's like her personality went on its head. Much more different from our Blake." Weiss was next to make her observation.
"Guys please stop..." Blake groaned as she started becoming a blushing mess from all the embarrassment.
"See honey, I knew she would change eventually when she gets her own kittens!" Kali points out as Ghira just let out a grunt in response while continuing to observe his alternative daughter in detail.
"Mom!" Blake cried out while covering her face with her hands.
The next thing everyone didn't expect was for High Queen Belladonna to break from the hug and grab her daughter right on the cheek before tugging it. "And what's with this outfit you're wearing, young lady? Last I checked, both your father and I agree that you shouldn't wear such scandalous outfits. I think you've been spending too much of your time staying around Yang in Vale, haven't you?"
What High Queen Belladonna just did alone silenced everyone in the room. Including Tamamo. They all could only look at High Queen Belladonna with genuine shock as Lily could be heard protesting.
"Mwm! Lwer mw Chwek Gow! Thwes Pweople Waching Hwre!" Lily begged as she tried to remove her mother's hand from her cheek to no avail.
[Everyone, do leave the theatre room now, Master is coming.] QAI could be heard again as everyone got up and left with Alpha escorting them. Also, Blake would now have to deal with some teasing from everyone thanks to what her older alternative version of her just did.
As soon as everyone left the room RGQC appeared through the portal and greeted them both. "Ah, Blake Belladonna. It's uh… nice to meet you." RGQC greeted with a smile.
"When I get my hands on you. You white-haired flowery bastard for putting me and her into this situation, I'll make you regret it." RGQC thought to himself as High Queen Belladonna turned and faced him with a raised eyebrow."
"Oh? An alternative version of my husband? How… unexpected." High Queen Belladonna doesn't seem surprised about seeing RGQC at all. She sounds more amused than anything else.
This earned a chuckle from the realm lord. "Yes. I assume he told you all sorts of stories from Earth?"
"Oh yes, he did, and the stories people come up with their creativity. Am I in one of them right now?" High Queen Belladonna also let out a cheeky grin at the absolute absurdity of her current situation.
"Yes. I would say so." RGQC just gave a nod and a chuckle "I'll cut this short then since you know much thanks to your husband. Everyone you've seen here is watching a series of mine that's one of my favourites. That includes your daughter as well."
"Did you bring her here?" Mrs Belladonna asks as the realm lord just shook his head.
"Not actually." RGQC shook his head. "Almost everyone bought here by a portal was an accident due to some anomaly. That includes your daughter. I wanted to send her back to where she came from but she requested to stay here for a while." RGQC explained as Mrs Belladonna turned her eyes on her daughter.
"Is this true? Has he been treating you well during your stay here?"
"Yes, mom. I have a place to stay, sleep and he provided meals for us all. I get to explore the vast places in RGQC's realm. Oh! There are also hot springs and a spa here! You got to try them out mom! They're amazing! Way better than the ones in Atlas!" That alone earned a satisfactory smile from Blake as RGQC nodded.
"Don't worry, while everyone, including your younger self, is watching whatever I'm showing them, you and Lily are free to go exploring. Or would you prefer a guide as well?" RGQC lay out the options for Blake as Lily just looked at her mother.
"I wouldn't mind either, to be honest. It will be nice to get away from all the office work. It's a shame that Jade won't be able to join it." High Queen Belladonna just shook her head as Lily's smile grew wider.
"But first, let us have a chat. And do get Lily out of whatever she's wearing please." High Queen Belladonna requested as RGQC just nodded in response. And with a snap of his finger, Lily was covered in a flash before she was back in her Huntress outfit. At the same time, the entire room shifted as the walls seemed to dissipate and change.
The very next second, High Queen Belladonna, Lily and RGQC found themselves in a garden. And not far from them was a white round table made out of marble with three white leather chairs. On the table, itself were tea and biscuits of various kinds.
High Queen Belladonna's eyes widen for a second as she absorbs the surrounding view as Lily just looks in awe with all the flowers all over the place. "And yes, I can do that whatever I please."
RGQC just smirked as he walked over to one of the chairs and sat down, he then began to pour tea on the three tea cups as both High Queen Belladonna and Lily walked over and sat on the leather chairs.
"This is amazing." High Queen Belladonna was in awe as RGQC nodded in agreement.
"It is"
Uhm… RGQC?" Lily, bewildered as to what she saw called the realm lord before pointing at the theatre door still there. "Why is the door still there?"
That got a chuckle from the realm lord as he took a sip. "This room is still technically a theatre room, but I change everything in it to represent the beautiful garden. Even then, this room is still designated a theatre room, so some things remain unchanged."
"If all of them return…" Blake came to a conclusion as RGQC spoke up.
"They would be in for a surprise." The realm lord let out a mischievous chuckle as High Queen Belladonna joined in.
"You're him alright."
"Yes, I am." RGQC smirked as Lily took a sip.
"Wow. This tea is amazing." Lily's eyes seemed to glisten as her mother giggled.
"Good. My love of lavender tea never changes. Now then, let's have that chat." All three of them smiled as they began to talk while enjoying their time together.
When everyone returned to the 'theatre' room. They immediately realise that they were instead in a garden. As RGQC could be seen having tea with Lily and High Queen Belladonna. All three of them could be seen laughing and clearly having fun with whatever they were talking about. RGQC then noticed everyone watching all three of them as he recomposed by coughing into his hand and stood up to address everyone else.
"Ah, you've arrived. I suppose this talk would have to stop for now. Anyways, give me a moment. I'll change it back to how it originally looks." And like he did before, RGQC snapped his fingers as the entire garden seemed to darken soon. The entire room was back to a theatre room. Though the leather chairs and table were still there. Just at the base of the room itself.
"Wow. Did you turn the entire room into a garden? That's spectacular!" Penny was the first to speak up as High Queen Belladonna had a nostalgic look on her face as she smiled.
"You never changed in the slightest Penny Polendina." Penny had a thoughtful look as she asked.
"Oh! You know me from where you're from?"
"Yes. You remained in Altas and watched over Pietro. Age was catching up to him at that time. It's nice seeing you again. Penny."
"I can say the same Blake Belladonna!" Penny has a big smile as everyone giggles or chuckles at the scene.
"RGQC has informed me as to what you're doing over here and since you're back now, I shouldn't be taking your time. We can talk more after this viewing." High Queen Belladonna explained as she began walking towards the exit. As she strolls passed everyone, she gave one hell of a death glare at Cinder specifically as well as Ironwood before she left while Lily followed after her mother.
"Did anyone see that glare adult Blake gave to Cinder and Ironwood?" Neptune pointed out as everyone now has more questions. Why does this version of Blake show utter contempt for them both? All of them could only gaze at each other with both curiosity and confusion.
"And she clearly hates the general's guts." Qrow points out.
"What did you do to make her hate you that much Ironwood?" Ozpin asked his friend, who was unsure about the whole thing.
"I… do not know as to why..." Ironwood was at loss.
"Lily did mention that you were removed from power and Specialist Schnee took over as General a while back. And she shares the same contempt for you as well General." Robyn chimed in.
"But how far was the extent to earn that look from Mrs Belladonna." Glynda wonders. Blake has never been one to express her emotions, yet here's an adult version of her displaying pure hatred at both Ironwood and a fellow student much to everyone's confusion.
"I'm sure all of you have plenty to ask for our new guest who I would send back eventually. Mrs Belladonna desires to return to her world. After all, she has a kingdom to manage." RGQC began to explain the situation as a groan could be heard from Blake's lips.
"Please don't tell me that I'm the one doing all of the paperwork…" Blake muttered as RGQC just shook his head.
"Actually, it's more of the other way around, you're-. I mean, her husband was the one managing the kingdom as a whole, while she assisted him and prevented him from overworking himself to death."
"Oh."
"Yup. Turns out he's a workaholic. Or that he prioritises Menagerie as a whole before his health, which isn't good either now that I thought it through…' RGQC glanced to the side as he rubbed his chin.
"Anyways, I believe that we've wasted enough time. I bet you're all curious as to what Zeratul foresaw in that vision?" The realm lord questioned all of his audience as he got back voices of interest and worry at the same time.
"Great! Because you'll be in for a big ass ride. And I'll give ya a break after viewing this one. Trust me, you will all need it." RGQC gave a mischievous grin as the marble table and leather chairs disappeared and he sat down on his chair.
"Should we be worried about what RGQC just said?" Ruby glanced at her teammates as Yang assured her little sister.
"Don't ya worry about it Ruby, I'm sure it can't be that bad. Right? Please say I'm right." Yang's smile wavered as that just got a chuckle out from the realm lord. This got them even more worried that this vision they all will witness would be a bad one. After all, judging from Zeratul's reaction in the previous viewing. It must be really bad if he begged for it to stop.
"QAI, you know what to do." RGQC raised his hand before bringing it down as QAI could be heard.
[Understood master.]
"This viewing would be interesting…" Cinder could only purr and wonder. What did he witness that terrified such a warrior like Zeratul? Only one way to find out.
And so, the theatre room darkens while the screen lights up to show up with the aftermath of the previous vision.
Zeratul learned that the Overmind was enslaved by an outside force and compelled to attack the Protoss. In a final act of defiance, the Overmind created the Queen of Blades to free the Zerg.
"And I don't like every second of it." Emerald mutters out her thoughts on the idea.
"Yeah me either." Neo could be heard agreeing with Emerald as the screen changed to show the current time inside the Hyperion.
Hyperion Cantina - 23:02 Shipboard Time
…
The screen lights up to show Raynor had returned to the Cantina and could be seen taking a sip of his drink as the jukebox could be heard playing in the background. Tychus could also be seen drinking straight from the bottle as he spoke with a hint of annoyance in his tone.
"When I get outta this suit, first thing I'm doin' is... well, I'd hate to offend your delicate sensibilities." That got a small amused smile from Raynor as well as him shaking his head.
"Whatever you say old buddy Tychus." This understandably got those who understand what Tychus meant, to have blushes on their cheeks.
"Oh my…" Kali muttered with her hand covering her mouth.
"Ugh… Men…" Winter just rolled her eyes as it's clear that Tychus is starting to remind her of Qrow in a way. As for our resident birdman, he just shrugs and takes a sip of water after witnessing Winter rolling her eyes.
After a period of silence, an ad began playing on the TV screen above Raynor. It starts out with a literal explosion. "Nuke Noodles! Call down the FLAVOR!" Raynor could be seen looking up for a second before shrugging and returning to drink. As for our audience, they were surprised to see another advertisement.
"Another advert? And it's about Nuke Noodles?" Coco just looked confused at the whole thing, that same sentiment was shared by several others. But not all of them.
"Sounds… tasty?" Neptune looked unsure as he landed his eyes on his partner who was too unsure about the whole thing, as for Yang…
"Can I expect a… explosion of flavour from it?" Yang gave a goofy grin as everyone immediately groaned except for Tai. "But seriously though, does it taste good?"
"You can't be serious Yang." Weiss rebuked her teammate as RGQC spoke up after recovering from that awful pun.
"Besides that pun, yes. Nuke Noodles are surprisingly tasty. You should have a try. You won't regret it." And with the realm lord's encouragement, everyone watched as Yang summoned a cup noodle of Nuke Noodles alongside chopsticks and dug into it.
And as soon as Yang took a bite out of the noodles, her eyes widened from the taste. "Wow. RGQC wasn't kidding. These noodles are good!"
"Is it really that good Yang? Lemmi have some then!" Ruby jumped at the opportunity to try some noodles as Yang gave her sister some.
This got a delighted moan from Ruby. "Mmm… Yang's right, these noodles are great!" Ruby then summoned her own Nuke noodles as that alone got others to start trying it out. But out of everyone in the theatre room, only one person brought up an important question.
"What's a nuke?" And that came from Penny who tilted her head and was more curious about the nukes.
"Ah… Let's just say that it's a habit for humans all over the universe to develop a powerful and destructive bomb made by nuclear reaction or fission or both."
"How destructive are we talking about?" Cinder asked as RGQC shook his head.
"Extremely destructive. Strong enough that you can drop one in the middle of the city of Vale, and it will be all gone. Only ruins will remain after the blast." RGQC explained as everyone paled.
"Have enough of those weapons and detonate them, you can destroy the biosphere of Remnant and render it uninhabitable. Yea… Don't make them for your sakes, you have enough problems to worry about. That's all I can say." RGQC continued on as he points at the screen with his thumb.
Raynor stared at his drink for a moment before he stood up from his chair and walked over to Tosh. Who watches him from above and figures out that Raynor wishes to talk to him about something?
"I wonder what Tosh will say next." Ilia wondered to herself as Blake chose to whisper back to her.
"Definitely be related to the previous vision, Ilia."
"Also, can I say that you still look pretty good and young despite you in your forties?" Ilia whispered to Blake as her face grew red from embarrassment. As for Ilia, she just giggled.
When Raynor reached Tosh's corner of the Cantina, Tosh had a quick look at Raynor overall and had an understanding of the situation. Tosh then spoke up about his observations.
"You look... haunted. You've been seein' into the spirit world, and you learned somethin' you don't like. It's... Kerrigan?" Tosh uttered with curiosity that it was about Kerrigan.
"Good old Tosh and his ability to read Raynor's mind." Sun jokingly spoke as Neptune joined the conversation.
"Tosh can read minds since he has psionic powers. So yea."
"Uh-huh."
Raynor looked conflicted on the whole matter as he tried to explain what he'd seen to Tosh. "Seems the Overmind made Kerrigan to... free the Zerg... from somethin'. Put 'em on a collision course with the Protoss."
Raynor took a split second to gather his thoughts as he continued. "It's all gone wrong. Everything's... twisted, and there's something out there that's set to destroy us all."
"And I believe that we'll have a glimpse into whoever out there that wishes to kill everything later." Ozpin added in as everyone could only cautiously agree. Whatever it is, it is all bad news.
"Zerg... Protoss. These are strong races. How terrible - how powerful - is something that plays with their fates?" Tosh could only wonder out as both men were unsure as to how to make it. Seeing the situation going nowhere, Raynor chose to take his leave and headed off as the screen darkens.
"Just how strong must whoever that thing be able to twist both Protoss and Zerg together into hybrids?" Ruby could only wonder and fear as everyone absorbed what Tosh had said.
As for RGQC, he just hummed as he chose to speak up. "Saying out loud would be spoilers but let me tell you all something." He took a pause.
"Through my time watching over the countless universes and realities, I learned one thing. The only ones that can do that kind of thing are those who have godlike powers or are extremely advanced that it makes the Protoss look like ants to them."
"They'll be dealing with a god?" Nora suddenly spoke up with a straw in her mouth as an idea popped into her head. "Oh! Oh! Are they going to kill a god in the future?"
Everyone else could only stare at Nora in utter confusion as to what she had said. But as for RGQC, for a split second, he had a surprised look on his face before it went back to his neutral expression.
"Again with Nora sort of landing on the dot. Then again, giving her coffee somehow allows her to break reality somehow. Ah… the strange wonders of the universe. Speaking of which, I should install a rule to prevent Nora from drinking anything strong in caffeine. I do not want Nora to start breaking reality suddenly."
RGQC just coughs into his hand as he points at the screen. "Alright people, let's not get distracted." And with that, the screen lights up again.
Raynor could now be seen in the armoury and having a chat with Swann. "Y'know, I been watchin' the logs. Those damn Protoss are still way ahead of us. I can't believe some of the stunts they can pull off." Swann complained as Raynor agreed.
"Tell me about it! They've learned some new tricks since the last time we fought."
"I mean c'mon, since when could they warp in guys just anywhere? I thought they needed some kinda gateway at least!" Swann grumbled as RGQC jumped in to add additional information for everyone.
"What Swann was referring to was that 4 years ago, the Protoss cannot transform their gateways into warp gates. It was just recently that they can warp in their warriors anywhere." RGQC explained as everyone nodded.
Understanding Swann's exasperation, Raynor chose to explain to his chief engineer. "Not just anywhere, they need a pylon or another power source close by. Still, they've been working to improve their tech just like us."
"Yea doesn't mean I liked it." Swann mutters as Raynor smirks before walking off the screen before lighting up again to show Raynor on the bridge talking to Matt.
"Damn, Matt. I don't even know what to make of this last vision from the crystal." Raynor did a quick glance to the side while speaking to his seconds.
"Zeratul was looking for more clues about the end of the universe - but this time he was on Aiur."
"Yea and whatever he had seen had him spooked." Torchwick hummed.
"Yea. I'm slightly concerned about whatever he had seen though." Neo admitted her worry as Torchwick grunted.
"Ehh... Whatever it is, we have a front-row seat in it."
"Aiur?" Matt wondered as to why Zeratul was doing on Aiur. "What was he looking for?" He asked as Raynor explained to him.
"He was trying to find out why the Overmind made the Queen of Blades in the first place."
"She's the one that's going to destroy the universe?" Matt asked as he seemed unsure yet concluded that Kerrigan is going to kill everyone. Only for Raynor to disagree with him with a different answer.
"No, that's just it - I think she's the only one that can save it."
Matt raised a curious eyebrow as his commander. "Are… you sure sir?"
"Yea. I need to see the visions first Matt. "I'll catch you later." And with that, Raynor walked off as Matt just nodded at his commander. The screen only darkens once Raynor has exited the bridge.
"Yea… I have a bad feeling about it…" Fox admitted as his teammates agreed.
"Ditto."
The screen lights up to show Raynor staring at the Ihan crystal again like in the previous viewing with Ariel watching him with a hint of concern in the background. The screen then pans towards the Protoss tank as it was apparent that it changed from the last mission.
Now, golden crystals could be seen growing on the side of the tank itself as well as the fact that it's barely several inches away from the black sphere itself. Also, speaking of the black sphere itself, it seems to be emitting power of its own as energy could be seen exiting the sphere and forming a chain with the surrounding environment.
"Whoa… those crystals are growing fast." Ruby muttered as Summer hummed in response.
"That appears to be the case, dear. I believe it's only been a couple of hours since the last vision and now it is growing in the tank itself."
Knowing what was going to happen next, Pietro took out the tablet as it began to beep before reading its contents. "Huh… Stetmann has concluded that the black sphere we see is an energy emitter of some sort. However, it has a strong containment that the crystal can slowly draw power from it via some method he doesn't understand at all." Pietro read its contents out loud as Penny took over.
"Because of this, Stetmann now has an idea of using this same containment technology to enhance the SCV manufacturing process to double capacity with no increased risk!"
"I see… with this tech, Raynor should be able to get his economy working faster am I right Penny?" Ironwood nodded his head as Penny confirmed it.
"Correct General! Stetmann also made a breakthrough. The energy in the crystal was not kept in a vortex pattern. They appear to be warping the energy around so fast that Stetmann couldn't detect it with his equipment. In a strange coincidence, the warping appears to have slowed down just enough for his sensors to pick it up. As if… the crystal in the tank is sentient and helping him out."
"You're saying that it's aware of its surroundings and helping Stetmann out?" Robyn raised an eyebrow as Penny confirmed it.
"Yes! That appears to be the case, Huntress Robyn! Every time Stetmann reaches his wits' end with the current sample, something happens by chance. As if the crystal or sphere is helping him out!"
"That's… spooky." Yang muttered.
"Not the weirdest thing we've heard or seen Yang." Weiss muttered.
"Yea but can you imagine something like Dust being aware and actively helping us? That would cause everyone to freak out yea?"
"True I suppose…"
The camera began to pull away from the Protoss tank and back to Raynor staring at the Ihan Crystal, while that's going on, RGQC spoke up.
"Ah yes. I should give a preamble for this mission and a unique world called Ulnar." The realm lord hummed as he took up his tablet and began reading. "In Protoss legends, the planet Ulnar was the mythical last resting place of the gods, the very centre of creation from which all life ultimately flows."
"That's… interesting?" Coco tilted her head.
"I've seen many things and there are many gods out there. Both benevolent and malevolent. Same with the Protoss, they have their own faith and religions. Same with you people with the Brother Gods." RGQC hummed, though when he mentioned the Brother Gods, his tone became sombre for reasons most didn't understand.
"Then what about you RGQC? Back when you were still well… alive, what kinds of faiths and religions exist in your world?" Ruby then wonders out as RGQC just closed his eyes and hummed.
"It's been a while since I've last checked it. There are an estimated 10,000 distinct religions where I came from. But most about 84% of the world's population from where I'm from are affiliated with Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, or some form of folk religion. There are just too many to talk about. But I have books to explain every one of them in my libraries. I'm sure you'd like to read some of them in your spare time."
This got nods from everyone as the screen continued as before, Zeratul's voice could be heard once again in everyone's head.
"Now, friend Raynor, you must see the Overmind's vision of the future. The end of my people... and all things. This is our fate, should Kerrigan die…"
"I don't like where this is going." Jaune looked worried as Pyrrha did her best to assure him.
"I'm sure it will be fine Jaune."
"I don't think I want to see any vision of the Overmind's... But if Kerrigan's involved... I need to know." As Raynor responds to the Crystal, it began to glow with a hollowing sound as the screen changes. But instead of showing Zeratul's eyes, the audience has gotten used to it.
Instead, it shows the Overmind's singular eye was in his place as it began to blink.
"I assume this is intentional?" Raven asked as RGQC confirmed it ominously.
"Yes… What you are about to witness is the end."
"Welp."
"On a distant, shadowed world, the Protoss will make their final stand. Their heroes will gather, their forces will be marshalled, and they will die bravely. But still, they will die." The Overmind began to speak as the screen showed hundreds of Protoss warriors gathered. Numerous Zealots, Stalkers and High Templar could be seen on the upper platform.
As for everyone else, they were in awe at how many Protoss could be seen. Hundreds could be seen cheering despite them about to make their last stand.
"And my Zerg... will be slaves... to the hybrid." The Overmind continued as the camera pans through several Zerg before showing a Hybrid that looked like Maar. As well as two Hybrids that looked more Zerg-attuned than Protoss. They were clearly much larger compared to the Hybrid Dominators.
Even more, was that it has multiple tendrils on its back and Zerg-like jaws. Its eyes glow bright blue as do some parts of its body that had blue glowing lines as well. It possesses massive claws and much more thick carapace armour than its Protoss-attuned Hybrid.
Understandably witnessing one of those Hybrid horrors again gave them memories of how strong Maar was in the previous viewing. Now they all are witnessing a Zerg version of it as well as the fact that the Zerg are enslaved by it.
"Oh… by the Gods…" Tai could only mutter when they all witnessed how the Zerg were enslaved by those… things.
"The ride has only truly begun." That was all RGQC said as the Overmind continued.
"All will bow before the power... of the Fallen One." And with that, the screen darkens as everyone looks at the realm lord.
"This is why I recommend that you all take a break after this one. Things… are going to get dark fast. Trust me."
"Just what are we watching RGQC?" Glynda asked.
"As the Overmind has stated. The last stand of the Protoss species in this dark future. The very vision the Overmind foresees should Kerrigan die." RGQC just closed his eyes.
"Where's everyone else? Shouldn't they be here as well?" Velvet almost afraid asked. Yet, she got nothing in response as he just pointed at the screen.
The screen lights up to show a massive Protoss base that extends for quite a distance as the camera pans across it. Zeratul could be heard giving the current Protoss warriors a rallying speech, as a massive Protoss structure could be seen behind the warriors rallied.
"Protoss brethren, heed me! The last twilight has fallen. The galaxy burns around us! The Terrans have been consumed. We are all that stands against the shadow. But if we are to meet our end this day, then we will do so AS ONE! En Taro Tassadar!" And every single Protoss warrior let out a battle cry, for they all knew this was their end.
"En Taro Tassadar!"
As for our dear audience, they now understood what RGQC meant by the last stand. Everyone's dead except for them. For they are the last one left standing to resist the fallen one in this galaxy. The very thought of humanity rendered extinct sends shivers up their spines. There will be no victory in this viewing. They understand now. What they will witness is only death and the end of all things.
And so, the Protoss made preparations for their final stand. Probes could be seen setting up Photon cannons as well as walling off the bridges into the base with Gateways. While all that was going on, a High Templar could be seen interacting with Zeratul as his face could be seen on screen. At the same time, numerous High Templars could also be seen entering the massive Protoss structure on the lower section of the base.
"Great one, the vault is prepared. Guard us while we preserve our knowledge for those that may follow. They must not make the mistakes we did." The High Templar explained as Zeratul responds.
"We will buy you all the time you need, brother." That was all Zeratul said as the High Templar gave a bow.
"Understood great one." And with that, the High Templar left and joined his brothers within the archive vault.
"Throwing light into the future. Or more accurately, throwing light into the past." Ozpin murmured to himself.
"Care to enlighten us Ozpin?" Glynda glanced at her Headmaster as he just acknowledged her.
"As we can see, what's left of the Protoss have sealed away their history and knowledge, so that someday a future race might use it against the Hybrids. Funnily enough, though, it's Mr Raynor who receives the benefits of that history and knowledge that Kerrigan must survive if the galaxy is to be saved." Ozpin came to that conclusion as everyone processed what he had just said.
"That's… true." Ironwood agreed with his friend as the camera pans toward a massive Warp conduit as it begins to rise from the ground. It also began spinning as power courses through it with power.
"Interesting… It looks like a gateway. Am I correct RGQC?" Pietro asked as the realm lord just lift his hand before slowly swinging it side by side.
"Sort of. That massive structure is called a Warp conduit. Its main purpose is to allow Protoss craft to travel between planets, and to different locations on the surface of the same planet. And it appears that reinforcements are arriving…" A smirk appeared on his face as he pointed at the screen.
As what the realm lord meant, the Warp conduit began to slow down before combining its pieces into a gate. Soon, several bird-like crafts began warping in with one of them coloured in orange and looked much more heavily armed and armoured.
"Reinforcements!" Nora cheers out as Ren notices something.
"Is it me or do they have a bird-like appearance to them?"
"Yea… they kinda do." Jaune agrees with Ren as Pyrrha joins in.
"They do look elegant in their designs."
[Those aircraft are called Phoenixes. They are air-superiority fighters designed for aerial harassment against targets that lacked armour. The Phoenix as a whole is a highly manoeuvrable craft that possesses great speed and can outmanoeuvre almost any foe they fight against. It can even attack while moving.] QAI began to explain the purpose of those space crafts.
[They also possess an ability called Graviton Beam, which allows them to immobilise most targets by lifting them into the air. However, this comes at the cost of making the Phoenix helpless as it cannot move or attack when using it.]
"This is some fascinating information QAI!" Penny could be heard as RGQC just gave a nod with a smile on his face. Oh, how QAI makes things easier for him. Somewhat. Others require a more… hands-on approach.
As soon as they finished warping in, the camera zoomed in into the cockpit of the orange Phoenix and within it, an armoured Protoss pilot could be seen with a visor on that had teal lines all over it.
"Someone important?" Mercury questions as RGQC answers him.
Yes. May I introduce all of you to Admiral Urun, leader of the Auriga Tribe. His people were the first to construct sailing ships to sail Aiur's seas and were captivated by the thrill of exploring the unknown. A trait they still have when their species venture into deep space." RGQC took a short pause as he spoke again.
"In the aftermath of the Aeon of Strife, the Auriga tribe were placed within the Templar Caste with the charge to operate the great fleets of the Protoss race." While RGQC was explaining it to all of them, everyone else was in awe at what they'd heard.
"That's amazing!"
"It is." The realm lord just smiled.
"I have rallied the last of our great fleet!" Admiral Urun announced as the camera pulled back to show that he and his squadron of Phoenixes began flying towards where every Protoss warrior was gathering. While that was going on, even more Phoenixes could be seen warping in before the Warp conduit deactivates and sinks into the ground.
Zeratul's face appeared on screen as he welcomed his brother in their last fight together. "Your timing is impeccable, Admiral Urun! When the enemy takes to the air, we will need your support."
"Let them come. We shall slay every single Zerg that comes!" That was all Admiral Urun said as the defenders continued to strengthen their defences. Gateways which became Warpgates were used as walls, photon cannons were set up, as well as more stalkers and Colossus could be seen being brought into action.
"Huh, funny. They're copying the tactics from the Terrans book. Then again, I doubt they can lift off their buildings or teleport. Can they?" Neo asked as RGQC shook his head.
"Nope. They can't do much once they warp in their buildings. So, they have to place them carefully. But they leave a decent gap to build a corridor to filter them through. Add in several Colossi to thin the herd, and you got a kill box ready to deal with the swarm without getting overwhelmed by it."
"That's… quite insightful, RGQC." Ironwood muttered. After all, most of the time, Grimm relies on their numbers to overwhelm their targets. Only the older ones would know that it's a trap and would try to go around it. Flyers will still be a problem though.
As Admiral Urun made his way with his Phoenixes, some sort of menacing voice could be heard echoing everywhere. It doesn't help that it feels hollow and it echoes everywhere. Like that voice is in the theatre room itself.
"The Zerg performed their function as I had planned...My Hybrid are proof of this. Now, the last of the Protoss will fulfill their function...In death!" The voice reeked with arrogance as a massive swarm of Zerglings supported by Roaches and Mutalisks could be seen heading in from the front entrance of the base.
"What was that?" Kali asked as everyone should only feel a shiver travelling up their spines when whoever was speaking. It made everyone uncomfortable as well as it felt like someone was speaking in their heads and yet, they could hear it in the theatre room itself.
"The Dark voice." The realm lord answered vaguely.
"That… doesn't say much." Robyn muttered.
"Yea… Also, what the hell that was?! I could hear him like I'm there!" Sun agreed before pointing out. He got agreements from most of the audience.
"I don't like it. That voice feels… wrong…" Velvet admitted as her rabbit ears sank.
"Things are only going to get worse isn't it?" Weiss lamented.
"Yup." Blake carried on.
"The Zerg comes for us! Show them our wrath Warriors!" Zeratul could be heard ordering his warrior as everyone charged as one to engage the oncoming Zerg forces. Zealots could be seen leaping into the tide of Zerglings with support from both Stalkers and Immortals. Colossi could also be seen burning any Zergling they hit with their terminal lances as an air brawl could be witnessed above.
Mutalisk and Phoenixes exchanged fire against each other as either of them dodged and weaved around the base. High Templars on the battlefield unleashed their Psionic storms on the oncoming Zergling horde and eviscerated large swaths of them. And in the end, the first wave was stopped with minimal losses.
Yet everyone knows that this fight was the first of many to come. More Photon Cannons could be seen warping in as the gateways have finished warping in on the flanks of the base, leaving only a small passageway for the Zerg to come.
"Looks like what RGQC just said is true, the defenders left a small opening for them. But how long would it hold them?" Summer wondered honestly. If this was the bad future foreseen, they were doing pretty well for now. Yet Summer shuddered at the thought of her daughter witnessing what could be summarised as a last stand against an unending foe that just keeps on coming.
It reminded her too much of how she died that day, out of ammunition, exhausted, broken and alone. Despite fighting her best in the hope of seeing her daughter again, it was too much and every single Grimm overwhelmed and ripped her to shreds. She could see it happening here. The Protoss will fight to the end, but it's all still painful to her.
"Mom, are you alright?" Summer heard her daughter Ruby call up to her. She was pale, sweating and her hands were shivering. Everyone could see that as she just shook her head.
"I'm fine sweety." Summer tried to sound convincing but it was clear to everyone, including the realm lord that she was not.
"Hmm… I should set up a therapy session for Summer, that should get her back onto her feet when I do eventually send her back with the others. Damn everyone else and their rules, I'm doing what I believe in. If I can do something to make someone happy. I will."
Zerg could be seen gathering in the far distance away while more Phoenixes could be seen gathering up due to the presence of Zerg flyers. With Observers in the vicinity, they were detected as Admiral Urun alerted his fellow warriors.
"The Zerg are swarming at our flanks. We have to react quickly or our perimeter defenses will fall!" That got every single warrior to move and prepare their defences as more colossi could be seen approaching the front line.
"The next wave is here. But the defenders are ready and I doubt they'd make much progress." Penny observed.
Soon, the next Zerg wave approaches the defending Protoss as they are quickly funnelled down by the Warp gates. High templars once again unleashed their Psionic storms onto the oncoming swarms as Colossi could be seen targeting down Hydralisk as the rest of the swarm were held back by Zealots.
And like before, Mutalisk clashed in the skies against Phoenixes though several of those elegant fighters were shot down as they crashed among the base littered with Zerg corpses. And the pile of corpses will only grow bigger as more time passes.
"Just how far will they fight on? If they know the end is coming. Why fight it?" Mercury genuinely wonders out as that earned him glares from everyone.
"Because in Protoss culture, dying with honour is preferable to surviving through cowardice. And with them the last left standing against an unbeatable foe, they will take as many Zerg and Hybrids to the end." RGQC explained as the screen resumed.
"Fighting to the bitter end?" Ilia tilts her head.
"Yea, if you're going to die, then take as many of them with you. Make it a pyrrhic victory for them. Bleed them." It took only a second for RGQC to process what he had just said.
"Oh. Oops."
"Pyrrhic victory? Why does it sound like my name was used in it?" Pyrrha rightfully asked.
"Uhh… Ok… QAI?" The realm lord had an awkward look on his face as he called his trusted AI buddy for help.
[Understood master, the meaning of pyrrhic victory is: a tactical victory that comes at such extreme cost it is often seen as a strategic defeat. The origins of this meaning come from General Pyrrhus on earth, a king of Epirus who defeated the Romans in 279 BCE but lost many of his troops in the process.]
"This can't be just a coincidence, isn't it?" Pyrrha's voice wavered as her friends looked at her with worry.
"The multiverse is a strange place, perhaps it is by chance that you share a name with this general Pyrrha. Don't put too much thought into it. Your parents chose to name you after your hair colour from your mother." RGQC assured Pyrrha as she let out a relieved sigh.
"Then again the multiverse proves that it can be an asshole and gives her so many death flags on her back. But she doesn't need to know about that. No need to mentally affect her here." RGQC glanced to the side.
The screen continues as more defences and more 'walls' were set up to hold the line. Even more, Phoenixes could be seen regrouping as the Zerg thralls continue to attack the defences with bigger waves and the introduction of more advanced Zerg strains like the Ultralisk.
Everyone could only watch as the Ultralisk rammed against the Warp gates blocking its path as Immortals and stalkers lay onto it with firepower. Zeratul was also there to stun it in place.
Everyone cringed when the Ultralisk's head suddenly blew up when multiple Immortals all timed and fired at its head at the same time, its body began to collapse and crush several other Zerg beneath it. Also, it was on fire thanks to the colossi zapping it with its thermal lancers.
"Ooh… that's a big explosion," Neptune mumbled as his partner added in.
"Of blood and body bits."
"Yea."
As soon as that Zerg wave was defeated, the Dark voice could be heard once again as he taunted. "All shall be remade in my name! Behold my greatest creation!" Horrifying screeches could be heard from a distance as a Hybrid pack could be seen heading toward the Protoss defenders.
"Oh boy. Now those things show up." Yang grumbled as everyone frowned. Things are now going to get even more challenging than before.
In response, every single Protoss defender grouped up to meet those abominations. Head on. Hybrid Reavers could be seen charging for the front lines on all fours as Destroyers could be seen following behind. Both sides were about to clash when all of them were suddenly picked up by Admiral Urun and his Phoenix squad.
Everyone in the audience snorted at first, then it became full-blown laughter as they watched as the Hybrid attack wave struggled to get out of Graviton Beam to no avail. All of them were quickly focused to death by Stalkers and Photon cannons and those who managed to wait out the Graviton Beam landed back on the ground.
Only to be picked up again by another Phoenix.
"Oh man, I thought some big thing was going to happen. How anti-climactic that was!" Tai began to laugh at the scene.
"Hahahaha! Look at them struggle!" Mercury laughed alongside most of the students at the sight of those monstrosities just floating in the air. Even Ozpin had a smirk on his face. It reminded him of Glynda picking up students who tried to flee from her back in Beacon. That includes team RWBY who earned the most ire from Glynda.
As the last of the Hybrid wave were eliminated with their bodies disintegrating upon their demise, it reminded our dear audience of home in how the Grimm does the same upon death. But the Grimm are nothing to the Hybrids on screen.
After only a minute of reprieve, Admiral Urun's face could be seen on screen as he gave an alert. "I'm detecting a large amount of Zerg activity in their hive clusters! Prepare for an assault!"
"Talk about no time for recovery." Neo muttered to herself.
This time, the Zerg waves brought in even more air units as more Mutalisks were present as well as the addition of Broodlords. But like before, they were held off though the Protoss were suffering more casualties as more Zealots fell in battle.
The screen then pans back towards the Warp conduit as it becomes a gate again. Seconds later, multiple void rays began warping into the battlefield as well as numerous Zealots could also be seen. One of the Void Rays looked much more customised with its orange appearance as well as a much sharper appearance.
"Oh! Void Rays have arrived to help!" Penny points out as everyone nods at the sight of those starships.
"This should give them more time to hold them off until the archives are done." Pietro acknowledged.
Like before, the camera zoomed in into the bridge of the orange Void Ray to show a Protoss pilot in a suit with a fancy head crest while his eyes glow yellow. Around him were Protoss crew members who were busy readying up the ship.
He then began to speak stoically despite the whole last stand thing.
"Our Void Rays are ready to do their part! Disengage prism inhibitors and concentrate all batteries on the hybrid!" The Protoss pilot made his introduction.
"Like before, may I introduce you to Mohandar, leader of the Nerazim. He is centuries old and still can kick butt despite his age. The Void Rays he brought to the battlefield will make work of those armoured Hybrids."
"Sounds like you admire him." Raven asked as RGQC just nodded.
"In a way, yes. Mohandar took control of the Nerazim when their original leader, Matriarch Raszagal was mercy-killed. I admire his wisdom; it was also because of his guidance that he helped mentor the next Matriarch."
"Mercy killed?" Ruby asked as QAI could be heard.
[Raszagal underestimated Kerrigan years back in an event known as the Brood Wars. She in short got psionically dominated and is enslaved to the will of the Queen of Blades. Because of that and to stop Kerrigan from using her, Zeratul had no choice but to kill Raszagal to set her free from Kerrigan's grasp. It is because of this is why after Zeratul went soul searching for a while until he dedicated himself to finding the prophecy he sought, believing it could aid his people in the dark times to come.]
"Sheesh. Can't imagine how it must have felt like." Yang muttered.
"Yea and Kerrigan let him go as she derived sadistic pleasure from watching him live on in perpetual guilt from killing his Matriarch." RGQC added in as everyone could only wonder how Kerrigan was supposed to save everyone when she's this much of an ass.
"Well met, great Mohandar! For Aiur!" Zeratul's face could be seen as he greeted his fellow warrior. In response to that, Mohandar greeted back.
"For Aiur friend!" The camera pulls away from Mohandar's custom-designed Void Ray as he and his escort make their way to join the defenders. Zealots that were warped in could also be seen running off to join their brothers in combat as now Hybrid could be seen among the oncoming Zerg.
"Great… now they have Hybrids attacking them…" Torchwick lamented. Those Hybrids give him the chills and a part of him was glad that they don't exist on Remnant.
"I doubt I could even scratch those things with Hush in hand." Neo admitted as RGQC confirmed.
"Yup, your Parasol would just bounce off its shields. Or break upon contact with its carapace armour. So don't do it."
Everyone watched as Mohandar and his Void Rays moved into position before unleashing their Prismatic beam onto the Zerg and Hybrids. And much to everyone's awe, those beams were burning through the Hybrids' shields and turning their thick carapaces into nothing but ash under the unstable energies unleashed.
"Wow, those beams are effective." Jaune admitted as Nora could be seen brimming with energy as an idea came to her head.
"Oh! Oh! I got an idea!" A malicious grin appeared on Nora's face as she exclaimed. "Renny! You shall help me make a laser hammer!"
That however got a raised eyebrow from Ren. "How does that work, Nora?"
"I have no idea! But I want to make it!"
"Should we do something about what Nora is planning?" Pyrrha muttered as looked Jaune unsure.
"I think we should step in if she tries anything Pyrrha."
Everyone could only continue to watch as the brave Protoss warriors held off the tide of flesh and claws with everything they had. Yet they just keep coming as the waves intensify. Though they were held off with no issues thanks to the support of Void Ray's uttering annihilating any Zerg they fired upon. Only those who are heavily armoured like the Ultralisk or the Hybrids themselves could survive the concentrated beams if only for a couple of seconds.
"How long do you think they could last?" Velvet asked her teammates as all of them were unsure. Sure it looks like they were doing fine but this vision will show their end. Just how bad must it be that the Protoss would lose against them?
"I… do not know. We could be here for hours?"
"Is that any better? Just watching them continuously fight until the end?" Fox commented.
The slaughter continues as even more Protoss and Zerg die in large masses. So much in fact that the bridge-ways into the base were getting choked up with bodies. That didn't change much as the bodies were quickly burned away via Colossi to make it easier to shoot any oncoming Zerg.
"Jeeze! Just how many bodies are they throwing at the problem. Because this is getting ridiculous!" Yang began to grumble as RGQC shook his head.
"Numbers are meaningless then the Protoss are the only ones left. Besides, the Dark One has plans for the Zerg."
"You saying that sounds like something's going to happen to them." Blake murmured as everyone agreed.
As the battle for survival rages on, the very ground began to shudder and shake as the dark one could be heard again as he taunted the Protoss defenders for their futile struggle against him. "Every hand is turned against you. Even the ground beneath your feet carries the seeds of your destruction!"
"I was wondering how long before Nydus worms showed up." Raven admitted as her twin brother raised a brow at her.
"You were?"
"Yes. Only make sense to utilise them to breach the defences or serve as a distraction."
The battlefield shook for a little bit more right before multiple Nydus worms erupted from the ground with many of them near the archives. All of them began letting loose a tide of Swarmlings that began attacking everything near them as soon as they exited the Nydus worm.
"That's a lot of Broodlings." Emerald points out
[Not wrong to say, Emerald. Those are Swarmlings. A breed of Broodlings that don't expire.]
"Uh-huh. That just sounds even worse."
"Defend the vault with your lives brothers! It must not fall!" A zealot could be heard hollering out as several defenders broke off to defend the archives. Void Rays could be seen turning before focus firing on the Nydus worms while other Protoss Warriors pushed in to clear the place of Swarmlings.
The camera suddenly pans towards the Warp conduit as it appears out of the ground and begins reorienting itself.
"Mmm… More help has arrived it seems." Ozpin hummed.
"Just how many more reinforcements are coming RGQC?" Tai asked as the realm lord hummed.
"Just one more after this."
Nodding slowly from the realm lord's answer, everyone looked back at the screen. To see kilometre-long ships warping in and there are five of them. It only took seconds for the audience to recognise them. Carriers have arrived! And more Zealots and Immortals could be seen as well warping in.
Everyone could only be in awe as they watched all five carriers warp into the battlefield. Like all the other reinforcements, one of the carriers was noticeably bigger than the others. It then zoomed into the carrier and onto the bridge to show a female Protoss wearing a rather shiny suit sitting on the chair.
"And who is this uh… lady over here? Now that I think about it. This is the first time we've seen a female Protoss on screen so far." Qrow asked as RGQC nodded as QAI took over.
[This is Selendis. A Protoss Executor who is an accomplished warrior. Throughout her service to the Protoss, she has dealt with thousands of deaths, some of which were directed by her hands. In this fight, she leads a carrier fleet in their last stand.]
"Thousands of deaths?"
"Yup, don't mess with her or you will most likely die." That was all RGQC said as the screen continued.
"This is the hour of truth, noble templar! Let the enemy know the wrath of Aiur's champions!" Selendis gave a rallying speech as the screen pulled out to show hundreds of interceptors leaving the carriers and heading straight for the battlefield to support the front lines.
Zeratul's face appeared on screen to greet Selendis himself. "Executor Selendis! Unleash the full power of your forces! There may be no tomorrow!"
"En taro Tassadar, Zeratul!" Selendis greeted back as the fighting continued.
"Can you tell us more about the carriers?" Ironwood could be heard asking.
"Sure thing. These magnificent capital ships are known to inspire hope in the hearts of templars or fear in their enemies in battle. Armed with swift interceptors, they are a formidable force on the battlefield."
"Carriers are among the most powerful warships in the Protoss arsenal, and frequently take point in fleet manoeuvres in battle. Their interceptors, working together in squads of four or eight. These tiny crafts fire plasma charges that tear into fighters and even other capital ships. They can even use it to perform strafing attacks on ground targets." RGQC explained as Ironwood rubbed his chin.
"General?" Winter called out to him.
"Just had an idea in my head."
The fighting continued as even more Zerg poured into the defender's line and they began attacking from multiple directions at the same time. The Dark voice could be heard again in the background as he taunted.
"As I was your beginning - so shall I be… your end." As the Dark voice finished his taunting, a massive swarm of Zerg flyers could be seen on approach in the distance.
"Zerg flyers incoming!" Admiral Urun rallied his Phoenixes to engage the oncoming Mutalisk swarm as the carriers responded by unleashing their interceptors onto the swarm. A massive air battle followed that saw numerous Phoenixes crashing and burning. But for every Phoenix that was shot down, at least 15 Mutalisk paid the price in the process.
"Pew! Pew! Pew!" Nora was the only one having fun watching the massive air fight that was going on. Others were rooting for the Protoss fleet to win this engagement.
"I'll give where credits are due. They do take out many of them before dying." Ironwood hummed as everyone watched as a Phoenix could be seen flying in reverse while still blasting the Mutalisk that was chasing it.
"Yet it was for naught," Ilia mumbled to herself. Would this be what happens if Humanity and Faunus kind were to tear each other apart instead of focusing on the Grimm? She's aware that the older the Grimm gets, the more intelligent it grows. Would they encounter one Grimm intelligent enough to lead a massive pack at one point in the future? Or would a mutation happen that results in more horrifying types that not even Atlas could handle?
Those thoughts alone made Ilia shudder in terror.
Brood lords could also be seen in the air unleashing their Broodlings at the Protoss defenders and that required Void Rays or Phoenixes to deal with them. The situation forced the Protoss defenders to spit up and cover all three entrances at the same time.
It was clear to everyone here. The Protoss would eventually be overrun, but for now, they still hold on tightly and keep them at bay. With the Phoenixes disabling the hybrid threat and High Templars unleashing their Psionic storms on large swarms of Zerglings.
The lines hold. For now.
It got to the point that Several High Templars sacrificed their lives to become Archons to support the front lines, and they alone began shredding anything biological enough to get hit by their Psionic shockwave attack.
The fighting continued for several more minutes when the Dark voice could be heard again. "You have no place to hide and nowhere to run!" He taunts as even more Nydus worms erupted from the ground itself and began spewing out Swarmlings into the base itself.
"Honestly, all hell's breaking loose already. Still amazing that they still can hold on till now. I doubt the Kingdoms or even Atlas could hold on as they do." Torchwick pointed out as Neo agreed.
"If the kingdoms begin to fall, I doubt even we would get out of there alive. Nor find a place to hide from them."
"Yup…" Torchwick agreed as something interesting began to happen. High Templar began exiting the Archive as the battle raged all around them.
As soon as the last High Templar left archives, it began to slowly compact itself right as it retracts into the ground. It then sealed itself into the ground as cheers could be heard in every Protoss warrior. For they knew, they succeeded and the hope that a future race might be able to use it against the Dark Voice.
That very same feeling could be felt by everyone in the theatre room. Cheers that they did it could be heard as now they have hope.
"They did it!" Ruby was one of the first to break the silence as she raised a fist into the air.
"Yea!"
"Woo hoo!"
"Hurra!"
"And now it is time for them to fight till the end." RGQC muttered to himself as the screen zoomed towards one of the Battlelines with Zeratul. He had seen in many worlds and stories of people making their last stand against an unending foe. Many of them were for naught much to his sorrow.
This vision was technically one of them. But with Raynor witnessing it, he can change that. The same feeling the realm lord hopes in guiding his guest to change their fate in the future. But they are not ready yet.
For now.
Zeratul yelled out, noticing that the vault had successfully sealed itself into the ground. "Brothers! The vault has been secured! Pull back to the inner defences! Let the Hybrid and their thralls come to us!"
"Understood great one!" Various Protoss warriors responded as many of them pulled back to reinforce the second layer defence. Which so happens to be filled with the brim of photon cannons. Only the air force remained behind to buy time.
"Why are they pulling back? There's no need for it." Jaune pointed out as RGQC explained to JNPR's leader.
'Normally you will be correct, Jaune. But why stick to the lower parts of the base after they succeeded in protecting their main objective, which was the archives? The better option now is to pull back to the higher grounds and regroup. That also allows them to focus on defending on only one side, and not defend all three bridges. Which would require more effort to hold."
"RGQC's right Mr Arc." Ironwood agrees with the realm lord as he explained. "It is better for them to regroup right now. The oncoming waves are intensifying quickly. I doubt that they could hold them back on three fronts. Better make it one to focus their full attention on it."
"I still have much to learn on tactics huh?" Jaune seemed slightly saddened as Pyrrha stepped in.
"Yes, you do Jaune. But I believe in you. We all believe in you." All those who knew Jaune nodded their heads in agreement as the screen resumed."
As every single land Protoss warrior made their retreat to the higher grounds, the air fleet lingered behind to cover their brothers and sisters still fighting. Phoenixes led by admiral Urun could be seen scouring the air of Zerg flyers while Void Rays could be seen burning down major threats like Broodlords and hybrids that were now coming in large groups.
Interceptors from carriers could be seen blasting everything and every single Zerg that tried to rush up the ramps as the lower level of the base defences began to rapidly fall apart since the defenders evacuated to the higher grounds. The warp gates that were once used to funnel the Zerg were beginning to fall apart from Ultralisks which were now showing up more often, began ramming it or Hybrid Reavers who began ripping it to pieces with their claws and tendrils.
The camera then pulls away from the battle raging on in the now abandoned lower sections of the base and pulls back to the warp conduit as it brims with power.
"Who's the last reinforcements we will be seeing?" Kali wondered as RGQC had the biggest grin on his face.
"The Hierarch himself who is the absolute leader of the Daelaam now arrives in their last stand."
"Hierarch?" That was what was on everyone's mind as RGQC explained.
"Think of it like a king or emperor. They lead the Protoss race under his rule." RGQC read their minds as he shrugged while the screen continues.
As soon as the warp conduit reorients itself into a gate, our dear audience could see several additional Phoenixes could be seen warping in. That was followed by Void Rays and Carriers. But what follows puts everyone in awe at the sheer size of what warped in last.
An approx 3 kilometres long 1-kilometre-tall starship could be seen warping in with its three 'wings' in a triangle formation connected to the core of the main starship. Its size alone made the Phoenix look tiny and it was so large that you could see its shadow as far as the eyes could see.
"So big! I want it!" Nora suddenly exclaims after recovering from the sight of the mothership warping it. Chatter soon exploded within the audience as Penny asked.
"Spectacular! What is it RGQC?"
"That is called a mothership. And it is a mighty Protoss support vessel and is one of the most powerful warships in the Protoss arsenal. They also served as flagships in battlefields."
"That thing is massive! By Ohm." Weiss was speechless and who could blame her? The size alone makes it astonishing and that same thought was shared by her older sister.
"That… we agree sister. I'm speechless…"
"I say that I want one!" Yang adds in.
"I think it by itself can hold off any Grimm attacks…" Ironwood muttered.
"Ditto." Ozpin agreed.
Once the mothership had finished warping in, a new Protoss face could be seen appearing at the side of the theatre screen. Wearing a very fancy and shiny robe covered in gold, he announced his presence.
"I'm guessing that fancy fellow is the Hierarch?" Qrow asks as RGQC nods.
"May I introduce you to Hierarch Artanis. Leader of the Daelaam. A renowned warrior who seeks to unify his beleaguered people, and will let nothing stand in his way to restore the glory of the Protoss."
"Is he a bad person?" Blake wonders as the realm lord shook his head.
"Him bad? No. Artanis is one of the most reasonable Protoss you can find." And with that, the screen continues on.
"This is Hierarch Artanis, commanding the Shield of Aiur! Our matrix-fields are within range! Engaging mass recall!" As soon as Hierarch Artanis announced himself, tens of Zealots, stalkers, immortals and even colossi could be seen teleporting in out of thin air much to everyone's surprise.
"Whoa! Where did they all come from?!" Coco asked, clearly surprised as to the sudden ground force appearing out of thin air.
"Mass recall. An ability to teleport any Protoss to the Mothership's location."
"That's so cool!" Ruby cheered out.
Hierarch Artanis began to give one final rousing speech for all Protoss warriors to hear. "My brethren, hear me! For there is little time left. All that remains of our race, our civilization, are those that stand beside you now. Trust in each other. Strike as one will! Let our last stand burn a memory so bright, we will be remembered forever! En taro Tassadar!"
And the response was massive. Every single Protoss warrior fighting their last battle, from the Zealots to the crew members on the mothership itself let out their own battle cry in response to their Hierarch's.
"En taro Tassadar!"
"We keep hearing this phrase from them. What does it mean RGQC?" Cinder asked while everyone else was distracted by what they'd witnessed.
"Well Cinder, it means 'in honour of'. It is their way of honouring their dead heroes in their culture. Several examples include Khas, Adun and Tassadar. All these Protoss were highly regarded and respected by both Khalai and Nerazim. Thus earned their place there. We could go into more details for each hero, but it will take too much time. Let us continue." RGQC points at the screen.
The Shield of Aiur then began moving as it, much to the audience's surprise, projected a field that cloaked everyone and everything underneath it. That includes the wall of Warpgates blocking the entrance into the upper levels of the Protoss base.
"It's projecting a cloaking field?" Penny made her observations as QAI could be heard.
[At the heart of each mothership is a huge khaydarin crystal infused with an incredible amount of psionic energy that quickly dissipates after being discharged in the gaps between the vessel's wings. This dissipating power is absorbed by the wings and projected as a cloaking field that covers a wide area around the vessel. The mothership itself does not benefit from said field, but it renders nearby Protoss forces, structures, and allies invisible to the naked eye.] QAI gave an information dump as everyone could only nod in awe.
Though the hope everyone felt from their Hierarch's rallying speech was soon overturned when the Dark voice could be heard again. Most likely because he got sick of how long the Protoss defenders were not dying yet.
The screen pulls away from the Protoss defenders and deep into Zerg territory. And what they saw erupting from the ground itself made them all pale. Three Omegalisk erupted from the ground one by one. Each towering over everything in sight. Even other Ultralisk looked tiny compared to it.
"Holy hell! Those Ultralisk are huge!" Sun yells out.
"They have that?! By the brothers!" Glynda lost her composure and muttered in horror at the size of those things.
"What are those things?!"
"Those are Omegalisk. Their strain is in the same vein as the Ultralisk, but substantially larger."
"Substantially larger is an understatement," Robyn uttered.
Dark Voice then taunts his foolish creations. "Foolish, prideful children...There was one among you who could have jeopardised my great plan... but in your recklessness – you mistook her for the true threat!"
It took only seconds for every single Protoss warrior to realise who the Dark voice meant.
Kerrigan.
All of their eyes could only widen in the realisation that they'd just killed their salvation. Zeratul, who was still alive, could only mutter in horror. "The Queen of Blades... how could we have known?"
But it was all for naught as the waves of Zerg and Hybrid intensified even further than before and, in the air, the situation was even worse than before. Several squid-like Zerg slightly smaller than an Overseer could be seen moving into the battlefield. And they began expelling some sort of slime at such a long distance onto the Protoss starships.
"Gross! Did it just puke on them?" Emerald asked as RGQC shook his head. Also disgusted as he explained.
"Yea… Those are called Corrupters. They have sacs that produce and store parasite spores, an ink-like substance that disrupts matter at a molecular level. If any vehicles or personnel get doused with this compound, they become very vulnerable to attack as the atomic chains that kept them together became brittle." RGQC took a pause.
"In short. Enemies take more damage if they are hit by that substance expelled by Corruptors. They do attack their targets with acid projectiles or straight-up ram and bite their targets if they get close enough. Corruptors are also quite hardy for a flyer unit despite looking like an inside-out squid."
"Eww. Weaponised barf." Coco covered her mouth to hide her utter disgust at what she just heard from RGQC. Others could only agree.
"Yea… that's actually it. It's gross and it sticks to clothing before destroying it." The realm lord added.
"How did you know about that?" Ozpin raised a curious eyebrow.
"A million or so years back, I was still young and decided to experiment upon it. Let's just say another servant of mine decided to dump the substance on me as a joke. Much to her delight and my horror." RGQC deadpanned.
"What happened next?" Mercury asked next. Curious as to what happened afterwards.
"I'm not saying anything else about what happened next," RGQC growled as the screen continued.
Even more fighting began to break out throughout the base as even more Brood lords could be seen unleashing their attacks from a distance. Banelings could be seen rushing toward the Warpgate walls and were either destroyed before they got close or they reached their target as they slammed straight into the structures blocking their path. They were quickly followed by either Ultralisks or Hybrid which began to chip open the blockage and even managed to open it up barely before dying. A probe could be seen warping in another gateway after the previous one was destroyed.
The air situation is not doing any better. With large swarms of Mutalisk and Corruptors in the air, several Void Rays have either begun taking hull damage or have already fallen. Hundreds of Phoenixes have already perished in this fight alone.
"I don't think they could last any longer at this rate," Sun muttered to himself as Neptune sarcastically commented back.
"What gave it away?"
Phoenix could be seen doing their best to lift as many Hybrids into the air for the Void Rays to take out. Slowly by slowly, the Protoss are running out of reinforcements to counteract the ever-pouring tide of flesh and claw. Yet, they fought on with the hopes of taking as many Zerg and Hybrids with them.
It's only thanks to the presence of the Shield of Aiur and its Rift Beams that they were holding them back. Even then, there are just so many Zerg that it forces the Shield of Aiur to pull off one of its abilities as the inner shields temporarily deactivate themselves, right as the khaydarin crystal could be seen emerging on top of the ship itself.
A massive black hole then appeared on the field and swallowed up anything that was in its vicinity. Every single Zerg and Hybrid tried to escape from its grasp but they were dragged by its gravity well into it.
"Whoa. What is that RGQC?" Yang asked in surprise. So did everyone else.
RGQC didn't say anything but QAI did answer her question. [What you saw was the Mothership's ability called Vortex. Vortex is an ability that absorbs nearby units, allied and enemy alike, into it for a duration. The mothership will not be absorbed by it and when the Vortex ends, all affected units reappear around its location unharmed.]
"How did they do that? The technology the Protoss possess is sometimes known for defying the laws of space and time itself. Them using a vortex to temporarily trap their enemies is one of their uses." The realm lord explained.
Many Colossi could be seen waiting for the Zerg and Hybrids to emerge from the Vortex, and when they did, they were reduced to dust by tens of thermal lancers firing at once as well as Void Rays scorching the ground they stood on. Even then, hundreds of them were still alive and they punched through the defensive walls and a massive engagement began.
As for our dear audience, all of them knew that with this breach in their defences, all of them pale in shock and fear. Every single Zerg and Hybrid in the vicinity began flooding through the beach that was made. It reminded them that Grimm are ants compared to what they'd witnessed right now.
And to see that every time one Zerg or Hybrid is killed, another 100 more replace it. That amount was truly terrifying.
And to see the Protoss defenders losing control of the situation quickly just from one breach shows that even someone as advanced as the Protoss were, it won't be enough when the enemy drowns you in a tide of endless bodies.
"They have breached our defences! We must hold brothers!" A zealot yells out as every single available Protoss rushed in to stem the tide. Even Zeratul was in on the action. However, the amount of Hybrid pouring through the breach was immeasurable and they were beginning to take heavy casualties just holding them back.
Zeratul could be seen slashing the head off one Hybrid Reaver before he teleported and shoved his warp blade into another Hybrid's skull. Though that thing was still alive as the Reaver grabbed Zeratul off its face and crushed his body with its hands. Zeratul, in agony, lets out an agonising scream.
Everyone in the theatre room could only wince as they heard Zeratul's bones breaking from the pressure and watched as the Hybrid tossed him directly at a nearby Protoss structure so hard that it caused a dent in it.
"Zeratul! No!" Ruby cried out in horror as fellow Protoss warriors could be seen rushing towards Zeratul's side.
"Great one!" All nearby Protoss warriors called out to him. But even then, they couldn't do anything for the dark prelate. His body is broken beyond repair as Zeratul uttered his last words in remorse. For his people didn't act sooner against the dark one.
"If only we had acted sooner…"
Zeratul's eyes closed for the final time and his body began to collapse into nothing but dust. And as if to rub it in further. A single text appears on the theatre screen.
Dark Prelate Zeratul has died in combat.
"He's gone…" Jaunes eyes were wide as plates as the dread kicks in full gear. Others were beginning to tear up.
"By the brothers. That's a brutal way to go…" Ilia had to admit. Being crushed to death sounds incredibly painful.
"That's not how I want to die… If ever." Torchwick could only take his hat out.
"Then how will you want to die then?" Raven challenged the crime lord as he gave his answer.
"Surrounded by wealth and no one to hurt me or Neo." Torchwick declared.
"Dark Prelate Zeratul has fallen! Avenge his death brothers!" A High Templar uttered out as he cast a psionic storm while the fighting continued.
In the air, there were so many Mutalisk and Corruptors that what remained of the Protoss air fleet was struggling hard to hold them off. Especially Admiral Urun and his Phoenix fleet which was beginning to get overwhelmed by hundreds of Zerg flyers.
Even then Admiral Urun's personal Phoenix looked battered yet he kept on fighting until it took a direct hit to the cockpit from a Zerg projectile. Admiral Urun's Phoenix then began to fall fast towards the ground as his face appeared on the screen.
Admiral Urun made a final declaration before his Phoenix hit the ground.
"There's just...too many of them…"
Seconds later, his Phoenix soon hit the ground and exploded in a fiery blaze before Zerg swarmed over it like moths to a flame. And like Zeratul's death, a text appears on the screen itself while everyone tries their best to absorb the fact that they witness Admiral Urun's death.
Admiral Urun has fallen in battle.
"At least his death was quick and painless." Ren could only close his eyes as Nora clung to him for comfort. It was at first all fun and games at first, but witnessing so much death had shaken Nora to her core.
"Yea…" Weiss admitted as she lay her eyes on Ruby who was actively weeping while her mother was doing her best to comfort her. Even so, it was clear that Ruby's mother was barely holding it together. Something about what she saw had reminded her of something.
Ironwood and Winter could only remain silent and offer Admiral Urun a military salute. Velvet looked terrified as she could be seen huddling herself up while the rest of her team struggled to keep their cool. Even Sun's team were beginning to look frightened and depressed at what was happening.
Even the Villains like Cinder, Mercury and Emerald were scared shitless at what was going on and who could blame them?
"Admiral Urun has fallen brothers! Fight to the last brothers!" A Dark Templar could be heard calling out as one of them sliced off a Hydralisk head only to be swarmed by Zerglings.
The skies were so thick with Zerg that even the hundreds of interceptors from the Carriers weren't enough. Several Void Rays have already begun to fall from the constant attack from both Mutalisk and Corruptors. That and the Hybrid Destroyer were also launching their Psionic attacks from the ground up.
That proved too much for everyone as the breach became even worse than before as Zerg and Hybrid poured into the base. Every single Protoss warrior is trying to hold the line and frankly, it's not enough. They're losing.
There are just too many of them.
Mohandar's Void Ray could be seen unleashing its prismatic beam on any Corruptor that was close by. But his ship was both covered in Zerg goo and chunks of it were damaged and it looks like it would fall apart anytime soon. The audience soon got a horrifying sight of multiple Corruptors charging in and slamming against Mohandar's Void Ray.
The camera zoomed into the Void Ray to see every single crew member doing what they could. But Mohandar just sat on his chair and accepted his fate. Another explosion rocked the bridge as Mohandar closed his eyes for the final time and calmly stated.
"I return...to the Void."
There was no regret or shock in his tone. Just acceptance. The camera zooms out to show Mohandar's Void Ray exploding in a hue of orange-yellow. And like with the other two before him, a text appeared on the screen.
Dark Prelate Mohandar has fallen in battle.
Ozpin could only close his eyes. He'd lived and fought through the great war on Remnant. But what he'd witnessed here made what had happened back look like nothing. The number of deaths that were going on screen must be immersible.
"Was the great war this bad Oz?" Tai asked the headmaster who shook his head.
"No. This was far worse than anything back home."
"There was no shock nor despair in his voice. Just acceptance." Penny muttered out. While she can't feel emotions like her friends can due to being an Android, Penny can see the current status of everyone in the room. And it's bad. Even her father looks despondent about the whole scene happening.
RGQC's lips were shut while observing the screen. He has seen this hundreds of times already. Yet the pain of witnessing such a powerful race die in an undignified way rubs him the wrong way. Yet he understands that reality is cruel.
"Dark Prelate Mohandar has fallen! Keep fighting! For Aiur!" A Zealot cried out only to get crushed by a Hybrid at this point. The battle on the ground was lost and they were beginning to get overrun. Only a few Void Rays, most of the Carriers and the shield of Aiur are left to control the air. Even then, with the loss of Dark Prelate Mohandar and most of his Void Rays, they lost their means to eliminate any armoured opponents with ease and it shows.
Large numbers of Corruptors could be seen spewing their slime all over the carriers and the Shield of Aiur. Others were ramming the ships and began chewing on them while Mutalisk in large flocks blocked the skies in a never-ending swarm that began to overwhelm the interceptors that were created by the carriers.
With the ground pushed further into the Protoss base, many Hybrid Destroyers began attacking either the interceptors engaging everything they could or they attacked the Carriers directly. All while the ground-based Zerg and Hybrid Reavers pushed onwards and wiped any remaining Protoss that got in their way. Stragglers of Zealots, stalkers, Immortals and Colossi were all hunted down to the last.
Selendis's carrier began to look even more banged up with the amount of damage taken as hundreds of Mutalisk and Corruptors attacked it with no mercy. And with most of her interceptors destroyed. And with most of her carrier fleet also going down, the camera zoomed into the bridge of Selendis's carrier.
Inside, Selendis could be seen on her feet coordinating every she could do left. But even she could see the writing on the wall. This was her end. And her crew knows it as well. Another explosion rocked the bridge as she looked down and begged for forgiveness.
"Forgive me great Tassadar...I wasn't...strong enough."
The camera zooms out to show another massive explosion rocking Selendis's carrier as it began to lose its light and the whole ship began to fall out of the sky. It soon crashed and exploded in a fiery glow as the text appeared on the screen.
High Executor Selendis has fallen in battle.
No one in the audience could say anything after witnessing Selendis's carrier exploding when it hit the ground. To see how they fought the last stand against many of the Dark Voice's minions, but it only delays the inevitable. And to witness most of the heroes either begging for forgiveness or in remorse hurts everyone even more.
Now only one last resistance remains. But the Shield of Aiur still fights on. Everyone could only watch as its shields went down from the constant bombardment from the ground and air. Thousands of Zerg descended upon the last resistance that remained while the Shield of Aiur fought with everything it had left. Engagements could be seen on the Mothership itself as Overlords began arriving and dropping Zerg onto it. Zealots and crewmen of all types could be seen with their psi-blade making their last stand as even more explosions rock the mothership.
The camera moves to the Mothership's bridge in which Hierarch Artanis could be seen among the fighting, wielding two psi-blades, everyone watched as he slew every single Zerg alongside his brother and sisters. But it was for naught as another explosion rocked the ship as a call could be heard.
"Hierarch! The core is going critical! It's going to blow!" A crew member says as even more explosions could be heard on the ship itself.
Artanis's eyes were wide, while they did manage to hold the Zerg off the bridge, with the Shield of Aiur's core going critical, he knew this was their end. But he could only wonder one thing in despair and remorse.
"Kerrigan... how could we have known…"
Artanis could only close his eyes as the camera zooms out to show the entire Shield of Aiur having multiple massive explosions rocking the ship before one final one tore the entire mother ship into pieces. Its burned and shattered hull crashed onto the ground with burning wrecks the only thing remaining.
Hierarch Artanis has fallen in battle.
No one could say anything, they had just witnessed the last of the Protoss heroes die in a fiery blaze.
"Is it over yet?" Ruby whimpered in fear as Summer was also in a pretty bad state. This alone forced both Tai, Qrow, Raven and Yang to do their best to comfort both of them.
RGQC could only shake his head. "No, it has just begun."
A small whimper could be heard coming from Velvet as the screen continued. But there was no sound.
With the Hierarch dead. The Zerg Hybrid army ultimately wiped out the last remaining Protoss from existence. And with the Protoss gone, the screen fades to black only to light up again to show a massive Zerg hive that had Hybrids among them.
Suddenly, the Hybrids began channelling something and the next thing the audience knew, every single Zerg near them began dying in masses, their essence absorbed by every hybrid nearby, their purpose fulfilled.
"What what?! What's going on?!" Mercury called out as RGQC answered him.
"The Dark Voice only wants his hybrids. The Zerg have fulfilled their purpose in eliminating the Protoss and thus outlived their usefulness."
The Dark voice spoke as the camera pans over the sight of Zerg dying in masses. "As I was your beginning - so shall I be... your end." The screen then darkens before showing a Twilight world as the Dark voice could be heard again.
"Your light is expended. It is finished." The world then loses its light right before a shockwave eliminates all light in space. Leaving only darkness behind. Seconds later, two red glowing eyes could be seen staring at the audience which sent chills up their spines.
Those eyes then closed as the lights in the theatre room came back.
As the lights came back on, RGQC understandably looked concerned for his dear audience who was still dead silent after witnessing the end. The realm lord could only stand up and ask everyone.
"Uhm… Are you guys ok? I think it's best for you all to take a break before continuing. And no buts!"
He only got nods as everyone slowly and silently got off their chairs as RGQC took out his tablet and read through it.
"Oh, if you want, you guys can go to the training room. Lily is there with her mom alongside Alpha. And in fact, they're having a spar over there. I bet some of you would like the opportunity to watch their fight."
"That… sounds great." Yang gave a small smile as others nodded in agreement.
"Good. You get yourself sorted up. We can take a day's break before we resume. No doubt you all need it. As for me, I got a white-haired wizard who became realm lord to catch." RGQC hummed as he summoned a black-gold mechanical hammer as Nora could be heard awing at it. He then stuck his hand through a portal summoned to his side as if he was trying to find something.
"Before we go, who is this realm lord you are looking for?" Ozpin then asked as RGQC had a frown on his face as he took a second to glance at the portal his hand was in.
"Ah. He's… an interesting fellow. Brutally honest whenever he speaks. Part of the reason most realm lords don't really like him that much. That and he tends to do pranks to entertain himself at the cost of others. And speaking of which… Got that little shit!" RGQC's lips formed a grin as he yanked his arm out.
And as his arm exits the portal, A man could be seen yanked out of the portal. His choice of clothing is a white robe adorned with feathers and long white hair that appeared to shimmer in colours of the rainbow under any form of light. In his hand was a staff as tall as he was and he was also attractive as hell. For a man.
"Ah, Merlin. I was wondering where you were. You were usually sneaky enough that QAI didn't catch you. And here I thought your Clairvoyance would have alerted me that I will find you." RGQC's final words were noticeably strained as he held up the wizard by his robes.
"Ah yes! Hello RGQC it's good to see you again! Can you let me go? You caught me, didn't you?" Merlin gave a worried smile as RGQC just shook his head.
"Oh, I will. Once I bash you a couple of times with this hammer. You won't mind, wouldn't you?" RGQC asked almost sweetly as Merlin noticeably paled. Before RGQC dropped him and began to speak darkly.
"I'm giving you five seconds to run."
Merlin instantly scrambled to his feet and ran straight for the portal he created as RGQC could be seen chasing after him with his hammer over his head.
"When I get my hands on your flowery ass, I'm going to hammer the shit out of you Merlin! Now stay still and let me hit YOU!"
"Oh no! You wouldn't hurt me like that wouldn't you RGQC?"
"Oh, you caused me one hell of a headache with the shit you pulled off! Let me give you some of my pain will ya?!"
Bantering could be heard between the individual called Merlin and RGQC before the portal closes. As for everyone, they were completely confused as to what they'd just seen.
…
"Well, that just happened," Coco commented on it as QAI could be heard.
[Master will be busy with Merlin for the time being. Do go take a break for the rest of the day. You all need it.]
And with that, everyone left the theatre room. To recover after witnessing the end.
And we are done! 16k words (Scratch that, 17k words now.) over here people! I want to make the mission for In Utter Darkness the best it could be and I hope to God, I pulled it off! Because holy hell! I'm tired at the end of this chapter! So let me know how I did it! I had to admit, I wanted to use his brutal ending speech instead of what I used in this story. But I decided against it as it would have ruined the moment if you were to ask me.
Before we end this chapter, I have some things to tell ya. The next chapter will be another intermission because it just feels appropriate at the moment. More interactions between our cast and High queen Belladonna. I also got an idea for a fight scene in the next chapter.
Next is that after the next chapter, High queen Belladonna will make her departure back to her Remnant but I may drag other 'guests' to the story for a couple of chapters and then send them back. Do let me know what you think of that idea. Also, Merlin's a realm lord. Have at it boys.
So yea, I have nothing else to say now. If you like my work and want to see more of it in the future, favourite and follow this work of mine. If you wish to say anything to me, good or bad. Leave a review. I will answer it if I feel it is relevant or if I want to address it.
Other than that, I will see ya guys in the next chapter soon.
RGQC out!
Also, holy fuck I wrote 40 pages on Google docs for this chapter!
