Oh man, is it time for the good stuff! RGQC here, and it's time for the big doge! Yes, my dear readers, it's time for the Odin to appear, and oh man, am I excited to have you guys read this chapter! Because I know some of you have been begging for this mission, and it's time to show our dear guests the big guns!
Also apologize for the day late upload. Got real life stuff like homework to handle.
But, like always, we got comments to address first.
Evilstatistic19: Here it is!
Ssgtsplatter: Yes, I'm back! I never liked the pressure placed upon you in this mission, especially on higher difficulties. Well, you'll just have to read on.
Zacker1590: I believe that Weiss can associate herself with Valerian once they get to know his wish to become a better emperor than his father.
Yolo27th: Well, I'm just following the cut scene, and they portray the Bucephalus, which they say is larger than the Hyperion. But looks roughly the same model-wise.
Goofy Imperial Menace: I haven't forgotten about them, but it's hard to find an actual use for them. Especially in this mission. Perhaps in future missions?
Dakzillaman: Glad you enjoyed it! It's good to be back, and I hope all future chapters are up to standard! Perhaps in an intermission, I could have them visit the zoos or something. For the last mission, yeah, that sounds like a good idea!
And we are done. I do not own RWBY or StarCraft. All these belong to their owners: RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth, and StarCraft 2 belongs to Blizzard Entertainment. I only own my OC in this story.
Now make room for the big dog!
Engine of Destruction
Hours passed, and soon, everyone returned to the theatre room to see RGQC sitting on a chair, petting an adorable large, fluffy bird-like creature with bright yellow feathers. It has large, emerald green saucer eyes on its face, surrounded by a large patch of white feathers and a dark-coloured beak, and on its arms were small wings with sharp claws on its hands.
Another noticeable thing was two antennae-like protrusions that began in yellow and ended in pink-coloured feathers. The same could be said for the tip of its tail feathers. The adorable bird started chirping happily as the realm lord had a goofy smile as he continued patting its head.
"You're adorable. But how did you leave your Zoo and end up here?" The realm lord cooed before asking as the bird sitting on his lap chipped happily before it turned its head towards everyone and adorably tilted his head. The reaction from everyone was expected of those who had a weakness to cuteness.
"It's so cute!" Ruby cooed as she zipped right in front of the realm lord before the bird blinked and chirped. That alone made several guests coo at how adorable it was, as RGQC had a soft smile on his lips.
"Ah, this adorable little birdy here is called a Rappy." The fowl chirped happily as RGQC continued explaining them in detail. "They originate from the planet Halpha, a unique world in itself, and they are docile animals that will neither attack friend nor foe. They are also social creatures and often spend time in packs. And while undisturbed by anyone, Rappies will lounge around, or they may even sing songs with one another." The realm lord smiled as Ruby gently petted its head as it chirped.
"I do have a wide enclosure where they live their lives freely and under great care from me and my appointed servant Koyanskaya in my realm. My sister adored them dearly, and so did I. Though, I still wonder how this little fella escaped its sanctuary." RGQC hummed.
The Rappy in the realm lord's hands began squirming out of its grip, and once it did, the adorable Rappy chipped as it curiously watched as every single audience sat down on their chairs before it suddenly jumped and sat on Weiss's lap.
"Aww… look at the little birdy…" Yang cooed before Weiss gently patted its head with a smile while Nora pouted.
"Aw. Why didn't it come to me? I want it to sit on Renny's lap!"
That made the realm lord chuckle. "I wouldn't worry about that, Nora. I have an entire sanctuary full of Rappies. Perhaps after this viewing, you could visit them with your friends?" RGQC smirked as an enthusiastic smile grew on Nora's face.
"YES! Renny! After this, let us go see those birdies!"
"I don't mind that," A small smile grew on Ren's face. "Jaune?" He then asked as Jaune's eyes met his team's eyes. And with a nod of approval, the leader of JNPR agrees to the proposal.
"Sure, we can do that."
"Count us in!" Ruby smiled as several others agreed they should see adorable birdies after this viewing!
"Wonderful! Also, I think you and Nora will enjoy this viewing, Ruby." RGQC smirked as the little rose tilted her head in confusion.
"What do you mean?" She then asked, except the realm lord placed his finger on his lips and spoke
"If I were to tell you, it would've ruined the surprise but trust me, you and Nora will love it. And if nothing else, we should start where we left off hours back." RGQC smiled. "Alright, QAI, do what you need to do."
[Understood.] RGQC's trusty AI spoke before the theatre lights dimmed as the screen lit up.
Hyperion Lab - 2 Hours Later
The screen read before it lit up, showing Raynor staring at the artifacts, thinking about Valerian's proposal.
"Right off where we left off, huh?" Qrow mumbled as everyone's interest grew further, as Valerian explained.
"The artifact fragments you've been collecting are of Xel'Naga origin. With them, I can construct a device that will reverse the infestation that transformed Kerrigan into the Queen of Blades."
"Reverse the infestation done on Kerrigan?" Ruby muttered. "That's possible?"
"Apparently it is, but…" Yang uttered with a bad feeling crawling up her spine.
"That means they must bring this device and use it on Kerrigan. But that alone is not going to be easy." Blake then explained.
"AH, HAH! I KNEW IT!" Nora began to giggle loudly. "I knew they could be used for something!"
"Well done on guessing them, I suppose…" Robyn murmured as others had to address with her
The camera then cuts to Raynor as the Prince of the Dominion continues. You're the only man who's been close to her and lived to tell the tale." Raynor looks down as the prince continues talking. "You know her tactics, you know her strategies."
Raynor then brought his hand up, and in it was a photo of pre-infested Kerrigan while Valerian continued talking. "- and I know you'd risk anything for the chance to bring her back." And with that, the screen darkens.
"Please don't tell me what I think he's going to do." Summer was one of the first to realise what Valerian meant.
"Oh boy, that's gonna cause problems with everyone else…" Tai was next while Raven remained silent, though aware that such actions as working for the Dominion would bring up protests and unrest among Raynor's crew.
"This will not go well." Penny proceeded to point out as unease grew on everyone's faces. They don't know what deal Raynor made, but everyone has a bad feeling about it.
The screen soon lit up to show Matt and Tychus on the bridge waiting before the doors opened, and Raynor walked in. And once he did, his second went straight to the point of his actions.
"Sir, tell me you're not seriously considering this deal with Valerian!" Matt expresses his worry and disbelief as the camera cuts to Tychus, who adds in.
Most of the audience remained silent and watched the chatter on screen with questions still on their minds but were sure they would be answered. The major one is what deal Raynor made with Valerian.
"Sounds like a golden deal to me, Jimmy. Kerrigan turns human, takes a bullet between the eyes... You can put your past to rest and still make one hell of a payday!" Tychus says as the camera cuts to Raynor, who prefers not to think that far ahead.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Tychus…"
Immediately after that, Matt angrily argues how suicidal his commander's plans were. "Assaulting Char is a suicide mission! You'd be putting all our lives on the line just to get your girlfriend back!"
"WHAT!?" Those who were aware that Char's the primary hive planet yelled out upon the realisation that Raynor intended to work with the prince to attack Char itself and de-infested Kerrigan.
"That's crazy, man!" Sun voiced out, as did the others who wholeheartedly agreed with the monkey Faunus. "Why the hell did he or the prince think that was a good idea!"
"There's a high risk of failure even if that's the case, and I'd advise them not to pull such risky plans!" Ironwood points out with vigour as Winter silently nods her head. Though, she had to admit that if Ironwood wanted her to march into hell, even if Winter disagreed, she would do it without hesitation.
Though she doubts the rest of Raynor's crew would take this well.
"This is bigger than all of us, Matt! It ain't about me. This is the only real chance we're ever gonna' get. And I'm takin' it." Raynor snapped back before turning his head towards his partner when he spoke.
"Even so, that is a hell of a gamble with the odds stacked against him heavily." Torchwick observed. Sure, he has gambled many times as a criminal mastermind for profit, but even he's not stupid to go into something this suicidal.
Like, what the hell is he thinking?
"Sure, we've done some high-risk 'jobs' in the past, but this is madness." Neo couldn't help but voice her thoughts on the matter.
"So which is it gonna be, Jimmy? We bringin' Kerrigan back... or puttin' her in the ground?" Tychus asked, but Raynor wasn't having any of it.
"That's for me to decide. You've both got a lot of prep work to do - get to it!" Raynor points out as the screen darkens.
"This is not going to go well with everyone…" Mercury dryly comments while Emerald rolls her eyes and scoffs.
"What gave it away?"
The screen lights up again to show Raynor in the cantina drinking his cup as his jukebox plays in the background. There were also disgruntled murmurings coming from the crew in the cantina as some could be seen glancing at the commander with confusion or disapproval of his actions.
"It appears that the news spread fast." Ozpin hummed as he sipped his hot coco. The Headmaster wondered if Raynor's plan would work and if his theory that the Zerg are linked to Kerrigan and her disinfestation would cripple them was true. He could understand the Commander's desire to take the chance despite the massive amount of protest he was receiving.
Though honestly, Ozpin would have preferred an alternative than one that's a huge gamble with both the Zerg and working with the Dominion.
Without even caring, Raynor sipped his cup as he looked up to see Tosh watching everyone above as he did, and yet. The Specter leader didn't seem that bothered that Raynor's working with the Dominion prince. Or at least, that's what everyone could guess from his expressions.
And before long, he spoke loud enough for Raynor to hear and even attracted some attention to himself. "I hear you've been makin' friends. That Valerian's tougher than he looks. He had to survive all alone while his daddy was off conquering the Sector."
"What does he mean by that?" Velvet wondered before RGQC could be heard explaining it.
"Prince Valerian did not have a good childhood, and his relation with his Father is… tense, to say the least. That is all I'll say for now." RGQC explained as his explanation earned the realm lord some frowns at how vague it was. But it did shed some light on the Prince of the Dominion.
Tosh's words made Raynor raise an eyebrow before he drank his cup and looked up once he heard the UNN news network begin playing.
- Zerg advance slows - General Warfield credited with successful Zerg strategy - Kyla Velassi released from jail to entertain troops - Dominion security: Raynor's rebellion still a threat -
Nothing much of interest caught the audience's attention besides that it appears that the actress lady somehow got released from jail to entertain the troops and how it seems that the Zerg attack on the Dominion has slowed.
Kate could be seen on screen as the UNN News Network began playing. "This is Kate Lockwell for UNN. Tonight, top Dominion military analysts are still confused - and relieved - to report that while attacks do continue throughout the fringe, the main Zerg push into Dominion space seems to have slowed."
"Does that mean Kerrigan's up to something again?" Ruby could only point out as Jaune added his thoughts.
"That sounds likely. Then again, I don't think we had an idea what Kerrigan's up to besides hunting for the same artifacts Raynor's collecting for Valerian."
A sense of unease grew on everyone's face as they could only glance at each other. None were comfortable with Raynor working alongside the Dominion against the Zerg. Though they understood that if they were to succeed, lives would be saved, and Kerrigan would be free from the Zerg's control.
Though, the memory that she must live or the galaxy is doomed still lingered in their thoughts.
Kate reported before Donny appeared on the screen. "That's wonderful news Kate. Our boys have really taken the fight to the Zerg!" Donny says with a hint of enthusiasm at the Dominion's efforts against the Zerg before Kate speaks again.
"Of course, Donny. But there's also a sense that whatever the Zerg were after... they either got it, or they've given up on it. We may never know."
"You heard it here first." Donny concludes, and with that, the news ends as Raynor finishes the last of his drink before leaving the cantina as the screen darkens.
"You know, a part of me worries how the others will react to their commander making a deal with the son of their hated enemy…" Sun mumbles as Velvet whispers out.
"Unlikely, they will take it well."
"I hope Mr Raynor has it under control." Kali lets out a sigh as her husband rubs her shoulder.
The screen lights up again to show Raynor walking into the Armoury as there's a banshee now in it, and Swann can be seen visibly pissed and on the edge of outrage. Not that anyone could blame him. Noticing that his chief engineer was upset, Raynor made his way before asking his friend.
"So... what's the problem, Swann?" Raynor asked as if nothing was wrong before Swann told him everything.
"What's the problem? You only signed us up with our mortal enemies! Every one of these boys lost family or friends to Mengsk! We're gonna be sittin' on a powder keg pretty soon. Can't you see that?" Swann expressed his worry over his commander's decision.
"And it won't be pretty when it blows up. I hope Mr Raynor can temper their doubts over his decision." Summer sighs as Glynda agrees.
"That I concur, Mrs Rose." Ozpin's second spoke as she sipped on some tea. "No doubt this would cause unrest and potentially a mutiny if it goes unaddressed."
However, Raynor fully intends to stick by his decision and responds sternly. "It ain't up for discussion, Swann. I gotta do this."
Swann stared into his commander's eyes momentarily before he sighed and relented. "If you feel you gotta do this, then do it." Swann breaks eye contact as he turns his eyes away from his commander, while Raynor closes his eyes for a moment before bringing them onto the console.
"I hope he's making the right decision…" Ilia mumbled.
"Sometimes, the hardest choices require the strongest wills, ladies and gentlemen." The realm lord suddenly spoke as the Rappy jumped back on his lap. "And as cynical as it may be sometimes, you gotta work with those you fought against to save the world." The audience were rendered silent for a moment to think upon the realm lord's words.
Seconds passed, and soon Ironwood was the first to speak. "Clearly, but I suppose it's understandable why Mr Raynor took it when others would be so against it," Ironwood sighed. "But he needs to assure his men, or else there will be problems in the future."
"Also, Raynor purchased Nyx-Class Cloaking Module for his Spectres! Now they can remain cloaked indefinitely as the new combat suit has a psi enhancer dedicated entirely to maintaining the ability to remain cloaked. And this alone allows the spectres to effortlessly maintain their cloaking field and channel their psionic energies elsewhere."
"Oooh…" Ruby was in awe the whole time as she and everyone else listened as the realm lord explained what Raynor bought when an idea reached her head. "Oh! RGQC, can we try out these suits when we have the time?"
Ruby then asked as RGQC smiled. "Sure, but I'll have to change the equipment in the suits to rely on an energy source instead of psionic stimuli to cloak, as none of you have psionic powers." The realm lord explained as everyone nodded.
With nothing else of interest, Raynor left the Armoury and soon returned to the Laboratory, and upon entry, Ariel walked towards him and asked a question burning within her mind.
"Jim, I hear that we're working for the Dominion now. Is that true?" The scientist asked as Raynor confirmed her question.
"We've got a chance to take on Kerrigan and maybe, just maybe, set things right. The devil himself could offer me that deal, and I'd still take it." Raynor said as Ariel had a worried look on her face.
"That's what worries me. Just don't lose sight of who you are - that's what's important. A lot of people are counting on you and... I'm one of 'em." Ariel said as Raynor's eyes found themselves on the artifacts as he watched them silently.
"I can confirm what Airel said is true. There are many individuals in the multiverse that lost sight of who they are and the very reason why they're fighting. Let this serve as a lesson to everyone that it's easy to jump off the slippery slope and become even worse than whoever you're against." RGQC explained as silence overtook everyone, even more so when the realm lord gave most of his attention to those who were part of the White Fang.
A subtle hint to those who are observant of what the realm lord thinks of the Fang's actions.
Letting a breath out, Raynor asks. "Valerian reckons this thing can...de-zergify Kerrigan once it's rebuilt. Do you think that's even possible?" He asks as the camera cuts to Ariel as she explains.
"From what I've managed to piece together, it might be. The artifact seems to absorb Protoss energy. If the same holds true for Zerg…" But before Ariel can continue explaining, the camera cuts to Raynor, who interrupts her gently but firmly, much to the audience's surprise.
"Just yes or no, Ariel. I need an answer!"
"Hey… there's no need to be rude about it…" Neptune voiced his disapproval as his partner joined in.
"Yeah, I know she can be a nerd, but must you do that to her? Completely unnecessary if you were to ask me."
"I think all the stress and tough decisions Mr Raynor had made are starting to affect him…" Penny observed as her father agreed.
"That may be the case, Penny. I wonder how he's going to handle them…"
"Hopefully without a mutiny happening…" Mercury then muttered to himself.
Understandably frustrated that Raynor interrupted her, Ariel explained tersely. "If I said 'no' would you even believe me? The only person who can really know what the artifact does is the one who made it - and they're long gone...I hope."
"Yeah. Sorry bout that…" Raynor let out a sigh as Ariel just silently nodded her head. Feeling the awkward situation, Raynor moved his attention to the Research Console as Pietro took out his tablet and let out a beep while he and his daughter peered into it. All while, the camera pans towards the Protoss containment tank, and it doesn't look like it changed much.
"Soo… what does it say, Penny?" Nora asked before taking a sip of soda in her hand.
"Ah, it appears that All of the containment and reinforced structural integrity theorems Stetmann has developed from studying this crystal are starting to bear fruit! He figured he could contain energies that once required huge machines. Or even manufacture structures capable of hot landings from orbital origins with acceptable stresses, it seemed!" Penny explained as which earned raised eyebrows from everyone as Pietro added in.
"It also appears that he didn't understand how the Protoss could possess technology of this magnitude and not rule the known universe. And he speculates that they simply don't want to. Lastly, he figured out where the excess energy was going in the last entry, and it's feeding them to the Hyperion." Pietro pauses for a moment to catch his breath.
"It also appears that the crystals were subtly helping to power the ship, balancing out some of the more ragged systems. Humorously enough, Stetmann mentioned that Swann is excited that the ship is running so well, but he has no idea why. And Stetmann is not going to tell him." Pietro concludes as QAI chose that now was the time to speak.
[As of now, Mr Raynor has chosen Tech Reactor. With the addition of Protoss plasma shields, Stetmann has enabled the ability to fit the tech lab and the reactor into a single structure add-on. With this new add-on, it will allow any Barracks, Factories or Starports to produce two advanced units at the same time.]
"That sounds incredibly useful!" Penny smiled with the same enthusiasm she always bears.
"Indeed, it does." RGQC smiled in agreement.
[In addition, all future Protoss or Zerg Relics will now be sold to the Moebius Foundation as Raynor has all the relics he needs.]
"So basically, all future relics that are collected will be sold to Moebius for profit. I guess I can work with that. Even if they're under that fancy prince…" Roman hums as he takes a sip of his drink while Neo agrees.
"That does make sense, and more profits as well. Who knows archaeology is a good business." Neo chuckled to herself.
Upon completing all he needed to do with the Research Console, Raynor soon made his way out of the Laboratory and found himself back on the Hyperion bridge, and upon entry, Matt turned and faced his commander with his hands to his back.
"Sir, We're receiving a transmission from the Bucephalus. Prince Valerian's holding on the communicator for you." He said before Raynor gave him a nod while Matt returned his eyes to the star map. With a transmission pending for him, Raynor approached the communicator.
"I wonder how this is going to go…" Ozpin hummed before sipping.
"Frankly, Valerian's over his head and is taking a massive gamble over here," Glynda muttered as she shook her head. "I wonder what he's willing to lose to de-infest the Queen of Blades…"
"We'll eventually know." Ozpin ended it off.
Once Raynor reached the communicator and activated it, Valerian could be seen on it as he spoke enthusiastically. "Ah, Commander Raynor. I thought we might discuss the expedition to Char. Now –" But Raynor cuts the prince off with his question as the screen shifts to him.
"This is a dangerous game you're playing, kid. What's your stake in all this?" Raynor then asked as Valerian seemingly avoided the question altogether.
"Jim. I really think we should –" However, whatever Prince Valerian was about to say was interrupted when Raynor cut off the communicator for a second as the camera pans to show him giving an amused smirk.
Seeing how that pretty boy tried to avoid the question entirely, only for Raynor to cut him off, made most of the cast laugh at his actions. More so of the younger audience, while the older ones noticed that the prince of the Dominion tried to use a common politician move by avoiding the question and instead discussing their next move.
Only that Raynor was not having his nonsense.
"Politicians, always trying to avoid the question." Torchwick could not help but chuckle when Raynor cut off the Prince like that.
"Good to see one getting kicked down like that." Qrow couldn't help but agree with the criminal mastermind while Ironwood visibly shook his head before sighing.
"This reminds me of dealing with the councillors at times," Ironwood grumbled as Ozpin wholeheartedly agreed. The councillors of Vale can be… frustrating to work with at times, especially when they refuse to cooperate or answer his questions.
Seconds pass, and Raynor re-opens the channel to see Valerian giving the death glare to him over his actions.
"I can see why my father wants to kill you."
Upon witnessing Valerian's response, even more laughter broke out from the audience as even the realm lord could be seen chuckling as well.
"Ah… That scene never gets old."
Ignoring Valerian's comment, Raynor asked again. "I asked you a question." The rebel commander said as it cut to the prince.
"Everyone wonders if I will be as good an emperor as my father. But I want something more. To prove that I will be a better emperor. And a better man." Valerian explained his aspirations for helping Raynor that not even the audience could deny his ambitious goal to be a better man than his father was admirable.
"To become better than his father… Truly something to admire about this boy." Ozpin muttered as nods of agreement went around.
"Well, I hope he is once this is over." Velvet was next to add her thoughts to the matter.
"And from what our spooky spectre had mentioned earlier, I can see why pretty boy wants to be a better ruler than his father." Coco mutters next.
The screen then shifts towards Raynor, who dryly snarks. "That shouldn't be hard."
That made the less mature audience laugh that becoming a better leader shouldn't be hard, thanks to Mengsk being a monster and letting billions die when he unleashed the Zerg on Tarsonis all those years ago.
The screen then shifts back to Valerian as he continues. "If I reform the worst mass murderer in history, make her human again... teamed with the famous outlaw Jim Raynor... it's all the proof I'll need." The prince concluded, as Raynor noted, that he was being used like a tool.
"So I'm just a cog in your machine." Raynor concludes before the prince counters.
"If it gets you what you want, do you care?"
Deducting that he doesn't really care as long as Kerrigan's back human and alive to save the galaxy, Raynor uttered. "Guess I don't."
"Yeah, I guess he doesn't care as long as Kerrigan's safe to protect the galaxy from whatever plans of that dark one…" Qrow muttered.
"But is it worth the risk to do that?" Robyn could only ask as everyone could only be uncertain about how this would work out.
With his talk over, Raynor closes the channel and turns to see his second walking up to him before expressing his doubts over this alliance with the Dominion prince. "Sir, I have to question your objectivity on this alliance. It's obviously a trap!"
Yet, Raynor did his best to assure his second that he got this. "I got it covered, Matt. I'm askin' you to trust me." Raynor explained, only for Matt to begin arguing back.
"We were starting to make real progress against Mengsk. If we go after the Queen of Blades, we're throwing that away!" Matt points out before Raynor argues back, while the audience doesn't like where this is going.
"The situation is getting worse," Penny observed as Yang sighed.
"Wonder what gave it away."
With uncomfortable looks growing on their faces, the audience could only silently watch on as more and more of Raynor's crew voiced their disapproval of this alliance with the Dominion.
"This is bigger than Mengsk," Raynor responded tensely before it became soft. "Matt, if we succeed on Char, we'll save billions of lives. Billions." A short pause went by before Raynor continued.
"Mengsk can wait."
However, Matt was now pissed over his commander's decision and voiced his displeasure. "I didn't sign up for this." This, unfortunately, proves to be the breaking point for Raynor as he begins yelling, much to the audience's surprise.
"You signed up to follow my orders! If you can't do that anymore then get the hell off my ship!"
"Sir." Matt could only tersely say as Raynor turned away from Matt before pinching his nose.
"Man, things went from zero to a hundred quickly." Sun could only utter as his partner agreed.
"Definitely."
"I hope this won't affect them for long…" Ruby sadly says as Summer pats her head.
"Don't worry, dear. I'm sure they'll work it out eventually."
"Yeah, I hope so." Yet, Adam could be heard vocally scoffing in the background. Honestly, what can he expect from them? It's like having the White Fang working with a Schnee suddenly. Of course, there will be massive protests and unrest if this arrangement happens.
With a frustrated sigh, Raynor turned his eyes towards his partner, who had a concerned look on his face. And after stepping forward and away from his second in command, Raynor found himself in front of his partner as he uttered his worries. "You sure about this? You gotta know Mengsk is gunnin' for ya. He'll hit you in a way you'll never see coming."
"I… concur. I still suspect the prince is hiding something from everyone." Ironwood narrows his eyes.
"But what exactly, sir," Winter added as nods went around.
"I can handle Mengsk, Tychus." Still frustrated about what happened, Raynor assured his partner while on edge. Yet despite all that, Tychus still wants to ensure his friend.
"Just watch your back, ol' buddy. That's all I'm askin'."
But Raynor clearly did not appreciate that Tychus thought that he was not keeping an eye out for any potential attempts on his life from Mengsk. "I said I can handle it! If you don't want to be a part of this, you can take your thirty percent and go."
The audience could only give each other concerned glances as the realm lord sighed.
Tychus opened his mouth briefly before closing them as Raynor turned his eyes on the star map. "Matt, bring up the map. Time, we leave." Raynor ordered while Matt still looked visibly tensed and nodded his head.
"Yes, sir." Raynor's second-in-command said as he pressed the button on the console before the camera panned so the audience could see the next destination. And while nothing much has changed since the last mission, there's a new one in the form of the Sigma quadrant. Which looks like some sort of station? Dunno, the audience couldn't tell.
"Oh! A new location called Sigma quadrant? What kind of name is that?" Ruby tilted her head in confusion as RGQC stood up and explained.
"All I can say for now is that Sigma quadrant is a largely unexplored tract of space that Raynor will eventually need to head there. That's all I can say for now." The realm lord then grinned sheepishly alongside a shrug before settling back down.
"Cool, I guess?" Yang muttered before turning to her partner. "What do you think, Blakey?"
"Could be the last location for the last artifact fragment, I think…" Blake could only scratch her ears with uncertainty before the screen resumed.
Frowning his eyes for a second, Raynor selects the planet of Valhalla before Matt explains slowly. "The decrypted Adjutant contains records proving Mengsk ordered the massacre on Tarsonis, now we just need to broadcast those records. Mira Han gave us a tip that might help." A sly smirk soon grew on Matt's face.
"The dominion is unveiling a new war machine called the 'Odin' on Korhal. If we hijack the Odin we can use it to gain access to the UNN studios and broadcast the records of Mengsk's war crimes." Matt paused to wipe the smirk off his face.
"The Odin is currently in the testing facility on Valhalla."
"What is the Odin, and is this why you say that Nora and I will enjoy it?" Ruby could only ask, but even she couldn't deny the growing excitement about this Odin is and why she would love it. At the same time, Nora was giving a crazed grin at the potential possibilities of what could be.
"Should we be concerned?" Weiss could only raise an eyebrow wearyingly at her partner before Jaune added in.
"Knowing what we have seen so far, Weiss and from what RGQC had just said to us. Probably." Jaune could be seen eyeing Nora as Ren nodded and pulled out a rope just in case.
"I have this." Ren said as the screen continued.
"Matt, set a course to Valhalla. It's time we steal Mengsk's pet project." Raynor ordered before Matt nodded his head.
"Understood, sir." And thus, the screen darkens.
"All I can say for this mission is that it's time to let out the Big Dawg!" The realm lord began chuckling with childish glee while QAI could also be heard.
[Valhalla is a top-secret Dominion research centre hidden on a small moon orbiting Sigmaris Prime. Hundreds of vehicles and weapons systems have undergone final testing here, including the Viking multi-role combat walker and the Minotaur-class battlecruiser.]
"Valhalla is the Dominion's testing facility… How interesting…" Pietro hummed with interest as he rubbed his chin.
"I wonder what it will be?" Penny added in with enthusiasm as the screen lit up again.
The screen lit up again to show Raynor and Matt watching as the screen displayed two marines escorting someone else with a minigun in hand as they gazed into the facility. It took a while, but they soon recognised the man carrying the minigun as Tychus himself.
Coco couldn't help but let out a whistle upon witnessing such a marvellous gun in Tychus's hands. Sure, it's way bigger than Gianduja, and she would no doubt have trouble carrying that monster in his hands. But Coco couldn't help but be happy at a fellow minigun enjoyer.
"Well, would look at that beauty." Coco grinned as Ruby could be seen vibrating at the huge machine gun in Tychus's hands. And so was Nora, who couldn't help herself and yell.
"BIG GUN!"
"Please calm down…" Ren muttered.
"NEVER!"
"Why is Tychus on this mission?" Ilia wondered aloud as everyone shrugged before looking at the realm lord for answers. Except he just shook his head with his finger on his lips while pointing at the screen.
As the screen continues, Matt can be heard speaking. "Our team's in position, we're ready to steal the Odin." Tychus and his marine bodyguards soon leave as the screen cuts to show Matt and Raynor watching while still inside the Hyperion. "Are you absolutely sure about this, sir?"
Matt then questions his commander's decision to have that convict participate in this mission before Raynor assures him. "Yep. Tychus is definitely our best man for this kind of job." Raynor paused momentarily as the screen cut closer to his face as he looked at his second.
"I suppose it would make sense for someone of his skills to participate in a mission to steal this super weapon…" Weiss sweat dropped, as did the others.
"Either that, or he's sick of waiting around and playing with his thumbs or something." Torchwick jokes.
"He does get a little excited in combat, we're gonna need to keep up with him once the fightin' starts." Raynor explained as the screen showed a large Dominion base with siege tanks and even battlecruisers in the skies before Matt could be heard explaining.
"If he can actually commandeer the Odin, it's vital that we take out all the Dominion bases in the area." Matt paused before continuing. "Hopefully we can block all transmissions long enough for him to do that." The screen then cuts to Matt, who continues.
Upon realising that Raynor would have to deal with battlecruisers in some of the Dominion bases and knowing how large those ships were, everyone couldn't help but gulp at how Raynor and Tychus were supposed to take out all the bases.
"This will not be easy." Fox utters as everyone can only nod in agreement while others, like those from Atlas, are thinking of potential ways Raynor could deal with these battlecruisers.
"Sheesh, how many bases do they need to trash?" Yang then asked as the realm lord shrugged before casually answering.
"Eh, at least five of them, nothing too hard."
"That's a lot of bases. I hope this superweapon of theirs will help them." Sun commented next as RGQC simply grinned.
"Oh, trust me, it will, and I'm sure a couple of you would like what's in store."
"We can't risk word of this getting back to Korhal." Matt said before Raynor chose to ask a question.
"How much do we know about this 'Odin'?" Raynor then asked before the screen cut to show a MASSIVE walker that made the Thor look like a smaller brother of it. The scientist nearby was like an ant to the bloody machine to drive the point that this war machine is humongous. The screen continues as the screen then shows it unleashing four cannons on its back on some targets and obliterating them whole, all while Matt explains.
"It's an experimental super-heavy siege walker designed for prolonged front-line combat. Very powerful."
Everyone couldn't help but gawk stupidly at the sight of the big dawg itself, and it awed Nora and Ruby so much that they passed out from such a beautiful boy unleashing so much power!
"Ruby!" Ruby's teammates cried out as she seemingly slumped unconscious on her chair with a grin, as did Ren when Nora passed out.
"Nora!" Nora's teammates cried out while RGQC laughed at what had happened.
"Don't worry about them, just give me a moment, and I'll help!" RGQC continued laughing before he stifled them into giggles. "Oh man, I knew this would happen, and so worth seeing it." The realm lord chuckled before pulling out a bottle that reads 'smelling salts' from his jacket.
"Let me help get them back up with this stuff," The realm lord said as he opened the bottle, and it had an immediate side effect as every single Faunus in the theatre room winced as they covered their noses and did their best not to gag from it.
"Agh! What the hell is that thing?! It smells awful!" Sun was the first to complain as he had his hands over his mouth. The monkey Faunus's comment made the realm lord blink as something he'd forgotten reappeared in his mind.
"Oh right, forgot Faunuses have sensitive receptors," RGQC muttered before he snapped his finger, and a mask appeared on everyone's faces except Nora and Ruby. "There, this should help you out. And as for your question about what this is, care to help, QAI?" RGQC glanced to the side as QAI spoke.
[Affirmative. The bottle master is holding contains Smelling salts. A chemical compound used as a stimulant to restore consciousness after fainting. They are typically made with diluted ammonia, water, and ethanol. They may also be a mixture of ammonium carbonate and perfume.] QAI explained as Blake grumbled.
"Ammonia. No wonder that thing burns."
"True, but it's a useful item from my world when you need to get someone up as soon as possible," RGQC explained as Pietro glanced at his daughter, who nodded and recorded the recipe for this smelling salt. "Now then, they might react poorly to smelling this up their nose, so can someone please hold them down just in case for me?"
The realm lord asked as Yang and Summer gripped onto Ruby while all of JNPR did the same for Nora. With a thankful nod, RGQC waved it over Ruby's nose, and the reaction was almost instant as Ruby's eyes shot wide open as she began gagging from the smell.
"Oh, Ohm! What is that?!" Ruby heaved as the realm lord couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh, that was smelling salts, and you fainted earlier. Now pardon me." RGQC then did the same and waved the bottle full of smelling salts over Nora's nose. And Nora's body tensed out as she began screaming.
"AH, OHM! WHAT IS THAT THING?! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!" The ginger's sudden reaction made all of JNPR flinch before gripping her tightly as she began to struggle relentlessly. Several of the audience silently chuckled at Nora's overblown reaction as Yang giggled.
"It can't be that bad, right?"
"Try it out then, Yang. I dare you." RGQC had a daring grin on his face while Blake was giving her partner a deadpan look.
"You can do it later, Yang. Not when I'm near it because that smell stings my nose."
"I concur!" Ilia threw her thoughts in as all Faunus in the theatre nodded in agreement. Even Adam had to admit that this smelling salt stings like hell begrudgingly. RGQC simply closed the bottle before returning to his seat.
"Now, back where we left off before Ruby and Nora passed out from sheer awe, which I can't blame them for." The realm lord chuckled as both girls had blushes on their cheeks as chuckles went around. And with that, the screen continues.
"Great, even Tychus can't wreck it then." Raynor sarcastically comments as the screen changes to show Tychus in front of the facility's base with several marines and medics by his side. The next second, an explosion rang as the explosive charges on the gate detonated.
"Here they go-" Matt said, and even before the clouds of dust settled down, Tychus charged in with his marine and medic escorts as he could be heard on the radio yelling out.
"Go! Go! Go!" He yelled out as the screen darkened.
"Going in loud, huh?" Torchwick hummed. "I suppose with him, sneaking in quiet's not an option. Then again, nor will stealing the Odin."
"Reminds me of how we used to take things quietly before that change…" Neo whispered softly enough so only Torchwick could hear as she glared behind Cinder's head. She still hated how that woman threatened her boss into working for her.
"Why do I have the feeling someone's glaring at us?" Mercury mumbled as he and Emerald glanced at each other before looking at their boss, who still had a dry look.
The screen lights up again to show Tychus and his men rushing headfirst into the facility. "This ain't a stealth mission any more ladies. Bring it loud and fast!" Tychus yells out before he hears one of the marines say, 'Hey!' But he doesn't give a damn.
With guns blazing, Tychus puts his chaingun into play and easily shreds numerous Dominion security guards. The sounds of hissing could also be heard as every single marine took a shot of stim pack and got to work as they cleared a path through the facility.
Leaving only blood and dead bodies in their wake. And traumatised scientists and engineers fearing for their lives.
Everyone could only wince at the bodies dropping into the floor as they watched Tychus and his man push further into the facility. "Sheesh." Sun winched as they watched Tychus step over a dead marine body as if it was nothing. "He really couldn't care less about anyone, huh?"
"Coming from him, yeah. It's to be expected." Neptune chimed in as they continued watching.
Soon, Tychus and his escorts came across a Zerg sample in the tank as Stetmann appeared on the screen. "Sir? You seem to have found something very interesting there. If you can bring me a sample in the lab, that would be great!" The scientist said as Tychus completely ignored it as he rushed forward.
Glancing at each other, one of the marines ran forward, and with his rifle, he smashed the tank open as a medic quickly snagged a sample. The rest rushed forward to catch up with the Convict, who was too busy having fun letting his chaingun rip and tear through dozens of guards.
As Tychus pushed forwards with Raynor's men right behind him, one of the Dominion marines yelled out before taking a bullet to the face. "Activate the auto-turrets!" And soon, two Perdition turrets suddenly erupted from the ground. Much to the audience's surprise, they appeared from the ground and let out a wall of flames that forced everyone back.
[Perdition turrets, an alternative choice Raynor could have chosen. This turret fires a deadly wall of flame ideal for holding off large waves of enemy units. The turret also conceals itself beneath the ground when out of combat, luring unsuspecting enemies into its field of fire.] QAI could be heard as those from Atlas were given an idea, what if they were to have turrets with the ability to hide underground?
Except for Tychus, who simply chuckled while firing his chaingun. "You ain't keepin' me from that monster!" The convict grinned as Raynor's men covered Tychus. They fired at anything that got in their way and eventually tore through the Perdition turret lines before heading into the main facility room that houses the Odin.
And even in its disassembled state, the Odin was so large in size that everyone was but ants to that war machine. More gunfire was exchanged between both sides, but with Raynor's ability to coordinate his men on the fly and ensure their health and Tychus's skills with the chain gun, all of the Odin's guards were eliminated, and all that was left of them were dead bodies and spilt blood.
It didn't help that Tychus was clearly having fun with his gun.
"Welp, there goes all the guards…" Qrow muttered before sipping on some water as Raven raised an eyebrow.
"Frankly, I don't see the problem with it. They were in the way and had to be silenced lest news got out that Raynor's men were stealing the Odin." The Branwen tribe leader explained as much of the younger audience were unnerved by her comments. Even her daughter wasn't sure how to feel about it.
"Leave no survivors? Sounds like what that crazy scorpion colleague of mine would do…" A frown grew on the Fall maiden's face at the thought of that psychopathic scorpion Faunus. Hopefully, her host would not bring him here for her sake. Cinder can tell that that psychopath would have the most fun here with all the blood split so far…
With the guards dealt with, Raynor's men spit up as they began typing on the nearby consoles to get the Odin assembled for the convict. "You sure the boss's right about letting that guy pilot the Odin?" One of the marines questioned before another spoke.
"Yeah, I wanna ride that thing!" Before one of the medics lets out an audible sigh before giving herself a facepalm at how immature the guys she kept alive can be.
"Ugh. Why can't they act like adults just this once?"
Soon, the sounds of machinery can be heard as the camera pans towards the Odin as it begins to be assembled in front of everyone's eyes. Ruby grinned excitedly, as did Nora, as both girls were unaware that they were drooling from witnessing such a magnificent machine be made in front of their very eyes.
"You know, seeing up and close makes me realise how big this machine is because, holy hell, is that a big boy." Coco couldn't help but grin at the size of the Odin while others nodded their heads in agreement.
"I concur." Weiss agrees honestly, while those from Atlas realise how much they could make some of their weaponry even more powerful to deal with the Grimm since the giant machine they had at home is puny compared to this experimental War machine. To be fair, the Odin is basically guns on legs in the bluntest of terms.
Upon the assembly of the Odin, it knelt down as the cockpit opened up for him. "Hot Damn! I can't wait to get inside that thing and tear this place up!" Tychus says as he jumps into the Odin's cockpit like a child with a new toy. And upon entry, the camera pans to show all sorts of controls within the Odin's cockpit as the convict could be seen pressing buttons.
The camera quickly pans out to show the cockpit closing and the Odin getting back on its feet. As soon as it does, Tychus begins marching the Odin towards the exit doors of the facility while Raynor's men scramble aside with haste like ants to prevent the Odin from stepping on them.
"Hold your position Tychus! Let us get a support force up there to cover you!" Raynor called out to his partner, but he got no response as Tychus directed the Odin to blast open the doors. And each thundering shot from the Odin tore tank-sized holes into the metal door as metal creaked under the intense heat and impact of the Odin's guns.
"Uhm, why isn't Tychus hearing Raynor asking him to wait?" Penny asked as she tilted her head in confusion.
"Did something happen to their connection?" Blake asked while both Ruby and Nora were just in a catatonic state from the sheer firepower the Odin brings out. Even more, so that it was obvious that the metal door was metres thick than the Odin punched through it like it was nothing.
"Well…' RGQC muttered as he glanced at the screen before everyone took the hint that they would explain it later.
The Odin's guns were so powerful that it only took four shots to obliterate the door entirely "Now that's what I'm talking about!" Tychus grinned on screen as Raynor cursed at his partner's lack of response to his orders.
"Dammit, Tychus! Stand down! Can you read me?!" Raynor asked as Tychus completely ignored him and marched the Odin outside of the facility while Matt then appeared on the screen to explain the situation.
"He's got it stuck on transmit, sir. He can't hear us at all. Defences are coming online at the Dominion bases." Matt explained before the camera pans to a nearby landing site that showed a Command Centre, Barracks, and Factory flying in as Raynor spoke.
"Wonderful. Get our base set up ASAP. We'll just have to follow him in and hope he doesn't get too crazy. Ah, who am I kidding…" Raynor could only mutter how this was gonna suck as all of Raynor's buildings reached their destination and lands. And once they did, the command centre unloaded SCVs which began building up as the screen darkened.
"That explains it." Ren dryly muttered as the team's redhead agreed.
"Yeah, and if Tychus can't hear Raynor at all…"
"That means they can't coordinate their attack on the Dominion, and they might have to follow Tychus's pace with the Odin instead," Jaune concludes. "Which isn't better now if I were to think about it…"
"It is likely Mr Raynor would have to keep up with Tychus to ensure he doesn't do anything risky." Glynda hums as Ironwood agrees wholeheartedly.
"I concur."
Everyone could only glance at each other with a mixture of nervousness and anticipation to see some action. No doubt the Dominion wouldn't allow the Raiders to steal such an experimental walker without a fight. And they would probably throw everything they could to stop them.
The screen lit up to show Raynor's base in action as the command centre became an orbital command. There are supply deposits and a bunker east of the base. In addition, a drop pod came down before it deployed a MULE, as SCVs could begin mining operations. While at the same time, the Marines and medics escorting Tychus earlier now were heading south of the base and near the Odin, which remained idle for now.
As if proving the audience's concern correct, there was a sudden alert pinging before Matt appeared on screen with a warning. "Sir, I'm picking up a Dominion battlecruiser on an intercept course with the Odin." Raynor second explained as the camera pans to show that a battlecruiser is indeed on a course towards the Odin.
"Uhm, does the Odin have anti-air capabilities?" Sun asked as Penny helpfully answered his questions.
"I am under the assumption that the Odin does possess the ability to fight air units! However, I do not believe it can deal with a battlecruiser alone. Mr Raynor would need to support it with additional anti-air support like Goliaths and provide the Odin with repairs from SCVs or a science vessel." Penny concludes as RGQC smiles.
"Well done, Penny, right out of my mouth. But do not worry, Raynor' will get some air support." The realm lord responded vaguely before sticking a thumb at the screen.
And as the battlecruiser drifts ever closer, Swann appears on screen with his familiar jingle. "Hey hotshot, you want these Wraith fighters now? They'll take down a battlecruiser easy. You can build more at a starport."
"Swann's back!" Yang cheered as the screen continues
And as Swann finishes what he needs to say, the camera pans to show numerous ships flying in while, at the same time, several missile pods opened up on the Odin as it began firing Hellfire missiles at the battlecruiser.
"Oh! So, these ships are called Wraiths! They look so cool!" Ruby grinned like a child in a candy store as the realm lord chuckled before signalling QAI to do the talking.
[Wraiths were the Terran's space superiority fighters before the Vikings existed. Despite all that, they are still effective against other aerial combatants and come equipped with Burst lasers for ground forces. However, the lasers lack punch. Another thing is their lack of armour which is mitigated by their incredible manoeuvrability and ability to cloak like Banshees.]
As if commanded, the camera pans back to the squad of Wraiths as they begin to cloak, engage, and unleash their missiles onto the Dominion battlecruiser. Explosions erupted around the battlecruiser as it began firing on the Odin as it was the only viable target to shoot at. Laser batteries rained down from the battlecruiser and onto the Odin, yet the War machine shrugged them off with ease, though the damage was starting to appear on the Odin slowly.
"Might want to get that patched up." Yang winced when parts of the Odin caught on fire from an explosion from a lucky hit from the laser battery. Though the battlecruiser wasn't any better, numerous fires and explosions engulfed it as some of its anti-air weapons began to fire erratically at the possible locations of the wraiths, which weren't letting up one bit.
"Oh… Sure, I'm against the Dominion but don't those ships have a crew capacity of around six thousand to eight thousand? That's gonna be a lot of dead people…" Neo grimaces out as the uncomfortable feeling of thousands dying at once on the battlecruiser grew.
"Yeah, but they have to kill everyone to ensure that the Dominion would be aware of the Odin's high jacking."
"Yeah, not a great way to see this…" Ilia blanched.
The initial battle between a battlecruiser versus the Odin and some Wraiths lasted for minutes and even added humour when a marine could be seen shooting his Gauss rifle up at the battlecruiser as if his bullets would do anything. Eventually, the battle ended when the Dominion battlecruiser suddenly warped away in retreat, much to everyone's surprise.
Noticing the sudden change in everyone, the realm lord chose to speak up. "It retreated to a different part of the planet."
"Isn't that a bad thing?" Weiss asked as RGQC shrugged.
"It's not like the Dominion could react or even communicate with each other." In shock at what he had just heard, Neptune spoke.
"Wait, what?" Then, RGQC's trusty Ai then addressed the brewing question before even the realm lord could speak.
[All interstellar communications are currently jammed in Valhalla. Therefore, it is impossible for the Dominion to coordinate the defences, and there will also be disbelief in the local Dominion forces believing that the Raiders are here due to its apparent secrecy.]
"That's…" Blake muttered before her partner finished her sentence.
"Convenient..."
"Yup!" RGQC cheerfully agrees as the screen continues.
With the battlecruiser threat dealt with, the camera pans back toward Raynor's base of operation, which has changed since the mission started. The major inclusion was that Raynor's Barrack, Factory, and Starport were now equipped with tech reactors that looked like someone smashed both addons into one. Which technically, they are.
In addition, a new structure the audience had never seen before was recently built, as several SCVs can be seen leaving the lines and straight for the Odin to repair it.
"Ooh. What's that?" Penny asks a question and RGQC helpfully answers it.
"Ah, that structure is called Shadow Ops. It appears that Raynor has the intention to recruit Spectres into this mission. I suppose for some covert action while the Odin obliterates everything with a single shot or something." RGQC muttered as he glanced to the side for some reason.
The screen resumed as Tychus could not be heard. "So what's the plan now Commander? Trash them bases right?" A beat went by as Tychus realised that Raynor was not responding to him. "Uh Jimmy? ...Pardner? Can ya hear me?" Tychus asked again as the screen panned over to show the Odin standing up after receiving repairs from Raynor's SCVs before Tychus decided that he was going to have some fun.
"Well if you ain't going to tell me not to have a little fun...I'm going to have a little fun hehe. Here I go!" Tychus grinned as the Odin was now moving to the first Dominion base. Raynor's men could be seen scrambling around just beneath it to support their ally in the machine.
As for our audience, they were in awe that the Odin curb stomped the first Dominion base as if it was nothing. The Odin's massive guns tore through pretty much anything it fired upon, and several of the Dominion's guards straight up refused to fight and instead chose to flee the scene. However, they were captured alive by Raynor's men intercepting them.
"Wow. That thing's dangerous…" Jaune was wide-eyed as those who chose to stand and fight were easily blown into nothing but red mists, and Tychus even had the Odin step on one of the bunkers and crush anyone inside it like they were nothing but ants.
This expectedly made everyone wince as blood and all sorts of matter pool beneath the Odin's foot as it moves on and obliterates the first Dominion base. "Yikes, they don't stand a chance…" Yang winced when Tychus used the Odin's guns on a poor medivac and reduced it to scrap in a single shot.
As for Nora and Ruby, they were still in awe at how effective the Odin's weaponry and armour were but were understandably squeamish by how Tychus was using it on the Dominion.
And once Tychus destroyed the first base, he appeared on screen again. "Man I need SCV's to fix some of this damage. Startin' to feel a mite sluggish." Tychus said on comms before Matt appeared on screen to question.
"Does he always talk this much, Sir?"
Raynor then appeared on screen to confirm his second-in-command question. "Yep, once you get him in a fight he never shuts up."
"Wonderful…" Raven sarcastically rolls her eyes.
"It can't be that bad, don't you think?" Tai glances at his first wife, who shrugs.
"You tell me."
Almost immediately after Raynor confirmed his second question, Tychus appeared on the screen again to talk. "Well now that's done with, I'm gonna take me a little break." He then took a short pause before continuing. "Good thing I brought me some liquid refreshment…" Tychus said as the sound of a can opening up could be heard.
"Bro even brought himself some drinks. I don't know whether to laugh or be confused about where he's holding them." Sun deadpanned as his team simply shrugged at him as the screen panned to show something cloaked on the move.
The screen glows blue as several cloaked spectres run into the second Dominion base, as do cloak Wraiths flying above and strategically taking out air targets. All while spectres can be seen infiltrating and picking off the defences individually.
As all that was happening, Tychus appeared on screen again as the camera pans towards the Odin, which was recently repaired, judging from the SCVs leaving it to return to base. With the sound of an empty can clinking on the metal ground, Tychus spoke. "Now that hit the spot. There's nothing like knocking back a cold one on top o' yer enemies' smoking corpses!"
And as more spectres ran past the Odin, Tychus reappeared on the screen with clear signs that he was getting restless for a fight. "I can't wait no longer! Here it comes!" The convict says as the Odin begins moving to the second base.
"Talk about impatience…" Robyn mutters to herself as Penny adds in.
"It is likely that remaining cooped up in the Hyperion made Mr Findlay restless and itching for action." RGQC could suddenly be heard chuckling to himself as he took a sip.
"Tychus is going for a walk. An enthusiastic walk…" The realm lord chuckled again, much to everyone's confusion about what he meant, as the screen resumed.
Back in the second Dominion base, much of it was in chaos as the Siege tanks that were present there to defend it were destroyed while Dominion men could be seen scrambling around in a panic. It was made even worse for them when the Odin showed up and began to blast everything and everyone into pieces without stopping. And much of the base's air support was removed from earlier thanks to Raynor's wraiths striking from the shadow.
Even if large groups of Dominion forces tried to organise a resistance against the Odin, Raynor's spectres were there to put a stop as some of them fired a special projectile from their rifles that detonated and released an ear-piercing noise that stunned caught in the blast as some poor marines found out before they take a bullet to the head.
That noise also had the side effect of affecting the Faunus watching as QAI quickly adjusted the volumes of those Ultrasonic Pulses not to harm the audience's ears. "What was that?" Adam winced as his fellow Faunus nodded their heads in agreement because that stings like hell compared to that stun grenade in the last viewing.
"Ah, right. Spectres can fire an Ultrasonic Pulse using some of their psionic energy at a specific location to stun anyone caught in the blast radius. Sorry about that." The realm lord glanced to the side sheepishly. "It is my fault I've forgotten about that ability…"
"It's alright, RGQC." Ghira accepted the realm lord's apology.
With nothing much able to stop the Odin, it went on a rampage for a while before Tychus appeared on the screen upon discovering something that caught his interest. "Ok, flashy red button what do you do?" Tychus wondered as the camera panned to show the Odin locking down in place before bringing its back guns forward. In a split second, the Odin unleashed its heavy artillery cannons on the Dominion's command centre.
"BOOM, baby!" Tychus uttered as the artillery cannons on the Odin's back obliterated the command centre in only a few seconds. And once the guns retract back, Tychus sums up what that button does. "DAMN! Now that is HOT!"
As for our dear audience, their mouths were wide open at the sight of the Odin unleashing its guns, and also, Ruby and Nora passed out again from sheer awe. Much to the realm lord's amusement, he took two smelling salts from his jacket and passed them to their respective teams.
"Yeah, that is hot!" Sun wholeheartedly agreed, as did the others, as team RWBY and JNPR woke their respective members as the screen continued.
With the second Dominion base destroyed, most of the spectres paused for a moment for ammo replenishment as one of them could be seen running past several poor scientists and engineers in the second base who were scared out of their minds towards the second Zerg sample in its containment and smashed it open with the butt of his rifle.
And upon its destruction, Stetmann appeared on the screen. "I have no idea what that is! Can you bring me a sample in the lab? Maybe something good will come of it!" The scientist said as the rest of Raynor's forces moved in to secure the location, with many of the survivors dragged off to a safer location so medics could check their health and bring them to a safer location.
"Aww… That's nice of them to take those guys away from the fight." Kali gave her approval while her husband simply grunted.
"They are non-combatants, after all, and I doubt Raynor would have them killed for no reason. They're only doing their jobs.
At the same time, one of the medics broke off and moved to take a sample that was free from its containment after a spectre smashed it open. Around this time as well, Raynor had begun on a new expansion while the Odin walked a bit further towards the entry of the third Dominion base as Tychus appeared on the screen again.
"Reckon you boys'll need some time to catch up. Good old Tychus be right here takin' it easy…" Tychus said as he let out a groan before continuing. "Just wake me up when you're ready - I reckon a small nuke oughta do it, hehehe." He chuckled as more Wraiths could be seen in the skies as spectres moved on to the third base.
"Besides his inability to stop talking after the fight, at least there's a break for Raynor to prepare his forces…" Coco muttered. It will be a while before they get used to Tychus talking this much.
"Well… at least someone's having fun with all this chaos." Weiss muttered before her partner began speaking with enthusiasm.
"How could anybody not be when controlling that awesome machine? I mean, yes, people did die and stuff, but still! It is awesome, and I want one!"
"And where are you going to- Oh." Tai interjects, only to remember that RGQC was here. And he probably has a copy of the Odin in his collection. Yup definitely.
Knowing what's on everyone's mind, the realm lord grinned. "I do have a copy of it if you want to take it for a spin."
"YEAAAA!" "GIMMIE!"
"NO! TERRIBLE IDEA!" "I MUST DISAGREE!" Chucking at the scene before him, RGQC signalled for the screen to continue.
The screen continues as siege tanks can be seen rolling in from Raynor's base as SCVs begin repairing the Odin while Spectres begin wreaking havoc from the inside with their sabotaging efforts. At one point, even Tychus appeared on screen to give some banter. "I see your little guys running around down there, Jimmy. Heh, they look like ants."
That comment earned chuckles from the audience as the Marines do look incredibly tiny compared to the Odin, and even siege tanks look more like children's toys to them. Things get even more interesting for the audience when the camera pans back towards Raynor's base, and they notice three more Shadow Ops.
"Uhm, why is there an additional three Shadow Ops?" Weiss was the first to notice as the audience glanced at each other with confusion before RGQC explained.
"All Shadow Ops buildings come prebuilt with a silo that can be armed with a tactical nuke. But they can only house one at a time, so if you want more nukes, you're gonna need more Shadow Ops buildings." RGQC explained as a couple of the audience let out audible gulps while others like Nora were getting giddy to witness more pretty explosions.
"Yess…. Boom time!" Nora cheered as the screen resumed.
The camera then pans back into the third Dominion base. Raynor's spectre can be seen sowing chaos as Dominion infantry ran around in a panic, and one of them even decided to call down a special gift onto a portion of the base.
"Nuclear launch detected." The alert rang out as more panic ensued for the Dominion forces in the third base, and as if reality just hated them, Tychus appeared on screen to announce his intentions. "C'mon, Jimmy! We got heads to break!"
"I think Tychus is a bit late on the head breaking." Fox uttered dryly as they watched as the Odin began moving onwards towards the third base.
Speaking of the third base, the tactical nuke the spectre called down landed, and with an explosion, a large chunk of the Dominion base was wiped from existence. However, the battlecruiser in the air was somewhat fine despite getting caught in the blast zone. However, that quickly changed when Raynor's Wraiths came in in swarms and pummelled it with missiles.
As for the Odin, it began to single-handedly plough through any remaining defences as much was already dealt with earlier by Raynor's spectres and siege tanks, shelling anything on the ground that could threaten the Odin. And the nuke as well.
"You want some of this?!" Tychus taunted as he had the Odin bring its artillery cannons online and began shelling the Dominion. It only took a couple of minutes, but the third Dominion base was eventually destroyed, with the Odin only taking a scratch of paint. Before Matt appears on screen, somewhat impressed by Tychus's skills controlling the Odin.
"Three bases down, maybe the convict has his uses after all."
"How many bases are left that need to be destroyed?" Ruby then asked before QAI spoke to answer her question.
"Two more bases remaining." RGQC said as nods went around.
"Y'know, I think I'll take me another breather. You better get some back up ready for me, Jimmy. You reckon these Dominion boys'll put up a fight this time? I ain't barely broke a sweat." Tychus said on the screen as a science vessel suddenly warped above the Odin and began using its Nano-repair on the Odin on the spots the SCVs couldn't reach to repair.
"Oh! Science vessel!" Penny observes as the camera pans away from the vessel and towards the swarm of Dominion fighters on the way.
"Oh, dear. I suppose that caught their attention." Glynda observed as Raynor's wraiths flew in with their cloaks active though the Dominion brought a Raven with them.
What followed was a battle in the skies as Dominion forces clashed with Raynor's Wraiths for control of the skies, and even the science vessel could be seen healing any damaged Wraiths that got close in the midst of the fight. Vikings and Wraths could be seen dancing around in a dogfight as some from both sides crashed onto the ground upon taking too much damage.
During that time, Raynor's spectres were also on the move and began nuking large segments of the fourth base ahead before the Odin made a move upon it. Several nuclear explosions rock the fourth base before Tychus appears on screen again. "Here we go. I'm hittin' my stride now!"
Talk about lighting up the experience…" Yang muttered as Blake facepalmed.
"Oh, for-" The cat Faunus then lets out a frustrated groan as the others before the screen continue.
And with that, the Odin began its march through the fourth base as it wreaked havoc on the already weakened lines. It was then that Raynor revealed his surprise forces consisting of marines, medics, goliaths, and siege tanks as they came in and supported the Odin in the destruction of the fourth base.
With half of it nuked to oblivion and its air forces tied and shot down by cloaked Wraiths, the fourth base fell swiftly as Tychus can be heard taunting away in the chat. "BOOM, baby!" Tychus comments as he unleashes the Odin's guns onto the remaining defenders and obliterates them to ashes and craters.
"Four bases down, one more to go, and the Odin will be secured." Ironwood hummed as Ozpin agreed.
"That is the case, friend, but I wonder, how will they bring the Odin to Korhal?" Ozpin then wonders out as that got everyone thinking. It wasn't long till Summer spoke.
"I'm sure they'll find a way to. They always seem to do it." And with that, the screen continues.
During that time, a medic could also be seen extracting the last Zerg sample as Stetmann appears on screen to comment on its retrieval. "I can't wait to dig into that. Scientifically, I mean. I'm not going to eat it."
Emerald visibly snorted at the scientist's comment before Mercury gave her a look. "What?" Emerald then asked, on edge.
"Nothing." Mercury then muttered before turning away and back on the screen.
The camera then pans away to Raynor's wraith fleet flying over the ruins of the fourth dominion base before the camera pans far ahead to show what was a different class of battlecruiser if one were to judge it from its appearance and the presence of twin rotary cannons at the front. And its unique appearance caught the audience's attention.
"Oh… what is that?" Sun was the first to speak upon witnessing the battlecruiser still docked.
RGQC then stood up and explained. "May I formally introduce you to the Loki, an experimental Super- class battlecruiser in the making on Valhalla, from the looks of it, it's almost ready for combat.
"Experimental is saying it lightly. That thing is massive!" Neptune points out as everyone has to agree. Sure, battlecruisers are quite big themselves, but the Loki makes them look like little brothers.
"And why are they heading straight for it?" Coco then asked as RGQC shrugged.
"All battle cruisers can fire a Yamato Cannon at its targets for massive damage. Though fire requires a huge energy reserve, it can one-shot many targets or heavily injure or cripple them with a single hit. Now the Loki has its own Yamato cannon brand that is even stronger than the original. Now imagine what happens should it fire on the Odin." RGQC points out as everyone gulps.
(Authors note, while in-game the Loki has the same Yamato cannon as the normal battlecruiser, in real scale, it would no doubt be much stronger and have a more powerful Yamato cannon. That and I played it in real scale, and I've lost the mission so many times because I accidentally triggered the Loki, and it kept on Yamatoing the Odin and one-shotting it. Not fun.)
"Oh… I can see why…" Penny uttered as everyone nodded their heads. As for Adam, his eyes scowled at the screen the whole time.
"Not gonna lie, how will they take that thing down? They are tiny compared to the Loki." Yang could only wonder as everyone else shrugged.
The screen resumed, and the audience watched as the Loki disengaged itself from the docks holding it, and with a burst of several thrusters, it jetted into the skies as Raynor's Wraiths barrelled straight for it. With an ear-piercing hiss, the Loki began to move as Raynor's Wraiths began to launch their missiles at it.
The Loki responded in kind as hundreds of missiles suddenly poured out of the battlecruiser and headed straight for Raynor's air force. Then suddenly, the camera zoomed into a first-person view of one of the Wraith pilots yelling out.
"Whoa! First-person time?" Ruby enthusiastically asked as RGQC nodded his head.
"Yup. Do alert me if you're feeling nauseous from possible motion sickness." And with that, the camera continues.
"Whoa, they're all over me! Spread out!" The Wraith pilot yelled before bringing one of his sidesticks forward as the entire aircraft swerved to the side and barely avoided a missile. And the audience could only watch as the pilot dodged any incoming missiles.
And once he had passed them, the pilot brought both his sticks forward as his cockpit displayed a lock on one of the turrets. "Targeting systems primed. Firing." He uttered before pressing the buttons on his sticks, and soon, they could see missiles flying out of the Wraith as they slammed into the Loki as the pilot swerved again to avoid AA fire.
The camera then pans away from the Wraith pilot's point of view as more missiles can be seen coming from goliaths, and even the Odin was supporting from the ground up. It was during this time that Matt appeared on screen. "This is going to get tricky...I'm detecting battlecruisers at the next base and the Odin doesn't have strong anti-air capabilities."
"Oh dear, that doesn't sound good…" Pietro mumbled to himself.
"Scramble more Wraiths from the starport. If we have enough we can handle the battlecruisers." Raynor muttered as the camera panned back at the Loki, which didn't look too hot as fires could be seen all over it. Still, it had already shot down several Wraiths and began bombarding the Odin, though the science vessel was there to fix the damage.
As it turns out, getting swarmed by Wraiths as well as receiving bombardment from below proved to be too much for the Loki minutes into the battle despite its best efforts as an explosion engulfed the bridge before more explosions began erupting around the Loki as if a chain reaction had been triggered.
A final explosion soon engulfs the Loki as it is reduced to nothing but chunks of burning neo-steel that grimly reminded everyone of how the mothership Artanis was on went out in Zeratul's vision. To say the least, they could only remain silent as the burning wrecks of the Loki crashed onto the ground.
"What a way to go…" Ilia grimaced as neither she nor anyone else would like to know what it was like for the battlecruiser crew when it blew up in the sky.
"I… concur…" Adam reluctantly agrees. This is a terrible way to go. Are there even bodies left to find after that?
With the Loki destroyed and out of the way, Tychus appears on screen and says, "Now that was fun!" The convict chuckled before continuing. "Don't worry, old buddy, I'll give you some time to catch up." He said before discovering something.
"Well I'll be, those Dominion egg heads really thoughta everything. Pardon me a moment."
What… did he find in there?" Yang could only ask as RGQC subtly shook his head.
"You don't wanna know."
"Alright? If you say so?" Blake mutters.
With the final Dominion base left, Raynor's spectres can be seen on the move and began their sabotaging efforts from within as Raynor's fleet of wraiths gathered not too far away with their cloak active. At the same time, it was a mess on the ground as Raynor's raiders slowly pushed in with the help of siege tanks and spectre sabotage inside. Even so, the Dominion were desperate to stop them as it was fortified to the extreme and cracking it open would be tough.
The audience could only grimace at the blood spit, but even before they could speak, Tychus reappeared with the sound of the toilet being flushed. "There we go. Heh. You ready yet?" He grinned.
Wait. Hold on. There's a bathroom installed inside the Odin?! How did he even use it in his suit?" Weiss could feel her right eye rapidly twitching while laughter broke out.
"Yeah, seem kinda unnecessary but funny simultaneously if you're to think about it." Yang chuckles.
"But how does one take it out? I doubt it can be done in seconds." Penny then points out as RGQC adds in.
"One of life's mysteries, ain't it?"
"No, it's not." Winter bluntly responds as the realm lord simply shrugs his shoulders.
"I hope you're readin' this, Jimmy, 'cause I'm heading for the last base now!" Tychus announces as the camera pans over to show the Odin marching in towards the last Dominion base. At the same time, the battle is still ongoing, even more so when the Odin brings its artillery cannons forward. "This is gonna hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me!" Tychus taunts before the Odin's guns sing and blow up everything that was caught in the bombardment.
Even more so when it cleared a path for Raynor's men to push in deeper as the Odin began stomping closer while firing its T800 Cannons, it was also during this time a battlecruiser slowly turned as the prow of the battle began glowing, much to the audience's horrified realisation.
"Oh boy." Ren muttered before his leader added in.
"Hopefully, the Odin can take the hit." Jaune hoped as Pyrrha rested her hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sure it will go well. Probably."
"He better move!" Sun cried out.
The screen then showed a Dominion Captain in a military suit as well as a sizable amount of cybernetics on his head appeared on the screen, he also had a pipe in his mouth, and he uttered. "The Odin is in range, fire the Yamato cannon!" He ordered as the battlecruiser let out its signature noise as its prow began glowing dark orange.
After charging for four seconds, the battlecruiser fired a single energy bolt that quickly slammed into the Odin, and an explosion followed, much to Raynor's men's shock and surprise. More so to everyone, including the audience, the Odin was relatively fine except for a rather large gaping crater on the engine of destruction as Tychus appeared on the screen.
"Hey now, that ain't fair!" Tychus complains childishly as if someone damaged his toy, all while sparks erupt within his cockpit.
"Wow! That thing took a heavy hit, and it still stands. Roughly I think." Penny observed.
"That indeed, my dear." Pietro observed that much of the Odin's hull had already begun to repair itself due to the Science vessel above.
"I'm more impressed that the blast didn't knock the Odin out. I mean, how can anything function with a hole that big in it?" Neptune points out as the Odin struggled for a bit before it began moving again. Though more erratically now, thanks to the crater-sized hole on it.
"It makes me wonder what went into the Odin's construction to make it resilient to damage." Robyn wondered as those from Atlas glanced at each other.
The battle rages on in both the air and ground of the last Dominion base, and despite the initial setback after the Odin got Yamatoed, Raynor's forces, with the assistance of the Odin pushed ever closer into the last base when the Odin paused as Tychus noticed that he missed something.
"Hello there, now how'd I miss this button with a skull on it?" Tychus wondered before one of the hatches of the Odin opened, and out came a nuclear missile as its alert rang out.
"Nuclear Launch Detected"
"IT HAS A NUKE SILO INSIDE IT?!" Those were the words that rang in everyone's head. Some are more positive and enthusiastic than others about the revelation that this machine of war has a nuke inside of it.
"Oh, baby... you're in for a world of pain!" Tychus giggled like a child as everyone panicked. Raynor's men panicked. The Dominion forces panicked. Even the poor scientist and engineers there were also panicking.
"Nuke incoming! Go! Go! Go!" One of Raynor's marines ordered out, and everyone could be seen pulling out as Dominion scientists and engineers could also be seen running for their lives. Raynor's men assisted them in the at-the-moment evacuation.
Soon enough, the nuke Tychus launched arrived, and it obliterated the last Dominion base, leaving nothing but burned ruins.
"BOOM!" Nora cackles like a mad woman upon the nuke's detonation, as does the mushroom cloud that follows after. In fact, seeing this makes her want to go back and play that game her team and team RWBY had a while back.
"There goes the last base…" Ozpin simply hummed.
The camera then pans over to the Odin, walking for a bit before Matt makes an appearance. Excellent! With the Odin secured we can hit the UNN complex on Korhal and make our broadcast." And then the Odin brought all its guns up and fired into the sky as Tychus himself appeared on the screen.
"Hey can ya hear me 'Captain'? Maybe next time you'll trust ol' Tychus with a little bit o' mayhem." The convict grinned as Raynor made his appearance with a short chuckle.
"Huh. That's about all I'd trust you with, Tychus." He says as the screen darkens.
"Yeah, after seeing that, I'll leave it to him. I need some help to cause a distraction." Torchwick joked as Neo hums.
"Oh yeah, that's for sure.
And with that, the theatre light activates as the Rappy on RGQC's lap jumps off so that the realm lord can stand and stretch his back. "Well, I hope you all had fun watching it because I can tell ya, the next mission will be quite the experience." RGQC offered a cheerful grin right until he heard beeping coming from his jacked.
"What now?" The realm lord frowned as everyone watched as he pulled out his phone and read the details. The frown on his face grew deeper before he grumbled out with a hint of panic. "Oh great! Looks like a fellow realm lord's realm is under attack by Blokkat Harvesters! Honestly, out of everything we realm lords have to deal with, these fucking things don't know when to quit!"
The realm lord begins glowing a green hue before he becomes a ball of green energy. "QAI," RGQC spoke as his voice was now echoing.
[Yes, master.]
"Initiate protocol two-five-six-one-zero-nine ASAP. Get a full sweep of my realm for any Blokkat scouts. If my fellow realm lord's realm is under attack by those things… there may be others around searching for a weak spot. I'll need to intervene on the matter personally. At once."
"Blokkats?" Ruby tilts her head worriedly. This is one of the first times RGQC seems panicked. Who and what are these Blokkats that made RGQC afraid?
"I'll explain another time. Go for your break, and I'll have one of my servants handle you while I'm gone. I need to leave now." RGQC explained as a small portal appeared before the realm lord zipped into it.
[This matter does not concern you all. I recommend you all go for your break. Master and I will take care of this problematic issue…] QAI explained as everyone glanced at each other before standing up and leaving.
And we are done with this chapter! I dunno how I managed to get this done somewhat on time despite the delays, but I hope you all enjoy reading it. And I hoped this was what you all were looking forward to because I went gimmicky with this mission in my play-through.
Also, just some more stuff I decided to add in because I can, and the main things are the Rappy from Phantasy Star and the Blokkats from Gigastructure Mod for Stellaris. And yes, the Blokkats are terrifying when you read up on them despite their goofy-looking portraits.
Besides that, I do not have anything else to say either, and I hope you enjoyed this chapter. And other than that, if you like my story, follow and favourite me if you want this story!
Do also leave a review of what you think of this chapter, as I enjoy reading it and giving replies to it!
RGQC out!
