Virtue and Venom: Chapter 36
Land of Stone (Akatsuki hideout): With Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke
Naruto with several of his clones were using their wind chakra covered trench knives to slash and dismember the puppets as they rushed towards him; Naruto slashed at one puppet slicing it in half as both the top and bottom half of the puppet fell to the ground.
Naruto was about to engage another puppet when the puppet he just sliced in half took a swing at him with the sword it was carrying; Naruto narrowly avoided the attack side stepping and slicing the puppets head off. "Damn it; how are these things still fighting" Naruto shouted as he looked to his right "Sasuke; where is the puppet master" Naruto asked.
Sasuke with his sharingan activated jumped over a puppet with his sword drawn; Sasuke landed behind the puppet and used his sword to destroy it. Sasuke cut the puppet down the middle and then once more horizontally cutting the puppet into 4 pieces; as the puppet parts fell to the ground Sasuke used his sharingan to scan the puppet. As he did, he noticed a tag inside the puppets head.
"There are tags in the puppets" Sasuke shouted to both Naruto and Kakashi "they are not being controlled directly; no puppet user here" Sasuke said as he turned around. Another puppet a few yards away began to fired poisoned kunai at Sasuke; Sasuke used his sword to knock the kunai out of the air before making a hand sign "Fire Style: Fire ball jutsu" Sasuke shouted as he launched a fireball at the puppet hitting it and destroying it along with 2 other puppets that were around it.
"Lightning Blade" Kakashi shouted as he used his signature jutsu to cut through 3 puppets at once "Naruto, Sasuke, we need to destroy these puppets as fast as we can; the longer we are here the longer the others are in danger" Kakashi said as he took out a kunai. Kakashi spun around and plunged the kunai into a puppets head destroying the tag and sending it to the ground.
"Damn it" Naruto said as another one of his clones was destroyed; Naruto threw both of his trench knives into the air freeing up his hands. Naruto began weaving through hand signs as fast as he could as his trench knives coming back down; Naruto finished his last hand sign and immediately grabbed his trench knives once more 'Wind Style: Great Breakthrough'. Naruto unleashed a large wall of wind hitting several puppets sending them crashing into the cavern's walls destroying them 'Ino, be careful wherever you are' Naruto thought.
With Ino, Hanabi and Chiyo
"Oh shit" Ino shouted us she bent backwards using her hands to catch herself on the ground as a metal cable with a spiked end passed over her stomach; Sasori aimed the steel cable in his stomach at Ino who was barely able to avoid getting skewered.
Saori used his metal wings to fly forward an in incredible speed towards Ino who got back up and got into a taijutsu stance; Sasori was about to launch his attack when he was interrupted.
"Eight Trigrams: Vacuum palm" Hanabi shouted as she launched an air palm towards Sasori; Sasori was hit by the air palm but it did not damage him since his body was no longer human. Sasori was thrown off course and turned his attention towards Hanabi; Sasori aimed his arm at Hanabi and using a hidden compartment fired a wall of senbon towards Hanabi.
Hanabi seeing this dodged to the side as fast as she could but wasn't fast enough; Hanabi got hit in the arm by 2 senbon. Hanabi jumped back and fell to a knee and began to pull out the senbon 'damn puppet' Hanabi thought as she dropped the senbon and felt her arm begin to burn 'don't tell me' Hanabi thought in fear as she ripped open her sleeve.
Hanabi's blood ran cold as she saw the 2 wounds on her arm were purple 'those senbon were poisoned' she thought.
Sasori smiled at this 'one down; two to go' he thought; Sasori heard the clacking of puppet parts and jumped into the air just as the mother and father puppets came towards him.
Granny Chiyo cursed as she moved her hands in an attempt to have her puppets catch up to Sasori; Chiyo sent the puppets towards Sasori once more and attacked him from both sides. The mother puppet swung her swords at Sasori who dodged the attack and kicked the puppet away; however, when he did that Sasori had to immediately dodge an attack from the father puppet.
The Father puppet began to swing its wooden whip at Sasori who had to engage in evasive maneuvers in order to avoid the whip; Sasori ducked and dived under the whip before flying back up and knocking the father puppet away.
Sasori's relief was short lived as he was soon hit from behind by the concussive force of an explosion; Ino took her chance and threw a kunai with an exploding tag at Sasori. Sasori was sent falling towards the ground but corrected himself last minute landing on his feet "there's more where that came from buddy" Ino shouted however Sasori only laughed.
"Foolish little girl; your chances of victory are getting slimmer by the second" Sasori said as he pointed at Hanabi "your little Hyuga friend is poisoned; look it's already becoming harder for her to breath" he said. Ino went wide eyed and turned and saw Hanabi who was on her knees breathing heavily and sweating profusely.
"I-I'm fine" Hanabi said with bated breaths "just finish this guy" she said.
"Ino; go and help Hanabi" Chiyo said as she took out a scroll and threw it to Ino who caught it "there are I.V fluids in that scroll; keep her hydrated while I keep Sasori busy" she said.
"Can you handle him all by yourself" Ino asked concerned "what if- "she began but Chiyo interrupted.
"If he had anymore puppets, he would've used them by now" Chiyo said narrowing her eyes "he hasn't used his 100 puppets yet so I'm guessing he's low and has no other backups" she said. "I'm old not useless; don't worry about me" Chiyo said.
'Perceptive old bat' Sasori thought 'I barely had time to replace my 100 puppets; and I lost my Kazekage puppet trying to capture the 5 tails not that long ago' he thought as he pointed his arms at Chiyo. "You'll never win" Sasori said as he activated his hidden weapon; his arms opened revealing 2 nozzles, Sasori fired a concentrated stream of fire at Chiyo in an attempt to kill her.
However, Chiyo brought both the mother and father puppets together and activated their chakra shields; the fire hit the shields and went around it and Chiyo. As the fired died down Chiyo deactivated the shield and chuckled "my silly grandson" Chiyo said "you shouldn't say never; you'll end up very disappointed" she said with a smile.
With Mamushi, Anko and Sai
"Come on there has to be a path somewhere in here" Mamushi said as she ran along with Anko and Sai "where are they" she said looking around. "I'm going to beat the jerk face who took Sasuke away from me" Mamushi said cracking her knuckles.
"Don't worry we'll find them" Anko said focusing on the what seemed like a never-ending hallway "and I'll also find the asshole who put up all these traps; and when I do, I'll pull his fucking head off" she said.
"Such violent women" Sai said running ahead of both Mamushi and Anko "you 2 are so bloodthirsty it's almost unsettling" he said.
"Sai, now's not the time for flattery" Mamushi said making Sai sweat drop "we have to find our missing boyfriends" she said. Mamushi, Anko and Sai ran down the hallway for a few more minutes until the stopped.
They all stopped at an intersection, on the left there was a set of stairs leading down while on the right there were stairs going up "oh you've got to be shitting me" Anko said in frustration.
"What do we do now Anko sensei" Mamushi said looking at both sets of stairs; Anko rubbed her chin until Sai spoke up.
"I believe I have an idea" Sai said gaining both of their attentions "me and Mamushi do down the left stairs while you go up the right stairs" he said. "You go and find Ino and her team while me and Mamushi go and find Kakashi sensei and his team" Sai said and Anko nodded.
"Alright" Anko said "Mamushi, Sai, be careful ok" Anko said and Mamushi and Sai nodded.
"You to sensei" Mamushi said as she and Sai both ran down the stairs while Anko went the other way; as Mamushi and Sai ran down the stairs Mamushi reached behind her and took out her scroll "looks like it's your time to shine" she said.
With Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke
"Rasengan" Naruto shouted as he drove his attack into a puppet shattering it to splinters; Naruto felt a hot stinging sensation in his back as he turned around with a trench knife in his left hand. Naruto saw the puppet that just cut him across his back and proceeded to cut off its head; Naruto felt his wound begin to burn "holy shit this hurts" Naruto said.
"You've been poisoned foolish boy; don't worry, I'm handling it" the Kyuubi said in Naruto's head "why don't you use my power; you could end this fight in no time" it said darkly. Naruto scowled at this.
'No goddamn, motherfucking way' Naruto thought 'last time I listened to you I nearly killed pervy sage; no dice fox' he said and the Kyuubi only chuckled.
"You'll need my help eventually boy" the Kyuubi said before cutting contact.
"Naruto, look out" Kakahsi shouted knocking Naruto out of his stupor; Naruto turned around and saw three puppets coming towards him. Naruto raised up his trench knives to defend himself but before he could the puppets here hit by a lightning jutsu spearing them all
'Chidori: Sharp spear' Sasuke used his sword to aim the attack hitting all 3 puppets that were about to get Naruto "hey loser; I can't hold your hand in a fight, get your head out of your ass" he said and Naruto looked at Sasuke with a tic mark.
"I was arguing with the fox, bite me bastard" Naruto said as he threw one of his trench knives past Sasuke's head hitting a puppet that was about to attack Sasuke "how about you stop bragging and start fighting" he shouted as he turned around and sliced a puppet apart.
"Blonde dumbass" Sasuke shouted kicking a puppet away.
"Pretty boy asshole" Naruto shouted back.
'Arguing during a life and death fight' Kakashi thought looking at his students 'will they ever learn' he thought as he took out another kunai ready to get back in the fight. Kakashi turned and saw a group of puppets making his way towards him 'we've destroyed half already; all we need is to- 'Kakashi began until he heard a 'whooshing' sound go through the air and the group of puppets in front of him get chopped in half.
Naruto and Sasuke both turned and saw something they haven't seen in years; a red 3 bladed scythe with a cable attached to it; the scythe buried itself into the ground and a figure came flying down next to it. "Never fear, Mamushi is here" Mamushi said as she landed and grabbed her scythe and spun it around before getting into a fighting stance "along with my loyal partner Sai" she shouted as Sai landed next to her.
"Kakashi sensei, Uchiha, dickless" Sai said with his creepy smile.
"Hey" Naruto shouted in annoyance.
With Ino, Chiyo and Hanabi
Ino was kneeling over Hanabi while Chiyo was fighting Sasori; Hanabi was breathing heavily and sweating through her cloths as the poison from Sasori's senbon took its toll on her. "Hang on Hanabi" Ino said as she hooked up another I.V to her 'damn it; I feel so useless' Ino thought as she looked over to Chiyo. 'I know I'm not a combat type… but… crap' Ino thought.
Chiyo was fighting Sasori with both the mother and father puppets and so far, the fight was at a deadlock; Chiyo brought the mother and father puppets together and connected multiple strands of wire in between them. Chiyo sent the 2 puppets towards Sasori who saw the wires running between the puppets.
"Old hag" Sasori said as his wing blades began to spin at a fast rate and went in front of him; the wind blades but the wire in half saving him from being destroyed but Sasori's wings locked up. Sasori looked and saw that the wire got inside the wings tangling them up.
"Hehehe" Chiyo laughed "no more flight my precious grandson; now then, do you wish to surrender now" she said and Sasori scoffed.
"Never" Sasori said.
"Ok then" Chiyo said; Sasori was confused until he felt something grab him from behind.
Anko appeared from behind Sasori and used her snakes to latch onto him "surprise dick face" Anko shouted and she lifted Sasori and swung him into a wall. Sasori slammed into the wall making his puppet body crack; Sasori unleashed a hidden arm sword and tried to decapitate Anko's snakes but she called them back "What's the situation" she asked.
"Anko thank goodness you're here" Ino said in relief "Hanabi is poisoned; she's losing fluids and color fast" she said and Anko nodded.
"Get her out of here and keep her stable" Anko said "we'll handle getting puppet boy here; just get to safety" Anko said and Ino nodded.
"Ok be careful" Ino said as she picked up Hanabi over her shoulder; Ino began to run where Anko appeared from but Sasori launched an attack.
"No, you don't" Sasori shouted as he fired a volley of poisoned senbon at Ino; Ino saw the senbon coming towards her but did not have to worry as Chiyo jumped in front of them and lifted up her sleeve revealing her prosthetic arm. A chakra shield appeared and protected both Ino and Chiyo from the senbon as Ino escaped the area.
"How rude of you Sasori; attacking a woman when she isn't looking" Chiyo said "I raised you better than that" she said; Sasori was now seething as he ejected both of his tangled wings off his body. Sasori reached behind himself and pulled out a scroll from his back.
Sasori opened it and in a puff of smoke a new pair of Sasori's wings appeared "A good puppet master always has extra parts and weapons" he said.
"Yes, quite true" Chiyo said as she recalled the mother and father puppets "Anko dear; will you assist me in dealing with my dear grandson" she said.
"Let's give him an ass kicking he won't forget" Anko said as she took out a kunai and got into her stance.
