Hello everyone and welcome to Chapter 0 of Pokemon Re:Dux! This is just a quick explanation of the events leading up to the current story and where everything takes place.
This will definitely be updated in the future and will elaborate on more story details as things get revealed, and quickly I want to shoutout KokoroEcho for allowing me to use their characters in the lore of Re:Dux.

This Universe, which we'll call the Pokemon Re: Dux Universe for now Starts from Pokemon Black and White 2 in 2012 and every major Pokemon Game that has been released up until generation 8 takes place in the same year it was released in and is canon to the following Story.

In 2012, The same year the Neo team Plasma attacked Unova, Retsuko Kourada was Born to Nagato and Haa'na Kourada. The same year, the Unovan Government failed an experiment that altered the course of history. Four years later in 2016, the events of Pokemon Sun and Moon take place and a young Retsuko encounters Solgaleo for the first time on his family's balcony after Sun defeated Necrozma and team Rainbow rocket. He took an extreme liking to all Pokemon after this event and befriended a small and weak Alolan Rattata who he named Ace, and a powerful Rowlet whom he named Kuu later in his life. In 2019, Nagato Kourada disappeared mysteriously during one of his battles as the Champion of the Pokemon world. It is around this time that a terrible accident happens to Retsuko, causing him to become depressed for a long time. The next year, he met an injured and hungry girl in the woods when he was out exploring and his mother nursed her back to health and took her in as her own daughter. The girl, who Haa'na named Olivia, took a liking to her new family and quickly became friends with Retsuko after another encounter with each other. Retsuko and Via meet Kyu at the Pokemon school, and the three form a trio and become close friends.
In 2023, Retsuko had turned 12 and his mother who had held him back from becoming a Pokemon trainer, headed off from his journey two years late as he'd promised her. Retsuko, Kyu, and Via traveled together as the two of them had also postponed their journeys for their younger friend and Retsuko took on the Island challenge while Kyu decided to participate in Alola's Pokemon Gym challenge. After the pair both defeated Retsuko's cousin Kala as the final trainer on their way to the Pokemon League, they made their way to the tournament where they met Sun, Alola's first ever champion. Solgaleo comes from Ultra space and surprises the entire Region, joining Sun who decided to participate for fun. Kyu made it to the quarter-finals of the tournament before being defeated by Sun effortlessly, with Solgaleo defeating all of his Pokemon 6-0. Retsuko battled Sun in the semi-finals after defeating Leilani Koa, his longtime rival in Alola. Retsuko lost 3 of His Pokemon to Solgaleo, before bringing out his partner Kuu in a climactic Clash of Solgaleo and Sun's signature Z move versus Retsuko and Kuu's. Kuu seemingly won this clash and overpowered Solgaleo but Solgaleo had been holding back immensely and defeated Kuu easily after testing his strength. Solgaleo retreated to the side of the battlefield and slept, having been satisfied, and Sun proceeded to Defeat Kuu and Retsuko's other Pokemon with his Incineroar and Primarina.
After the League ended and Sun defended his title, an Ultra wormhole opened up at the awards ceremony and an Alternate Universe's Necrozma came from it, drawn to Alola by the powerful clash of Kuu and Solgaleo's Z moves. Retsuko, Kyu, and Leilani team up to defeat it, with the two of them pairing up and doing their own new double Z move with Retsuko's Kuu and Leinani's Decidueye, DJ as Kyu and his Mimikyu Nagatae hold the Ultra wormhole Open with their own Z move. They defeat Necrozma who retreats, and Retsuko and his friends temporarily retire.
After hearing about Unova from Retsuko's mother, the gang travel to Unova where they immediately meet a short and eager boy named Gill and his friend Kion. They befriend Retsuko and Kyu, and the four become rivals to each other during their Unova gym challenge. After Retsuko adjusted to the new gym battle system with the help of Via, the four trainers complete the battle challenge and win all 8 gym badges. Kyu and Retsuko obtained their Kalosian Pokemon while waiting for the League to commence.
After discovering that Unovan Citizens who supported team plasma's original cause and banded together to form Alpha Team Plasma and learning that they planned to liberate every city in Unova, Kion wanted to take his friends to Kalos after receiving a message from his adoptive father, who apologized for abandoning him and his Cousin, and explained that he was ready to teach Jackson their family technique, though he himself had become estranged from the others and resented their worship of the past and ancient Pokemon. Kion and his friends departed a week before the Pokemon league and were extremely pressed for time, only getting back a day before it started.
When Kion ultimately decided to take Retsuko, Kyu, and Via to his home region of Kalos to get stronger in order to defeat Team Plasma, Retsuko and Kion ran into a Goodra, who was the guardian of the temple that held the secret to Jackson's family technique. (Origin Forme) In order for Kion to be able to teach Retsuko the technique, he had to prove to the temple itself that Retsuko was worthy of performing the Origin Forme technique with Kuu. The pair battled the Alpha Goodra, and after a tough and fierce battle, Retsuko and Kuu won. Retsuko decided to catch the Goodra and take her with him and ended up naming her Hai.
Meanwhile, Kyu and Via were tasked with fighting off the second guardian, a Greninja that previously belonged to Kion's grandfather, the village elder. Kyu used his Charizard to battle and Via used her Fenniken. After Via landed an extremely damaging hit on the Greninja, Kyu and his Charizard applied massive amounts of pressure to the Greninja by pressing down on it with Blast Burn attacks that were so powerful, they destroyed half of the temple and forced Greninja into the ground. Greninja used his Water shuriken as a massive shield to protect itself, but after a long struggle, Greninja gave in and was defeated by Kyu and Via, whose Fenniken evolved into Braixen. Kyu catches the Greninja after taking a liking to it, and the Greninja feels the same and accepts Kyu as his new Trainer. Kyu discovers that the Greninja's previous name was Kalosian for chief or head, so Kyu names the Greninja "Kou" which has the same Japanese meaning. The two shake hands, and Via and Kyu proceed to meet up with Jackson and Retsuko, and they head back to Unova to stop Team Plasma.
After making it back to Unova and attending the Pokemon League entrance ceremony, the League is attacked by Team Plasma. They kidnap Kyu and use him to get information on his relations to someone they needed in order for their plan to work, and though Everyone infiltrates their base and thwarts team Plasma's plans and saves Kyu, he is left changed by the event.
The Pokemon league takes place as planned, but in the Semi-finals against Gill and his Dedenne, something overtakes Kyu, and Kion and Retsuko band together with Via to stop him.
After winning the final battle, Retsuko is left Victorious and becomes Unova's new Champion to replace Iris. Iris takes a liking to him and declares Retsuko to be her little brother. Kyu leaves right after the League, not contacting anyone and vanishing off the grid. Via is accepted into a Pokemon Academy for their Arts Division, and goes to the island to participate, leaving Retsuko on his own to find his way and fend for himself as Unova's new Champion.
